Need insight from DNG gurus about implementing DNG as input format for HDR software

I've been having a discussion about the DNG file format and the developers of a new HDR software called Essential HDR (EHDR) but we are having some difficulties because none of us really understands much about the DNG spec and concept.
The first version of EHDR supports DNG as input. I normally shoot my photos in RAW and then convert them to DNG, then I use the different exposure photo set as input.
The thing is, EHDR or even Photomatix (I also tested this on that software) doesn't read any DNG metadata, they simply ignore it. Do you think this is a normal and correct behavior?
One of the points in the discussion that I was defending was that EHDR should read the values from the DNG metadata and not the original RAW data. I was even saying that if I cropped the image, they should read ALL that metadata and use it instead of the original RAW data. What do you guys think of that?
I don't know how RAW works on most cameras but on mine, when I shoot something RAW and then convert it to DNG, I need to do slight changes to the DNG to make the colors look more real, to make it look more like the JPG file (that I shoot along with the RAW). What I'm saying is that I shoot in RAW+JPG and then convert the RAW to DNG so I have DNG+JPG. The JPG file has a white and color balance that closely resembles the real life scene I shot, however, the DNG having more data, always looks different, more saturated and with different temperature and I have to fix it to make it look more like the JPG file. When I'm done why my changes, I save the metadata to the file.
If software like EHDR or Photomatix ignore the metadata, I will be creating an HDR that doesn't look like the photo I shot and I might have problems trying to make a real looking HDR if I'm not seeing correct color balance in the first place because the metadata, which fixes the temperature and etc, is being ignored.
How do you think a DNG photo set should work as input for creating an HDR photo?

This is what I'm doing at the moment, but I would prefer to load the DNGs directly into the HDR program.

I finally got a representative that was able to help me, she had me go to Get Info, by right clicking iMovie from the finder, and I had to click on Sharing & Permissions>Everyone>Read & Write

I need help from Excel Gurus

I have to do billing through our clients password protected Excel Workbook. After entering in our information the expect for us to email it back as a multi-sheet PDF. The problem is that the password protected workbook will not create multi-Sheet PDFs it it says "please verify if you have modification rights to the document." Does anyone know a workaround?
Our client uses Macs and PCs they now expect us to ditch all our Macs for PCs becouse they said they did not have any problems on any of their PCs.

I work with Excel all day long on my MacBook Pro. The issue here sounds like they have password protected the Excel file to prevent any modifications. You will need to get the password from them. Passwords in Excel give rights to modify and/or print. They probably set it so that you cannot print but could modify. Just can't print as a pdf file. You can also set passwords on pdf files the same way.
Check with them and make sure the password they arfe giving you allows you to "moify" the document. It is not a MAC issue, it is an Excel issue.

I've tried all the suggestions from previous posts about error 2002f and none work for me. I am selling my macbook air so erased the drive. When I select my wireless connection the globe turns then gives me the mentioned error. Nothing seems to work. Help

i just got my iPod a couple days ago used from best buy and hooked it up from my mac not aware that it was formatted for windows. when i try to restore my iPod it just freezes up my computer. do i really need it formatted for mac in order to get good performance?

Right. If you restored it in Windows the iPod will still be formatted for Windows.
Now see if you can restore it on your mac.
Also, know that Windows-formatted iPods work fine in Mac OS X. The only "problem" is that you cannot update the iPod's software on your mac if another software version is released. You would have to do that through Windows.
If you plan on using your iPod with both Operating Systems, you may want to keep it formatted for Windows.

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the latest version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 on Novemder 18th 2014.
Further updates to LR 4 were stopped when LR 5 was released on June 9th 2013. No further updates for bug fixes and new camera support.
Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced into the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was discontinued.
You can use the Adobe DNG program (free download for the package) to convert the Nef (raw) files from your Nikon D750 to the Adobe DNG format which will permit you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow for the processing of raw files with outdated versions of LR and ACR.
You can also update the ACR plugin for PS CS6 to version 8.7 which can also work with the raw files from the D750. For direct support in Lightroom you will need to upgrade (paid) to version 5.7.

