Need original software disc

So I have the 30GB ipod, white, 5th generation. It came with a disc to download the software to my desktop. I now would like to use my ipod on a different laptop but no longer have that original disc. I have downloaded the newest version of itunes but when I plug in my ipod, itunes doesn't detect it. I've gone to the device manager on windows and it shows the ipod there with an exclamation point. I follow the prompts to correct problem and it tells me that the necessary software isn't found and to enter the original disc. As I said before I no longer have the disc (lost it or got thrown away). Is there any way to get a new disc or can I download this software from somewhere? I can't update any software thru itunes because it isn't even recognizing my ipod in the first place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

>I need a recovery disc or the original software disc for XP but none of this was supplied with it.
I'm in doubt about it. According notebook specification Satellite M50-161 is delivered with follow medias:
- Recovery Medias (CD-ROM or DVD)
- Express Media Player
- Additional Software CD
- Microsoft Works Suite
All old notebook models are delivered with recovery CDs. I have old Satellite m70 and still have original Toshiba recovery installations DVD.
Anyway, you can try to contact nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. To be honest I don't believe you will get it for this old notebook model. For OS installation you can also use Microsoft installations CD. All drivers, tools and utilities you can download from Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Install discs are original mini disks ver. 10.3.7
    w/ Xcode installed
upgraded via System update to 10.3.9
as installed by apple everything worked ok, but due to some system issues I had to reformat drive, and reinstall. iPhoto seems to have installed (at least there's an icon for it, and a window opens when icon is double clicked), but it will immediately quit when launched with an error that it is missing files it needs, and to reinstall from the iLife discs.
    There was not a separate iLife disc included with the mini just the install DVD, and the OS 9 disc. The error doesn't say what files are missing, but a quick visit to the Console shows the following;
    "iPhoto[384] Can't find ImageIO!"
I have tried reinstalling several times since, installing iPhoto only, all bundled software, and full reformat/reinstall, all with the same results. It seems that the install disc I got was faulty, and won't properly install the bundled software.
Is there any way to get just the missing ImageIO? From this website, or just some helpful poster?

  • Need ORIGINAL software back!! PLEASE PLEASE help!!!!!

OMGOMGOMG...I was trying to do some clever things with my Nano (4gb 3rd) and now something is terribly wrong. Everything I had on it (tunes, pictures, etc) are GONE...completely. There is nothing on it, but yet I only have 512kb showing available!!! When trying to do some customization, the directions prompted me to use some firmware and some iPod wizard thingy...and then things went nuts from there.
I did a reset, but everything is still the same. When I go into my iPod through MY COMPUTER (windows), there are a ton of folders with weird symbols as names and I cannot open ANY of them. NONE! And one folder is like over 3gb and when I hover over it with my mouse, it shows "EMPTY".
I am SICK over this. I don't think technically-challenged people should be trying neat things..and I learned my lesson. Please help get me back to my original Nano state!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! I owe you BIG time for help!!!!

Just use the restore option in iTunes.

I'm sorry no-one has answered you yet - I'm afraid I don't know the answer to the question: but I wanted to put into your mind that starting up with AppleWorks at this stage isn't a good idea. The program was 'end-of-lifed' years ago, it won't run on Lion, and some of the document types created in it - Databases in particular - cannot be opened at all by any other program whatever. Word Processing documents can be opened in Pages, and Spreadsheets in Numbers (with some reservations in both cases), but building up a collection of AppleWorks documents at this stage is going to lead to problems later on.
It's difficult to know what to recommend for a PowerPC machine that would still be compatible with modern ones. An older version of Microsoft Office, perhaps, if you can find one which will run on PPC; but most of the modern Word Processors are Intel only. This is something you would need to investigate.

  • I have replaced my faulty hard drive on my macbook air 1.1 and need to reinstall the original software where can in find this on the apple web site?

I have replaced my faulty hard drive on my macbook air 1.1 with a new ssd, I need to reinstall the original software, where can I find this on the apple site?

There is no download for the software.  The factory software that you are looking for is called ilife.  It is all of the software that would have came preinstalled with your mac on your original hard drive when you first bought it.  You will have to get new software on your computer.  This might actually be a great opurtunity to upgrade to Lions.  Search the Lions software in the mac store and it will come up.  Click add to cart and check out.  The price for it is $20.  I defientely recomend Lions, it has alot of new great features.  Then wate for the install disk to come in the mail.  when it come just pop it in and follow the step by step instructions.  If you dont want to upgrade to lions however you can download the ilife package from apple.com for a small price.  Hope this helps.

