Hello, All I can find online are the 8.1.7 client tools, were can I obtain the 8.1.6 tools for nt/2000? We have the 8.1.7 tools, but are unable to export from a 8.1.6 server sucessfully and have instructed to obtain the 8.1.6 tools.
Thanks,
Kyle Patrick

Yes.
Although we haven't shipped any library specific to 816, you can use the library that is
in
$WL_HOME/bin/oci815_8 directory.

I get the 'no weblogicoci36 ...' exception and I'm trying to minimize the causes...
Thanks in advance,

  • Does Admin server need Oracle Client

I have a setup where the admin server resides on a different server than the managed server. To setup a Data Source/connection pool does the admin server need to have the Oracle client setup for the data source to work which is targeted ONLY to the managed server.
    Thanks

JohnHi John, no, and we recoomend highly that you use the oracle driver
in the thin mode, which needs no Oracle client installation at all.

  • Do we need Oracle client?

    Hi,
I have Java-JSP running on my local machine. I don't have Oracle client on my dektop. I am trying to connect to the database server using Oracle Drivers (classes12.jar). I am getting SqlException: Network Adapter Could not establish connection.
I am not sure whether I need to have Oracle Client installation? Does oracle drivers help us to talk to oracle database without client installed? Please let me know.

    Hi,
I have Java-JSP running on my local machine. I don't
have Oracle client on my dektop. I am trying to
connect to the database server using Oracle Drivers
(classes12.jar). I am getting SqlException: Network
    Adapter Could not establish connection.
I am not sure whether I need to have Oracle Client
installation? Does oracle drivers help us to talk to
oracle database without client installed? Please let
me know.If you are using the OCI driver then you must have the client installed.
The client install would also allow you to use "tnsping" which determines connectivity to the oracle database.
The oracle data is installed on another computer correct? (If it is on your desktop then there is no point in not also having the Oracle client installed on your desktop.)

  • Acces Oracle DB, do i need oracle client locally

i have asp.net application which acces an Oracle DB throught ODP .net, my project includes the Oracle.DataAccess.dll, my test server has a oracle 10g client on it so i can access the DB fine, although the DB is on another server, wheni move my application to my live server and open my application (logon.aspx connects the DB ) i get this error :Unable to load DLL 'OraOps10.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
do i need to have an Oracle Client installation on my production server, can I not just access using ODP without having to have a client locally?

In your live web server, you will have to install ODP.NET using the OUI installer. The ODP.NET can be downloaded from "http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html". When you run the installer, you will have to select the ODP.NET component and install it.
Just GAC'ing Oracle.DataAccess.dll will not work as it requires several other unmanaged dlls to implement ODP.NET functionality.

  • Need Oracle Client 8.1.7.4 Version

I can find the 8.1.7.0 download but do not see an 8.1.7.4 version for download. How do I find that version and complete a download?

Patchsets are available from Metalink if you have a support contract. Unfortunately, you cannot generally get access to patchsets without a support contract.

  • Oracle XE Client Tools

Besides the SQL*Plus command line client interface and the HTML DB Web client interface, are there are other tools that can be used to enter SQL or PL/SQL commands to Oracle XE? Are they available for download? Thank you.

    Well,
you can basically use all tools that are available as client tools for any Oracle database.
Oracle tools (from Oracle) you don't need a license for are:
    - Oracle Raptor (not production yet but stable): http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/project_raptor/index.html
    - Oracle JDeveloper ( Java Development environment ): http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/index.html
Besides that you can use any client tool to work with Oracle ( http://www.google.de/search?num=50&hs=MAE&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Ade%3Aofficial&q=oracle+client+tool+sql+&btnG=Search ) and through ODBC / OLEDB even with many MS tools, e.g. MS ACCESS.
    Toad is pretty powerful: http://www.toadsoft.com/lic_agree.html
What type of client tool are you looking for?

  • This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.

    hi friends ,
My report Fetch from the orcle database , we installed Oracle 10g and 11g - clent 32 -bit on win 2k8 -64 bit machine .while design time runing fine, but ofter depolyement im facing below issue.
In error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
The execution failed for the shared data set 'abc'. (rsDataSetExecutionError)
Cannot create a connection to data source ' Data source for shared dataset'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
Any help is greatly appreciated, I have tried couple of solutions going through some threads online but no use and place dt tell install 1og r 11g 64-bit

