Need help with Photoshop Elements 6!

Hello, and good evening.
I recently got a new computer, so I can finally use my PSElements disc again.
However, when I go to install I keep getting an error about a photo or something missing.
When it asks to check a certain file path to see if said photo exsists, the file path itself doesn't even exsist.
I don't know if this is due to a scratch on the disc, which seems faint enough not to matter, but I don't know.
Is there anyway I can download Photoshop Elements 6 via Adobe and just use my serial code on that?
Really don't want to have to buy another, I love my version.

pse 6 is no longer available for trial download.
you can try copying your install files to your desktop and installing from the desktop files.

I just downloaded Photoshop Element 8 to try as a trail. I can get the organizer working but when I go to edit a photo with full edit I get an error message that says Photoshop editors as stopped working and I then need to shut down the program using thh task manager.. how can I resolve this problem

Need Help with Photoshop elements 5.0

I know that this is a very old version of photoshop elements, but I would still like to use it, since I paid $100.00 for it. The problem is that it hasn't been installed onto my computer for awhile and now when I go to install it I get an error msg. each time. The msg is (C: Program Files\Adobe\EspionAlbum.dll. Verify that the file exist and that you can access it)!!
I have gone to the program files and into adobe and the Espion file is there! I have also called adobe technical support and they will not help me because it is such an outdated version. I am really aggrivated with adobe support and would really appreciate any help that anyone might be able to offer! Also, go slow, I am not a computer wiz, for sure! Thank you!

Okay...sorry...it is Windows XP Version 5.1 Does this clarify for everyone? I assumed that most people would get that much once I saw that I left out the XP in the original post!
Now that is out of the way...is it possible for anyone to help me with the problem at hand? Can anyone tell me if I can run Elements 5.0 on Windows XP or are they not compatible? If it should run, then please go back and read the original post so that you will see the issue that I am having! Thanks so much!

Need Help with Photoshop Elements 4 PLEASE!!!

I had Photoshop Elements 4 on my compuer and used it primarily to download photos from my digital camera. My computer crashed and I had to have the hard drive reformatted. I attempted to re-install Photoshop Elements 4 from my CD but it won't automatically load or install. I checked the list of files on the CD but there is no setup file on there. I contacted Adobe for help but was told they can't help me as they don't support this product any more. I paid for a product from them and they can't support me just because it's old??? Can anyone PLEASE help me? Thank you.

Just purchased a download card for Photoshop elements 11, created an account, registered the card, got a serial #. And now there is no download screen, or prompts to guide me to the next step of downloading the product. What is the issue and what should I do? New PC with windows 7.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Ok, but I still have no answer as to why my program is not working. I am using my elements 12 for a on-line digital scrapebooking class. I need this funcntion to work so I can do my homework and be able to move on with this class.

Need help with Photoshop Element 8

I have never used this software and I am having trouble with what i am trying to do. I would like to convert a photo to black and white and then just add one color to a particular item or area. Please help

By using the polygonal lasso, or the marquee tool, or magic wand (depending on how complex the shape is that you want to leave in color) trace
around the object you want to leave in color. Then go to the select tab and choose invert. That changes your selection to everything except the
object you want to color. Under the Enhance tab choose Blank and White. Then back to the Selection tab - choose invert again. Now you
can change the color of your object or leave as is. Everything but that will be black and white. Hope this helps you.;

Does Elements need to have access to ‘My Pictures’ on Windows as when I remove Photos from ‘My Pictures’, Elements later, when backing up, gives a message that it is unable to ‘reconnect’ to the same picture on elements. On other occasions when removing a photo from Elements catalogue I also get a similar message when backing up saying ‘unable to reconnect’. 1. Is there a relationship between Elements and My Pictures and is Elements dependant on the Windows ‘My Pictures’? 2. Why does some photos in Elements in some cases cause them to multiply e.g. double; triple; quadruple; and on occasions even more? Is there something I need to do to stop this or an easy way I can remove the multiples without spending hours doing it manually one by one? Am I doing something wrong? My O/S is Windows XP SP2 and windows Vista on my Laptop. I have been using Elements 5 and have just purchased Photoshop Elements 8.0. (Upgrade) and about to install it. The organizer doesn't care where you send your photos when you download them via the downloader or where they happen to be when you first bring them in if you use the Get Photos command, but once your pics are in the Organizer, you *must* move them from within organizer or it can't find them. You don't have to use My Pictures at all if you don't want to, but regardless of the folder where you put your photos, if you want them someplace else, you use organizer to do it.

Help with Photoshop Elements, I'm new to it?

