Need receiver for heart rate?

I bought a Polar Heart rate monitor Nike + from apple store beleiving that it was directly linked...quote: "It delivers heart rate information directly to the Nike+ system through your 5th- or 6th-generation iPod nano or other compatible Nike+ devices."...then when I got it, I went thru many sites and it is still not clear...until I saw a video that showed that you also needed the Nike + Sport kit with receiver for it to work...is that true?
Why not sell the receiver on the apple web site stating: "You also need this little thing for your strap to work..."
Thanks

Page 22 of http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Nike_Plus_iPod_User_Guide.pdf says:
Note: You must have the iPod + Nike receiver attached to your iPod nano (6th generation) to use a heart rate monitor or remote.

  • How do you input/upload the templates for Heart Rates, EKG, etc. onto an already existing form of LabView?

I have LabView 9.0 and I remember last year when I got it I had to go through several steps in order to upload the templates for Heart Rate, EKG, and Blood Pressure.  However, since then, several of my computers have been worked on within the district and the templates are no longer on the main page anymore and I have forgotten the steps to completete to get them back.  Can anyone help me??!!

What main page are you referring to? Are you referring to the Getting Started window that has the "VI from Template..." link that pulls up a dialog to select the type of file to create? That has a tree node that you can navigate and there's a VI -> From Template -> User node. If you place the template in the <labview>/templates folder then they will show up in this node.

  • Slow running data for heart rate variability VI Please help my thesis is due in 3days!! :(

Hi there i'm having a great issue with a VI i have created to detect heart rate variabilty from ECG and PPG signals and seeing which one is most accurate with regards to HRV.
I initially recorded 25 minutes worth of data and saved this into a text file. which has 2 columns the 1st being PPG data the 2nd ECG. There are at least 1000000 rows of data
I am now running this data into a VI which should give me results such a RMSDD PNN50, poincare plots and histograms etc  the trouble i'm having is the VI is initially starts of fast then becomes incredibly slow i left it running for over 10hours and it hardly read any data
and me not being such a big labview expert knows how to fix this. I would be most grateful if somone could help me find my error as my thesis is due in 3 days and i'm stuck on this last part. I have attached my VI below . please please help me!

First question: does the code produce the correct result, just slowly?
So you have a million data points and process them one point at a time in a FOR loop, updating several xy graphs and charts and building arrays. Most indicators will get overwritten with each iteration.
You are heavily filtering the data (twice!) and take the derivative (twice=second derivative). You are doing a pt-by-pt peak finding on 50 points with every new point added, meaning that you mostly analyze the same data (differing by only one point with each iteration. Seems inefficient. Wouldn't you detect most peaks 50x?
Since your data is filtered, maybe it would be sufficient to decimate the data before the loop processing. How correlated are adjacent points?
Have you analyzed which part of the code is slowest? What is the current execution time ("slow" is subjective) and what speed would you like to have instead?
Things like the histogram only needs to be done exactly once at the end. It seems pointless to do it over and over, a million times in a row even if the data did not change. Same problem for all the graphs.
You seems to take the difference between adjacent points in the generated array. Again you are repeating the same calculation over and over. Wouldn't it be much more effiicent to keep the array of pairwise differences in the shift register and use a scalar shift register to retain the immediately previous point. Subtract the new point from the previous and add it to the array instead.

  • Need to get the heart rate in run keeper without bying expense additional hardware

    Hi,
I am using runkeeper to track my activities.
Till now, there is no compatible bluetooth device that can work directly with the iPhone in order to get the heart rate, this is very dispapointing.
Any project in progress on this point?

archman-cro wrote:Just a wild guess here: Try putting "resume=" in menu.lst as "by-uuid" like you have with the root partition.
Nope, that didn't help. now the dmesg related lines appear as:
    TuxOnIce 3.2-rc1 (http://tuxonice.net)
TuxOnIce: Can't translate "/dev/disk/by-uuid/4564e7cd-aa5b-4b41-a7b5-20db4069bf1b" into a device id yet.
Also, that 6GB swap partition you got is a pure waste or resources. You need 3GB of swap max, and that is only if you want to store all your cache when you hibernate. If not, you don't even need a swap. If you're a normal user (means, you're not using some resource heavy apps, like those for editing HD vids or similar).
Sadly I realized that quite late Can't do a thing about it now.

  • How do I count and display events every few seconds and then convert the counted values into events per minute? (for a heart rate monitor)

    Hi everyone,
I'm building a heart rate monitor as a final year project with my lab partner using the NI USB-6009 and Labview 2009. We have managed to obtain a signal using a photo transciever, smooth it out and count the events, however the count is incremental.
We wish to count the number of pulses we obtain for a few seconds (5-10 for example) and then use this value to obtain a pulse rate in beats per minute (e.g. 10 pulses in the first 10 seconds would give an estimated BPM of 60 etc etc).
Does anybody have ides on how we could implement this? We have tried timed loops, elapsed time VI's and other things but nothing gives us what we need.
Thanks in advance for any help that is offered.
    Jeshua Graham.