    Hi,
Based on the error message, we should confirm whether Oracle client tool has been installed on the Report Server at the beginning. If the Report Server installed is 64-bit, we should also install a 64-bit Oracle client tool on the Report Server. Besides, we
can also try to bypass tnsnames.ora file when connecting to Oracle by specifying all the information in the data source instead of using the TNS alias to connect
to the Oracle database. Please see the sample below:
    Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(CID=GTU_APP)(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST= server01.mydomain.com)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=OracleDB)(SERVER=DEDICATED)));
    Reference:http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dataaccesstechnologies/archive/2010/06/30/ora-12154-tns-could-not-resolve-the-connect-identifier-specified-error-while-creating-a-linked-server-to-oracle.aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle client for Itanium2 CPU (Montvale)

We found an oracle client software which works on Montesito CPU (previous Itanium2 CPU). But this version of the software does not support Windows Server 2008 Itanium Edition.
We need oracle Client which works on Intel Itanium2 (Montvale) CPU and Windows Server 2008 Itanium Edition(x64).
Would you please inform me how can i get the latest Oracle Client software which supports Intel Itanium2-Montvale CPU?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best Regards.

If you didn't find one on otn, than I'm afraid you won't find one...
I only found the ones certified for Win Server 2003 Itanium, but Server 2008 seems only to be certified for x86...
You could hope that Server 2003 client works under Server 2008 (I'd give that a go), but that's not certified...

  • Compile with Oracle Client 10.0.5

I know that node-oracledb needs Oracle Client 11.2 or above as it states on the github repository. What I would like to know if it is possible to use the oracle client 10.0.5, even with less features.
I'm asking this because I have some oracle 9.0.1 databases in production and they won't be upgraded soon and I would like to use nodejs with them :-)
Event-loop and asynchronous access are perfect for what I need...
    TYA
    Alex

I would love to upgrade :-)
We're talking about 400 Oracle 7.3.4 Databases connected to 400 Oracle 9.0.1 databases, running Oracle Forms 3  and Forms 6 :-)
I imagine that 5 years from now we will still have this situation, so my question about this possibility.
Just to lighten up I was imagining node as a broker for all these databases :-)

  • BO client tools

    Hello experts,
One of our projects in our company needs BO client tools including crystal reports and xcelsius. Our client already has the servers package installed. But we cannot access it as we do not have client tools.
    Our requirements are basically to:
    - View and change designs of BO reports( crystal, WebI, xcelsius)
    Our questions are:
    - Can we buy only the client tools? Will it suit our requirements listed above?
    - Do the below stated software packages include only client tools or both?
SAPCrystal Reports 2008 INTL WIN 3-9 NUL
SAPCrystal Reports 2008 INTL WIN NUL License
BA&T SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite (user)
-What would be the best package suited to our requirements for BO Xcelsius?
Any information on the above would be very much appreciated. We have raised this query with SAP as well but there is no response so far.
    Kind regards,
    Minuj
    SAP BI consultant

    hi
If you have purchased the server -- it is likely that you have the client licenses -- check with the person who was involved with making the purchase in your company.
For Xcelsius -- it depends upon your needs -- here is a short summary
u2022 Xcelsius Present enables users to create models with Microsoft Excel data.
u2022 Xcelsius Engage enables users to create models and connect them to a single external data sources.
u2022 Xcelsius Engage Server enables users to create models, connect them to multiple external data sources, and deploy them in a portal environment.
u2022 Xcelsius Enterprise enables users to create models and deploy them in a BusinessObjects Enterprise or SAP NetWeaver BW environment

  • Which oracle client for aix 6 xi31 sp3?

I need oracle client 10.2 for a installation of xi31 sp3 on aix 6 with an oracle 11g db in order for ldap to work properly.
My apologies for my lack of DB (oracle) experience,  however, can someone please tell me which file I need for this and the associated link to download it?

    Hi,
Please explain in more details what do you mean "which files"?
If you mean getting the physical files, then :
To download BOE XI 3.1 with SP3, you need to log onto the SAP Support Portal (aka: Service Market Place) - http://service.sap.com/
The Oracle D/B and the Oracle client will need to come from Oracle website. You will need to check with Oracle to see how you can get your hands on the files.
As for AIX 6.1, I assumed that should already been setup since you quoted that in your last note.

  • Oracle client Download for 9208 windows

    Hi .
Kindly help me with link to download oracle client for 9208 version for Windows 2000 32 bit.
    Regards
    Vijay

Refer readme for patch 4547809 on MOS.
Section "12 Patch Set Components " - table entry "Oracle Client required support files " confirms that this patch can be applied on 9.2.0.x client installation.
There is no sentence indicating the same in 9.2.0.8 readme (which is there in any 10.2.0.x readme).

Hello Manisha, do you have a Pentium 4 processor on your machine ? If it is true, you can try to delete a file from your directory named SYMCJ^^.DLL, where ^^ stands for your language initials. For example, in italian it is SYMCJIT.DLL
