The material being examined has value, but the way it is examined leads to a lot of people without practical skills (so people who only cram for the exam, never wrote a line of code and don't even know what the stuff they cram really means) passing with flying colours while people with years of experience struggle to get more than 80% (which IMO should be the passing score on the exam, not 50-something percent).

New mac user is toast needed reccomended or necessary

I am new to mac.
I understand that Toast is one of the better programs for burning CD's and DVD's on the mac.
Is it necessary? Can I easily burn DVD's and moveis without toast?
I hvae the elgato eyetv. Is the only way to burn movies from DVD to VHS with toast?
If not toast is there a better alternative?

For your own movies you would use iMovie and iDVD. If you have a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive, use DVD Imager

You can export the EyeTV movie in a format that iDVD can use, but iDVD will take a long time to re-encode it to MPEG-2 for the DVD, and there will be some loss of quality if EyeTV already had the movie in MPEG-2 format. If it is in MPEG-2 format it is a lot faster to use Toast or Sizzle (free)

WSUS Drivers Best Practices

I am configuring WSUS on our network (Server 2012), and have a couple concerns regarding Driver updates.
I would like the machines connected be able to update their drivers when necessary.
It is important to note that for the Update Files and Languages, I do not plan to update the files locally, but rather have them download from the MS Update Servers.
What I want to avoid is a reporting nightmare.
For example, I do not want my reporting to come back and say:
Group A does not need 1,226 updates.
What are your thoughts on Driver updates via WSUS?

hey guys i just got a PT880 Neo-LSR and have a huge problem i got p4 2.2 400mhz and bought 512 x2 dual channel 400mhz ddr rams
so it doesnt work the pc opens i choose win xp as the op system and then it restart i am guessing i need ddr 226 instead of 400 :( how can i make them run at 266 instead of 400??? pleas help me :(

Ummm, stick to manufacturers recommendations where possible, but there is specific dual channel problems that suggest you should go to at least 2.65 / 2.7 V.
2.8V only really necessary when you start overclocking IMHO.
Also, solution here was the fact that new motherboard was attached to an existing HDD with OS (WinXP) already loaded. If you did the same, please do a clean install of your operating system.

Since that password is tied to his Apple ID, you will need to contact Apple; as far as I know, it will be a somewhat lengthy procedure and you will need to furnish necessary paperwork (including a death certificate as far as I know). Best to either stop at an Apple store or call them to find out exactly what it is you need to do.

Cisco 3745, VPN and Split Tunneling

but after doing so, the situation was actually reversed. While connected to the vpn client you were able to browse the internet but not able to access vpn resources. I undid and redid the configuration several times to rule out keying in problems.
Can one help with this problem... If needed Ill post necessary configs from my router.. Thanks

I am having the same problems with pix 501. With split tunnel, I get web but no lan access. Without split tunnel, full lan access, no web. My acl for the splitTunnel is:

Performance Issue in Large volume of data in report

I have a report that will process large amount of data, but it takes too long to process the data into final ALV table, currently im using this logic.
Select ....
Select for all entries...
Loop at table into workarea...
read table2 where key = workarea-key binary search.
modify table.
read table2 where key = workarea-key binary search.
modify table.
endloop.
Currently i select all data that i need (only fields necessary) create a big loop and read other table to insert it to the fields in the final table

You can use field symbols instead of work area.
If you use field symbols there is no need of modify statement.
Here are two equivalent code:
1) using work areas :
types: begin of lty_example,
col1 type char1,
col2 type char1,
col3 type char1,
end of lty-example.
data:lt_example type standard table of lty_example,
       lwa_example type lty_example.
field-symbols : <lfs_example> type lty_example.
suppose if you have the following information in your internal table
col1 col2 col3
1      1    1
1      2    2
2      3    4
Now you may use the modify statement using work areas
loop at lt_example into lwa_example.
lwa_example-col2 = '9'.
modify lt_example index sy-tabix from lwa_example transporting col2.
endloop.
or better using field-symbols:
loop at lt_example assigning <lfs_example>
<lfs_example>-col2 = '9'.
*here there is no need of modify statement.
endloop.
The code using field-symbols is about 10 times faster tahn using work areas and modify statement.

I dont know much about the "Display Query On Web" feature in BW but yes, there is an iView provided in EP using which you can display BW data onto RP.
The iView is called "SAP BW Report iView".
For use this:
1. Create a System Object in EP having BW server configs, so that EP talks to BW system.
2. After creating the above mentioned query, you need to specify necessary data in these 2 properties:
i> BEx Web Application Query String => BW query string
ii> System ==> The BW system object created in EP.

How to Copy a Specific Time Machine Back-Up to Ext Hard Drive

I'm transitioning from a MBP early 09 to a MBA mid 11. I pruned the MBP pretty well to migrate items from it to the Air, but I want to preserve the last "full" Time Machine back-up of the MBP to an external hard-drive. Not the "latest" - as the lastest back-up includes the pruning need to migrate necessary items from the Pro to the Air - but one dated a few days before I began the pruning. How do I get that specific back-up (currently on External Hard Drive A - 250 GB) onto a new external hard drive (Ext Hard Drive B - 1TB)? I want to preserve that specific back up then ERASE Ext Hard Drive A to use as a portable for the the MBA. Thank you.

don't delete anything on the TM drive using finder. you can do it from TM interface. however, in your case it will not help because TM will always make a full backup after a system restore like you did and there is absolutely no way to avoid it. as suggested you might want to reformat the TM drive and start backups from scratch.
BTW, to delete a single backup you start TM, scroll back to that backup, click on the "gears" action button in Finder's toolbar and select "delete backup".

