Need more settings in wifi and email

I need to be able to set peap for my wifi connection at work - no settings within the wifi setup allow me to do this (i am able to use it on the open network but I first have to go to a website and enter a user name and password manually, kinda a pain).
I also need ssl for email. We are using exchange (yuck!) which does have imap enabled but I have to be able to set it as ssl and again no settings for this. I can use webmail for now but PLEASE I beg you Apple, add just a few more settings options in these areas.
I have a list of other minor cosmetic software requests but these are my top ones since they are functionality issues.

For the network connection The iPhone offers a

PEAP is the authentication method.... its supported on 10.4
I did get around this by having our main IT office add my mac address and I'm getting on fine. But these options should be available. I look forward to them being added to a software update in the future.

The cheapest Mac available new is a Mac Mini. It is no bigger than many an external hard drive. But the screen and keyboard and mouse must be purchased separately. They support USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice, and pretty much any DVI, HDMI, or displayport display. Although the iMac is certainly an attractive option if all you want to deal with is deciding on a printer. I still recommend getting an Apple USB keyboard for the occasional times you may need to troubleshoot startup issues. Normally not a problem, but as it gets older some issues can be fixed at startup or diagnosed at startup.

Do I need to backup my pics and email etc with iCloud backup or would it delete my data?

I have an ipad (3rd gen) and an iPod (5th gen) I use the ipad for school as in my school instead of books and copies. I use my ipad for leisure and taking photos and videos and Facebook etc etc. both of the devices are using the same account. I only have the free 5GB backup package. I need the storage for my ipad school things as if I lose them..that's all my schoolwork..gone. I have recently taken a lot of photos with my iPod and downloaded a lot of games. Today a notification popped up saying that I'd almost run out of iCloud backup and that I could delete some of the backup on apps etc. so that's what I did and it barely made a dent in the backup figures. I then decided to delete most of my photos just so I'd have some more space for Facebook but it turns out that if you delete your photos, it doesn't actually result in a solution to the backup problem. So what I'm wondering is.. Do I really need to backup my pictures or email etc a and just leave the backup for my ipad? Also, when I go into Settings=>iCloud=>Storage & Backup=>Manage Storage=>this iPod at the bottom of the page there's a button that says "delete backup". I'm wondering if it would help my situation or something. Thanks in advance :)

You don't need to back up your photos to iCloud if you don't want to. If you don't, be sure to import them (and your videos) to your computer so they are backed up there, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. You can then turn Camera Roll off under Backup Options. This article explains other options for managing and reducing your iCloud storage: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.
If you tap Delete Backup in Manage Storage>your device, it will permanently delete the backup from iCloud. It won't do anything to the data currently on your device, but it does put you at risk until you create a new backup.

WiFi and email on BB Curve 9300

Bell told me there is no way to use my WiFi in conjuction with email on the Blackberry Curve 9300 unless I sign up to one of their data plans.
Someone confirm this? I would have thought that a device that has WiFi built into it would be able to use the WiFi I have in my house.
I have an Ipod with WiFi and that is what I am using to check emails when I am in WiFi range.

They are correct. To use any of the blackberry push functions you need a blackberry data plan. Once in place you can also make use of a wifi connection.

Need more options to add new email address

Most of my setup works perfectly.
However, one of my email accounts requireds the [email protected] as a username for login rather than simply name. The result is that I get the error: "Unable to connect to the server. Please try again later." when I try to add the email account.
The workaround I use at the moment is to use an incorrect domain.com part for the original email address. The setup process then allows me to enter the mail server names and ports specifically. I can now receive pushed email on my phone.
However, when I try to send email from that account, the mail is rejected by the mail server since the "from" email address doesn't exist (since the domain.com I used is invalid.)
I REALLY would like to be able to specify all settings manually right from the start of the setup process in an "advanced setup" step. Give me the control to enter what I want, and leave the simple automatic works-most-of-the-time-for-most-people approach for those who don't need to flexibility.

I enter in my correct details on the "add new account" page. I get the same error "Could not connet. Please try later". Then enter this address into the browser https://email.nokia.com/account/addEmailMoreInfoNoCorpSupport.action
(note, the first part of this link should be the same as the address in the bar BEFORE you type this. If your address doesn't start with email.nokia.com then replace that with whatever you have)
This takes you to the manual settings screen where you can enter all the settings, but with the correct email address in the annoying read-only field!

Need help exporting address book and emails

Hi everyone; I have a problem that should be easy to answer, yet I've been in contact with several IT people and 90 minutes later still have no answer. As the forum heading suggests, I am using Novell's Groupwise Webaccess. I was given an email address through my University employer, and this is the email system that they use. I have ended my contract with the university and have been given 60 days more usage of Groupwise, but I would like to keep at least some of the information in my emails.
Questions:
1) can I export my address book to... anything, really, just so I can keep my contacts?
2) is there any way I can download my emails?
This extra info may or may not be helpful:
I only have access to the web version of Groupwise
I am using a mac
I have other email accounts, including gmail, hotmail, and outlook. I don't mind exporting this info into any of them.

With only webaccess, it is difficult. However, you can use cut and paste or forward the email to another account. You just have to be creative...and willing to put a little elbow grease into it.

