Need information/documentation related to ADFx function type

Hi Guru's,
We have a requirement to invoke external ADF application from EBS/OAF R12.1.3.
Form the forum sources, I found that we can make use of "ADFx" function type in R12.1.3 to invoke external ADF URL.
We need to pass some parameters while we invoke the ADF URL.
Please help me with any dev guide/documentation on the usage of ADFx function type.
Any help in this regard would be a great help!!
Thanks!!

  • Documentation for new Planning function types in 2004s

    Hello,
    We are analyzing the impact of migrating former BPS exit planning funtions to the new BI Planning function types. In fact, we are checking the SAP procedure for reusing the BPS exits from BI Planning, although I would like to know if there is some kind of procedure or documentation (I have already read the documentation in Business planning developer guide) for a quick reimplementation in BIP.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Need Information ..Related to temp Space

    Hi all,
    I want to know tht is there any in Oracle to create logical table tht will not b in existence after it is no longer in use..
    Like i have 1 procedure in which 1 query will fetch some records and i have to store tht resultset in some temp table tht is not required after da procedure ends..
    I want to use da date for processing forward ..but at last i dnt need tht space which is havin resultset now..
    I dnt want to use cursor b'coz again i have to declare some local variables to get value from tht..
    Right now i m creating table dynamically and at last i m droppin it .. but when 2 user use da proc at same time it will give err Table name already in use..
    So wt i need tht for each user a temporary table will b created and at last tht will b droped ..no physical existence shud b there..
    I have used GLOBAL Temporary Table but tht also not giving desired result..
    Ps suggest me any way to do it..

    Do you use your telephone to post to this forum ?
    Why isn't the GTT solving the problem for you ? Is it for any reason other than the fact that it persists as an object after the procedure has finished ?
    You have said that if more than one person runs the procedure, then with an "on-the-fly" table this causes problems with "table already exists/does not exist". So the GTT solves that issue nicely.
    And if more than one person is running it, then surely you have a longer-term need for it than just one run ?
    Just use the GTT and unless you want all traces removed because you are up to no good, then live with the fact that the table exists and your procedure/package is still valid. You want to get rid of them ? Drop them after or make a call to DBMS_JOB as the very last line of your procedure to drop both the table and the procedure in n minutes time.

  • NEED INFORMATION ABOUT "MAX_TEST" FUNCTION MODULE

    HI ABAPERS,
                      I need information about "MAX_TEST" function module . this function module is used in 4.6 version , now system have been shifted to 6.0.....here in 6.0 version this function module is not prasent.can any one tell me which new function module we can use in place of this function module, without changing the functionality........
             Thanks in advance
    regards,
    SUNIL

    The module is not very sophisticated. Profficiency in Java or ABAP will be a great bonus here. There are plenty of good materials regarding XI on SDN. I suggest to start with step-by-step guides and master all basic integration scenarios
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/Step-by-Step+Guides
    Opportunities in industry are not bad also, cause PI is rather popular among customers. The best thing is that it fits any type of customer's business. Integration is demanded almost everywhere.

  • How do I code relative links as function parameters within Templates?

    I am a newcomer looking for best practices for a "How Do I?" properly code relative links as function parameters within an Adobe template (DWT) which accomodates page creation at 2 different level of folders. Dreamweaver doesn't appear to handle auto-correction of relative links as function parameters as far as I can see.  It's not clear to me what the best practice I should be following.  While this is not exactly a SPRY question, I am hoping that someone using the Spry.Data.XMLDataSet had already found the best practice to use.
    My Site
    -- Multiple pages at this level    and the parameter needs to be "_includes/UnitSideNavigation.xml"
    SubFolder
    -- Other pages at this level.       and the parameter needs to be "../_includes/UnitSideNavigation.xml"
    And this is the particular code snippet within a non edtable template area I would like to work for 2 levels of pages created from the template.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var dsItems1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("_includes/UnitSideNavigation.xml", "/links/firstlevel");
    var dslinks = new Spry.Data.NestedXMLDataSet(dsItems1, "secondlevels/secondlevel");
    </script>
    My environment is Windows/Vista using latest CS4 dreamweaver.
    Any pointers appreciated. This is learn time for me. Hope I have made myself clear. Andy

    I use serverside includes instead of DWT for exactly that reason. Not only that, if you change anything within the template you must re-upload all of the files affected by the change; only the modified include file needs to be uploaded.