We are very new to Labview. We are taking a raw signal from our DAQ and then using VIs to filter and then trigger counts on rising edges. I have attached our vi file to this post for you to look at (I hope that is what you mean by code).

  • I need help regarding measurement of "time domain parameters of Heart rate variability" using labview.

I need help regarding measurement of "time domain parameters of Heart rate variability" using labview.
I am using Labview 8 ... I  need to develop a software to accquire the ECG data (simulated enironment ) and compute the time domain parameters of Heart rate variability like "SDNN, SDANN...etc". Can some 1 plllzzzz help me out.Plzz help me if u can.Thanx in advance.

    Hi Andy,
Thanx for responding.  The input is from a text file. SDNN, SDANN,etc are  the timedomain parameters of heart rate variability.
SDNN: the standard deviation of the NN or RR interval  i.e. the square root of variance.
SDANN:the standard deviation of the averageNN interval calculated over short periods, usually 5 min, which is an estimate of the changes in heart rate due tocycles longer than 5 min
SDNN index, the meanof the 5-min standard deviation of the NN intervalcalculated over 24 h,
RMSSD: the square root ofthe mean squared differences of successive NN intervals
NN50: the number of interval differences of successiveNN intervals greater than 50 ms, and
pNN50 the proportionderived by dividing NN50 by the total numberof NN intervals.
The problem is dat I am a fresher to the world of Labview. I have jus recently started working on it. Can u please suggest me some some idea as soon as possible.
As i said  I have the ECG data in the form of text files..I need to create sort of GUI to calculate the time domain parmeters....I need help urgently. Plzzz help me if u can. If u have and .vi example to calculate the RR interval plzz send it to me ASAP.
    Thanku

  • I need to digitalize an already captured analog heart rate profile

I am trying to find a simple solution to digitalize heart rate profile printouts.
I have numerous graphs containing heart rate variability over time and need to digitalize these to statistical purposes.
Does Labview or any other NI software have this capabilty?

Playing around with your digitizer setup can help a lot.
I suggest a simple scanner if it can be done on a letter sized  (A4) paper for a first try.
You can download the vision tool for a 30 days try out,  can save a lot of time
But like with every tool: Your faster and get better results if you know how to use it.
I'm afraid  the printouts have different style so you might have to choose different strategies or setups to get good result.
However the best idea is to call your local NI support. Look if there is a trade show or other NI event near by and take a memory stick or CD with some scans. These people seems to love ad hook challenges

  • Heart Rate Monitor Recommendations for iPhone 4S and/or iPod 3G?

I've recently started using the Nike+ app and sensor for tracking my walking/treadmill activity.  Unfortunately, it does not work on an elliptical machine, but it's still a lot of fun and I'm doing something good for myself in the process.
The next step is to track my heart rate during exercises, which requires a heart rate monitor (strap) that communicates back to an iPhone app.  I think I've exhausted the possibilities of getting any heart rate monitor to communicate back to the Nike+ app, unless I'm willing to purchase a brand new Nano and cut my music catalog down by a tenth, so that isn't happening.  So I'm looking at a heart rate monitor that will communicate with a widely used, reliable and/or low cost iPhone 4S app, preferably one that can work at the same time as the Nike+ app that is stock, resident and free on the iPhone and which I use and will continue to use while walking with the Nike+ sensor that gets attached to my shoelaces.
The next step is the heart rate monitor itself (strap).  Lots and lots of choices out there but all roads lead toward Wahoo Fitness and their combination ANT+ plug into the base of the iPhone, and the heart rate monitor strap.  Looks like I can get them both on Amazon for about $60, which is a lot cheaper than I saw elsewhere.  Very expensive line of products.  And lots of "hopefullys" - hopefully, it won't drain my battery down on moderate to long walks; hopefully, I can run their app and the Nike+ app at the same time without interfering with one another (they do have a stride sensor but that's just more money that I've already spent on the Nike+ sensor which works fine); and hopefully, the stock strap will fit a 52" - 54" chest (I'm a big guy, they offer no data, they have no contact number, I'd have a drop them a support email and just wait for a response, company reputation for customer service is not good).
So am I looking at the best choice for my needs, or has anyone else recently purchased a similar system for measuring heart rate, stride and/or any other critical components of their exercise routine?  I am up for suggestions and not making any purchases so fast.
Last but not least, my current Nike+ app and sensor also work with my old iPod 3G running iOS5, I'm hoping that whatever I wind up with will work on that setup as well.
    Thank you.

