I need info on basic stuffs for SAP business one 2007 . I tried searching in forums and help but was not able to gather good info...
Request u to pls guide me on :
1. What is SAP bsuiness one 2007 and how it is diff from ecc 6 etc ..?
2. How it is benefical for small and mid size businesses ?
3, How much is the Cost / licence ? ( if it can be discussed here ! )
4. How many users it can cater to ? I mean what is min and max suggeted ...

Error when starting SAP Business One Integration Server Service

Hi all,
I have a very urgent problem when installing B1iSN:
I'm installing B1iSN2007 for a customer (Windows server2008R2, SBO 8.8.1),
and at the beginning of the installation, after instaling the technology, I have an error,
The Tomcat server can't start.
I get the following error:
Windows could not start the SAP Business One Integartion service on Local Computer. For more Information, review the system
event Log.If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 0.
In the event viewer I didn't find any more details.
In the tomcat logs (Under SAP Business One Integration\B1iServer\tomcat\logs) I find this:

I didn't install EventSender and DIProxy yet, I tried first to upload and deploy the zip files, but I couldn't open the Itegration Application Explorer.
2.
The jvm.dll file is in in the folder pointed by the logs: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One Integration\jdk1.5.0_xx_sap\jre\bin\server
and it is also in C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One Integration\jdk1.5.0_xx_sap_64\jre\bin\server
I tried running the file java5w.exe, but I got an error message:
Access is denied
Unable to open the service tomcat5
Thne I managed to open it by "rua as administrator".
the Java Virtual Machine path is points to the java 1.5 version folder.
Is it possible that the reason that the service can't start is related to administrator rigts??
In the properties in the Integration Service (services.msc):
It is set to be run with the local system account.
all other properties looks fine.
in the properties of the tomcat5.exe (and tomcat5w.exe , I tried both)
In the Compatibility tab I tried setting the flag "Run this program in compatibility mode for" to Vista, windows 7, and server 2008
I didn't have the option of Windows XP.
I have also set the Privilege level of: "Run this program as administrator" to true.
But still the service won't start.
What can be the problem?
What else can I check?

I have installed Chinese Demo Company, but the language rendering is not right on my PC. It shows bunch of boxes. My PC is running windows XP and installed for North America Settings. What do I need to do to make SAP Business ONE Chinese Demo Company display in Mandarin/Simple Chinese?

For all discussions arround SAP Business One and the new Add-On Crystal Reports we have at the moment one [Thread|SAP Business One and Crystal Reports; with very high contribution.
So we would like to ask you, if a new Forum is needed and if yes where to put it (beneath the SAP Business One Forums or the Business Objects Forums)?

Having experience both SAP Business One and Business Objects, I would suggest that all reporting aspects of Crystal Reports should stay in Business Objects Forum.
I would still agree to create a sub-forum for Crystal Reports in SAP Business One, as long as the topics are more of the integration of Crystal Reports with SAP B1.

SAP Business One Studio Help needed...

Hi,
I'm having a lot of difficulties making a form working in SAP using SAP Business One Studio.
The first problem is that half of the controls on the form is anchored to the right so when I resize the form, it's not right as shown in this screenshot.
The question for this problem is that how do we control this behavior of anchor ? I tried all the possible properties and did not found a solution to control it. See screenshot bellow :
The second problem is that I need to surround all the controls in the middle with a vertical scrolling but keeping the bottom anchored and it's actuall not pretty as sown in the second screenshot. First let me show you what it looks like when I start the form in SAP :
And if I resize the form a scrollbar appears but doesn't let me see all the form anyway. So what is going on and what do I have to do to make a form right according to the content ?

i just had the same problem and went trough Edy Simon( Mar 28, 2014 7:54 AM (in response to Marc Roussel) ) description and solved my problem.
on the form code behind, i've created a method as shown bellow... As Edy mentioned, i couldn't find a instance where Item.count equal to zero. therefor i created a private variable call " _isResizeAfterCalled " to track the status...

Running SAP Business One on a 64-bit server

One of our clients wants to upgrade their server to a 64-bit server running Windows Server 2008.
What are the implications of this and do we also need to then use Microsoft SQL Server 2008?
I went to this web link: https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/smb/sbo/platforms and found some info, but the questions I still have is the following:
1. If we upgrade to SQL 2008, do we have to buy licenses or can we also just get an installation from SAP with our software (if we've gone live over 2 years ago already on SQL 2000, then upgraded to SQL 2005).
2. Can we still stay on SQL 2005 or is it better to use SQL 2008 and what is the implications?
I found the following on the link posted above:

What exactly does the bold part mean?

Hi Adele,
"64-bit and WTS support are still pending and will be announced when available" means that Windows 2008 64bit has not been tested working with SAP Business One yet. Thus not supported (yet).
Same applies to W indows T erminal S erver 32bit and 64bit.

Yes, you can still stay on MSSQL 2005 and upgrade later to MSSQL 2008. The other way around will not work. MSSQL 2008 is currently supported only as of SAP Business One 2007 A PL47 or SAP Business One 2007 B PL10. Hide and activate fields in SAP Business One

Hi,
How do I see the following in SAP Business one 2007 A?
1 - Where do I see the option of hiding or making a filed mandatory, optional etc.? Can i hide some fields in A/P invoice entry? How do I do that?
2 - How do I create a field or a column which will populate necessary details. For example..How do I create a column named amount in the A/P invoice so that it shows the corresponding amout of the invoice near the column named Invoice number?
3 - How to access a particular column from a table structure? Do I need to write an SQL query for this?
4 - How to pull up a field from a table and make is visible for the users? Do I need to be an ABAP expert for this?
5 - What are stored procedures?

