Need password to start my Satellite P300

I have a Satellite P300 and when I turn it on it just come up with a box saying enter password.
Please help.

Unfortunately we dont know anything about your notebook.
Have you set BIOS password or you have bought already used and blocked notebook?
Anyway what are you missing is BIOS password. It is security feature and you cannot do anything about it. It must be removed by Toshiba service provider.

  • I need an AC Adapter for Satellite P300

I'm from Canada first off, I know this is a Europe forum...
Ok, so my question is my AC stopped working and it's not covered under the warrenty,
So I was hoping that you guys could put me in the right direction of getting an adapter cheap, whether off ebay or something....
I noticed a lot of adapters on ebay for toshiba don't list my computer for compatiability.... am i out of luck here or?
    Thanks for the help

    Hi
Why you dont take a look at the bottom of the AC adaptor which has been delivered with your notebook.
There should be a label with all necessary information.
There should be a model/part number and you could find some details about Watt, Volt and Ampere values.
Important is the Volt value. You have to use the AC adaptor which supports exactly the same value! The Ampere could be a little bit higher but if you would google for the part number which you would find on the label then you could purchase exactly the same part!
    Cheers

  • Satellite P300-1A8 - Part number for AC adapter

    Hi.
Can anyone tell me the Part Number of the AC adapter I need to buy for my Satellite P300-1A8?
    Model no: PSPCOE-01H008EN 15550/1024/1024/160G54/17W + BT/D52/L/M/W
The toshiba site doesn't list or recognise the model, CarPhone Warehouse didn't provide me with detailed documents, and the original adapter has been stolen. Failing that, can anyone provide an email address for toshiba (I am unable to phone during their office hours).
Or failing that, some general advice on a compatible adapter please, as I bought an adapter of the correct basic specification - 19V, 3.95A, (75W), 2.5/5.5mm connector (the PA3715E-1ACE) however it doesn't work. The toshiba site lists one other adapter of the same specs (the PA3468E-1AC3) but I am reluctant to risk buying it without being sure it is the correct one. I would be happy to buy a universal adapter but only a high quality one that will not be an electrical hazard.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Clare

    Hi PinkPanther.
Thanks for the reply and the link. That was the part of the site where I found the AC adapter I thought I needed. I could just go ahead and buy the other one, but these are 70 so I really need it to charge the laptop correctly at that price.
My main problem is that no site is recognizing my laptop model - not Toshiba or the authorized service provider - so I can't find out the exact charger online. The second problem is that I can't phone when their help line is open between 9-6pm M-F, as these are my exact work hours and I have no mobile phone reception.
I have messaged Toshiba though their site, but I haven't received a reply, and the advantage of an email address is that I can check that it has been delivered. I will try to search for the asp now.
And, as you say, the original AC adapter would be much better all round.
    Thanks, Clare

  • Satellite P300-1AO - Can't enter my user profile - forgot password

    hi,
i havent used my toshiba Satellite P300-1AO for more than half a year since I am having a new laptop.
Now I need to grab some data from the satellite but I cant coz I forgot my user password.
And I am probably too dumb to reset is, because after inserting both an empty CD and after connecting a USB Stick the computer says that CD/ USB Stick cant be used for resetting the password. What am I doing wrong?
I need the data from that thing and the more I am waiting the more I am getting nuts...
    Can anybody please help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Timo

Timo if you can obtain 2,5 AluminumSATA HDD Enclosure connect HDD from your P300 to another PC as external device. On this way you will be able to have full access to all saved data.
After doing this put the HDD back and install original recovery image or Win7 32bit. It works perfectly on P300.