Dear Adobe: We need more "Data Centric" examples and videos

Many of my data centric questions are unanswered (for days now). This tells me that no one in the community knows the answers, which is probably because FlashBuilder 4 and using it against a ColdFusionBuilder 1 server are still so "new". My customers are not impressed with bandwith sucking flashing, flipping, popping, spinning effects, with help hints. That's "kid stuff". They only want and care about lightning fast response time, tons of data at their fingertips, and reliability. They'll add their own images and suffer the bandwidth downside if they choose, but that's up to them. The things I need to know how to do are very very simple:
1) Fetch data, into a grid or form (nailed, thanks for the video and examples)
2) Commit data changed in the form or grid back to the DB (Not answered)
3) Create a new record from within the form or grid (Huh? No video or examples)
4) Create new form popup windows based on a record selected in a grid (Got it, working good)
5) Refresh a row in a grid without mucking around with the user's selected row or indexed column (How? Unknown)
6) Delete a record in a form or a grid and commit the delete to the back end (Again, unknown)
Basically I need to know CRUD. Create, Retrieve, Update, Delete
I'm really struggling with getting the answers to these simple questions. The helps are GREATLY DETAILED but the other side of that same coin is that they give me information overload explaining all the things that CAN be done, when I just need to know the CRUD basics. Please make some more videos showing CRUD. FlashBuilder and ColdFusionBuilder are going to be serious candidates for massive data handling only if we can get developers onto this product quickly.
Massive Data Handling = 200 Tables, 200 fields in each table, 200 indexes, 500 constraints, one third of a billion records total in all tables, and I want to find a specific 4 records, in no more than 4 mouse clicks, and response time of 2 seconds or less.
Unless I'm being unreasonable, and Adobe products are not the way I should go to achieve these goals.

Help needed creating a fillable form and emailing it.

I'm new to all this and have no clue where to start. If there is a document that lays out how to do this, a link to it would work. I need to create 2 fillable forms. 1 will need a submit button and once you click submit, it automatically sends the form. The 2nd one will need to allow the end user to select to whom the document is to go to. I think it will have to open an email message to do this, but I'm not sure. Please advise.

It's probably the fields highlight color of the application, which you can change via Edit - Preferences - Forms.

This is the 1st system I have built and I am a bit confused on what to set in the BIOS to get my processor running at its rated speed. The BIOS reports it at 1.84ghz. I set the FSB to 166. What else do I need to do (and where do I look) to remedy this?

Set FSB to 133
BIOS says 1433 mhz. No change from before.
I reset the FSB to 166 and it now runs at 1866 mhz (rated 2ghz)
As far as the cooling problem, I haven't touched the Heatsink/Cooling fans yet.
Temp dropped when I lowered the FSB.
I bolted a 92mm Fan to the outside of the case (Biohazard grille) and the temp now runs at 48c CPU and 36c Chassis.
Plan to do the fan reversal this weekend and maybe the lapping.

Need Help with Scheduling, Saving, and Emailing a Report From Apex

My ultimate goal is to schedule a report to be created in apex, save it to the database (in pdf), and then email it.
I can schedule the proc which underlies the report. I can send an email from the databse. But I don;t know how to do all three of these in an automated fashion via apex. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I run this type of process in a complete Windows environment - the client was Windows XP and the Database & Application Server were both Windows Server 2003.
Typically, I would build a .BAT file within a Page Procedure that included a line to run the report, saving to a .PDF file and then generate a sql statement that would send an email to the user. In your case, you would want to email the .PDF as an attachment. My email was a notification that the report was ready for them to download and they would access their FTP folder.
You can then schedule the .BAT file to run using the Oracle Scheduler to have that process run as an executable. The scheduler allows you set the date/time the process should run. To do this, your user must have CREATE JOB and CREATE EXTERNAL JOB privileges to run external jobs. (see the Oracle DB Admin manual for further details).

Need help with my contacts and email - used to have ipod touch

Hi all
I had an ipod touch in the past that I used to sync through the laptop i'm on now. However, I sold that quite some time ago and just got a new iphone the other day. when I hooked it up to my laptop to set up, my old touch account came up. This normally wouldn't be a problem but now it's syncing all my OLD contacts (thousands of them) and old email accounts...some of which are not in my windows live mail anymore.
How do I go about:
1) getting rid of all these contacts that were just loaded onto the phone
2) starting new to add only the contacts I have in my windows live contacts list?
I've tried deauthorizing the computer but that didn't do anything other than delete old apps I had on the touch.

Which supported application on your computer are you syncing contact info with?
With Vista, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with the address book used by Windows Mail with Vista - which is the name change for Outlook Express with Vista. The address book is called Windows Contacts I believe and the sync option for contact info is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences.

Need help with account sharing and email

I'm an inexperienced Mac user with a G5, dual 2.0 processors and 1.5 meg ram. Just installed iLife 05 and having an iPhoto problem. My spouse and I have separate user accounts on the same pc. We'd like to share our photos with one another (they're actually the same photo's). On my account, iPhoto email is "mail", no problem. On hers it displays Entourage. I can't change it from preferences pane. Greyed out. On my account it shows America on line but the email icon is "mail" Can you help. We both want "mail"
What is the proper way to share this account? Do we check preferences and share or do we go to the User accounts and move the photo library? Please provide a basic explanation to one who is not really familiar with the workings of a Mac. That's why I went to a Mac in the first place. It just generally works.

Can I use one contacts database for phone and email?

I have a gmail contacts list for email. I also have a phone number database imported from a non-apple cell phone to my iPhone 5c. I find that I'm using the iphone more and more for both phone and email, but I also use my PC for email.
I exported my 300+ gmail contacts using google to a CSV file, cleaned it up, and imported it back to my PC. Of course, it doesn't have the 200+ phone numbers that are in my phone number listing now on my iPhone.
I like working with spreadsheets because of the many utilities to sort, cut/paste, etc. If I take my gmail database, ultimately add phone numbers, and sync in iTunes will it be accessed whenever I want to make a call and also when I want to send an email? I'm hesitant to sync with the new gmail "email only" database for fear of losing all of the many phone numbers in my iPhone. Can I keep my phone numbers temporarily while I edit my master contacts database - maybe by having separate databases on my iPhone for email and phone? I hope to eventually keep a master PC database of all data on all entries and change/reimport as needed.