Yes, you write the query by going to Tools->Query Generator.
You need to know the FMS number for the varialbe AMOUNT you created.
You can know that by turning on debug info View->Ssystem Info, and then placing your cursor on AMOUNT. At the bottom left know its FMS variable number. There are multiple ways of dealing with.
Use the above variable in the Query Generator with a $ sign. Save the query. General (some name)
Then attach the above query to AMOUNT ShiftF2 and click to dril down to saved query and attach it. Choose the type refreshment.
I am missing out on some small details, but you have to try it you will get there.

Incorrect font when print a crystal report in SAP Business One

I design a report in Business Object basic edition 2008 and work without problems with the business object application. But if I use the crystal report integration in SAP Business One screens the report print the information with a wrong font, do not use the utility font used in the report configuration. I need help in this !!!!!

First I've heard of the software. I suspect it can take a while to find a Mac user who can share experiences about a business package
The question of software compatibility is up to the software developer. I looked at their web site but, like too many other developers, they do not make system requirements easy to find. You need to contact them and ask if they support Macintosh and, if so, what levels of the Mac OS are supported.
If it is a Windows-only product (which I suspect it is) you have two options on a Mac:
1) Buy a recent version fo Windows and use Apple's BootCamp technology to partition your drive. Yu can then boot into either the Mac or the Windows OS.
2) Get a Windows emulation program like Parallels or VM FusionWare. You still need a copy of Windows. With these, Windows may b a little slower than in native booting via BootCamp, but you have the advantage of being able to switch between Mac and Windows on the fly, without a restart.

Hallo zusammen,
mir ist es soeben gelungen mit meinem iPhone eine Verbindung (zumindest im Wlan-Netz )herzustellen.
Hoffe das klappt bei euch genauso.
Ich habe folgendes gemacht:
1. Beim Benutzer den Haken bei "Mobile-Benutzer" gesetzt
2. Dann die Mobilfunknummer eingetragen
3. Dann die UUID vom iPhone eingetragen (die ewig lange Nummer)
4. Dann dem Benutzer eine B1i-Lizenz zugewiesen
5. Auf dem iPhone in den Einstellungen eingetragen:
Server: <IP-Adresse>:8080 (dort musss die B1i installiert sein und laufen)
SSL hab ich ausgemacht, da deswegen eine Fehlermeldung beim Verbinden kam
Benutzercode: Benutzer aus SAP wo ich meine Mobilnummern und UUID eingetragen habe
Mobiltelefon: meine Mobilnummer
Fertig.
Dauert beim Verbinden eventuell eine gewisse Zeit aber dann funktioniert es super.

ALD Failed to conect to Sap Business One

Hi, i install a client in my PC, so when i log in in SBO,so SBO tells me that i need install ALD "its ok, i need it", the install runs rigth, and now i have ALD in my client, i close SBO and openin again.
Therefore in the init, before i can´t make anything, send me a system message error "Resource error", i click ok, inmediatly another system message "initialization failed" click ok, then another error out of SBO, header "SAP Business One Outlook Advanced Layout Designer", body "Failed to conect to SAP Business One"
After click Ok, in the last message, i can work with SBO but i can not open ALD, no even print preferences " the 5° check box".
i did everything i think, reinstall, reg scan, a new DB in sap, nothing works.
so i someone can help me, thaks to everyone.

Crystal Reports Dynamic Parameters with SAP Business One

Okay, I've got this very strange issue with dynamic parameters in Crystal Reports connected to SAP Business One.
Let's start with the software versions:
- Crystal Reports 12.3.0.601
- SAP Business One 8.8 (8.80.231) SP: 00 PL: 13
- Windows XP SP3
(SBO Server on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005)
What I'm about to describe is something I've tried in several reports and for which I created a very, very simple test report to see if it was reproducible in a very simple situation.
- I connected to a Business One server through CR's SBO connection type. Logon is successful, tables are shown.
- I pick OCRD and plac CardCode and CardName in the details section on the report. Previewing the report shows data.
- I create a dynamic parameter on CardCode and in the Select Expert I select the CardCode field and define that that should be equal to the parameter.
- I preview the report again. Now it asks me in such a parameter screen for logon credentials. It shows the server and database it tries to connect to and in the username it shows the SQL Server username I used to connect to the SQL Server in the first place. However, the password for that user is not accepted. I also tried to login with the Windows administrator user and with the SBO manager user, but no success with any attempt.
I also tried to add a static parameter and add all database values to the list. Same screen, different result:

(On a side note: the report is saved as report1.rpt)

When you have fixed your crystal installation following the note posted earlier, please take a look at the [how to guide|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000882232009E.pdf] and also at the [e-learning|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700001370262010E] about SAP Business One 8.8 and Crystal Reports.
There are so called "tokens" which you need to use instead of dynamic parameters.
Dynamic paramters don't work in SAP Business One 8.8, if they are not defined as a static paramter with token.