  • Satellite P300-156: Vista wont start after installation of Toshiba Tempo

    Hi
I have a new Satellite P300-156 which I have been using for about a month with no problems. It has been great.
This morning I had a message come up to install Toshiba Tempo which I did and all was fine until I restarted the laptop and now Vista wont start.
I have followed all the diagnostic tools, tried system restore etc... but still nothing.
I currently live in Italy, so is hard to take it into a computer repair shop as I dont speak Italian and the operating system is in english.
From what I can see my only option now is to do the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery, but I would loose some data which I have done since my last backup. Is there any way to backup data to a usb storage device using command promts before I do this, or is there a simpler way out of this?
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks
    Keith

    Hi
Thanks for getting back so soon, however, F8 does nothing when starting. I have an option of F2 or F12, but neither gives me options to access last known good configuration.
Is that the same as a system restore from the Vista system recovery options as I have tried this (gives you a list of last known configurations). But still no luck.
If I do the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery function do I need a disc for this?
    thanks

  • Satellite P300 - I need the part number of the original screen

    Please can anyone help?
I need to get Toshiba part number for the original screen in my Satellite P300-20H. My laptop fell of the bed and the only way I can use it is with an external display
all else is fine with the laptop but it would be a great help if I could get the part number for the original 17" WXGA+ TruBrite.
Please feel free to email any help you have: Email:[[email protected]]
    much thanks
    Welsh_Jam

    Hello
I think nobody here can anwer your question: Its only a user to user forum and you will not find any notebook technicians here they can tell you the part number of the screen.
If you want to know it you should contact an ASP. They can order all original Toshiba parts:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Find an authorized service provider

  • Satellite P300-150 - Need an AC adapter

    Hi,
I have lost my AC Adapter to my Satellite P300 150 Laptop, so need to know the volt and Amp of a replacement.

    Hi
The Satellite P300 150 seems to belong to the PSPC4E series and according to the Toshiba Options & Accessories page you could take these AC adaptors:
    AC Adapter 19V, 3.42A, 65W - PA3516E-1AC3
    AC Adapter 19V, 6.3A, 120W - PA3290E-3AC3
    Best regards

  • Satellite P300-13M won't start at all

    Hello everybody,
my Satellite P300 - 13M with product number PSPC4E won't start at all!
When I put down my screen, it automatically goes in hibernation mode. But the last time I did this was just too much apparently.. I've ejected my battery and put the adapter in to see if it would start. Negative. I've put the battery back and ejected the adapter. Negative. I've connected both the battery and adapter. Negative, no result at all.
Does this mean the end of my laptop?
Please help me as fast you guys can because this is my only working laptop.
    Many thanks
Ps if you want specifications, then i cannot give you them. I don't know the specs by heart.

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there but if there is no reaction at all Im afraid mainboard is death.
In my opinion repair is probably not the solution. New motherboard costs a lot of money. Either you can find used one, maybe refurbished and exchange it or sell notebook on eBay and buy new one.

  • Satellite P300 keeps restarting itself after initial start up screen.

My Satellite P300 keeps restarting itself after the initial start up screen.
The initial start up screen with the F2 & F12 options at the bottom appears, the screen then goes black, then a cursor appears in the top left hand corner and flashes a couple of times. Then the laptop shuts down and restarts itself and goes through the same process over and over.
This is all with the power adaptor plugged in. If unplugged, it will go through the above mentioned process and shut itself down with no restart.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

F8 is not listed in this meny, just F2 and F12 but F8 should help you to enter Advanced boot options .
Can you please give an answer to C3POs question?
Have you made some hardware upgrades in the past (RAM, HDD)?
    Have you changed anything?

  • Re: Satellite P300 - POST screen blank on booting up and very slow start up

    Hi,
I have a laptop Satellite P300. On booting up vista the microsoft logo comes up and then when the POST screen should be showing me what the bios is checking the screen is blank.
It remains blank for 5 to 10 mins then the pointer appears then it finally goes to the desktop.
I suspect the bios is hanging on something but I can't see cos the screen is blank. I suspect there is a setting somewhere. I can enter the bios but can't find anything in there.
Also regards to the extremely slow boot, I have disabled nearly all the start up programs but it has made no difference.
    Has anyone any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi
Everything runs slowly but finally the Windows OS boots up properly. Right?
Hmm. you can access the BIOS press F2 immediately after power button has been pressed.
This should allow you to access the BIOS. There you should press F9 to set the BIOS to default settings. Save the changes and reboot the unit again.
Additionally I would recommend checking the HDD. You could use a tool called Drive Fitness Test. This tool can be downloaded for free (google for that).
By the way; did you try to recover the notebook using recover disk?
Maybe you should try this but note; this would format the HDD so backup the date before starting recovery.

