Need PDF Reader that can 'import" folders

I have a BUNCH of PDF files (as well as some other types, but I"m mostly concerned with the PDFs) that are organized in folders on my Mac. I'd like to be able to read them without any network access, but I'd also like to be able to drag all the folders...so when I use them, they are categorized. I tried PDF Viewer Lite, which does exactly what I'm looking for, but I can't drag in a folder. Only individual files.
THanks!

Dropbox is not a pdf reader per se, but a free application that creates a folder on each of your computers, then keeps the documents/folders you put in your dropbox in sync across your computers, iphone, and the web. The iphone app allows you to view documents (including pdfs) in your dropbox, and even email someone else a link to download it.

  • PDF that Can Import PDFs from iBooks?

Hi. Is there a good third-party PDF reader than can will read from iBooks PDF that'll work with iPhone 3G? Most PDF readers need a Mac to transfer the PDF to it's iOS app.
    Thank you.
    God bless.

Thanks for the very prompt answer!  That seems like it sort of does what I want - however, once I leave the course, I want to have the system continue to work - and future Admins probably wont have access to Acrobat Pro, or the technical knowledge to send out looking for responses.  Nor is there a sharepoint (or equivalent drive) to set.  Perhaps some further explanation is required.
There are multiple classes going on at one time, and each class gets a folder on a standalone machine, with a different Admin in charge of each class.  When one graduates, another one fills in behind them a week or so afterwards.  So what I need is a "template" file for student data, and a template "Master list" that pulls from all of the student data PDFs in that folder, locally, without the Master list having to send out requests for information.  That way, when a new class starts, the students can email in their student data, the Admin can pop them all in a folder with a blank Master List template, and when the admin opens the Master list, it populates with all the data from the student sheets.
Hopefully that is a little clearer, and hopefully doable!  It really needs to be pretty darn simple.  We used to do it in Excel, and gave each student a tab where we copy/pasted their basic data - and a crosslinked sheet pulled it into the master list.  Alas, that looked unprofessional and sometimes was very troublesome when the students altered the Excel form in any way or put things in the wrong cells.
    Thanks!

  • Can I make a PDF form that can be filled/saved in Illustrator/InDesign without Acrobat Pro?

Can I make a PDF form that can be filled out and (more importantly saved) in Illustrator or InDesign without having to use Adobe Acrobat Pro?
I only have Adobe Reader XI. Do I need to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro in order to make a PDF form that can be filled out and saved by others? or is it possible to do this solely through Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Adobe Reader?

InDesign can export to a filable form, assuming you add the fields in InDesign (6/CC) and export as an interactive PDF. You can't create a form with Reader or Illustrator. You also can't Reader-enable with anything other than Acrobat, so Reader users will have to use version 11 in order to save a filled-in form.

  • Need adobe product that can be signed

If I need a buildable PDF form that can be filled out and "signed", what adobe product do I use?  Even the included "Sign" feature of the free Reader would work for me.  But that is disabled for FormCentral PDFs.  So what do you suggest?
    Thank you,
    Patti

Formscentral does not support forms signing at this time. You may want to look at our echosign product to see if it meets your needs. https://www.echosign.adobe.com

  • Is there a PDF Viewer that can swipe between pages?

I'm a working musician and I had high hopes for the iPad that I might be able to have music Pdf charts that I could read on gigs.
For this to really work, I need to have a PDF App that can use the hand swipe method of moving between pages.I tried the PDF Reader Pro app and for reading Pdf's, it is fine, but it has only a tiny arrow touch-link that scrolls the page and It's impossible to go for that while I'm playing on a gig.
Am I guilty of purely wishful thinking here, or would an app like this violate Apple's protections against moving cross-platform, since it would have to access Apple's touch sensitive technology?
    Thanks for any tips,
    Frank Bright

I thought I'd reply on this since I've since had time to really try Good Reader out as a music chart reading program. It seems to have all the ingredients for reading music charts well, but for me it does NOT fly, not when really using it while you're playing an instrument.
The organization is all very well done and good - pages are well defined and separated. But trying to turn pages with ANY consistency while playing an instrument - in my case, piano - is IMPOSSIBLE.
Note: when one tries this out just sitting in a chair, it performs flawlessly. You may wonder "What was he talking about? This is easy!" And I've tried all methods -tapping the corners, the bottom middle tap, and the full swipe method. It all comes down to this:
Executing the tap or swipe successfully requires a certain deliberateness or focus in your finger touch - a focus that is easy enough to summon when you're doing nothing else. But this focus, at least to me, is simply not accessible when I'm playing the piano and reaching in quick desperation to make sure the page gets turned in time. It's just not there for me anyways, and I predict that some might be able to do it, but I doubt even those few will feel any consistency in the results.
I have since discovered the Music Reader App and am currently trying that one. The App is free, but to work with charts and convert them on your computer requires that you purchase a program.
Thanks - and I hope this helps someone,....Frank

  • PDF application that can copy and paste

Hi, is there a PDF reader that I can use to read iBooks and then be able to copy and paste certain sections? I have PDF reader pro but it does not have the copy/paste feature and I'm not able to find anything else suitable. Please can you advise?
    Thank you.

I have GoodReader on my iPad. It's a great app but unfortunately will not let you copy a PDF page in its original format - you have to use the Text Reflow option, which extracts text from the page and then copy the entire page.
I too am looking for an App that will allow me to copy the actual page but so far have not been able to find one. If anyone knows of such an app, please do let us know...