    Also, have you got the best practices for this step?
    Thanks a lot for your help
    Regards
    Hocine NAÏ

    Hello,
    For notification, first you need to create a repository of generic type and provide the lotus notus host details in the repository constant.
    Eg:
    EMAIL_SERVER                     abc.def.com
    EMAIL_ORIGINATOR              orignator mail ID
    Then create a task with the "To Generic" type Pass.
    Select the name of the function below in the Next data entry of the Destination tab of the pass.
    and provide the attribute and value as below:
    MSKEYVALUE                                   %MSKEYVALUE%
    EMAIL_RECIPIENT                               recipients mail ID
    EMAIL_SUBJECT                                 Hello %DISPLAYANEM%
    LOCATION                                          %LOCATION%
    Eg of a Function to sent mail is shown below:
    function SendEmail(Par){
         Recipient = Par.get("EMAIL_RECIPIENT");
         Subject = Par.get("EMAIL_SUBJECT")
         Location = Par.get("LOCATION");
         Body = "This is a report from SAP NetWeaver Identity Center at %$ddm.date% %$ddm.time%<BR><BR>";
         Body = Body + "Your location is <B>" + Location + "</B><BR>";
         Body = Body + "<BR>";
         Body = Body + "Best regards<BR>";
         Body = Body + "MaXware AS<BR>";
         UserFunc.uSendSMTPMessage("%$glb.EMAIL_ORIGINATOR%", Recipient,Subject,Body,"%$glb.EMAIL_SERVER%",1);

    Hi Rama
    Retailing consists of the sale of goods or merchandise, from a fixed location such as a department store or kiosk, in small or individual lots for direct consumption by the purchaser.[1] Retailing may include subordinated services, such as delivery. Purchasers may be individuals or businesses. In commerce, a retailer buys goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells smaller quantities to the end-user. Retail establishments are often called shops or stores. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a necessary part of their overall distribution strategy.
    Shops may be on residential streets, shopping streets with few or no houses, or in a shopping center or mall, but are mostly found in the central business district. Shopping streets may be for pedestrians only. Sometimes a shopping street has a partial or full roof to protect customers from precipitation. Retailers often provided boardwalks in front of their stores to protect customers from the mud. Online retailing, also known as e-commerce is the latest form of non-shop retailing (cf. mail order).
    Shopping generally refers to the act of buying products. Sometimes this is done to obtain necessities such as food and clothing; sometimes it is done as a recreational activity. Recreational shopping often involves window shopping (just looking, not buying) and browsing and does not always result in a purchase.
    Most retailers have employees learn facing, a hyperreal tool used to create the look of a perfectly-stocked store even when it is not.

