Need more 'Description' space

Dear Adobe,
In the Folio Producer, why is the description text field so limited???  Why is it limited at all?
It would really help if we could input more text in that field, espcially when you're trying to add a lengthy desription about a folio.  Is this something that Adobe could update (Only because it makes perfect sense)?
Thanks ~
~ mike
P.S. Please Please Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I believe we limit the length because of the amount of space available to display it in the viewer when the user brings up browse mode. I'll mention this to the person that owns it so we can put it onto the list of requested features for future consideration.

    Open the document,

    Tap Document Set up.
Drag the margins to the position you wish (the actual margin width sould display as you are doing this).

  • Need more disk space

I need more disk space. Can I delete CS5 and LR4 now that I am running CC?

Sure. Just be aware that you may need to reinstall CC due to shared components possibly being removed by the old uninstallers. Though, to be honest, those 2.5 GB won't save your bacon if you are already short on space...

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • I need more disk space how do I do this?

need more disk space how do I do this?

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

    My bad?
You're original response was questions/post  about an iMac. Now you've edited it to ask about a Mac Pro?
You can more easily add internal drives in a Mac Pro.
Not too terribly easy to add/replace drives in an iMac.
If younhave questions about a Mac Pro, try posting in the Mac Pro forums.
    Much more knowledgeable users there.

  • Need more free space

My kids are playing Sims 2 and occasionally the game will not load because the Imac says that we need more available free space. Does anyone know how to remedy this?
Also, would increasing the amount of Virtual Memory resolve this? If so, how do I do that?
    Thanks,

The reference is to disk space not memory. Apparently your hard drive is too full. You either need to delete some data to make more free space or put in a larger hard drive or get an external drive and move some files from the internal drive to the external drive to free up space.
Virtual memory is under the control of the OS and expands or contracts as needed. There's no need for the user to modify the amount of VM.

  • WB_XML_LOAD need more description

    Hi,
I am many years experienced wiht Pl/SQL, but very poor about XML and all taht related stuff inside Oracle.
I have DB = 10.2.0.2 on AIX and OWB 10.2.0.1
I want to load an XML-file finally into 1 or more relational tables.
When I try to learn about wb_xml_load, I miss a lot of more practical descriptions.
the sample shows only XLS as target !
Where can I find detail information about the 'control_file' mentioned in wb_xml_load docu ?
Docu says: For more information on control files, see the Oracle Warehouse Builder User's Guide.
That's a really bad joke ! the docu is allready from that guide, but no details for how to build and use that control_file !!!
I need to learn how to use wb_xml_load for an Oracle-table as target.
Can I derive the structure of the target tables from registered schema ?
That is pretty weird, because it seems to be nested over several levels.
In the docu-sample: what menas the first element:
    wb_xml_load('<OWBXMLRuntime>'
Can I use any name ? Does it have to match the first XML-file-element ?
please help with any tip, thanks LaoDe

    Hi
Please follow below steps to load xml file to oracle database.
1.First connect to owb (Design Center) through your repository owner user (ex : REP_OWNER).
    2. Import WB_XML_LOAD procedure . and exit to repository owner.
    3. connect to owb design center through your repository user (ex : REP_USER)
Create New mapping and drag one Constant Operator and create one attribute, paste / edit following code
    '<OWBXMLRuntime>'||
    '<XMLSource>'||
    '<file>E:\SOURCE\emp.xml</file>'||
    '</XMLSource>'||
    '<targets>'||
    '<target truncateFirst = "FALSE" dateFormat="yyyy.MM.dd">rep_user.emp</target>'||
    '</targets>'||
    '</OWBXMLRuntime>'
    4. Drag pre mapping operator and select WB_XML_LOAD procedure
    5. Connect Constant Operator attribute to pre mapping operator.
    6. Drag two dummy tables and connect source to target. (ex : drag t1 (table) tab two times and connect.
    7. Validate and deploy the mapping.
    8. grant necessary grant command to rep_owner user to rep_user user.
(Note : target truncateFirst = "FALSE" by default truncate the table. So you have to give grant privileges
To rep_user , select ,insert, delete privileges.
    9. Execute the mapping , and check EMP table. (Note : before loading EMP table delete all records ).

  • I need more free space on BootCamp drive after installation of Windows 8 pro. what should I do?

Initially partitioned 18.6GB for BootCamp for Windows, now at least need 300MB free space. Would like to allocate 80 GB to Windows system . Should I uninstall windows 8 pro and start over again. Would it cause some damage to IMac?

    > After installing Windows 8 PRO I cannot play a dvd. The trouble seeker says: The hardware can not start due to damaged or incomplete config info in the register (code 19).
If you would use the Toshiba forums Advantage search option, then you would find this info:

+If the TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator or TOSHIBA Disc Creator are installed on the HDD, there might be a issue between Win 8 and mentioned software+
+So uninstall these tools, then restart your PC using the Power-->Restart option in Windows 8. Your CD/DVD should be accessible now.+

  • Need more HD space for Time Machine

I'm running out of space on my external drive that I use for TM, can I go in and manually delete old backups to make more room? Would doing this then screw up TM?

TM should start automatically delete old backups to make room for new ones when it runs out of space. it will warn you about it the first time it needs to do it if you have the appropriate box checked in TM system preferences->options. DO NOT delete old TM backups from finder. you can delete old backups from TM interface but you shouldn't have to do it.

  • Need more 'free space' for CIV IV???

I just bought CIV 4 for Mac. It is a single HD disk, and I cannot install it. I get an error message saying I have insufficient free space to play the game. Whuuuut?? This is a brand new computer and I haven't installed anything on it yet but a few pix. Ay adivice??? I love this gam and am worried about all of the patch problems...if I ever get it installed, that is. ALso, I am not a techie, and I hope this isn't just some problem that makes all of you giggle....

Took me a while to figure out what CIV IV was, and to find the specifications and product reviews for the Mac version. Sounds as if you may be confusing storage and memory.
Roughly speaking, everything you mentioned "having" on your PC was stored statically on its Hard Drive Disk, not in its memory. Memory is used for dynamic operations, and for very short term storage. Storage is easy, but data must be accurately stored, and that's where memory comes in.
Memory is used to access, process, check, and distribute the data that is stored on the HDD. The way the game was written, it needs a large amount of memory to put the game's data onto the HDD in large chunks.
That's where you're at - trying to copy your game off of the DVD and onto your HDD. The game is on a DVD, not a CD, so it's holding a lot more data than most of the CDs you've probably dealt with in the past. Since that game appears to be complex, its demands for memory are huge - first to install the game, but then even more so to run the game.
When you open the blue Apple menu (top left) and select "About This Mac," underneath you should see:
"Processor 2 GHz Intel Core2 Duo"
    "Memory ________"
To run your game, it should show either
    "2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM" or
    "3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM"
If you then click the "More Info..." button, System Profiler will open and disclose the details of your computer's configuration. On the left you'll see main categories such as Hardware - Network - Software. Clicking on "Hardware" will show you an "Overview" of the installed hardware.
On the left, one of the subcategories of Hardware is "Memory," which when selected, will show the specifics of your installed memory, also referred to as RAM. Your iMac can hold two separate DIMMs. With details following, they will be listed as:
    DIMM0
    DIMM1
Once you have System Profiler open, to get more information about System Profiler, open the Help menu at the very top of your display and you'll see that you can open System Profiler Help.

  • "iDVD needs more disk space to encode the remaining assets"

So I have to make copies of these counseling sessions that I'm doing for class and since I found out my Mac did not come with a DVD burner, I bought an LG External Super Multi DVD Rewriter. I used iDVD and created DVDs with my counseling sessions and was able to burn a couple that way. Then last week, I was going through my CDs in my Mac box and stuck the iLife CD in and it updated my applications. Since then, I've tried to burn a DVD from iDVD and it hasn't worked. A box comes up saying something like "not enough space for remaining assets" and when I click to get more information, it says "iDVD needs 7.765 GB of disk space to encode the remaining assets, but only 2.458 GB is available at "Macintosh HD".
Did I mess it all up by what I thought was updating the software? What can I do??

Hi - Double posting doesn't help - Medicine the same
iDVD and Mac OS need space to work to swap theirs temp. files.
My minimum is 25Gb free space on start-up hard disk - neither can use any other HDs
but only 2.458 GB is available at "Macintosh HD"
This is way to little - few things should be able to work and if so very slow and unstable.
    Free up more space.
    Yours Bengt W

  • Need more disk space - Suggestions?

I am running out of disk space on my 20" 2GHz Intel iMac. I'm thinking upgrading the internal disk will result in much better performance than adding an external drive (I currently have an external drive used only for Time Machine). What advice do you have regarding these two approaches? I've read about replacing the internal disk and it looks to be fairly difficult. Also, how difficult is it to format the new drive and install OS X? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Tom
I really have very little directional advice to offer, just a few tidbits that might help you decide which way to go.
    Option 1
Cracking open an iMac is not for the technically challenged or faint of heart, they were not designed to be user serviceable. Should you choose to except the challenge and change the Internal HD yourself the following links are a must have, save, print and study then well!

    http://home.comcast.net/~woojo/DFFA53A0-F23D-4541-9015-481FD3B6532E/iMac_Disasse mbly.html
Be for Restoring from your TM backup or doing a Fresh Install you will need to Boot from your Install Disk and use Disk Utility to set the New HD's Partition Map Scheme to GUID Partition Table and the Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/15638.html
    Option 2
Take the iMac to your Local Apple Service Provider and have then install a larger HD and Transfer the content of your current Internal HD to it. Then take the replaced HD and install it into an External HD Enclosure for backup and storage use.
    Option 3
If you had say a 1T FireWire 400/800 you could Partition and Format it (same as above) and copy or restore your current System or TM backup to it and boot and run from it. Of course SATA is faster than FireWire 800 which is faster than FireWire 400.
My iMac only has FireWire 400, it will boot and run the OS X normally from my FireWire 400 Maxtor HD without noticing much of a speed issue.
    Option 4
Note: that the iTunes and iPhoto Library's can be moved to an External HD to free up Internal HD space.

  • Need more App Space

Please, can Apple upgrade the amount of space for Apps on the iPod Touch? I could use 5 times the alloted disk space. It would also be nice to have a category setup similar to the iTunes store with the capability to create ones own categories. I have a 32 gb iPod Touch and use it almost exclusively for apps. I have a 60gb iPod Video and a 120gb iPod Classic for music. If Apple is worried about users nuking their music, etc., Apple can put some "logic" in the expansion of disk space for Apps to prevent this from happening on both the iPhone and iPod Touch. Make the disk space user controllable for those who need extra space. Thanks, Mac user since 1984, Apple user since 1981. Still have my AppleII Plus, IIGS, IIc, and all my Macs - about 15-20, including powerbooks(5). Please take up the channel
