vgvchinna,
See below two ways to get data in your desired format.
The 1st is a simple OUTER JOIN after partitioning the data using CTE.
The 2nd introduces the SW date column three times with aliases to use with three PIVOTs for each column of data. It then wraps the results in a MAX+GROUP BY to flatten it out.
I can think of a 3rd approach using CASE statements too but not including the SQL code for that here.
As you can see both these approaches are complex and not easily scalable. There is also dependency on you knowing the values beforehand to put in the WHERE clause (1st approach) or the PIVOT (in 2nd approach). Removing this dependency will
require dynamic SQL which will complicate the solution even more.
Let us know in this forum if you'd like any explanation on these two approaches.
On a side note, I'd also suggest that when you ask a question in any forum, include as much info as possible e.g. the CREATE/INSERT scripts, properly formatted desired output, what approaches have you already tried, your comfort
and skill level with the technology etc. so that you get better answers and also save time for the people who respond to you.
Good luck!

Need help on the below query.
Hi All,
I've a query given below..
SELECT W.WONUM,
W.STATUS,
WS.CHANGEDATE,
EH.OLD_RATE
FROM
WORKORDER W,
WOSTATUS WS,
ESTIMATE_HEADER@GQMFOF EH
WHERE WS.CHANGEDATE BETWEEN '01-Oct-2009' AND '1-Nov-2009'
AND W.WONUM = WS.WONUM
AND EH.OLD_RATE = 'N'
AND WS.WOSTATUS = 'CLOSE';
I would like to get All the data which status =closed in the month of Oct for Old rate,
So for this i am writing the query above. But not getting the o/p.
It is giving me that " Table/View doesn't exist.
There 2 schemas MAXIMO,GQMMGR..
DBlinks are GQMFOF,MAXFOFNC..
Can anyone help me while writing the above query...

2. GQMMGR adn DBLink is MAXFOFNC
Now i would likw to retrive the data from both the schemas,
i.e some columns from WORKORDER table of maximo schema and some columns from ESTIMATE_HEADER table

Need help in the below command excution
Hi Champs,
Can any one help with the below command, It is not working.
Get-CsUser | Where-Object {$_.dialplan -eq "USDAL"} | Grant-CsLocationPolicy -PolicyName "Dallas Location Policy"
Regards
VijendharYou could try something like:
$userlist = Get-CsUser -ResultSize Unlimited
foreach ($user in $userlist)
if ($user.dialplan -eq $Null)
$pool = (Get-csdialplan | Where-Object {$_.Identity -like ("*" + $user.RegistrarPool)})
if ($pool.length -ge "1") {write-host ("Pool simple name: " + $pool.simplename + ", Identity: " + $pool.identity)}
if (($pool.simplename -eq "USDal") -or ($pool.identity -eq "USDal"))
Write-host "Please Grant location policy to: $user.Displayname"
# Get-csuser $user.identity | Grant-CsLocationPolicy -PolicyName "Dallas Location Policy"
$pool = $Null
Use at your own risk as I haven't had a chance to test, I have commented out the grant so you can test prior to changes.

Need help in restricting a result set from a UNION in MERGE
Hello,
Would really appreciate if anybody could help me out with the issue I am facing with the below statements (I am new to Oracle ):
merge into table_name_1 p
using
select p_key, value_1, value_2
from some_tables
UNION
select p_key, value_1, value_2
from some_tables
UNION
)t
on (p.p_key = t.p_key)
when matched then
update table_name_1 with value_1 and value_2
when not matched then
insert table_name_1 with p_key, value_1, value_2;
Now, the union of all those selects gives me distinct values and it works most of the times but when I get values like below, the merge fails:
p_key-----value_1-----value_2
100-----25-----50
100-----NULL-----50
I browsed the net and understood the reason behind this: the result set becomes ambiguous and merge doesn't know which row to insert first and which one to update.
Now, my requirement is: I could have any of the below scenario/result sets from the union and I need only 1 row per p_key -
result_set_1
p_key-----value_1-----value_2
100-----25-----50 ***************need this row
100-----NULL-----50
100-----NULL-----NULL
result_set_2
p_key-----value_1-----value_2
100-----25-----NULL ***************need this row
100-----NULL-----NULL
result_set_3
p_key-----value_1-----value_2
100-----25-----NULL ***************need this row (p_key = 100)
100-----NULL-----NULL
200-----NULL-----75 ***************need this row (p_key = 200)
200-----NULL-----NULL
300-----90-----95 ***************need this row (p_key = 300)
So, I basically need a way to restrict the values that I will get from the UNION of all those selects to fit the requirement above, hope I was able to explain the issue I am facing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DpunkIn all cases the goal is to find an order by value that will make the row you want be first.
The query I gave is calculating a priority for each row by adding up values showing whether each column is null or not null. The case statements check whether each column is null and need to be added up to give a total priority value.
Value_1 Value_2 Priority
Not Null Not Null 2 + 1 = 3
Not Null Null 2 + 0 = 2
Null Not Null 0 + 1 = 1
Null Null 0 + 0 = 0
The priority value ends up being a bitmap showing whether each value is null or not null. I think that reflects my mathematics background.
Another way of getting the same result (suggested to me by your asking why it needs the "+") would be to use two CASE expressions as separate order by items:
select p_key, value_1, value_2 from
(select p_key, value_1, value_2, row_number() over
(partition by p_key
order by case when value_1 is null then 0 else 1 end DESC,
case when value_2 is null then 0 else 1 end DESC
) as rn
from (your UNION query here)
where rn = 1
A third way is to use a more complex case statement:
select p_key, value_1, value_2 from
(select p_key, value_1, value_2, row_number() over
(partition by p_key
order by case when value_1 is NOT null and value_2 is NOT null then 1
when value_1 is NOT null and value_2 is null then 2
when value_1 is null and value_2 is NOT null then 3
when value_1 is null and value_2 is null then 4
end ASC
) as rn
from (your UNION query here)
where rn = 1 -