    [edit] Retail pricing
    The pricing technique used by most retailers is cost-plus pricing. This involves adding a markup amount (or percentage) to the retailers cost. Another common technique is suggested retail pricing. This simply involves charging the amount suggested by the manufacturer and usually printed on the product bize the manufacturer.
    In Western countries, retail prices are often so-called psychological prices or odd prices: a little less than a round number, e.g. $6.95. In Chinese societies, prices are generally either a round number or sometimes a lucky number. This creates price points.
    Often prices are fixed and displayed on signs or labels. Alternatively, there can be price discrimination for a variety of reasons, where the retailer charges higher prices to some customers and lower prices to others. For example, a customer may have to pay more if the seller determines that he or she is willing to. The retailer may conclude this due to the customer's wealth, carelessness, lack of knowledge, or eagerness to buy. Another example is the practice of discounting for youths or students. Price discrimination can lead to a bargaining situation often called haggling, in which the parties negotiate about the price. Economists see this as determining how the transaction's total surplus will be divided into consumer and producer surplus. Neither party has a clear advantage, because of the threat of no sale, in which case the surplus vanishes for both.
    Retailers who are overstocked, or need to raise cash to renew stocks may resort to "Sales", where prices are "marked down", often by advertised percentages - "50% off" for example."Sales" are often held at fixed times of the year, for example January sales, or end-of-season sales, or Blue Cross Sale
    [edit] Retail Industry
    Retail Industry has brought in phenomenal changes in the whole process of production, distribution and consumption of Consumer Goods all over the world. In the present world most of the developed economies are using the Retail Industry as their vital growth instrument. At present, among all the industries of U.S.A the Retail Industry holds the second place in terms of Employment Generation. In fact, the strength of the Retail Industry lies in its ability to generate large volume of employment.
    Not only U.S but also the other developed countries like U.K, Canada, France, Germany are experiencing tremendous growth in their Retail Sectors. This boom in the Global Retail Industry was in many ways accelerated by the Liberalization of Retail Sector.
    Observing this global upward trend of Retail Industry, now the developing countries like India are also planning to tap the enormous potential of the retail sector. Wal-Mart,the world's largest Retailer has been invited to India. Other popular Brands like Pantaloons, Big Bazar, Archies are rapidly increasing their market share in the retail sector. According to a survey, within 5 years, the Indian Retail Industry is expected to generate 10 to 15 million jobs by direct and indirect effects. This huge employment generation can be possible because of the fact that being dependent on the the Retail Sector shares a lot of Forward and Backward Linkages.
    Emergence of a strong Retail Sector can contribute immensely to the economic development of any country. With a dominant retail sector, the farmers and other suppliers can sell their produce directly to the major retail companies and can ensure stable profit. On the other hand, to ensure steady supply of goods, the Retail Companies can inject cash into the production system. This whole process can result into a more efficient production and distribution system for the economy as a whole.
    [edit] Etymology
    Retail comes from the French word retaillier which refers to "cutting off, clip and divide" in terms of tailoring (1365). It first was recorded as a noun with the meaning of a "sale in small quantities" in 1433 (French). Its literal meaning for retail was to "cut off, shred, paring". Like the French, the word retail in both Dutch and German (detailhandel and Einzelhandel respectively) also refer to sale of small quantities or items.[citation needed]
    [edit] Retail types
    According to Jim there are three major types of retailing. The first is the market, a physical location where buyers and sellers converge. Usually this is done in town squares, sidewalks or designated streets and may involve the construction of temporary structures (market stalls). The second form is shop or store trading. Some shops use counter-service, where goods are out of reach of buyers, and must be obtained from the seller. This type of retail is common for small expensive items (e.g. jewelry) and controlled items like medicine and liquor. Self-service, where goods may be handled and examined prior to purchase, has become more common since the Twentieth Century. A third form of retail is virtual retail, where products are ordered via mail, telephone or online without having been examined physically but instead in a catalog, on television or on a website. Sometimes this kind of retailing replicates existing retail types such as online shops or virtual marketplaces such as futurebazaar.com or Amazon.[2].
    Buildings for retail have changed considerably over time. Market halls were constructed in the Middle Ages, which were essentially just covered marketplaces. The first shops in the modern sense used to deal with just one type of article, and usually adjoined the producer (baker, tailor, cobbler). In the nineteenth century, in France, arcades were invented, which were a street of several different shops, roofed over. counters, each dealing with a different kind of article was invented; it was called a department store. One of the novelties of the department store was the introduction of fixed prices, making haggling unnecessary, and browsing more enjoyable. This is commonly considered the birth of consumerism [3]. In cities, these were multi-story buildings which pioneered the escalator.
    In the 1920s the first supermarket opened in the United States, heralding in a new era of retail: self-service. Around the same time the first shopping mall was constructed [4] which incorporated elements from both the arcade and the department store. A mall consists of several department stores linked by arcades (many of whose shops are owned by the same firm under different names). The design was perfected by the Austrian architecht Victor Gruen[5]. All the stores rent their space from the mall owner. By mid-century, most of these were being developed as single enclosed, climate-controlled, projects in suburban areas. The mall has had a considerable impact on the retail structure and urban development in the United States. [6]
    In addition to the enclosed malls, there are also strip malls which are 'outside' malls (in Britain they are called retail parks. These are often comprised of one or more big box stores or superstores.
    Non-traditional exterior of a SuperTarget, JacksonvilleLocal shops can be known as brick and mortar stores in the United States. Many shops are part of a chain: a number of similar shops with the same name selling the same products in different locations. The shops may be owned by one company, or there may be a franchising company that has franchising agreements with the shop owners (see also restaurant chain).
    Some shops sell second-hand goods. Often the public can also sell goods to such shops, sometimes called 'pawn' shops. In other cases, especially in the case of a nonprofit shop, the public donates goods to the shop to be sold (see also thrift store). In give-away shops goods can be taken for free.
    There are also 'consignment' shops, which is where a person can place an item in a store, and if it sells the person gives the shop owner a percentage of the sale price. The advantage of selling an item this way is that the established shop give the item exposure to more potential buyers.
    The term retailer is also applied where a service provider services the needs of a large number of individuals, such as with telephone or electric power.
    IS Retail was original develop to meet specific needs of Retail industry where standard SD/MM cannot.
    - Significant functionality difference are:
    - Store specific features are built into IS Retail where as it is not in
    standard SD/MM.
    - Mass processing of pricing (some of the retail features were
    included as standard SAP as of 4.6)
    - Assortment handling is not in standard SAP
    There are other differences in inventory costing/valuation etc.
    Retail valuation only available in SAP Retail.
    What is known in the trade as the "retail inventory method" or the "retail method" involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level.
    Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
    Actually IS-Retail is a combination of MM and SD plus other funtionalities speacially developed for the retail industry such as:
    Promotions
    Pricing
    Assortments
    Clasification
    Merchandise category
    Seasons
    Is important to mention that all the funtionality of MM and SD is avialable in SAP IS-Retail with some diferences in some transactions:
    Material master data (article in retail) has some diferences.
    Vendor master data.
    Site master data.