  • I need to reinstall my original factory disc and reset my computer to the beginning. It currently has lion. Do I need to erase my HD first to clear and make new room for the install disc.

    Prepare Your Mac for Sale
Boot from the OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer.  After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.  After DU loads select the startup volume from the left side list then click on the Erase tab.  Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then click on the Options button.  Select the one pass Zero Data option and click on the OK button.  Then click on the Erase button.
Note: You can skip the Zero Data option if you are not concerned about removing sensitive personal data from the hard drive.  If you choose to skip this part of the process then it is possible for others to recover data from the hard drive.  The Zero Data procedure will prevent others from getting access to your personal information.
This process will take 30 minutes to several hours depending upon the size of the hard drive.  After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Now complete the OS X installation.  At the completion of the installation do not restart the computer.  Instead just shut it off.  The next user will be presented with the Setup Assistant when they turn on the computer just as it would if new out of the box.

  • The computer wont boot from original boot disc

I replaced the dead hard drive with a new hard drive. I used a disc utility to format the drive. But the computer keeps on spitting out the dvd when I try to reinstall the OS from the original disc. And yes I'm holding down the "c" key.

So, to review and confirm the facts: You have a PB G4 667MHz DVI with a new, blank hard drive in it, and you need to install an OS on that drive. You have the PB's original model-specific OS 9.2.2 and 10.1.4 installer CD and its original Hardware Test CD, neither of which will boot it, and both of which are ejected from the drive when you try to do so. You also have your AppleCare Protection Plan/TechTool Deluxe CD, which does boot the Powerbook (yes?) — suggesting that the optical drive is functional, at least with that CD. You were also able to boot it from a PowerMac G4 CD (or is it a DVD?) to format the new hard drive, but you haven't yet said whether you are still able to boot to that disc (Can you?). [You probably can't install OS X from that disc, and you shouldn't even if you can, because the installation would be unreliable at best if it worked at all.] You've eliminated all external devices.
All correct so far? How about answers to those questions in italics?
Have you owned this Powerbook since it was new? Has its logic board ever been replaced, to your knowledge? The only cases I know of where a Powerbook has failed to work with the discs that came with it (and the discs and the optical drive were in good condition) have been ones in which the PB's original logic board had been replaced with a faster one, resulting in a machine configuration that the original installer disc(s) didn't recognize and wouldn't work with. But even then, I believe what happened was that the discs presented the "You can't install this software on this computer" standard error message after booting the computer — not that the discs were summarily ejected without booting it. So for the present, I'm stumped.
For whatever it's worth — maybe not much — my current theory is that you have a marginally or intermittently malfunctioning optical drive. But I'm going to try to call in some reinforcements for you and see whether someone else has a brighter idea.
Meanwhile, if you have the equipment and software to do so, you might try connecting the Powerbook to another FireWire-equipped Mac in FireWire Target Disk Mode, booting the other Mac to a retail OS X installer CD or DVD, and seeing whether you can then use that installer to put OS X onto your Powerbook's new hard drive. If it works, you'll have the Powerbook up and running afterward, but you may have the devil's own time getting other stuff installed on it or using its optical drive for any other tasks in normal, stand-alone working mode.

  • Erasing iMac and Installing original software

I have an older iMac (early 2008) that i am trying to erase and reinstall original software to give to my daughter. The iMac is a :
    iMac (early 2008)
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Running OS 10.9.2
    Model IDENTIFIER =iMac8,1
The install DVD I have is a Mac OS X Tiger. When I try to boot from this disk to enter disk utility and begin erasing I receive the error message
"You can't open the application "InstallMac OS X" because Power PC applications are no longer supported".
I was pretty sure this was the disk originally provided with this iMac, but obviously, I may be wrong.
Can someone direct me to the proper install disk for this iMac? Or advise if I am not booting the disk properly.
    Thank you.

If you can't find any DVD come with your iMac, there is another option.  Visit Apple Store, ask them help you to clean install your Mac
If you have the disc on hand, make backup first, you can use time machine or other apps.  then clean install by originl DVD of 10.6, you will need:
    1. Insert DVD to Mac
    2. Startup your iMac in startup disk manager by holding "alt" key when switch on your mac.
    3. Select the install disc by using left/right of arrow keys then hit "return" key and wait for the next instruction.
    4. Select language then preparing the installation progress
    5. Click "Utilities", in the Memu bar select Disk Utilities
    6. After Disk Utilities launched, Partition Hard Drive
    7. Wait hard drive partitioning completed, then click Quit
    8. Now select hard drive just partitioned to install Mac OS 10.6
    9. Wait for installation to be complete
    10. Done

  • Where and how do I save data before reinstall original software?

