  • File Repository Manager

    Hi all,
I have created a file repository manager.
I have done the following settings for creating a file repository manager:
    Active   :checked
Hide in Root Folder: not checked
    Send Events :checked
Property Search Manager  : not set
    Repository Services   : not set
    ACL Manager Cache   : ca_rsrc_acl
    Security Manager   : W2kSecurityManager
    Description
    Prefix (must start with /) : /demo
    Windows Landscape System   : Microsoft_Windows_KM
    Read-only   : not checked
    Lookup mode : caseless
    Read-only Content Expiry Delay:
    Root Directory:
    132.186.124.207\calender
Even after restarting the server, a folder by name calender is not being created in the root in KM content.
    What could be the reason?
    thanx and regards,
    anuradha.

    Hi Anuradha,
The root in KM Content will have a folder by the name <i>demo</i>(value of property <i>Prefix</i>), not <i>calendar</i>.
BTW I recommend you don't change the prefix to <i>/calendar</i>... as the CalendarRM uses that prefix and so a clash could occur!
    Regards,
    Ashish.

  • Anyone need a File Upload Manager?

Little sample multi-file upload manager I had to write for a

It's written in AS2, but I thought it could be useful for

threw it up on a page, along with the source. Everything you

  • Calendar repository manager configuration

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure the collaboration calendar repository without configuring any excahnge server? I don't want it to connect with any email client. I want to use the calendar as a standalone application on portal.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Did you go through this document on configuring the calendar
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7a/ec015c8446d447a83776d40f31c84f/content.htm
    also
To configure the calendar repository manager, choose System Administration ->System Configuration from the top-level navigation bar and then choose
Knowledge Management ->Content Management -> Repository Managers -> Calendar Repository. You then edit the default instance created and update the parameters .
    u can also refer to

  • CM Repository Manager

    Hello,
I tried to set up a CM Repository Manager in FSDB mode to connect to a file system. I went through the steps of this blog <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a0449c90-0201-0010-7590-dd30845754ef">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a0449c90-0201-0010-7590-dd30845754ef</a> but I can't see in KM-Content my created repository. Any suggestions?
Note: I don't want to use a file system repository!
    Best regards,
    Denis

    Hi Senthil,
    > Yes , after creating Repository you have to Restart
    > ur Server its necessary. You wont get any meaasge for
    > restart. Try this it will appear.
That's not correct! When you first created a new repository with correct parameters, the repository framework will recognize it and show it under /root. Only if you change some parameters in the Repository Manager configuration you will need a restart to see the changes. The relevant parameters are marked with a special symbol. For example if you change the "Windows System Landscape" value, you would need a J2EE restart.
    Denis,
    >1. Repository ID in Database: I don't know what to type here.
    >Can I type anything I want?
Yes (no special characters of course), but it's important that you use a unique name, as stated in the Weblog.
    >2. Windows Landscape System: In the blog there is mentioned, that I have to specify
    > the network path. As far as I know, File System Repositories have the same property.
    > But I have to enter my Windows System here, not the network path.
The parameter is used if you want to integrate a file system and you want to use the permission from the file system in the portal. For that you have additionally to select W2kSecurityManager for the Security Manager parameter. In this parameter filed, you have to type the System ID, that you have defined in the [url=http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c2/88e3d471640f43b3e81608b8c3b2e9/content.htm]Windows System Configuration[url].
If you don't want to use the permissions from the file system, you should only need to specify the Root Directory for example like this: "//myserver/myshare/somedir".
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
PS: Again, if you do now changes in the available Repository Manager configuration, you  need a restart. If you duplicate the configuration settings, and create a new repository (with different ID) you should see it without a restart!

  • Unable to create File System Repository manager

    Hello,
I would like to create File System Repository manager to this path: I have mapped a certain Network drive "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" to the Portal Machine and under this machine it appears as drive "N:\", inside it there is a picture folder which I would like to create the mapping to. I tried setting the "Root Directory" value to "N:\" and to "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" but I keep receiving an error message at the Repository Component Monitor (see below).
    10X,
    Roy

    Hello Roy,
1> Create a new path that points to the pictures directory on the system. Enter the path lik
    mypc.myorg.com\pictures
Under Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> Network path
Under the user name and password, enter your username and password
username whould be entered like domainname\username
2>Then create a system in for the mypc.myorg.com server under
Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> System landscape definitions -> System -> Windows Sytem.
(Assuming u are acessing a windows sytem from a portal running on windows platform).
You need to enter system id and description . Kindly remember the system id, since it would be useful in two places while usermapping and creating the file system repository.
3>create a file system rep mgr under
Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Repository Managers > File System Repository
    Following properties are most important.
Name , ACL manager cache, Security manager(which you would have to set to W2kSecurity manager)
prefix(this is the folder name that you will identify your repository with) Widws landscape System (this is the sytem id of step 2) and root directory (network path of first step only in this case enter it like this //mypc.myorg.com/pictures)
4>Then under user mapping section, you will find you system (the system id of second step) , enter your name as password.
Initially when you configure your rep manager, you dont need to start ur servlet engine. If you modify any property then you need to re start ur servlet engine.
These are the steps for creating repository
If this still does not get resolved. Then kindly read the limitations of creating the file system repository manager in the link that I had posted in my earlier post.
    Thanks and Regards