Thank you very much for the response.  I actually purchased and have already returned a Polar heart rate monitor strap and a Nike+ Sportsband.  I could not even get them to work, and the strap was very small on me (I've got a 54" chest).  All roads lead towards Wahoo, but customer support is ABYSMAL.  You basically have to email them a question and wait for a response back, they have no chat or phone.  Ridiculous.  Anyway, my questions to them are pretty basic, maybe you can answer:
1.) The strap that you recommend works only with the 4S, which is fine, but I also have an iPod 3G that I'd like to use as well.  Some of their other straps are compatible with both.
2.) There's no measurement on the Polar strap that I just returned, so I have no way of comparing the fit on one or more of these Wahoo straps versus the Polar one.  I know that I just need a big one (XXL or better).  How is the fit on the one that you have?
3.) The whole reason why I initially went the Polar/Nike+ route was to go with the least complicated setup to get real time data on stride, distance, calories, etc. PLUS heart rate.  All on pretty much two screens (iPhone and Sportband), and with the idea that I could still multitask during a workout (i.e. check email, send a text, toggle between any open apps, etc.).  All of my research so far indicates that a Wahoo setup is going to have problems with this.  First, the rumor is that no app using a Wahoo heart monitor strap is going to allow you to exit that app and still take active readings (again, this would not have been a problem with the Sportband, but I couldn't get it to work).  Then even if that works, I don't know if the chosen Wahoo app will be able to measure heart rate while Nike+ and a shoe sensor are still measuring stride, distance, etc. (i.e. will they interfere with one another?  Will I be forced to purchase the Wahoo stride sensor too, and then it gets back to which apps work with the stride sensor, will they allow multitasking, etc.?)
It would be SO much easier for me if these Wahoo folks had a PHONE and could answer my questions.  To make purchases, try things out, return them, etc. that's crazy.  Waiting a day or two for presales questions in this day and age is unacceptable, but that's where I'm at.  I'd appreciate your continued input on this.
Btw, there is a third option beyond Polar/Nike+ and Wahoo, and that's Garmin, but the app reviews were horrible.  Wahoo was the cheapest overall, I just need to know that it's going to work and serve my needs before making the purchase.
    Thanks.

I feel the process what you had narrated itself is wrong.
It seems some zee table is developed wherein, the users should maintain data related to some concession forms which I feel should be applicable to domestic sales.
Apart from the above, for exports, I dont know why you were generating proforma copying billing type JEX.  You were supposed to copy F5 (order related proforma) or F8 (delivery related proforma).
Since in your case, you have indicated that you have generated against a delivery, you should copy F8 billing type and maintain copy control accordingly in VTFL.
Last but not least, the message number also seems to be not a standard one.
    thanks

  • I need the correct driver for an infrared remote control (ENE CIR receiver) for Pavilion DV4-2173nr

I need the correct driver for an infrared remote control (ENE CIR receiver) for Pavilion DV4-2173nr.
The receiver that came with my notebook is a black model one (see picture below), with the following information in its bottom label:
    RC1762302/00

I never managed to make it work, from the very beginning. I know it is working, because I replaced the battery for a brand new one and it shows a blinking IR LED when I press any button and point it to a digital camera.
Searching for "ENE CIR receiver driver" is useless 'cause I received more than one hundred answers - I tried four of them but none worked so far.
So, instead of trying the whole bunch, I am crying for help -  could someone please tell me which driver is the correct one for this remote model?

    Vardesh,

    Hi Jagadeeswari,
If you need to check Workflow Trace check Transaction SWU9. This displays all the WOrkflow started on a particular time period we specify. Check Program RSWTTR01 and also table SWT_LOGCAT which could help you. The transaction i have specified displays all the Workflow that has been executed and whether it is been a success or a failure.
              Hope this would help you.

Hello to everybody, I am struggling in finding information about the compability between Ipod nano 7g and Polar Wearlink+ Nike+ Heart rate receiver without using any additional receiver.
Documentation posted on Apple, Nike and Polar websites only mention ipod nano 6g.
Could you please shed some on this?
    Many thanks.

If it is compatible with Nike + it will work with the 7th Generation Nano.

You need to activate it through itunes and then complete the *228, option 1 if you want.

  • Nike+, Polar and Nano 6th Gen - Heart rate zone?

Can someone tell me if the heart rate zone feature will provide audible alerts when I reach my target heartrate?  Additionally does it tell you if you go above or below the range?  If not, is there a known way of doing with with a Nano or IPhone?
I'd like to ideally know I am maintaining my ideal heartrate while running, and I'm hoping this feature does this for me.  I'm trying to find out before I spend the money on the special Polar heartrate strap.
*Also, I notice you need the Nike+ receiver in the Nano, but supposedly not the sensor.  Will I still collect all my workout data in addition to the heartrate info with the sensor on the sneaker? (I know the 6th gen Nano has the built in accelerometer, I just wasn't sure if using the receiver makes the Nano think it needs the sensor too)
    Thanks!!

I had the same problem. Nothing but a complete reset fixed it. After that, no problems.
Take the battery out of the HR monitor for a 30 sec or so to reset it. Then do a wipe and reset of your Nano - back it up, reset to factory defaults, then re-sync. The HR montor shoul dbe discoverabel. Also, make sure your Nano firmware is up to date.