My mail program is corrupt and I want to reinstall the software.  How do I make sure my data is saved somewhere?
If I want to reinstall the whole original software, is the saving of data difficult?

In Disk Utility>Security options>Zero out data
Boot from the install disk > select language > DON'T select Continue > instead go to Disk Utility in the MenuBar at top.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24002
Don't know if this would help, but for the Mail issue, you could try "Rebuild" in Mailbox from Menu > (select the mailbox) > Rebuild
The AW problem might or might not be related to corruption from the bad blocks that weren't mapped out by zeroing out, or the data that was already corrupted earlier from those bad blocks. After you zero out, you could try re-installing AW. Realize, zeroing out will wipe your drive. If you do this, be ready to re-install everything.
Look over what Limnos wrote earlier. Zeroing and re-installing, clean as much as possible may prove to be the real solution.
Maybe the original damage was only minor, so, before you do this, you could first try repairing the drive (from Disc Utility booted from the disc, "Repair Disc.") Then, if everything is successful, when you are _booted back normally_, repair Permissions. Don't repair them booted from the disc. This might or might not resolve the problem with AW and Mail. At least, if these are the only issues you are experiencing, give this a try before taking the drastic step of a clean install, which involves a lot of work. You can always do this later if you keep uncovering new issues.
See how this goes first and post back with the results. If you take the zero out path, I think you will need to re-format the drive.
EDIT one more thing. You definitely don't want to zero the drive until you have some kind of clone/backup from which to move everything back, or you will lose all your data: mail, documents, music, etc.

I have a macbook 2006 its hard drive was not working anymore so i install a new 500GB hard drive but now i just need the software. Which one should i buy?

    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
You could contact Apple Support and see if they have the original discs for that machine but it would be 10.4.11 and there's no reason not to go to at least Snow Leopard, especially since the 10.6 discs would probably cost the same as a replacement set of 10.4.11

  • Original restore discs for iMac G4 20-inch?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I have all and the correct restore discs. So, could someone, who has an iMac G4 1.25GHz 20" and its original software install and restore discs, tell me:
    1. How many discs in total did your iMac come with?
    2. Is restore disc # 1 a DVD and are the other two CDs?
    3. What is each disc's ID number? For instance, one of mine reads 2Z691-4708-A.
    Thank you.

You could call Apple sales and ask, providing them a Serial Number
and product information, as needed, if they can tell you the correct
part or reference number of the original discs in the restore-install
    packet included with the computer.
And if you do not have it there, place an order while you have them
on the phone. The main Apple Sales number in the web page is
most likely the first portal into accessing most items or services.
They can redirect you, if necessary. Could be the best source.
And if the computer is too old, they or an Apple Specialist, may
have the information you seek in a different Support database.
Then you can ebay or otherwise look for the correct disc set.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How do I get the original software for my HP Pavilion g7-1329wm Notebook PC

I recently had a vicious virus that encrypted my pictures and files in my computer; had it removed from the computer and now internet explorer does not operate correctly and I have to use Chrome for browsing.  I was told that I need to get the original software to fix this problem, how do I get this and is there anything else I can do?

    Backup your data.
To perform a factory restore, repeatedly tap the F11 Key at boot to enter the recovery manager.  Follow the screen prompts.
If no go, use the recovery disks hopefully you created when you got the computer.  If not and if you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number 1-800-334-5144, and see if you can still get a set of recovery disks.  If not via the WorldWide site: http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/support.html
If HP does not have them, they do at Computer Surgeons:

I installed a new SSD drive in my computer and now Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium says I don't have a license. I have license. It was very expensive. I am disabled now, and I need this software working. Adobe Acrobat has been a primary tool for accommodating memory problems after a brain injury. (A car ran me down while I was out getting exercise.) I installed the SSD because I needed my management of PDF files to run faster. I called tech support for help when the software first stopped working, but they needed me to give them a number from my original disks. Because of my disability, I've been having someone come in to clean, and the shelves where I kept my software packages were cleared. I've been hunting for them ever since, but I can't look for them myself for very long at a time. Today I finally found them, but now I can't seem to contact tech support. What happened? I don't want to delete my old files because I need the setup to remain unchanged, because I don't do well with changes. I think all I should need is to have someone located the license file on drive E: and move it to wherever it is needed on the SSD drive, but I don't know what to look for.

Tech support is not normally available on weekends.  You should contact them as soon as the weekend passes and pick up where you left off with them.