  • How to control permissions in KM using File System Repository Manager

    Hello everybody
I have a scenario with 15+ file servers which content needs to be mapped into Portal KM as read-only.
Windows Authentication is configured on the portal, so the users don't need to supply the portal with username/password.
Now the users are of course only allowed to see the same content in the portal as they can see on the file servers. I know that the permission mapping can be done using a File System Repository Manager with W2KSecurityManager, but in that case the users will have to maintain the mapping of rights from windows to portal manually. And with ever-changing passwords this is too big an administrative task. So I am looking for another solution.
    My question is therefore:
How can you configure the File System Repository Manager in a way where it the user does not need to maintain "user mapping" manually, but only need to logon to the portal (through windows authentication) and can see the same files from the portal as he/she can see from the file servers.
Can this information in some way be taken from the configured Windows Authentication? Or is the only solution to enable WebDav on the file servers and and follow the "Integration of Windows File Servers into the SAP KM platform Using SSO and the WebDAV Repository Manager"-guide?
    Any help will be rewarded.
    Best regards,
    Martin Søgaard

    Hi again Dirk
I just studied the "Integration of Windows File Servers into the SAP KM platform using SSO and the WebDAV repository manager"-guide in depth and I don't quite understand what rights the cmadmin_service and notificator_service are supposed to be given in the Active Directory. In the guide it says:
"A number of global services and repository services need to perform operations on resources in various repositories. For example, the index management service must read all resources it is meant to index. When an index is created, the service user index_service is used. Therefore, this user has to have at least read access to all repositories that are to be indexed. Other users that are used by the SAP KM platform are the service users notificator_service and cmadmin_service. When a search is taking place, it is the user that is currently logged on to the portal."
I dont quite understand what the two service users are doing but more importantly, I need to give the two service users the correct permissions in the Active Directory (or through user mapping). I understand that index_service only needs read_only permissions, but what permissions should the cmadmin_service and notificator_service be given?
    Best regards,
    Martin

I checked another blog for this https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2565716 and even there the explanation doesn't convince me.
I tried to look at the Locale of my system where I am installing and I could see it is using Eng-Us by default. One way suggested to check the Unicode format from the web browser and I could check that too to be UTF-8 as suggested by someone on some other blog.
I checked in the logs too as suggested by the Installation dialogue box but it didn't seem much conclusive too.
Here is the snapshot of the log file which I could found.

Is there any way to check in command prompt to check the locale as required by the system.
What could be the issue here?
    Thanks,
    Nitin

    Hi all,
We are able to resolve the above issue with the below solution.
    Root cause of the issue:
You may have a temp directory in the path C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temp. You got the above mentioned exception because of the temp directory path having spaces_+ in it.
    Solution:
    1. Create a new directory called TEMP in a different location for ex: C:\TEMP
    2. Now, Right click on My computer --> Properties --> Advanced --> click on Environment Variables.
    3. You should be having TEMP and TMP as variables under user variables section pointing to the C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temp path.
    4. Edit the TEMP and TMP variables and mention C:\TEMP in the variable value.
    5. Deinstall and re-install OBIEE 11g.
    Happy OBIEE 11g installation!!

  • Add single file to a configuration; simple steps?

we're creating configurations to spec what a release is comprised of.
We need to add a single file to a configuration. Oddly we've been guessing about and can't figure this out.
I'm creating a configuration from a PWA, stripping out all but one file. Then creating a new configuration from another configuration
(the previous config for this release), then Add member, to add this config. that
    has the single file.
There has to be simplier steps?
BTW, the help within RON and the OTN tutorials don't mention this feature on configurations.
    Thanks
    curt

Here's a work around for adding one or more files to a configuration that works for us.
Forwarned that this is the long way around but at least it's simple in concept.
    Back ground:
    - one uses configurations to control specific versions of files that describes a release
    - In theory release 1.4 should be based on configuratoin for 1.3 plus or minus files and versions of existing files.
    - My view is that if you break the verifiable inheritance of the next version from the previous
    you are taking a risk.
Meaning, that the next version should always be based on the configuration of
    the previous release.
    - This procedure breaks the rule the above rule. ;-(
The work around that I've been able to get to work:
Short description: create the next cfg from LATEST, then use command line tool (compare cfgprevrelease cfgBasedOnLatest)
to determine what file versions need to be rolled back to be equal to the previous version, this captures the new files in the latest branch.
    steps:
    - Refresh your PWA to get the latest new files that you need to add to the release cfg
    - create a temp cfg based on a PWA
    - run the CLT compare -rpCfgPrevRel -rpTempCfgBasedOnLatest
    - modify the temp cfg to v1.1 and set the file versions back to the versions in your previous release with exceptions of
of what files and versions you need in the next release.
    - save
    - Create your real configuration from the twiddled temp cfg.
    - done
The reason why we use the temp cfg is that we never version a cfg. Our release cfg's are always version 1.0.
    This is mainly folklore, since we name the cfg for the ear name;
product-v10-04102003 which is the date at the end. So there will never be version 1.1
of this cfg given the v10 and date.
I've writen all this down for developers to faithfully reproduce and you may email me for a copy.
    [email protected]
    Good luck curt