  • Need information about interfaces and namespaces in actionscript 3.0

    Hi,
    I need information about actionscript interfaces and
    namespaces, I'm preparing for ACE for Flash CS3 and I need to learn
    about this subjects and I can not find resources or simple examples
    that make these subjects understandable.
    Anybody can help me!
    Thanks a lot.

    Interfaces (cont.)
    Perhaps the most useful feature of interfaces is that you not
    only can define the data type but also method signature of the
    class that implements this interface. In other words, interface can
    define and enforce what methods class MUST implement. This is very
    useful when classes are branching in packages and team of
    developers works on a large application among others.
    The general syntax for an Interface with method signatures is
    written the following way:
    package{
    public interface InterfaceName {
    // here we specify the methods that will heave to be
    implemented
    function method1 (var1:dataType,
    var2:datType,…):returnType;
    function method2 (var1:dataType,
    var2:datType,…):returnType;
    To the previous example:
    package{
    public interface IQualified {
    function method1 ():void;
    function method2 ():int;
    Let’s write a class that implements it.
    If I just write:
    package{
    public class ClassOne extends DisplayObject implements
    IQualified {
    public function ClassOne(){}
    I will get a compilation error that states that I did not
    implement required by the interface methods.
    Now let’s implement only one method:
    package{
    public class ClassOne extends DisplayObject implements
    IQualified {
    private function method1():void{
    return;
    public function ClassOne(){}
    I will get the error again because I implemented only one out
    of two required methods.
    Now let’s implement all of them:
    package{
    public class ClassOne extends DisplayObject implements
    IQualified {
    private function method1():void{
    return;
    private function method2():int{
    return 4;
    public function ClassOne(){}
    Now everything works OK.
    Now let’s screw with return datatypes. I attempt to
    return String instead of void in method1 in ClassOne:
    private function method1():String{
    return “blah”;
    I am getting an error again – Interface requires that
    the method1 returns void.
    Now let’s attempt to pass something into the method1:
    private function method1(obj:MovieClip):void{
    return;
    Oops! An error again. Interface specified that the function
    doesn’t accept any parameters.
    Now rewrite the interface:
    package{
    public interface IQualified {
    function method1 (obj:MovieClip):void;
    function method2 ():int;
    Now compiler stops complaining.
    But, if we revert the class back to:
    private function method1():void{
    return;
    compiler starts complaining again because we don’t pass
    any parameters into the function.
    The point is that interface is sort of a set of rules. In a
    simple language, if it is stated:
    public class ClassOne implements IQualified
    it says: “I, class ClassOne, pledge to abide by all the
    rules that IQualified has established and I will not function
    correctly if I fail to do so in any way. (IMPORTANT) I can do more,
    of course, but NOT LESS.”
    Of course the class that implements an interface can have
    more that number of methods the corresponding interface requires
    – but never less.
    MORE means that in addition to any number of functions it can
    implement as many interfaces as it is desired.
    For instance, I have three interfaces:
    package{
    public interface InterfaceOne {
    function method1 ():void;
    function method2 ():int;
    package{
    public interface InterfaceTwo {
    function method3 ():void;
    package{
    public interface InterfaceThree{
    function method4 ():void;
    If our class promises to implement all three interface it
    must have all four classes in it’s signature:
    package{
    public class ClassOne extends DisplayObject implements
    InterfaceOne, InterfaceTwi, InterfaceThree{
    private function method1():void{return;}
    private function method2():int{return 4;}
    private function method3():void{return;}
    private function method4():void{return;}
    public function ClassOne(){}
    Hope it helps.