;Whenever you have a problem, please post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your sample data, as well as the results you want from that data. Explain, with specific examples, how you get the results you want from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using. The query above will work in Oracle 9.1 (and higher).
Since this is your first thread, I'll do this for you:
CREATE TABLE table_x
( column_1 NUMBER
, column_2 NUMBER
, column_3 VARCHAR2 (5)
, column_4 VARCHAR2 (5)
INSERT INTO table_x (column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) VALUES (253800, .25, '0845A', '0900A');
INSERT INTO table_x (column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) VALUES (253800, 1, '0900A', '1000A');
INSERT INTO table_x (column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) VALUES (253800, 1, '1300P', '1400P');
INSERT INTO table_x (column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) VALUES (253800, 1, '1500P', '1600P');
INSERT INTO table_x (column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) VALUES (253800, 1, '1600P', '1700P');Column_1 identifes a day.
Column_2 is an amount that I need to total.
Column_3 and column_4 are starting and ending times. We can assume that they are all valid times (in 'HH24MI' format, plus a redundant 'A' or 'P') on the same day, column_3 is always less than column_4, and that the range of two rows for the same value of column_1 never overlap. Column_4 of one row may be equal to column_3 of another rows with the same column_1, but it will never be greater.
Each row of the output represent a contiguous group of rows (each ending exactly when the next one begins) with the same column_1, with the common column_1, the total of column_2, and the range of the group.
For example, the first two rows for a single group, because they have the same value for column_1, and one ends exactly when the other begins (at 9:00 AM). This group represents day 253800, from 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM. The totla of column_2 fro this group is .25 + 1 = 1.25.
The next row (from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM) is a group all by itself, because there is a gap one either side of it separating it from its nearest neighbor on the same day."
Of course, I'm guessing at lots of things.

Low quality DVD outcome.. need help for high quality result ASAP!
Hi every 1,
(This is my first post, as I only got my iMac 2 weeks ago.. so please be gentle with me :P )
I have just been asked to turn a Microsoft powerpoint (PPT) into a DVD for "induction training video" purposes with voice overs and backing music. I have a professional music studio so providing high quality audio is fine, but trying to turn the power point into a high quality DVD file is my problem. This powerpoint has timing transitions (fade ins etc) for the timing of voice gaps. When using Microsoft PPT, you can turn the PPT into a Quicktime file which I was going to drop into iMoive then add the music and voiceovers.. this is when my problems started. Microsofts powerpoint doesn't add the transtiions and effect into render Quicktime movie, so I thought as my new iMac has iWork (KEYNOTE) I'd give it a try and to my surprise it all worked and the final mpeg4 quicktime movie result work great _when you look at it on the MAC_.
1) Problem
I then exported the file into iMovie and then my first Problem arose.... (grr). I movie lost it's sharpness and the images started to have pixelation.. that seemed to pulse in 1 seconds gaps.
I hope this was just an issue with the iMovie preview window and thought once I put it into iDVD and burnt it... the final result may be fine.. but I was wrong and the quality was crap... with the pixelation still there.
2) Problem
The other problem that came up was the about 25% of the edge of the total screen was cutoff. When i did the original file, I choose 4:3 ratio, and watched it on this..so where did the image size go wrong.. I also choose the "high quality" Quicktime file, but didn't go into the settings in the iMovie in the export section (which I should off), but after check the compression type was H.264.. and I also didn't change any settings in the 'export file' section in KEYNOTE.. this is where I think I must have gone wrong..
So in closing. my questions is:
-What's the best way to turn a PPT into a _high quality file_ so it looks professional once it goes through iMovie and iDVD.. or
- Should I just redo the whole production using iMovie ( by re doing all the work eg wording, transistion inside iMovie seems like a lot of extra word ) and so not use the PPT at all... and if I do this, then
- What's sizes, and ratio and compressions should I use for 4:3 ratio TV purpose (eg. whats size should a background image be that I do inside Photoshop, so I can put the transition wording over the top, so I see it on the TV screen and the edge doesn't get cutoff etc.?
I was very impressed with Keynote and would be happy to use this for most of the production.. but am I banging my head againist a wall...re fixing quality problems when exporting files into... can someone shed some light on this for me?
Sorry this is such a big post.. but I thought if I gave you most of the background you would have to ask so many questions.
Look forward to any help any 1 can provide..