  • Satellite P300 starts not immediately

    Hello,
my Satellite P300 starts not immediately. I have to push the start button ca. 20 or 30 times.
    Any results?

    Hello
I have Satellite Pro P300 in front of me. I use it almost 4 weeks now and I press the start button very gently and keep it down for second or two and notebook start properly every time I want to start it.
Do not press the button quickly several times but gently and keep it down for second or two.

  • Bought an iPad. I put in wrong email as Id. I tried erase but can't get in to my account. I need to completely start over. All I see is instructions to change my password.

I'm trying to start over. Typed wrong id ( not my email). Now I have a new id but can't change my iCloud account. I need to just start over from scratch but it won't let me do so. When it sends verification it is sending it to a nonexistent email.

Sggest you setup as new and make sure you get the Apple ID correct. Use new Apple ID.

  • Re: Satellite P300-161 - Random Lock-ups/Freezing

    Hi all,
I've had my Toshiba Satellite P300-161 laptop for roughly about 6 months now. However, during the past month or so.. I've been experiencing random freezing of the whole laptop.
It usually just starts off at anytime.. then it'll have a break then start freezing again. When it freezes, it lasts for about 10-15 seconds and everything goes to "Not Responding". Even Ctrl + Alt + Del doesn't load up the task manager until after the freezing stops. However, I've discovered that when it's in its "freeze" mode, where the applications are not responding, I can give the laptop a gentle tap with my hand on the open space area to the right of the touchpad... and it unfreezes.... Surely this is a bad thing.
I plan to take this back to where I purchased it from and have it sent off to Toshiba to get it fixed as I have a 2 year warranty with them IF I can't get help from here.
    Much help needed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Benny Fung.

    Hi.
    Thanks for your reply.
Yeah, it's currently running on Vista SP1. I have reinstalled Vista _once_ for this laptop, perhaps I should reinstall it again before I take it back to John Lewis just to make sure...
I don't think it's overheating, as it can do it at anytime.. for instance, I could just be running Firefox and Messesnger and it still does it and with 3GB of RAM and 2.1Ghz, it should be able to perform simple tasks like that without overheating.
Hmm, What's this air spray cleaner thing you're talking about? How does it work?
    Thanks.

  • How can I get a recovery disk for Satellite P300-1CI?

    Hi everybody,
first, sorry for my english, I'm a belgian and I speak french.
Yesterday I bought a toshiba Satellite P300-1CI, when I started, I must installed Vista home.
I would like to format my disk and reinstall my old Windows XP.
My question is : How can keep an image disk with Vista? I don't have an installation disk of Vista and don't know my registration key of it.
How can I have a recovery disk ?
    Can you help me please.
PS : Sorry for my english

    Hi mate
User manual is really interesting document and in most cases it answer all you questions ;)
Anyway, the Toshiba recovery disk should be created before you would format and install on the HDD.
You have to use the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator application in order to create the Recovery DVD.
    Now to you other question;
The Vista image which is preinstalled and placed on the Recovery disk (after recovery disk has been created) is activated already and you dont need to insert any keys or activate anything.

    Hello Jay
I agree with Akuma. All you can do is to remove preinstalled VAP from the system and install latest version again. Why you didnt follow instruction to restart notebook after VAP installation?
I have installed VAP several times on my Satellite P200 and Satellite A300 without any problems but after latest version installation I have restarted notebook immediately. The installations procedure was finished and needed processes started in the background. I presume this is the problem on your Satellite P300.
If nothing helps the last step is to install OS again using recovery installations DVD. After doing this you will have clean preinstalled OS and everything will work well again.
