Need last steps to make Despeckle feature work

I have a photo that is grainy due to low lighting. As such, the skirt on a subject looks grainy, like a tweed fabric, which it shouldn't be. I tried to Quick Selector the area, then Expert/Filter/Noise/Despeckle, but the coloring didn't blend at all. How do I make it work?

Well, you did not follow directions. It's CTRL+J, not CTRL+L
I don't know what two slide bars are.
The command to adjust layer opacity is in the layers palette.

Need last steps to Whiten Teeth

I chose Guided/Perfect Portrait/Whiten Teeth. The teeth were selected, but how do I make it whiten them. It just sits there. And if I choose Done, it still doesn't whiten them, it just removes the selection dashed lines. I know I can overall lighten the picture, but then the skin looks pale. I tried to select the teeth and lighten, but again, it just sits there and doesn't lighten just that area.

While using Perfect portrait, did you skip / jumble the steps ?
For guided Edit to work perfectly for you, you need to follow the steps one by one. Try once again on a JPEG image without skipping any step or moving randomly. Move step by step.
Also, if you dont want to make any other changes apart from Whiten teeth, Go to Expert mode/Full Edit. From the Tools panel, Select Smart Brush Tool.
Select Whiten teeth from the presets in the options bar and select the teeth in the image. This should work.

I have a macbook pro,and my finger swipe to make the text larger isn't working... is there a setting i have to check to make this feature work again?

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

HT1777 How, precisely, step by step, does this "intuitive" feature work?

Trying to figure out how CD sharing works on a Mac Mini. Step by step, not the pages that come up when I do a search and explain nothing and lead nowhere, but the real instructions that a normal, everyday, non-AppleTopian can easily follow.

I got it work.
Before I got a USB optical drive, I used the optical drive on my MBP with my 2011 MIni. I remember what I needed to do to set it up, my memory is gone on the real sharing of an actual disc. Here goes with what I remember.
The trick is, on the "donor" computer with the CD/DVD drive, you need to turn on DVD or CD Sharing -- you need to allow the sharing of the optical drive. If you don't do that, nothing is going to happen.
1. Go to System Preferences:Sharing.
2. The first service is called "DVD or CD Sharing", you need to turn that on. Click the little checkbox in the "On" column.
3. The default option is "Ask me before allowing others to use my DVD drive", which is probably a good thing to leave checked. Just bear it in mind when you're on the Mini without a DVD drive because you'll later need to ask to use it, and the donor computer needs to allow it.
4. After that, on the Mini select "Remote Disc" in the Finder's sidebar (under devices), and here my memory gives out. So I refer you to this article which I found fairly straightfoward for the Mac:

When I want to open a new tab the plus sign doesn't work. What do I do to make that feature work?

This is a problem that I have found many work arounds to but I do not like to have to click on several things or push several buttons and would rather just click on the plus sign like in my sub accounts for win7.

HELP! Need advice to help make my macbook work!

My brother spilt a splash of lemonade onto the keyboard of my macbook. He dried it up quickly, and turned it off. Since then i have taken the battery out and have left to dry. I have tried to turn it back on, but nothing works! Can anybody help me? Or suggest what else i can do?

Applecare does not come free with your Macbook but you do have one years warranty from date of purchase. Apple will see when you bought your MB if you registered it online.
So i'd get it looked at asap. Applecare is an extended 2 years of warranty that you have to buy separately - but it has to be bought within the first year of you owning your MB.

What do I need to do to make this transparency work

I have a PDF, I know it has transparency but Acrobat pro renders the transparent portion solid. If I view it in chrome it looks right. And if I do an output preview and change the "Show" option to "Not DeviceCMYK" it previews the transparency, but this doesn't actually change the PDF and I can't figure out how to then just remove the CMYK so that it will be transparent.

I need a help regarding the BAdi..i am using the Average BAdi in a column...I have a criterion group called critical attributes and under this there are 5 criterions..i need to insert the BAdi in the Criterion group Critical Attributes and the BAdi needs to calculate the values of the criterions and show the result in the criterion group...
I had done the same thing for the other criterion group and the BAdi was working fine..but the BAdi is not working when i insert it in Critical Attributes criterion group....I contacted some people and they told that it is a configuration issue..so please help me out with a solution...and also the configuration which i need to do to make the BAdi work....