Is it possible to migrate data from a 4.6C system to an ECC 6.0 system?

Hello all,
We have an ECC6.0/Oracle 11g system which runs Finance, Purchasing and Payroll/HR for our own organisation.
We also have another 4.6C/Oracle9 system where we run only Payroll for another organisation.
This is a separate landscape (Dev / Test / Prod / DR) which runs on its own hardware.
Clearly, this 4.6C system has to be upgraded in the next 12 months or so before it is out of maintenance.
However, we are exploring whether it would be possible to migrate the data from the 4.6C system to our existing ECC6.0 system instead of upgrading the 4.6C system.
In this way, we can decommission the 4.6C hardware and simplify our landscape.
Has anyone undertaken a similar exercise who would be willing to share their experiences?
Or does anyone have any opinions as to whether this would even be possible?
Our initial thinking is that we would probably have to write our own conversion programs and/or possibly use LSMW but it's early days so any feedback is welcome.

You can make of ALE/IDOCs technology to transfer the required data from 4.6C system to ECC 6.0 system. Here you will need to perform necessary mapping of the fields and perform required technical configuration. Later write ABAP codes to fetch and transfer data .

Dtp error when loading data from one cube to another cube?

it seems strange that when I tick the some characteristics as navigational attributes in the cube , the error occurs during the execution of the DTP:error while updating to target Z* (Cube name ).
once i turn the flag off , no error appear. could anyone give me a clue ?

When u make changes in the cube u need to make necessary changes in Transformation and activate the DTP.The checking of Navigational attributes in cube will appear in u r transformation as new fields where u need to create a mapping for them and then activate, also activate your DTP and then load the data. This should resolve your issue.

Previews are Blurry in Bridge CS6

On several occasions I have seen that some images are previewed blurry in Bridge CS6.
I have set the preview to full resolution/quality, so this is not the issue.
When it happens, it happens like this:
1. I have a layered file, and the preview is good and sharp.
2. Then I sharpen, and the preview is blurry.
This has occurred numerous times. I thought the preview was corrupted, so I deleted the file, and hauled it back from the trash, so a new preview would be built.
Again, this new preview would again be blurry. (Out of 20 files, two had a blurry preview - and the files themselves were NOT blurry).
Flattening such a file does not help. While the flattened file is also sharp in Photoshop, its preview remains blurry. A copied file also has the blurry preview.
I don't see any correlation with image dimensions, file sizes. Some images just randomely are previewed blurry in Bridge CS6.
The only correlation I see is that it is ALWAYS SHARPENED IMAGES that are previewed blurry (the unsharpened versions always look much sharper in Bridge CS6)
What can I do to have Bridge CS6 preview ALL images correctly?
edit: I purged the cache for this folder, and the rebuilt preview is again blurry.
Even worse, now 50 out of 100 images have blurry previews.
How can I get previews that I can work with?

I have a latest generation MacBook Pro retina, so that should be fine.
It actually worked when I purged the cache for this folder a second time. The blur went away.
The first time I had done a "select all" images to show Bridge which previews I needed rebuilt - not necessary, maybe that was an overload for Bridge.

Allowing user to click check boxes in any order

Hi,
I'm using Captivate 5.5 to create a training session with our software. On a particular page, our trainer wants me to instruct the user to click every check box on a page. Since there are 10 check boxes, I would like to let the user click all the check boxes in any order, as opposed to clicking them in the same order that I did using the normal training recording.
I've been trying to insert click boxes and assign variables, but then I run into the problem of not being able to show the checkmark when the check box is clicked.
Has anyone run into this problem or tried to created a page where the user can click multiple object in no particular order?

This is perfectly possible with the checkboxes widget, and will be a lot less work than messing with images and click boxes. The big advantage of the checkboxes widget is that it is static, so you do not need to worry about rewinding the playhead which would be the case if you are working with interactive objects. However if you want to offer a 'reset' to the user, or perhaps to return to the slide with the widget, I warmly recommend to download the free enhanced checkboxes widget created by Jim Leichliter, because it allows you to control the variables associated with the widget.
I will not explain extensively how to use it, bit in a hurry because I have to teach in a couple of minutes. But here are some links: first a link to Jim's widget, than to a blog post where I explain the use of the Default Checkboxes widget, and third the explanation of the enhanced version.

Just one last warning: I did not check the maximum checkboxes supported by the widget (you need 10), if necessary however you can insert the widget twice. However never duplicate a widget, nor have them in the same space on the stage.

Iam new to workflows. I have been reading the documents on Workflows on SDN and few other sites.
I want to know whether we can create a production order using Workflows. If so, How we need to
pass necessary data like Material, Plant, Order type, Quantity and Basic Start date/ Basic finish date to
the Workflows? I have idea about Business objects, Events,Step types and overview of the workflow
terminology and pracitced few examples on workflows. Can anybody help me please?

I dont know about standard existing workflows available for your requirement as mentioned in one of the posts here. so you better check the availale standard first and then decide if you want to build a customised one
and wat i told you is wat u need to do if you go for a customising one................ first of all identify what abap you are going to write to create your prodcution order. either its BAPI or BDC whatever.......maybe you create your own function module for doing that stuff...............then you extend the busines object of the prod order , then you add another method in it and call your function module in this method.........
ok now you create activity step in your workflow that you have already made with all the start events and things like that.........this activity step will have a task that calls this new method of yours..... .
you need to know some basic fundamentals of workflow for doing all this and if its your first time then it wil take some time.......
