i need you guys to help me show the way. i mean i have no experience doing this kinda work beforea but i wanna do it so please if any of you can provide me with some source or any other help (where can i find the examples regarding development)....
The project i have is :
The initial scope of work is to allow a user to first sign on to web hosting company (our company) user account. Once logged in they have the ability to quickly create a few pages web site. We will provide some sample (html) templates etc to the user.
The other feature of the tool will be to allow users to manage their website, add or delete pages, change format etcMicrosoft Access and MySQL databases will be used on respective systems (to save html templates).
The project will be hosted on unix and windows 2000. What do you suggest? which technology shall i use . jsp/servlet or php ... consider the performance and cost of both technologies and then answer

Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

A Series of Unfortunate Events - Any Ideas and help appreciated!

Four weeks ago, when performing some routine backups, I started to get error messages. Upon further research, I discovered my internal HD (Macintosh HD), was reporting an imminint failure. I started to use my external backup as my main HD until I could replace the internal. LIfe happened for a couple of weeks before I obtained a replacement HD, on a Thursday. Friday I would replace the internal HD and restore from the backup. Unfortunately, my backup HD refused to mount Friday, scuttling that plan.
First, I needed to diagnose the external HD. Both a local dealer and the manufacturer reported, after I described the problem and a diagnosis, that it was likely the power supply that was at fault. The company would send me a replacement at no cost. The problem is, the power supply was out of stock and I would have to wait a few weeks.
So I revert back to the internal HD, the one that has been reporting a imminent failure for a few weeks. Not wanting to work on a HD that might fail at any time, I made additional copies to CD/DVD of anything important, and installed the new HD. However, when I inserted the OS X install DVD disks, it would kick them out after about a minute. The internal SuperDrive has been rather sporadic for the last few years. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't. So I do most things using CD's or DVD's on an external Firewire DVD drive. However, my understanding is that I can use the install DVD's only in the internal SuperDrive. They will not work in an external DVD drive.
So in one last attempt to get things working, I decided to use my iPod as an external drive. Since I obviously couldn't copy 65G of data onto a 20G iPod, (2nd generation), I needed to copy only crucial information. Obviously a boot disk does not need my photos or music, or most applications, so they were not included. Anything related to printers I don't own were also canned. Anything I wasn't sure about I kept. I finally got a bootable image onto the iPod, or so I thought.
I go into startup disk in system preferences, choose the iPod, and restart. I tried it a couple of times. Each time I would get the infamous "kernel panic". No doubt something important was missing.
So my questions:
1. Is it possible to install the OS from disks using an external FW disk drive? Or must I use the internal SuperDrive?
2. Is it possible to use the OS X install disks to make a bootable copy on an iPod? How is this done?
3. Is there a definitive guide, when using a program like Carbon Copy Cloner (or another) on exactly what needs to be copied to create a working boot copy? Or is this trial and error? Is it even possible to create a boot disk on a 2nd generation iPod?
Any ideas or help is most welcome!!!

To diagnose your issues and suggest solutions, it is essential to know what model of Mini your have: G4 (2 usb ports); older Intel (4 usb ports); 2009 Intel (5 usb ports). Regarding the install discs: they must be from the same model as your Mini.

Need ideas and stuff for a new laptop or netbook.

Need ideas. I'm lookin to buy a new laptop soon. Next couple months. I want something that runs good, runs fast, doesn't have a lot of junk installed on it and something below $700 dollars (may pay more...just depends). Any brands that are good? I thought maybe getting a netbook because I really just need some small storage and an awesome internet. Would a netbook be good for that? I use verizon wireless on my laptop right now but I'm going to switch to AT&T soon.

In todays world of Net Books, 250 GB and 2 gb configurations are becoming standard. However, a majority of the Net Books out there still have the standard 1gb and 160gb hard drive configurations. You can upgrade the hard drives and memory in the newer Acer Netbooks now because of the redesign the did to the casing. The 8.9 inch net books Acer came out with could not allow the hardware upgrades because of their initial proprietary casing design. But with hacking and warranty voiding someone did it.
The bare minimum price you can expect to pay for a Net Book is $299 on average for the majority specs I posted. For better specs you will pay more for them.
Please always buy an optical drive with a Netbook or purchase a $399 laptop in the end for better flexibility.

Need info and help with ARD

I would really like to get some information and help that would enable me to troubleshoot my mother's new Mac Mini for her. She lives in CA and I live in WA. She is new to Macs and I just KNOW there will be lots of desperate phone calls from her to me!
I should say right up front, though, that although I do pretty well with my own Macs, I know almost nothing about THIS subject. So, please, any help or information you choose to give me, it will need to be in plain, old English as I don't understand all this stuff.
My setup is this: (I don't know what is relevant or not) ......I have a desktop G4 running 10.4.3 that will be the computer I will use to remotely control the Mini. The Mini is also running 10.4.3 (or will be when I get it set up for her). I am connected to the internet through a wireless connection to my ISP. I have a Linksys router and connect to that via Ethernet. We have 4 other computers here at home connected to our network wirelessly.
My Mom will connect to the internet using a modem and AOL
This is what I have done so far but I have not been able to make a connection. (As a test, before I go to CA and setup the Mini, I thought I’d try to remotely control my iBook, which is on my network.) On the iBook, I enabled ARD in the Sharing preferences and checked "VNC viewers nay control screen with password" and then entered a password. On my desktop computer, I downloaded Chicken of the VNC, entered in the info I needed (address of the iBook and password) but it would not connect.
I've read so much about clients, servers, etc. here lately that my head is swimming and I’m more confused than ever!
Can I even do what I'd like? It'd sure be a sweet deal for me and avoid a lot of frustration for my Mom .......who, incidentally, is switching to a Mac from a PC at the tender young age of 75! Cool, huh? I'd really like to make it as painless for her as possible.