Thx so much for your help.. it's really appreciated. This is by far the best result quality wise, (but I really am a perfectionist and personally are still not overall happy with the final product) but if my client is happy.. then I will continue down this track for this job.
ie Create TIFF;'s>Quicktime PRO>iMovie (transistions)>iDvd
You've been a great help and I hope it good enough for the client.
I find the images and wording lose their sharpness only after being imported into iMoive. I could still be probably enhance the quality level of the TIFF's once more, as I did the test slides in Keynote, then exported the 5 slides a individual as TIFFS out of Keynote, then imported the into QuickTime Pro as you suggested then followed your instructions all the way to the final burning of the CD. I also tried doing this in Photoshop using your suggestion of 720x576 images (for PAL) .. pixel aspect ratio to ~1.094 so you can see the correct proportions for 4:3 video output. When creating the new slide in Photoshop there were a few extra settings other than the ones you gave me... _so I would real appreciate what every setting should be when creating the NEW TIFF file in Photoshop for PAL 4:3._ I noticed when I did this the image crispness on the fonts was shithouse pixelated and shadows, even while looking at it from inside Photoshop )
As I tried mutliple ways of importing into iMovie (yours being the best suggestion) I really believe when dragging a TIFF or movie turns to blur on the way into iMoive. You can see the image is blurred from that point on.... _do I need to buy final cut pro or express to get a better image quality result?_
I also tried iMoive7, which I found was great to use video editing wise, but Apples has definitely stuffed up there by not give users a 'time line' to work with in the Audio section... but everything else in the video area was great to use.., but in my situation trying to line up the narration to slide, while having also background music is now impossible sadly.
Also I really like the 3D transitions in KEYNOTE, plus iMovie 7.. do you know if there are available for HD6 or if there's a 3rd party company that has smilar versions
Thx again,

Need help with loading MySQL results into a query
Hello, I need some help figuring out why my tree component
isn't being populated with my MySQL results.
I have a table of categories:
ParentID - CategoryID - Name
Every top-level category has a ParentID of 0 (zero). I'm
using php and a recursive function to build an array of nested
results, then passing those results back to Flex, making those
results a new ArrayCollection, then assigning that to the
dataProvider of the tree.
Result: my tree component is blank
Suspicion: it has to be a way with how my array is being
formed in PHP. If I play around with how it is formed I can get
some odd results in the tree, so I know it's not a problem with the
data being passed back to Flex.
I am attaching the PHP code used to form the array, and the
output of the array being createdWhy not just build xml and send it back? Xml is hierarchical
by nature.
However, if you want to stick with the nested ACs then are
you using a labelFunction() with your tree? The node values are in
different properties, so you can't just set labelField.

Need Help Urgently For Displaying RESULTS PER PAGE
i am comiling a serch engine throgh JSDK servlets and using a personal Oracle database. i currently have over 2000 records and when they are returned they are all being returned in one big table. i am trying to get the servlet to display so many results per page, for example 30 per page. I am at a loss on how to do this and have tried a number of methods, i urgently need to find a way of doing this as it is for a Major school project. I hope someone can help me i would be extremly greatful if someone could. Please
ThanksHello --
One way to do this would be something like this:
1. Start out with a page where filtering parameters could be entered, submit to the servlet with a starting position of 0.
2. Grab all the rows from the oracle database, toss them in an array.
3. Draw items in a table from the starting position to the number of entries per page from the array.
4. Put a Previous and Next button on the results page to submit back to the servlet in step 2 where the starting position is the current position - number of results per page for previous, next is the has a starting position of current position + number of results per page. You'll want to do range checking, etc on this.
The key trick is to ask one servlet to do steps 2-4. I've used hidden variables on the form with some javascript to set the new starting parameter for previous and next. You could assemble a URL in javascript also.
There are probably slicker ways to do this, but for 2000 rows, it should probably work well enough.
Good luck.

