Need phone to get 4G SIM?

I'm sure this has been answered, but I can't find it:
I have a 4G phone on the way from a private party; my current phone is a 3G Incredible 2. I understand that the new phone will need a 4G SIM, and that I can get one for free from a corporate store (vs an authorized retailer who's likely to charge). And I understand that doing so won't affect my rate, data plan, or contract. Correct?
The question is -- do I need to bring the actual new phone or its information in to get the SIM, or will they just link it to the account and give it to me without the new phone? If possible, I'll pick one up today or on my way home tomorrow, before the phone is delivered.
I also assume that even once I have the 4G SIM, until I actually activate the new phone, my old 3G phone will still be live, correct?

If you happen to have another sim card with you, can we try to use that sim card and see if the phone will send.
Or your sim card on another phone.
-This is to identify for sure is the issue with the phone or sim..
-If you cant send using another phone then get you sim changed or check with your operator.
-If you are able to send on another phone then you may wanna try resetting your phone by following these steps:
- A restore by keying in *#7780# when on standby - This will not delete any data but will restore all the settings back to default.
If that does not help then you may wanna try doing a soft reset by keying in *#7370# when on standby - This will reformat the phone. DO NOT FORGET TO DO A BACK UP AS THIS WILL ERASE YOUR ENTIRE PHONE MEMORY.
The security code by default is 12345
If this fails as well then you may try doing the Hard reset by performing the 3 finger reset. You can do this by switching the phone on with the '3', '*' and green 'call' buttons pressed at the same time.

For the iPad, iMac you need to create verifyible e-mail addresses created with one of the providers such as Yahoo, Gmail,etc. For the iphone you should use it's phone number, but an e-mail could be used for it too. If you want to associate these e-mail addresses with a single ID, I'm including a link to give you info about how you can do that. Read it carefully, as it can be a bit confusing.

Have you tried removing and replacing the SIM? If that doesn't work, try a new SIM from Verizon, they will usually swap them out for you for free. If those don't work, you might need to get the phone checked out, it may have a bad SIM port.

How do i get my sim to work with this phone?

If your iPhone was unlocked and has relocked after an update to iOS, then the iPhone was hacked to unlock it and has now been locked back to the original carrier. You'll need to contact the carrier to whom the iPhone is locked and request unlocking. They may refuse to do so since you're not the person with whom they had the contract.

You do a restore as new to wipe the iPhone then at the end of restore you will be asked to restore from backup. Choose your iPhone backup.
Note you cannot restore an IOS newer than the IOS on iPhone, you need to update iPhone first.

The phone MUST have a SIM present in order for activation to complete. The process will not finish otherwise.
For the OP:
If the iPhone 5 is locked to a carrier, you must use a SIM from that same carrier. Otherwise I think you would be OK borrowing the SIM to activate the phone.

If you are not from the US, then you can't purchase a phone from the US Apple store website because there is no international shipping available.

Does it have a SIM card in it? You get the SIM card from your cellular carrier. Did you update the phone or restore it since it worked last? Where are you and what carrier are you on? Where did you get the phone?
It sounds like the phone may be carrier locked and was previously hacked to work on a different carrier. If it was re-set, it would cause the phone to re-lock to the original carrier.

The same problem here!... My itunes stucks on "preparing to sync" when sync my ipad 2, and stucks on iphone 4 calendar sync...