I probably missed this detail in what you’ve posted, but do you see the thumbnails of the three cameras’ raw files in Finder if you don’t convert to DNG?
What has happened in the past is that the Apple raw interpreter doesn’t read thumbnails of DNGs it doesn’t like, where at least one thing it didn’t used to like was embedded lens corrections for mirrorless cameras. Are the Olympus and Panasonic mirrorless—meaning there is no optical viewfinder and everything is seen on an LCD screen or perhaps an electronic view finder? If so the reason these are different is that the camera is doing the lens distortion corrections automatically and this information is stored in the raw files and in the DNGs but Apple doesn’t know how to use these embedded lens corrections or doesn’t know how to read the newer DNG spec that does allow for this information to be embedded in the DNG, at least.
Apple could just extract the embedded jpg preview and ignore the other parts of the file it doesn’t understand, but it apparently doesn’t do this.
What I’m not sure about is if the Apple raw interpreter still has this problem or if you’re on an older system without the latest updates for camera raw decoding by Apple.

Issue with "Retrieving Metadata from a Custom Lookup Implementation"

I have a use case where i need to find meta data files from a custom location instead of CLASSPATH. I followed the following article in creating my "Custom XML Context Implementation"

But when running from jdeveloper, and i wanted to use it only for ADFm layer so i used -Djbo.project=<my-databindings-location>
If i use CPX file for this java option, framework complaining about JPX file, if i use valid path for JPX it complains about CPX file ....
I infact created a sample UI project which will have POJO as data control but still framework complaining about JPX file.
Is this approach not supported in 11g? Or is there a diff article for ADF 11g is available for approach?

Hi,
On that Column in required property choose "ui only" instead of "yes".
and then on cancel it will not throw error but when you will save the changes then you would have to programatically
handle the null value of that column.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

You have a Retina MacBook Pro, it runs OS X 10.7 or 10.8.
It won't run Snow Leopard (10.6) and Rosetta is only for Snow Leopard to run older PowerPC processor based programs when Mac's used to have those instead of the Intel processors they all have now.
So that software your installing is incredibly old, if you bought it, return it for a refund.
Also you don't need a anti-virus for OS X, Apple installed one for all OS X 10.6.8-10.8 users.
If you need anti-virus to clean the Windows files of their malware before passing it on, then the free ClamXav does the job.

Can I re-convert dng files to psd files (or another format that can be used in Adobe Touch)?

I am using LR 4.1, CS6, on a PC running Windows 7. Creative Cloud will accept dng's, but Adobe Touch will not. I'd hate to have to re-save lots of photos one at a time. (I'm not generally all that happy with dng format--it makes some files unreadable elsewhere, and any work done on a dng results in its being saved as a psd anyway.)

1. Proprietary formats such as NEF and CR2 are secret.
2. The universal DNG is an open format.
By all means stick to the raw files produced by your camera if you intend to do your editing in the software provided by your camera manufacturer. If you do all your editing in Adobe software DNG, imho is a better workflow choice.
For archiving purposes I would sooner trust Adobe for future support on DNG than individual camera makers who are known to change their raw formats. Also the benefit of embedded data and no sidecar files, plus fast load data (introduced for DNG’s in Lightroom 4) are clear advantages
If you want to use a tablet with Photoshop Touch tools such as layers, selection tools, adjustments, and filters then a PSD exported from DNG in light room will almost certainly produce an optimum sized file. Tiff will also support layers but the file size will usually be much bigger.

Need some insight on collaborative planning?
Let us take an example of supplier collaboration. Using CP, I can create replenishment order. Supplier can view it also. But how these PO will be translated into some sort of sales orders? I can replenish materials using min-max also. The end result of both process are Req/PO. After that, both systems are unable to translate supplier demand into supply.
Whether CP is meant to just publish supply and demand data to supplier and supplier can create ASN? I can create ASN in CP, but isupplier can also create ASN.
May be this is a wrong question but don't you think now a days companies operate in more automated and integrated mode. Nobody has manpower to go and review the planned orders. Usually business rules are set and things are driving in automated fashion....
Just wanted to know following:
1) How are you using CP and in which business environment?
2) If you are using CP, how are you downloading data from CP to supplier system? Whether you use some customization?
3) Forecast, PO etc can be sent via different mechanism, take an example excel also, what extra benefits we have using CP?
I am exploring supplier collaboration for an aviation company. One specific supplier replenishes parts from our locations. We can use min-max for replenishment very easily. We can also use ASCP to recommend and release ‘planned orders’ specific to this supplier. I need to know what benefit we will get using CP in this case? Don’t you think after using CP also, we will end up writing custom code to integrate supplier system and Oracle to manage our purchase orders and supplier’s Sales orders.

7) Regarding no of customers, it depends upon the internet
transaction server. I suggest you can check with SAP on this
