Need input: do process chain/InfoPackages changeable on PROD in your compa?

We have to make our big process chains/InfoPackages changeable on our production system. But you know whenever we modify a process chain and activate it or save a changed InfoPackage, the annoying Change Request window pops up to force you to create a change request. Our authorization team doesn't think it's right to create change requests on PROD and they are reluctant to give us such authorization to create any change request. We wonder without creating change request, how would we modify process chain/infoPackages and save them?
Does your company allows you BW guys to be able to modify/create process chains/InfoPackages and create change request on PROD?

Hi,
As an ideal situation , we should not change any thing even the name of any object (like Ajay said).
But still you have you option to make PROD system to allow the changes to Info packages and Process chains . For this follw as below:
In PROD system , go to 'Transport Connection' tool> 'Object Changeability' pushbutton>for Object types RSPC and ISIP make "changeable" .

When you install BPC, there is a set of delivered process chains which are installed as well. You create the data manager packages from the BPC Excel clicent based on these process chains. You can of create custom BPC process chains in NetWeaver and create packages from those as well(for example via a How-To guide). So to answer your question, no, you do not have to create the "standard" process chains, and they are not generated by the system either, they are delivered as part of the BPC installation.

Need help in process chain *need help immdtly*

I need help in creating one process chain.
1. i have to load one infopackage to a PSA.
2. then have to do load for one infocube from two different infocubes one after the other.
for all these loads one restriction of fiscal year period to be common value.
this value may either be allowed to user to select or loaded automatically taking the previous fiscal year value .. any of these two options are fine.
it would be helpful if anyone can help me out.

Process chain infopackage not getting executed.

Hi,
We have a process chain in which one of the element for infopackage is yellow for more than last 5 hrs. On checking batch jobs i can see that job is ready but not getting executed.
I had gone into infopackage and pressed start but still it is showing old status.
I need to understand what is the problem and how it can be resolved ?

Hi Babu,
If the data has arrived into BW sysstem and the process chain has stuck. Then you can push the chain ahead of that step. Run the function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH in transaction SE38 The field entries required to run this function module can be collected in the table RSPCPROCESSLOG in traction SE16. Just provide the entries "Process Variants" and "Instance ID" and run execute the table and you will get all the required field entries to run the function module. usually give Log id, type, varient, instance id and status in function module and run. this will push ur chain ahead. The entries "Process Variants" and "Instance ID" in the process chain can be collected by right clicking the failed load and click on Chain tab.
Note; The status you have to set to G.

I understand the help topics are difficult to find...
Some tips:
- use only local objects (create infopackages localy in the production client to build the process chains, so you don't have to transport them).
- the secret for good process chain is organization. Separate texts, attributes and transactional data in separated process chains. Use a "master" global process chain to call the sub-process chains.
- careful assure the necessary precedences. Make sure you load attribues and activate the master data before the transactional data.

Process chain (RSPC) modifcation in Quality and production system

Hi,
In our landscape quality and production system is set as non modifiable. But we want to modify the process chain (RSPC) in Quality and production system.
As per the thread Need input: do process chain/InfoPackages changeable on PROD in your compa? in RSA1 -> Transport connection we made RSPC ( Process Chain) , RSPT (process chain starter) and RSPV (process variants) are changeable.
With this setting we are able to create/ edit new process chain in Quality and Production system. But we canu2019t edit the transported Process chain. i.e. process chain transported from Dev to Quality system.
We donu2019t want to open Business Information Warehouse: Customer Namespace (/BIC/ ) in Quality and production system (Se06). Please let me know is there any other settings needs to be.
We are on BI 7.0

Infopackage error in process chains

Hi Friends,
Iam trying to correct one process chain,Infopackage is getting failed with the following message:
Job in the source system uncompletedly-> Request is put on red
Could you pls advice.

Probably the job is getting cancelled in the source system.
Take this request no, and serch the job with request no. in the SOURCE SYSTEM. See the reason why it is failing. Act accordingly. In most cases, we need to start the load and it completes successfully.

ABAP or FM for post-processing of infopackage

Gurus,
Does anyone know the name of the ABAP program or function module that handles the post-processing of an info-package. For instance, we have an infopackage that needs to delete prior reqeusts where the selection criteria match. The infopackage is setup to perform the delete, and it works if we execute the infopackage manually. However we would like to run in the middle of a batch job that executes several ABAP programs. We already have an ABAP program that runs the BAPI to execute the infopackage, but it does not delete the prior request from our cube.
Note: We are running an old APO system (BW 2.1C), so we cannot use process chains.

Actually, it seems that the deletion of the prior infopackage request is performed before executing the infopackage again (not after), I apologize. I will try your suggestion, though. If this is actually the correct FM, then I will award you full points!
I must admit, though, understanding the parameters of the FM are difficult. Can you aor anyone else provide more details?

Run process chain on last three days of the month

Hello
I need to run process chain on last three days of the month. For example , It should run on 28, 29 and 30th dates of June.
There is no option to put a code in the start process of the process chain.
I can run it every day and put a code in the infopackage/DTP so that empty load (0 records) will be done on other days.
This doesnt sound as a good option.
Do u know any other options?

If the cube is already loaded then you can just to the infopackages which are loading it and in the infopackages you have option in the "schedule" tab to see which process chain it is loading.
if not then you will have to identify which data source is loading to the cube and check for the infopackge.
and I think the DTP will be in the same chain as well.
For DTP it is alreday mentioned by the others.