Need help on retrieving query result - NPE
Hi, I could get results with the native query in my TOAD, but I can't get it working in my session EJB. I tried both native query and EJB ql. The query created fine, as soon as I try to retrieve results, it gets stuck.
My native query looks like this:
Query query = em.createNativeQuery("select sum(o.amount_reimbursed) from t_expenses o where o.employee_id = '999999911' " +
"and o.EXPENSE_ID in (select p.expense_id from T_Per_Diem_Xref p where p.expense_Type_Xref_Id=22 " +
"and p.expense_Id in (select e.expense_Id from T_Expenses e where e.employee_Id='999999911' " +
"and e.expense_date > to_date('01/01/2011', 'mm/dd/yyyy') and e.expense_date < to_date('12/31/2011', 'mm/dd/yyyy')))") ;
My EJB query looks like this:
Query query = em.createQuery("select sum(o.amountReimbursed) from TExpenses o where o.employeeId = ?1 " +
"and o.expenseId in (select p.expenseId from TPerDiemXref p where p.expenseTypeXrefId=?2 " +
"and p.expenseId in (select e.expenseId from TExpenses e where e.employeeId=?1 and e.expenseDate>=?3 and e.expenseDate<=?4))");
query.setParameter(1, employeeId);
query.setParameter(2, expenseType);
query.setParameter(3, fDay, TemporalType.TIMESTAMP);
query.setParameter(4, lDay, TemporalType.TIMESTAMP);
Either one, I get NPE at the line retrieve result.
// sumAmt = (Double)query.getSingleResult();
List list = query.getResultList();
if (list != null) {
long longAmt = (Long)list.get(0);
sumAmt = (Double)list.get(0);
As you can see, I tried to getSingleResult, or getResultList. also tried to convert the result to Double or Long. None worked.
Please help and thank you for your time.
SophiaFrank, thank you for your reply. I have this code in my session Facade EJB, and I get the NPE in my backing bean which calls this method. When I debug the code, it appears what really cuases the problem is in this code on the line I try to assign the query result to my variable 'sumAmt = (Double)query.getSingleResult();'. In the debug, when it reaches this line, it starts to give me all kinds of pop-up windows saying couldn't find this file or that file or packages. If I get a stack trace later, I will post it. Right now I am trying to fix something else.
Thanks, Sophia -
Hi Guyz,
Request from our client is go get sum and average of certain key figures in a single line, The result should show only the sum of all key values and average of all key values , Am able to get the sum but unable get average of all values in a single line,
Would appreciate if I can get the solution Quick.
System : BW 3.5
Regards,
RaviHi,
Craete seperate CKF's to get SUM and AVERAGE rather than using the overall result.
Exception aggregation might help you.

Need help for showing top results
Hello everybody,
I am a little upset and do not know what to do furthermore. I have grouped data in my crystal report. This data is sorted by turnover values, as it shall. My Problem is that I only want to display the first ten lines within that group. How can I get this results, or asked in another way, how can I restrict the lines of data that are shown within a group in crystal reports?
Thank you for your adviceI found it by myself. I had to choose section assistent and paging.

Need help understanding security scan results.
My agency recently started using HP's Fortify Scan tool, which is designed to scan CF code directly, rather than the rendered page. The scanner always seems to flag our pages for a certain error when I use the following code (used to create a PDF on the fly):
<cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment;filename=#pdffile#">
<cfcontent type="application/octet-stream" file="#expandPath('.')#\#pdffile#" deletefile="Yes">
01. is line 299 in my code.
I'm basically generating a filename elsewhere on the page that's based on what a user is requesting, then using the code above to create a downloadable PDF of that file.
The error is:
Header Manipulation (Input Validation and Representation, Data Flow)
The file myfile.cfm includes unvalidated data in an HTTP response header on line 299. This enables attacks such as cache-poisoning, cross-site scripting, cross-user defacement, page hijacking, cookie manipulation or open redirect.
I'm thinking there's one of two potential issues.
expandpath() is exploitable
The scanner is programmed to flag any variable passed to a cfheader tag.
Any thoughts?You need to scope the pdffile variable. Without a specific scope it could be overwritten by incoming url or form variables. I would try that then run the scan again.

Need help in understanding the result logged in gateway log file

Thanks,
Peter