  • Is there a format for at PDF form that can be filled out, saved locally and edited continually afterwards?

    hello
on the html-based form http://www.samtaleterapi.com/oversigter/psykoterapi.html there isnt the functionality i want
it can only be filled out and printed
what i want is a form that can be filled out, saved locally on people's own computers, and  and that the local copy can be edited and saved anew continually
    can PDF do this?
can the end users edit and save the form with no other program than adobe reader?
if so, is this a specific format of PDF?
and if so, how do i create it?
    thanks
    rasmus

You can indeed create a PDF form that can be opened, filled out and saved by users of Adobe Reader. It simply requires one of the later versions of Adobe Acrobat. It has a function to enable this ability in PDF's.
The one down side is that there are usage limits (how many times form data can be collected) that you would want to familiarize yourself with in advance to be sure you don't violate the EULA. Exactly how thos limitations work are up to interpretation...

    Hello friend,
you can solve your problem with a netflow technology.NetFlow exports packets
with information about your data flows going throught your routers or switches.
(Usually src/dst IP address, src/dst ports, protocols, src/dst interfaces, num
of bytes, num of packets). In the analyzator software you can see exactly what
you need. See: http://www.cisco.com/go/netflow for more information about netflow.
NetFlow is NOT supported on all devices, but almost devices support it. The list of
supported devices can be found on the: http://support.caligare.com/kb/entry/42/
Our company is developing netflow analyzer (it is the second part of netflow analysis).
So if you want to know more, contact me at any time. Of course, you can use any other
netflow analyzers, there are many tool available .... free/commercial... the list of applications:

Please, rate if I helped you.

  • Publish service that can import more than comments back to LR?

    Hi
Is there a pulish service that can import things like ratings, keywords, flags etc. (i.e. other than comments) back to LR? I am looking for such a plugin, since I would like to publish a collection to a service, and then use my iPad (or allow anyone else) to tag/rate etc. my photos and then import the new data back to LR for later processing. Ideally I would like to do this with flags (like pick and reject) and ratings and keywords
    Henrik

iPhoto syncs to Facebook (and Flickr, MobileMe). So, make a change on one place it changes the other.
You want an uploader, not a sync, so forget about using iPhoto for the job - it's just not the tool you want for the job.
    Regards

  • Is there a digital business card reader that can feed iContacts?

Is there a digital business card reader that can load contact information into iContacts?
If yes, what is it?  If no, is there a way to load contact information into Outlook for Mac and then export it to iContacts?

1, people tend to recommend powered readers, as obviously they have their own power source and won't rely on what they're connected to. I have an old Belkin (model F5U240) that still works, but I don't think that it's made anymore (it's a CF only reader)
2, we are just fellow users here, and none of us know what Canon might, or might not, be planning. On the basis that the power was reduced in iOS 4, my opinion is that it's doubtful (though I'm not always right ). You can try leaving feedback : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • I am running Firefox 6. I need a plugin that can read PDFs

I used to have Adobe PDF Plugin for Firefox. I used to be able to open and read pdf files that I found on the web. I can still do so sometimes. The pdf files that I can not open are labeled "(in PDF * format)" from the Wells Fargo online site. The only way I can open these files is by using Safari. Is there plugin I can get which will allow me to open these?

After some poking around, I came up with a solution that worked for me! (And yes, I had the exact same problem with the Wells Fargo online statements using Firefox 6.0, as well as a few other sites). In the "Add-ons" manager ("Tools" / "Add Ons") choose "Extensions". If you see a PDF Download (mine was version 3.0.0.2) click disable next to it. Restart Firefox. Cross your fingers! It worked for me!

  • Can I create a PDF document that can be commented on by others using READER

I have dozens (hundreds?) of PDF Books that I've purchased. Whoever created them made them so anyone using Adobe Reader 5 or better can make highlights and comments on the text.  I use the feature to correct typos and send them back to the publisher. I know it can be done because I've been doing it for a few years before I ever got Adobe Standard.
So . . . My question is . . . How can I create documents like this that can be commented on using Adobe Reader? I have Adobe Standard 8 and I don't see this as a separate feature of Adobe Pro. and I'm hoping that I'm just missing the instructions on how it's done. I do not have any problem doing what I want using Adobe Standard 8 but I need to be able to make it doable in Reader so others can make comments in my documents.
Thanks for taking the time . . .

"Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" or "Extend Features in Adobe Reader"
are available with Acrobat 8 Professional / 3D version 8 or Acrobat Professional / Pro Extended respectively.
Additionally, Adobe provides a server based service (LiveCycle ES) that "enables/extends" a PDF such that Adobe Reader can  be used for Comment, Review, Digital Signature, etc.
That you can use Adobe Reader to comment on PDFs means one of the above applications were used.
Because you have mentioned the PDFs are purchased PDF Books I suspect that LiveCycle ES was used.
This server based application (which has a myriad of "modules" available) is expensive so, typically, it is licensed by enterprises that need its functionality. Examples: the large publishing houses or governmental agencies (e.g., IRS).
If you move up to Acrobat Professional you will be able to "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" such that others can perform Comment & Review on your PDF documents.
As Acrobat 9.x is the current, marketed release the Professional version would be available to you via an upgrade (not to be confused with the free "updates").
    Be well...

  • How can I edit a pdf file that was imported?

I want to edit a pdf/jpeg file that I imported/placed in AI?  Can that be done?

    Steven,
Illy just sees a bunch of pixels as do the rest of us.
You may use Image/Live Trace with suitable settings, expand, and let her work with the resulting vector artwork.
Or you may draw a (set of path(s) round the part(s) you want to keep (turning htem into a compound path in case of multiple paths, then select everything and Object>Clipping Mask>Make. That will only hide the outlying parts (unless you do the destructive deed), and you only have limited ways of (further) editing.
Or you may work in Photoshop or similar.