  • Does anyone have documentation regarding the distribution accounting type of APAF?

    The AP Accounting Entry Type (distribution accounting type) as delivered by PeopleSoft we are most familiar with is "APA" which stands for Accounts Payable Accrual.  We are not able to find any reference or documentation regarding AP Accounting Entry Type "APAF".  However, after analyzing the AP payment accounting transactions associated with APAF, we believe that the APAF type only shows up when a credit is deducted from a payment.  The AP voucher that has the APAF type is the last voucher that indicates that the entire credit amount has been applied to that particular payments.  A credit amount may take several vouchers to be fully applied.  Documentation or authoritative information would be helpful.

  • Need some help with the Table Function Operator

    I'm on OWB 10gR2 for Sun/Solaris 10 going against some 10gR2 DB's...
    I've been searching up and down trying to figure out how to make OWB use a Table Function (TF) which will JOIN with another table; allowing a column of the joined table to be a parameter in to the TF. I can't seem to get it to work. I'm able to get this to work in regular SQL, though. Here's the setup:
    -- Source Table:
    DROP TABLE "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX";
    CREATE TABLE "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX"
    ( "ID" NUMBER(8,0),
    "ROOM_NUMBER" VARCHAR2(200),
    "FEATURES" VARCHAR2(4000)
    -- Example Data:
    Insert into ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX (ID,ROOM_NUMBER,FEATURES) values (1,'Room 1',null);
    Insert into ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX (ID,ROOM_NUMBER,FEATURES) values (2,'Room 2',null);
    Insert into ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX (ID,ROOM_NUMBER,FEATURES) values (3,'Room 3','1,1;2,3;');
    Insert into ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX (ID,ROOM_NUMBER,FEATURES) values (4,'Room 4','5,2;5,4;');
    Insert into ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX (ID,ROOM_NUMBER,FEATURES) values (5,'Room 5',' ');

    -- Package Body:
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    PACKAGE BODY ZZZ_SANDBOX_EX IS
    FUNCTION UNFK(inputString VARCHAR2) RETURN FK_Table_EX
    AS
    RETURN_VALUE FK_Table_EX := FK_Table_EX();
    i NUMBER(8,0) := 0;
    BEGIN
    -- TODO: Put some real code in here that will actually read the
    -- input string, parse it out, and put data in to RETURN_VALUE
    WHILE(i < 3) LOOP
    RETURN_VALUE.EXTEND;
    RETURN_VALUE(RETURN_VALUE.LAST) := FK_Row_EX(4, 5);
    i := i + 1;
    END LOOP;
    RETURN RETURN_VALUE;
    END UNFK;
    END ZZZ_SANDBOX_EX;
    I've got a source system built by lazy DBA's and app developers who decided to store foreign keys for many-to-many relationships as delimited structures in driving tables. I need to build a generic table function to parse this data and return it as an actual table. In my example code, I don't actually have the parsing part written yet (I need to see how many different formats the source system uses first) so I just threw in some stub code to generate a few rows of 4's and 5's to return.
    I can get the data from my source table to my destination table using the following SQL statement:
    -- from source table joined with table function
    INSERT INTO ZZZ_ROOM_FEATURES_EX(
    ROOM_NUMBER,
    FEATUREID,
    QUANTITY)
    SELECT
    ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX.ROOM_NUMBER,
    UNFK.ID,
    UNFK.QUANTITY
    FROM
    ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX,
    TABLE(ZZZ_SANDBOX_EX.UNFK(ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX.FEATURES)) UNFK
    Now, the big question is--how do I do this from OWB? I've tried several different variations of my function and settings in OWB to see if I can build a single SELECT statement which joins a regular table with a table function--but none of them seem to work, I end up getting SQL generated that won't compile because it doesn't see the source table right:
    INSERT
    /*+ APPEND PARALLEL("ZZZ_ROOM_FEATURES_EX") */
    INTO
    "ZZZ_ROOM_FEATURES_EX"
    ("ROOM_NUMBER",
    "FEATUREID",
    "QUANTITY")
    (SELECT
    "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX"."ROOM_NUMBER" "ROOM_NUMBER",
    "INGRP2"."ID" "ID_1",
    "INGRP2"."QUANTITY" "QUANTITY"
    FROM
    (SELECT
    "UNFK"."ID" "ID",
    "UNFK"."QUANTITY" "QUANTITY"
    FROM
    TABLE ( "ZZZ_SANDBOX_EX"."UNFK2" ("ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX"."FEATURES")) "UNFK") "INGRP2",
    "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX" "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX"
    As you can see, it's trying to create a sub-query in the FROM clause--causing it to just ask for "ZZZ_ROOM_MASTER_EX"."FEATURES" as an input--which isn't available because it's outside of the sub-query!
    Is this some kind of bug with the code generator or am I doing something seriously wrong here? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Everybody!
    Thank you for all your response!
    I had changes this work area into Internal table and changed the select query. PLease let me know if this causes any performance issues?
    I had created a Z table with the following fields :
    ZADS :
    MANDT
    VKORG
    ABGRU.
    I had written a select query as below :
    I had removed the select single and insted of using the Structure it_rej, I had changed it into Internal table
    select vkorg abgru from ZADS into it_rej.
    Earlier :
    IT_REJ is a Work area:
    DATA : BEGIN OF IT_REJ,
    VKORG TYPE VBAK-VKORG,
    ABGRU TYPE VBAP-ABGRU,
    END OF IT_REJ.
    Now :
    DATA : BEGIN OF IT_REJ occurs 0,
    VKORG TYPE VBAK-VKORG,
    ABGRU TYPE VBAP-ABGRU,
    END OF IT_REJ.
    I guess this will fix the issue correct?
    PLease suggest!
    Regards,
    Developer.