I am using the BAdi in an enabled column..i have already used the average Badi in a different criterion group called Performance Rating..It is working fine there...there is no difference between the 2 criterion groups...but somehow it is not working here...i really dont know what is the configuration issue since i am a technical guy...

I have a criterion group Critical Attributes in which i have inserted the BAdi in the score column......
Under this i have 5 attributes like Accountability,Communication...etc..
The manager appraises the above attributes in the FAPP column...The Badi has to calculate the average of the 5 columns...
I have used the same average BAdi in another criterion group and it is working fine..
so please help me out with the answer..we r using ECC 5.0 version...

I have an iPad 3 6.1.3 with cellular network with verizon. I am going to Europe in a couple weeks and need to use my ipad while im there. What do I need to do to make my ipad work?

Since the EU does not use CDMA technology, your Verizon iPad won't connect to any cellular systems anyway, but it does not hurt to turn cellular data off to preserve battery life.
Note that if you use Airplane mode that will turn cellular off too, but it also disables GPS (which you may need if you have a navigation app with pre-loaded map and POI data -- highly recommended if you don't know your way around).

I am one last step to make ADF working on a Tomcat 6. I know from john and shay, that this is not free, nor "supported". But as soon as I cam manage to have something like this working, I say that I am going to make my company work so we can have it on a Weblogic Bea server. But these days we need to have my ADF Application Working on a Tomcat 6, becouse all other apps from the company are working there. Now, my ADF project with libraries well configured on Tomcat is up and seems to be working, when fails on this step when trying to get the localhost:8080/theapp-context-root/faces/page.jsp. I know now what mds means. They are the Data Source connection from datatables (the data controls). I know, I know... in my application i am not using these data controls, nor any connection, but, who knows why adf is trying to access this? maybe is becouse there is a class that call this method. Is it possible to avoid these calls??
Thank you very much for the help you can give, Once again, I must say this is not supported by ADF developers, but you must know that we as developers also, must accomplish some others constraints and restrictions. I must say, that I dont like it like this either, but I think adf can do much more than other jsf components.

Hi,
I don't disagree with anything you've said. However:
1). Oracle (I don't work for them, by the way) controls the engineering and certification effort to certify ADF on application servers. Right now, they only support WebLogic and haven't as of yet articulated any clear way forward for any other app servers
2). ADF is easy to learn the basics, but (as would be the case for any enterprise framework), it will take you months+ to really learn and understand.
Believe me, I have fought the same battles with regards to application servers with my clients - they may have standardized on something like Tomcat, Glassfish, etc, but I would never recommend to a company that they run critical ADF 11g applications on anything but WLS, because it is the only platform I am confident will work and will be supported (i.e., Oracle will fix things that don't work). I also know from experience that trying to shoehorn an ADF 11g app on to Tomcat is hit-and-miss and fragile at best. Obviously, this is just my opinion ;)
I agree that ADF 11g gives a compelling story and has a lot of benefit to those who are willing to make the investment required to learn it. Unfortunately, at the current time, you also have to invest in getting WLS up and running in order for you to have a supported environment. As you've probably seen from the forums, many people have tried and have had varying degrees of success with it. I wish you all the best in getting it to work, but it's not the approach I would follow personally.

You can also check your adf-config.xml file (located in the .adf directory, or look in JDeveloper in the application navigator under Application Resources -> Descriptors -> ADF-META-INF) to ensure you don't have stuff like:

Yahoo im boxes not poping up when receiving or sending messages. Message received indicator flashes in the yahoo tab but no IM box appears. Same feature works with IE. Tried relaxing popup blocker feature with no luck.

When logged into Yahoo, the built in IM box feature never pops up. My contacts lists is shown, my IM received indicator flashes in the Yahoo tab when I receive an IM, but no IM box appears. IM box also doesnt appear if I try to initiate a chat by clicking on a contact name. I tried putting Yahoo in popup exceptions list with no luck. Seems the feature stopped working after the last update. The same feature works fine when using IE so I assume it isnt an antivirus or firewall issue. Use windows 7 & avast antivirus.
