Never works when launching app in Win 8, always have to uninstall application, then come her to get a link to re-install. Please help.

Try to launch it with "system exec.vi." This function can execute command line commands and should be able to launch any executable.

Are you talking about linking to your EXE in terms of a compiler link or just a communication link so your EXE takes care of the functionality and your java program provides the GUI only ?
I do not know if a compiler link is possible. I've never seen anything that allows you to do it.
If you just want your EXE to provide functionality then it is possible, but would take a fair amount of work. You can open sockets in both the EXE and Java programs and send messages back and forth. The GUI could request work to be done by the EXE and the EXE passes the results back to the GUI for display. An interesting note about this is that the EXE and GUI do not have to reside on the same machine.

Link local exe file into URL iview

Hi,
I am trying to integrate an VB application ( basically it is a .exe file installed in local path ) through a url iview . The exe will reside on every client machines and the path I have given is like 'file://c:/Program Files/myfolder/test.exe'
But when I access this application , I am getting an error icon in the left bottom of the IE and when I clicked that icon , it is giving an 'Access Denied Error 'message
It might be some IE security settings which we need to do. I am not able to find what it is.

I dont know if SAP provides any iview that support this. However you can do it with javascript and shell commands by follow this tutorial.

Link external .exe file to director buttons

I want to create a CD menu that has buttons link to differents .exe file (application) When click on the button, the application will run directly on window so I can turn it to full screen.
However I've encountered the problems when try to link external files (exe) into cast. I got this -1 errors. I've checked previous topic and try the 'open()' command that link to the .exe file but it didn't work either. Well, I've just study Director not so long ago, so I'll appriciate your help to archive the right result.

Don't import your exe in the cast. Just put it next to the projector or in a subfolder.
Then give the full path to open().
Example:
open(_movie.path & "filename.exe")

I own a registered version of this, but I need the download to reinstall it.

I had downloaded it originally.. Recently the account had to be started from scratch with a new email address that I have, so whatever was there originally is now gone. After a computer crash i had to reinstall Photoshop Elementnts 11 again with no success. Downloaded again . Shortcut can't find the exe. file on my computer. Tried numerous times and the result is still the same. Setup says program loaded correctly but shortcut says different... Running with Win 7 64 bit.

My suggestion is that the shourtcut can be lost by any of the processes.
Go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
Under these folder try to look for PSE folder and create shortcut for the files by doing eight click on it,

i wrote a c++ prog that invokes the jvm. than i registered some (wrapper)-functions and called some java methods. inside the javamethods were native-calls.
all worked fine if i do that within the c++/exe.
trying to load the exe-file into the jvm (System.load("pathToExe") ) and than calling an init-funcion (namemangled on the native side) also work, b u t an simple printf() say's access violation java exit with return-code 128.
-> is it impossible to use an exe file like an dll ?

In general you cannot do this on anything other than an
intranet. Is that
where you are working? If so, then you would have to
investigate using
ActiveX to fire that exe file - check the Microsoft site....

Smart file examiner wont install updates for office on my macbook air. i click step two for show info then nothing happens

I just got my my macbook air and I am still learning how to use it. I just put Office 2011 on it and there was an update for it after i installed it. I did the update and it downloaded it but then instead of installing Smart File Examiner opens and step 1 sleect file and this is were is went /Users/user/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/3114AutoUpdate Installer.mpkg. Then it says information gathered successfully. step 2 click show information button. so I do and and the info on it opens in a new page, but it does not do anything else. So how do i finsh installing the update?

Downloading as we speak, and the first explanation that comes to mind is that both files have a .rar extension, and that since OS X doesn't support this archive format, you need to install a third-party utility to open them.
One files tool to open .rar files is The Unarchiver (here), and another is Stuffit Expander (there). 7zip also proposes a Mac version (here). All three will decompress a .rar file, and let you access the .dmg file(s) inside.
Also, depending on the browser you're using, and provided you might be inclined to open trusted files directly (I use Opera, and seldom save safe download; I click on "Open" in the download dialogue), your files could very well open... in the browser cache folder, out of sight. But if you use Safari, Chrome or Firefox, and you don't have any utility installed to handle .rar files, that's doubtful. I'm going to open your files now, and check if I can install them.

Edit: decompressing the first file using The Unarchiver shows that the archive is "incomplete". Which leads me to think that you might have to concatenate the two files to make one "complete" .dmg file.
If so, once they are decompressed, open a Terminal (in Applications/Utility), then type "cat", and drag both files in the window, one after the other (preferably in the right order...), type a space, then give the final file any name you want, followed by the .dmg file extension:
(e.g.:) "cat /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/File1.dmg /Users/Your_Name/File2.dmg /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/FinalFile.dmg"

Need 2 Audigy4 software files missing after auto-update

Two requests here... (thanks in advance).
I performed an auto-update of my SBAudigy4 software components, only
to find unfortunately that the following files are now missing (and maybe
more):
"C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy4\Entertainment Center\RCSettings.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy4\Audio Device Selection\CTAudSel.exe"
The original CD does not let me re-install the application, and the binaries
above are in ".cab" files which, try as I may with several CAB tools, I can't
open up.
Can anyone who has the latest version of these two files, zip them up and email
them to me. Actually, if its not too much trouble (or to big) the entire
"Entertainment Center" and "Audio Device Selection" directories would be
great, in case I'm missing a few more files than I realize.
Also, does anyone happen to have a PDF file explaining how to configure
the RM-500 remote control. I got the Audigy4Pro with my Alienware and
don't see a manual. (and the "manual.chm" file sucks).

A .exe file is a Windows executable. OS X does not run Windows programs. If you need to use .exe files then you will need to install Windows on your Mac:
Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.

Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
