  • Needed Improvements for BlackBerry Link

Add the ability to synchronize MS Outlook Notes along with Contacts and Calendar via the USB connection
Add the ability to select conflicting data to be used to update either the device or MS Outlook.  When data conflicts provide a list similar to the deletion notification and allow the user to select either the device data or MS Outlook data on a record by record basis of conflicted data.

    Hi Gabriel,
You are almost certainly hitting a limitation of the Blackberry Browser. I have not developed for Blackberry but have for many other simple devices like mobile phones and many do not support advanced features like CSS, client-side scripting, events, etc.
Your example is trying to use Javascript and eventing.
Dumb down your HTML code to simple HTML elements and it will work fine. This really means writting stateless pages as well.
    Cheers

  • Mobipocket Reader for Blackberry 8520?

Does anyone know how I can install Mobipocket Reader on my 8520? I had a Mobipocket on my previous Blackberry that was lost unfortunately and found it really easy to use. I've tried downloading the Mobi for Desktop and clicked the install new device > Blackberry Device and a pop up would appear and say you must download Blackberry Desktop Manager even if I already have. The links on the Mobipocket website are unfortunately not working and it would be really great if you could help. A step by step instructions would be wonderful. Thanks and have a great day!

There is no Adobe product for the Blackberry. Adobe doesn't pre-announce
products until they are nearly ready to ship. They also don't usually
announce the products they haven't considered making. I don't see Adobe
has much to gain in making a Reader for the Blackberry. Since pdfs are
an international standard these days, anyone can make one. RIM thinks it
is necessary for their market, perhaps they will make one.

  • Need Help for Blackberry passport

OK, thank you. I therefore recommend you attempt an OS reload via the unofficial methods, which are cleaner, and allow you to choose an OS version that perhaps your carrier (or whoever it is controlling your offers) has been slow to approve:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/bb10-os-archive-943672/Of course, before you started any of this you hopefully already took a good backup via LINK, a manual copy of your Device Memory to your PC, and full documentation of your configuration (account credentials, added apps, configurations, etc.). Sometimes, restoring from a backup returns to the device the very corruption one needs to eliminate, and reconfiguring from scratch can resolve that.

Passport will not update using Blackberry link on my computer. It goes for about five minuites until it is about 6% loaded and then gives a software failure message saying there was an errorWhich part of that is the exact and complete error message please? It is difficult to parse between what you are saying and what you are quoting. Better still, you can try looking up the error message in the public KBs:http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.dodanielbcrossman wrote:
Seeking to download ver 10.3.1.2.2708.There is no such 5 octet version...all BB OS's are 4 octets, never 5. The unofficial AutoLoader methods, which are more "forceful", are already posted above in post 8 of this thread. If you do elect to use the unofficial methods, then you need to be aware of the difference between Software Release and OS level. Refer:http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.doThe official methods use SR, but the unofficial methods (as well as most discussions here with others) all use the actual OS. Further still, if you are seeking 10.3.2, then do be aware of the mandatory "anti theft" feature which is included in that branch. You must know your BBID credentials...if not, you can render your device useless, even to you. Good luck!

  • Selecting different ringtone for in holster in OS v5.0 for BlackBerry 8520

    Updated yesterday to OS v5.0.
Previously in v4.7 it was possible to select a different ringtone for when the phone was out the holster and a different one for when in the Holster.
I cannot do that now with v5.0.  All that I can now do is turn the ringtone off or on when  in the holster but not select a different ringtone.
Is there any way of doing this like in v4.7?
    THanks.

That should have done it. Try the instructions below:
You want to download this file:
    File name: 8520wifijEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_Globe_Telecom__Inc.exe
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • VOIP ports for blackberry 8520

I am in a new Wi-Fi that does not seem to allow VOIP calls in the network.  I cannot find the ports that the blackberry uses in order to use the UMA connect.  Does anyone know these ports so that I can allow them through the fire wall?
This is for the blackberry curve 8520

You can set the VoIP device to highest priority under Media Prioritization instead of forwarding ports.

  • Please I need help for blackberry 10

I have blackberry 10 z and I try to restore to the Factory settings but I can't its give me the picture all time Hanging now I can't use the mobile

So I take it that you have used both suggested methods.  And of course I am assuming that you have exhausted your service provider.  This hanging message is strange.  When you plug it in and link to link does it not give you the option to restore to factory settings? Maybe try removing the'BB Link' - un-install  and then after a little while go onto the official site and reinstall it.  I'm sure that you have tried a battery pull. If not then do not turn off the handset but pull out the battery in the middle of the program.  Also, do the same to the PC or MAC.  failing all these methods I have exhasted my knowledge in relation to restoring a phone back to factory settings.  Speak to you service provider and have them send you out a new handset.  I am a simple BB user.  I love the phone and believe that in the future all these probs we are facing will be ironed out in time.  I am sure there are other users that may be able to help you futher if my methods do not help.  Let me know  :-)

  • OS5 for 8520 on Orange

    Hi there
Just noticed on the Blackberry website that Orange have finally released OS 5.0.0.1168 for the 8520 but when i go through my phone to use the Wireless Update function it says there is no update available, is this because the OS needs updating through Blackberry Manager or is this not an official release?
    Many thanks

    Hello,
My advice -- never never never do an OTA OS update...to many problems can ensue. Rather, use this instruction set:
