Need pinout for connector of RIO Evaluation KIT

Hi Everyone
Does anyone know the pinout of th connectors in this board the ones on the left upper corner and thank you very much

Hi Ghassen14,
The RIO Evaluation Kit uses a sbRIO 9636:

The manual for the sbRIO 9636 includes information about the pinouts of the sbRIO. The manual can be found at the link above or directly at the link below:

  • What's the maximum digital I/O frequency for the NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit ?

    Hi!
I'm trying to analyze some sort of sine signal at the frequency of about 3 MHz. Because the analysis should be very precise and fast (about 10 samples per period), I'm needing the maximum digital I/O frequency of the NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit.
    Regards,
    Erik

    Dracyon,
Can you please clarify a couple of things: you say you are trying to acquire a sine wave that has a frequency of 3 MHz, but you are asking for the maximum DIO frequency. I believe what you need to know is the maximum analog sampling frequency. For the sbRIO-9636 (part of the evaluation kit), the maximum aggregate sampling frequency is 200 kS/s at 16 bits of resolution. At 10 samples per period, you could sample a ~20k analog signal. If you are actually looking for maximum DIO frequency, this is a bit more complicated. We have a good whitepaper explaining this.

  • Less voltag in J502/DIO sbRIO 9636 (NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit )

    Hello,
I bought the NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit (with sbRIO9636). I have problem with the sbRIO9636. The voltag in J502,DIO Pin 49 and 50 is less than 5V (just 1.7V). so VCC of the LabVIEW RIO Evaluation board with a digital encoder, LCD screen, function generation, etc. can't get the enough voltag (5V) und can't work.
For example >VCC of LCD screen is just 1.7 V and not to work. So this is a Hardware problem? Can man solve the problem?
    Thank you!!

    Hi Duffy and KellyDog,
+5V should be available on the pins and connector that Duffy is referencing.
    KellyDog,
Couple of questions.  Is anything connected to the sbRIO-9636 in addition to the power cable?  Does the unit boot and connect to your host PC over ethernet?  If the +5V power supply was damaged and only supplying ~1.7V, I wouldn't expect the board to boot, as all the onboard power supplies are derived from that rail.  Has anything happened to the board that would cause you to suspect power supply damage?  There is a fuse on the +5V pins, so is it possible that the 5V supply pins were accidentally shorted to ground, potentially damaging the fuse?  If so, this board would need to be returned for repair (RMA) as the fuses are not user servicable.

  • NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit

I bought the NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit and i need the datasheet as soon as possible, please help. Thanks

This is a user supported forum, what you are asking for would best be handled through the formal National Instruments channels. If you can, contact your local National Instruments office for help. What are you looking for exactly, can it not be downloaded from the NI site? Usually all of that type of info is available online.

  • NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit online gain tuning.

    Hi,
I am interested in using the    NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Kit    for the implementation of a PID controller. I want to know if it is possible to tune the PID gains of the controller implemented on this kit without halting the realtime operation?    So for instance if the controller is controlling the speed of a DC motor, can I tune the PID gains from LabView without having to stop the kit?
    Umar.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Umar,
Are you asking about the Auto Tuning feature or just plain tuning the PID manually? Either way, you should be able to tune your PID without stopping the kit.

  • Student version and Evaluation Kit

Hallo .. I have a student version of Labview 2013, because of my study .. - and I borrowed a Evaluation Kit hardware from my work..
Can I connect them together, or do I need to have the software installed for the evaluation kit also ?
    BR Mathias Them / Denmark

You need to be more specific. Are you talking about the RIO evaluation kit? (there are several others!)
If so, you also need e.g. the RT and FPGA software. You can find the 2013 execrcises and additional information here.

  • What is the pinout for the 6602 relative to the 'D' connector.

I am developing a custom board to connect with the PCI-6602 Counter/Timer card.  I will use the SH68-68-D1 Shielded Cable, 68-pins, 2 m to connect from the 6602 to the custom board.  What I need to know is what is the pinout relative to the 'D' connector.  The manual shows the connector as a rectangle.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
The routing from the PCI-6602 through the SH68-68-D1 is one-to-one, so I believe that all you should need is the pinout for the 6602.  This is shown below.
This information can be found in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) by right-clicking on the device and selecting "Device Pinouts".
I hope this is what you needed.  Post back if you have further questions.

  • I have a 7th generation nano, and am interested in the Nike   Ipod sport kit.  However, it looks like the kit only works with older nanos with the 30 pin connector.  What kit or what accessory do I need to utilize the Nike   ipod sport kit fuctionality?

I have a 7th generation nano, and am interested in the Nike + Ipod sport kit.  However, it looks like the kit has a 30 pin connector on the receiver and the 7th gen nano is a lightning connector.  Not sure if the kit will work.  What kit or what accessories do I need to utilize the Nike + ipod sport kit fuctionality in the 7th gen nano?  Do I just need a separate sensor and/or a heart rate monitor? Or is there a kit available for 7th gen nanos?

    Hey SeanW89,
Thanks for the question. The iPod nano 7th generation has bluetooth functionality that can connect to the Nike+ sensor. You do not need to purchase the USB kit, but rather just the sensor itself:
Nike + iPod Sensor - Apple Store (U.S.)

iPod nano (7th generation): Frequently used features
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5470
    Connect to Bluetooth accessories
You can connect your iPod nano to compatible Bluetooth headsets and other accessories, including some hands-free systems in newer cars. You can also connect to a Nike+ sensor or a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor. iPod nano supports A2DP for audio streaming and AVRCP for controlling playback on Bluetooth devices.
Note: FM radio will not play through a Bluetooth accessory.
    Thanks,

Hi i am just after getting my hands on an sb Rio and the labview evaluation kit.
the question i have it when i start on the tutorial it instructs you to open various vi's and it goes through some basic functions .
This is where the problems start for me, within the vi's are sub vi's, and i cant seem to find these on my hard drive any where.
Has any one else had this problem? any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install all the required drivers?

  • FPGA - RIO Evaluation Board - Using the LCD Display

I have the NI LabVIEW RIO Evaluation Board and am trying to find information on using the LCD display. Does anyone know of any documentation/app notes? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the suggestions ramses64.
I failed to mention that I didn't install the software that came with the evaluation kit. The reason being, I already have LabVIEW and all the modules installed. I was not about to overwrite my perfectly good installation even if the instructions on the box tell me it is perfectly safe to do so.
If there are examples with the kit, then they are buried in an installer/cab file and not directly accessible by simply looking at the CD/DVD contents. I should install the evaluation software onto a virtual machine and see what is revealed.
I'll take a look at the LCD Module this evening and see if it provides any clues.
    Thanks!
