Need help with Ipod demensions

I had a 15gb 3rd gen. I need to replace it with an ipod of the same exact size. If I have to get another 15gb that is fine. I also have a 30gb 3rd gen and it is thicker. I read somewhere that the 3rd gen 40gb is the same size as the 15gb?? Can I get a 4th gen? It can be a little thinner but the outside dimensions need to be the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Need help with iPod Gen2. No Sound will come out

SO i was playing the ocarina thingy.. when i finished i closed the app and put my iPod into sleep mode.. but about a half hour later.. i picked it up and noticed no sound was emitting...but it would work when I had my ear buds in?? any help would be appreciated

hi there. you seem to be really smart with ipod touches and i have the same problem this thread started with. only i used to have sound without headphones. i recently updated to 3.1.2 and had no trouble. i synchronized it to my computer to add music and the music went away. was there a new update i wasnt aware of? or did my ipod break? i have the 2nd gen with the rounded silver sides. i cant listen to the sounds from an app unless i have headphones in. wats going on? please email me back at "[email protected]" and thank you.

NEED HELP WITH IPOD 4TH GEN

I have an ipod touch 4th generation I forgot my password. Every time I try to restore it, it seems as tho its going to work but then comes up with some thing saying THAT I NEED MY PASSWORD. I have no idea what else to do. PLEASE HELP!!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Need help with Ipod/FM transmitter use in Europe !!!

HELP! I need to know if I can use my ipod and my Griffin FM Transmitter to listen to tunes and charge the player with a car in Europe (Germany, Italy, etc.)

It appears that FM transmitters have been passed for use recently by Germany, Switzerland and Iceland. When or if the UK or any other European countries will allow them I don't know. Need help with ipod & itunes

Hey everyone.
I just got a ipod video and i went to my friends house and put a whole bunch of songs on it. Well i want those songs on my ipod video onto my itunes on my home computer but i cant seem to get them on without over writting the songs on my ipod video with the songs on my itunes already, which i dont want to happen because i dont want to loose any of the songs on my ipod video. Someone please help me.

1) go back to your friends house and put all the song files you want into a folder on his computer.
2) plug in your ipod to his computer and enable disk use.
3) then open it up from "my computer", you'll see a few folders like "notes", "contacts" etc.
4) drag and drop the folder you created with all the song files. Don't put this in one of the ipod's pre-made folders.
5) go home, open your ipod again from disk use and select the folder you made with all the song files. drag and drop this anywhere you want in your computer (I suggest putting it with where you store more music)
Lastly you need to import these songs, open itunes and select File>Add Folder to Library. you will then select the folder of music from your friends house, wherever you dropped it.
After you have added the songs to your library you are free to delete ONLY the folder you created in your iPod (with the music files from your friend).

how do I set my playlist so if i hook up my ipod it only downloads my songs but if anyone else hooks up there ipod there songs won't come into my playlist? PLEASE HELP

first of all, i'm not sure if i understand your question fully but i believe you just want your OWN playlist so that you can put the songs YOU want on it and no one ELSE can put their music in it?
if that's the case, you just need to make your own playlist on your ipod.
open up itunes and near the top, select "file".
select "new playlist".
this new playlist should appear on the left-hand side of itunes under 'playlists' right at the bottom. when it appears, it will read 'untitled playlist'. click it once then again, so that you are able to name the playlist to your liking.
when it comes to putting songs into your own playlist, you can drag any song from your itunes library. choose a song from your itunes library and drag it over to your designated playlist til you see your playlist is outlined with blue and your cursor has a plus sign just below it.

My Ipod is down! I've tried to go on the apple website to help me fix the problem but I think im not getting any progress.
when i open my ipod, all i see is the little ipod with x's in its eyes ..."sad ipod" and..
Whenever i connect the ipod to compt with the USB all i see is the battery sign with the thunder...ive tried waiting but no luck...
I tried to reset it but its not working.
I cant restore or update bc the updater wouldnt work
When i go to itunes it would say no ipod connected but yet the ipod is on with the batery and thunder.. I know it has battery but why is it not working
I tried it on another compt and still not working
do u think its the usb?

So wouldyou recommend that I update? It was made for use with an att sim but was unlocked for use with a tmobile sim... I just so happen to have att. So the phone being locked for att wouldn't be a bother for me. I've just heard of people getting sim card read errors after updating, so I was wondering if I should even bother.

Need Help with iPod Version

I want to put Linux in my iPod but I need to "unUpdate" it to v 1.0 (its updated to 1.2 right now). I tried alot of stuff but never works...
I got the 20gb iPod photo (the generation just before Video iPod)
When I use "restore", my iPod stay at V1.2
Could someone help me please?
Is there any way to unUpdate an iPod?

By the way, I suggest you do not put Linux on you iPod, as you will loss the warranty immediately. Also when your iPod get into trouble, it is not easy to revert back

Need help with iPod updater

I recently downloaded the iPod updater for my iPod Nano, but everytime i try to open it, it doesnt come up. I tried downloading the iPod updater a second time, but still the same results. I click on it, and the little hour glass shows up as if its about to open but then it just goes away and the app doesnt open. If someone can help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, did you download the correct version of the updater - i.e., the Windows version versus the Mac version? Just had to ask.

Hello all!! Need some help here. When I plug my ipod into the computer...my Ipod no longer shows up in the "source" window on itunes. A "do not disconnect screen" will flash on my Ipod for hours on end.

How to I go through the warranty service process.
If you purchased from a non Apple store recently (~ a few weeks), I'd take it back and get another.
You can take it to an Apple retail store or request service here -> iPod Service Request
I mean i know you can request service, but you have to pay for that.
If it is within 180 days of purchase, you do not have to pay for anything. If it is after 180 days but before the one year warranty is up, it's ~$29 for shipping.

Hi! REALLY REALLY NEED HELP WITH IPOD!

I need to know if my ipod is damaged or if this is just a quirk. I have a fifth gen. video ipod. All of the sudden my ipod stopped playing all songs and videos that were purchased from itunes. I have no idea why. I looked up on the internet and it said something about installing the latest version of itunes so I did that. After I did that it then erased everything from my ipod. However, everything that was on my ipod still shows up in itunes when I plug it in like it is all still there, however, nothing shows up on the actual ipod. Is there something wrong with my ipod and how do I fix this??

Need help with ipod itunes syncing problem just occured

i restored my computer to factory settings and when i did that i lost my itunes and when i reinstalled it and tried to sync my ipod to the new installation of itunes it said that my ipod is synced with another itunes and that to sync it wiht this itunes it would delete and replace all data on my ipod with data from my itunes which is nuthing please help i dont wanna lose all my songs and apps an all that

You should have created a backup of your Itunes library before your computer restore to factory setting so that you can copy them to your new iTunes.
Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

I have had my Ipod Nano (3rd generation) for a year now, and I have just come across a problem. When I try to sync particular songs bought from itunes, an error sign comes up saying "Attempted sync to disc 'IPOD' has failed. The Device can not be read from or writtian to." This only happens with certain songs and videos bough from the itunes store. I feel like if is a waste of money, so if anyone knows what the problem is or how to fix it, that would be greatly appreciated!