Kernel panic with 1 long beep, need suggestions and helps on iMac 21.5

First of all, my iMac spec is as follows.
- iMac 21.5 inches Mid 2011 (Intel Core i5 2.5 Ghz)
- OS X version 10.7.4
- Memory 4 GB
My situation is that I experienced a first ever kernel panic. It forces me to restart the system. I followed that, and then whenever it boots up a one time long beep sound occurs. After that a flickering screen (white and black) with normal chime sound occurs, and repeat itself for 3-4 times before actually goes into a normal login screen.
Everything is normal, I can use any programs properly. But one thing I notice is that "serial number" is missing in "About this mac" option. I strongly remember that it's there since a time of purchase this iMac. I also take a look at System/Profiles and nothing there as well.
I also take a look at the kernal panic log in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter and /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports but can't find any relevant logs. There's just one file inside both 2 folders, and that log is dated which is not match to my incidence.
I tried remove out ram, and switch the slot between them, but it doesn't help.
Also I've tried reseting PRAM, but it doesn't help as well.
My iMac is within the warranty but outside of technical call.
Any suggestions and help would be very appreciated.

Hi all, I have recently been given a new work iphone. It was my bosses. He wants me to keep all his old contacts already on the iphone. However I will also need my old contacts from my own old phone(not iphone). I was wondering how I go about this?
This will be my first experience with iphones and so I know very little about them, however I am worried about itunes libraries. If I try to update my iphone software etc using itunes will I lose all my bosses contacts from the phone since I will obviously be using a new itunes library that is not his!

You'll need to restore your phone from the latest backup you made before he synced his phone.
To check if there is still a backup you can use, do this:
Open iTunes Preferences:
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click Devices (the iOS device doesn't need to be connected).
iTunes will show the phone number, IMEI, and serial number of the backed up iPhone when you position your mouse pointer over a backup (iTunes shows only the serial number for iPad and iPod touch). You can use this to find the backup you want to use.
Then restore from that backup by following this article:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Do the same with his device after that, using his old backup.
If you can't find one, set it up as new device without using any backup.

Need Update and Help

I recieved my computer two and a half years ago, but it took me until now to realize that I need to update my sever (it came with Panther OS X 10.3 I believe).
Getting an iPod just a week ago I have begun downloading 10.3.1 and so on, but I only updated with the update and not the server update also. Now that I tried to go back and reupdate with the server update 10.3.1 it says that I can't.
I really need help understanding what I need to do and which updates I need to use. Living in a Windows house my family is of no help.

* Go to the Apple Logo in the upper left hand corner, an select "About this Mac" Now you will see the version of the system you have running "my is saying MAC OSX 10.3.9
* Now you know what version of OSX your Mac is running. To update Panther 10.3x is the best way to use the combo update for Panther, you can download here ...

Here all the interviews are I am getting are scenario based and I am not able to reply most of them and as a result getting rejecting in every instance. . In my day to day work I am a part of DBA Monitoring team and everyday job is to monitor tablespace, listener, checking important mountpoint space, instance health check and backup monitoring, it is becoming boring day by day, hence I want to switch. But how to prepare for these typical scenarios based queries, I have both and single and Dataguard setup in my own laptop to play with but I am not getting any idea how to stimulate the different scenario's which can help me to crack the interviews.
Any idea/advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated and will be followed diligently. Thanks in advance.

actually as a DBA you have to do practice/play on your laptop or test environments...lots of things are there to do....
how to prepare myself to reply those type problem scenario's and their solutions

example: 1st thing is you have to learn oracle architecture and gain the sound knowledge on that.... book expert oracle architecture by thomas kyte...
2:backup and recovery ....every interviewer is expecting more info from you ..in this category...i hope..you have to practice various scenorious on your test machine ...
like some of below....take a full backup of your database before proceeding any.R&D....
1:datafile loss...system datafile losss... delete from the disk and try to restore/recover the db....do practice by using offline backup/online bcakup...
2 redo corruption....modifing redo log size....
3)controfile corruption/lost
4)data gaurd archive log missing sequence like gap at standby side..wrt primary.....break the N/W connection try this scenario...practice switch over/fail over scenarious..etc..
5)practice point in time recovery....
6)take hot backup of database practice above ones...like datafile lost/corruption...etc...
7) unconsciously table drop...flashback technology...
8)RMAN..beauty of oracle...lots of thing are there to play on test by using RMAN...
configuration....show all...it will give you the some conf parameter try to read each and every conf parameter do if its configure other than default...if you ..backup..restore...of any file missing...like datafile missing controfile file missing..etc...practice/play RMAN cmds....
now a days every interviewer will ask lots of things about RMAN....
9) do the cloning by using offline backup/online backup/RMAN

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to get started with ExportPDF. This document will tell you what you need to know: Getting Started with ExportPDF.
There's nothing to install: you just go to exportpdf.acrobat.com and sign in with your Adobe ID and password. Once you're logged in, select the file that you want to convert, choose Excel from the Export Format menu, and then click Export.

Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
Troubleshooting advice can depend on that information.

I've installed 3 different RSS readers and none of them "grab" the default flag for RSS feeds.
I've also uninstalled the Podcasts.app, then re-installed a couple of the readers and Safari still has no idea what to do with them.
What's most annoying is that Safari declares it doesn't know what to do with a feed and offers to load the iTunes Store so I can pick an RSS Reader to install, and then the iTunes app declares it can't connect to the store (even when I'm already on the store or downloading an application at the time).
And yeah, I've tried the fixes for the cannot connect errors (Date/Time flip, reinstall bought app, setting DNS to Google even though it was already fine, and clearing Safari's cache just in case).
This is absolutely pathetic.
