Need opinion on two books

i'm sorry that this might seem off topic - i couldn't find a c# reference books forum here oddly!
i've decided that my programming skills are limited by only knowing Java and have come to the conclusion that i need to get into .net. C# is obviously the best way of doing this and i've found two books written specifically for Java programmers wanting to learn C#.
The first is:
"From Java to C#" by Glenn Rowe.
Published May 04

The other is:
"C# for Java Programmers" by Harold Cabrera
Published June 02
608 pages
ISBN: 193183654X
Now, they're both roughly round the �35 mark so i can't really afford to buy both. I have heard of the "for Java Programmers" books before, but it seems to be a little out of date although the essentials probably remain the same.
If anyone has either book then i'd love to know what you think

Why limit yourself to only titles that focus on converting from Java to C#. Languages have far more similarities than differences. Core language API's are also remarkably similar in what they offer. You are familiar with Java presumably and have a good foundation to build on. Buy the best, most current C# book on the market. Languages are like tools. Pick the right one. And even if you are not familiar with a given language, the concepts involved should not be foreign to you. (Granted, add a lot of extra time to move from procedural to OO or vice versa).

Design one universe vs two universe....need opinion

Data warehouse consist of 2 Fact table F1 and F2 and 8 dimensions(3 common dimension tables and 5 others).
Fact table F1 and F2 in warehouse have three common dimension table.
I need opinion about how to arrange universe for this data warehouse.
Report consist of measure from both fact tables.
What will be right way : -
1. create two separte universe - one for each fact table.
2. use single universe and use alias for common dimension.
3. use single universe ans use context.

Creating Two Universes will be worst option I guess because it will be more or same like the option 2 you have mentioned. But creating 2 universes will increase the overhead of maintaining two universes.
From option 2 and option 3 you can select any one for such a requirement. I guess the performance of both will be the same.
The Advantage of option two will be that it will never asks for selecting context at run time, such situation might be possible in option 3.
Also, option 2 will take less time to develop as you may not find any loops.

Hi, I am trying to create one finished book that essentially is made up of two books - the books are for two seperate regions of a country and what the ability to be able to create the book so that the one side of the book will have the cover, information and page numbering for region 'A' and when you flip the book over, the other side will have the cover, information and page numbering for region 'B'. If each half is strictly independent from the other (i.e could be bound separately without any pages from the other half getting mixed in) there is no need to do anything fancy at all. I just order 8 calendars from iPhoto and they came to me fine. Now I need to order two more but when I go thru the process I get a message saying:unable to assemble calendar. There is a probleme with the photo with the file name"(Null)" more........ .

Would someone be able to explain to me the following issue with Iphoto?
I ordered 8 same calendars for my soccer team and received them fine. Although a couple of pictures on it are a little off (out of focus). I need to order two more of the same calendars but when I go thru the process ireceive an error message saying:
"Unable to to assemble calendar" There is a problem with the photo with the file name "(Null)" The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace this photo or delete it from your calendar.
How can I fine this "corrupt" photo? How did it go thru with the first batch of calendars but won't go thru now?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

sure pretty simple. make a backup of your current settings

then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
then import pics to computer

you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

HI all
1)Do we have provision in SAP for maintaining two books ofaccounts for the folllowing scenarios
a) direct billing to customer in India
b) shipped to banglore location and billed to mumbai location
How the consolidation takes place in the above scenario. Can we maintain two books of accounts for single company code?

What you are talking about is called partner function.
You have a provision in SAP that is known as "Ship to Party" and "Bill to Party"
You don't need to maintain two different books of accounts.
Partner function feature in SAP will take care of this scenario.
While creating the sales order, you will need to specify ship to party and bill to party
While creating the customer master data, you need to give the information of "alternative payer" in the "payment transactions" tab.

In that case, you can simply set the visible and includeInLayout properties for the viewstack that should NOT display to false, based on who logs in.

I got a requirement for purchase order at workflow template level need to add two activities like below
a) p.o changed
b) p.o cancelled.
once p.o changed based on agent determination agent will receive the mail in his inbox same functionality for p.o cancelled.
also at work item level need to add attributes .
but currently standard workflow for PO release it WS200000075 have only release activity .
how to add activity types to be available workflow template also please let me how to do binding for above activities once created?

yes this p.o workflow based on release strategy. i was copied the standard workflow template added activities
one is for changed and another is rejection.
once functional guy rejected the purchase order rejection activity not working properly
also same problem faced for changed step also while change the p.o value at item level.
i am using business object BUS2012 adding attributes for work item.
please guide me how to achieve above functionality also how to do binding for changing and rejection activities?

I have for the past three and a half hours have been trying to redeem my itunes gift card. It is for $25.00 and I need to purchase a book. My card is unreadable....The first letters and numbers are fine but the middle....looks like four numbers/letters combination is missing and then the last four digits are fine. I have typed in what looks just like the letters and it says invalid everytime. So I went to express and did what they said and still it says invalid. Need to reprint photo book created with iPhoto & My Publisher

I created two photo books in December of 2006 via iPhoto and used the My Publisher plugin to use that service for output. Anyway, I gave the book as a gift and now I would like to make a copy for myself. The problem is that My Publisher cannot reprint these books... this was verified today by one source at MP.
So, what are my options, I strongly prefer the MP option (that's not available) because I wanted an exact copy and the price is right (about half of what Apple charges last I checked).
BTW: These two books were created with two different versions of iPhoto... maybe v5 & v6.

So your choices are to order from Apple or redo the book for some other source of your choice