So I'm just fiddling around with Photoshop Elements, and I have a picture of a crocodile that I'm trying to turn blue, so I'm using the Smart Brush and Blue Sky effect to change his skin colour.
Firstly, is there an easier way to change the colour of something that I'm missing?
Secondly, how do I control the Smart Brush precisely? The thing is his body is about the same colour as the water so when the brush gets to a certain point the entire image turns blue.
So how do I select the crocodile but not the water?
Thirdly, the brush. I can draw with the brush, but then I get the "wait" symbol and my changes vanish. How do I stop this?

You can make the brush cursor larger & smaller with the bracket keys next to the letter p on the keyboard. This affords more control in making the selection.
Use of the Smart brush tool is probably the easiest way to colorize an object. The tool has a buit-in mask. If you look on the Layers palette (Window>tick layer), the black and white rectangle represents the mask.
Left click on the mask, then access the brush tool (the ordinary brush B) and with a black brush paint over the area where the blue spilled over to the water. If you go too far, paint with a white brush to correct.

Need some help with Photoshop Elements Organizer

I have had this program for awhile now, but have not had a lot of time to spend with it....also on a new Mac.
I am trying to work with the Organizer. First time I tried to import photos from IPhoto, it said there was no media to import....(I have a lot of pictures here). I did some reading of the forums and determined that it might be a bug so I downloaded the update 9.0.3. Now I am getting an error tht says Photoshop Elements Organizer is attempting to import photos from a default folder. If I check OK, it begins to import all of my photos.
Any help on this problem would be most appreciated.

The import is working fine. This is a warning message telling you that it is going to import photos and videos from the default folder of your system. Just to inform you about the action it is about to take.

Help with Photoshop Elements 10 after system restore

Hi I need some help and guidance. I have successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 10 twice now; once on my own; and following a MS Vista System Restore; with the help of Adobe support . I then worked on it for a day and all was well.
But unbeknown to me at the time, I had a MS System corruption that was causing Boot issues resulting in a forced Restore of my system and both Restores caused the Photoshop elements desk-top shortcut to disappear and a subsequent PSE10 re-install to fail with the dreaded Data7 , and "Application Shared Technologies" and rollback of Orgainizer and Editor etc etc.
I now realise that the two events were connected and the Adobe Support Person helped me get PSE10 up and running but it involved a lot of file permission changes etc, which lost me in the process, which was done remotely. PS Great customer support!!
After sorting out my MS Vista problem due to "Corrupt System" files, I now need to get my PSE10 up and running again; but how?

Help with Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer

I need some help with my new Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer.
I have not had previous versions of Photoshop, this was a brand new installation. I had previously used Kodak software which came with my camera to organize and edit pictures.
My PC is approximately 6 years old. I have a 2.2 ghz processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. I am running Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
The software seemed to install just fine. I then imported some pictures from my Kodak folders into the Photoshop Organizer. After importing pictures I then received the following error message:
'Elements 9 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
If I remove the pictures from the catalog, I no longer get the error message. As soon as I import any pictures, however, I get the error and the software closes. When I reopen the organizer I get the same error after after about 15 seconds
I have tried the following:
uninstalled an re-installed twice
turned off the automatic backup to photoshop.com
I did come across thread 769749 (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/769749) that offered some advice. Based on that, I optimized my catalog (which was empty), repaired my catalog (which was empty). I also created a new catalog and removed the existing (empty) catalog.
All of these efforts have not worked. Each time I try something, as soon as I import any pictures into the catalog, I get 'Elements 9 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
This is brand new software that I am unable to use.
Adobe, please help.

Answers to following queries would help-
* Are you able to import images into Organizer from folder other than your Kodak folders?
* Is your problem happening for importing from a specific set of folders only?
* Is your problematic folder having any video files in it which you are importing into Organizer?

I need help with Premiere Elements 8

I have enough rams and storage space. I am working in windows XP; I finished a project with still pictures, music, home movie clips, and title menu. I got the program to burn the first copy. I need 19 more, but the program keep "crashing". I have restarted, shut down and open the pc and program back up and nothing is working to keep it from crashing. Can anyone help me? Please!

Help with Photoshop Elements 7

Hello,
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 running on Windows Vista. It will not open and all my photos are in it. Help
Where are the photos stored? Should I reinstall Photoshop Elements 7 if I do will I lose all my photos that are in it.

I am not sure what part of PSE will not open. It is my 72 year old mother who lives in the USA that is having the problem. I was there briely. What I saw was the blue icon on the desktop that said PSE would do nothing when you clicked on it. Same with the menu. She has all her family photos in it so she is very upset.
My understand is PSE 4 is also on the computer. I wasn't there when she installed PSE 7 so who knows what happened.
I think the first step to be done is to find the photos on the local disk.
I sent her a message telling her to look under My Documents Pictures for a Adobe folder and open it and look for the pics there.
My question is should she reinstall PSE 7 if the pictures are there? Does she have to remove it first?
Remember she is 72 years old and not good with computers at all.