  • Function types for Balance Sheet Planning missing in SEM-BPS 6.0

    Hi BPS experts,
    After upgrading our BI-system from SEM 4.0 to SEM 6.0 (level 10) as part of the upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 (level 15), the BPS function types for balance sheet planning are not available in the planning environment (Transaction code BPS0).
    According to the SAP Library the balance sheet planning functions in SEM-BPS comprises of 6 standard function types - one of them is "Depreciation":
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60/helpdata/en/0a/242537cedf2056e10000009b38f936/frameset.htm">help.sap.com -> Business Planning and Simulation (BW-BPS)</a>
    Menu path: Business Planning Functions -> Functions for Balance Sheet Planning
    In our existing SEM 4.0 we are using "Depreciation" and the functions based on this function type are of course short dumping when executed in our upgraded system (SEM 6.0) as the function type does not exist here.
    Odd though - we do have the function type "Allocation" available in SEM 6.0, which should be delivered with SEM together with the Balance Sheet Planning function types (It is listed directly under "Business Planning Functions" in the SAP Library) .
    I have tried to figure out whether we missed out on activating something during or after the system installation, but our basis consultant has not found anything in the installation guides related to this issue. Also I was wondering whether it could be a simple matter of activating some Business Content but without any luck.
    Does anybody know why the Balance Sheet Function Types are not available in SEM-BPS 6.0?
    Kind regards,
    Lars

    Hi Lars,
    It seems not all the planning function from SEM BPS are available in BW BPS. Please check the links below: -

  • I need Information about Grid

    Hello,
    The first, i don't speak english very well.... ;)
    the company for which work has 3 seats now, but is going to open 5 more.
    All these seats are small, and the cost to install Oracle in each one of them is very elevated.
    i would like to know to me if Grid Computing can help me centralizing everything in a Seat. The scalability is something very important. and i need have several instances of BD oracle up...
    I need information...
    Yo can write me to [email protected]
    Thanks in advance

    Hi.
    By seat, I assume you mean site or location.
    It's difficult to answer this type of question as it depends on so many factors. Personally, I would always go for the centralized solution. This way you don't need to worry about replication or distribution of data. Those things are always a nightmare.
    RAC is great for high availability, and it will allow you to increase your horsepower as and when you need it, but you still need to consider your performance erquierments up front.
    Of course, centralization comes with it's own set of problems. Are you going to connect to the central server via the web, VPN, leased line? What happens when the connection is unavailable?
    There is just so much to consider...
    Cheers
    Tim...
