Hi, This is the Adobe Flash Player Uninstall link:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
This is the Adobe Troubleshooting Guide which you may want also to review. I would suggest using the Manual Installers which you can download and SAVE to your Desktop. Pay attention to any apps using Flash, you may need to Disable any Anti-Virus. Be sure to use the Administrator Account and check Settings. Be sure to Reboot after running the Uninstaller and also after Installing.

  • Need Help for Muvo TX FM 512

Cannot get player to play music from files on my computer. All it will do is turn on, go through the creative logo and turn off. Not on for more than 2-3seconds to
    ps.
These files are from cd's of mine that I saved onto my hard dri've. The cd's are older so I doubt very much that they are write protected. I also have files that I downloaded from Wal-Mart.com. All are in the WMA format. Tech support told me there must have been a corrupt file somewhere and to update my firmware. I updated Firmware .23.03. I have formatted the player. Still does not work. I can play FM, and I can add files all day long..but they won't play. At most, it will scroll the name of the song along the bottom of the screen as if playing, but there is a black square next to the minute counter (meaning stop?!?). Press play/pause...nothing, again?...nothing. I have updated the firmware again....nothing. I have not called tech support back, yet. I was hoping to find some answers on the forums. Can anyone help?

To transfer files from a CD... I place the cd in tray, close it, open Creative MediaSource Organizer and rip the CD...now what are my settings? I have it set on WMA Stereo, DRM enabled, 28 Kb
    ps.
Rip the tracks I want to my PC Music Library. Insert my mp3 player (hard calling it that as it yet has to play a track of anything), and set the Muvo TX FM as the destination source and transfer files. After transfer, close all windows, open My Computer, open Dri've F and there are my tracks...yeah, but wait. I safely remove hardware, and insert it into player and attempt to turn it on...3 seconds later...denied. SIGH. Okay, reinsert player, open Di've F...ohh surprise..not formatted. Click on my exe. with latest driver (see original post), reinstall original driver again. Reformat again using FAT not FAT32 per tech support. Safely remove hardware. Insert into player, turn on...yeah turns on, no music, but can access FM..okay so not a TOTAL waste of $$$. Reinsert into computer, open my computer, dri've F, empty file. It's recognized and formatted. OPen Creative MediaSource Organizer...transfer files..no error messages..repeat....repeat...repeat. Same result. Should I try FAT32? Should I try to rip a cd w/o using DRM enabled? Does the LCD screen need to come on when in usb port? I have not tried to rip CD's using WMP0 yet as CMsO came with the player. Is it better?Message Edited by drewj28 on 09--2006 09:38 PM

  • How to repair disc on second partition iMac 27? 10.6.8, but second is still 10.6.3.  Can I use the original 10.6.3 install disc to start, and then go to the side needing repair?

Partitioned iMac 27, Sept. 2010.  Verify disc on HD2 says "corrupted,  needs repair," unspecified.  "Use install disc to repair."  HD2 is isolated from Internet since birth.  HD 10.6.8, but HD2 is still 10.6.3.  Can I use the original 10.6.3 install disc to start, and then go to the side needing repair, without a problem?
Part 2:  After 4 years, suddenly when HD2 is revived from sleep, it makes an Internet connection, all settings are the same, Network shows Ethernet is unplugged, but the indicator from modem shows connection.  Maybe connected to first part of my question, but maybe not.
    Thank you.

Have you seen this type of problem before? I think it could be a serious issue for anyone in a similar position.
No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.
    •  I don't suppose there is anything I can do to 'put back' lost items from a separate Time Machine drive which has an up to date backup on it.
There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.
On the other hand, if the Time Machine volume is rigidly linked to the now-absent OS on the original drive, there may be no way to effectively access the files in the TM archive.
I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive?

  • HT4848 will i lose my files if i repair with the HD recovery disc?

I did the disc Utility and got the msg that the Macintosh Hd is corrupt and needs repaired and to insert Recovery Disc and Reboot.
    I now have Os x Lion 10.7.5
my processor is 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
running mem is 4 GB 1067 Mhz Ram
    i went to
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433
and put the recovery disk assistant on a 32 gb flash drive
most of my files are backed up, but i just need to know to prepare myself, is this going to replace/delete my files. Will it be back to factory setting?

Repairing your disk with Disk Utility does not erase any files. Neither does reinstalling OS X if it comes to that. However, if your disk is corrupt as you indicate, some files may already have been deleted or will become deleted if Disk Utility determines they are corrupt.

  • HD needs repairing but optical drive NOT reading discs.

My problem is this: I have a June 2010 21.5" iMac which is out of warranty.   Disk utility says my HD needs repairing.  No problem, I have the original install DVD.   Trouble is my DVD drive has suddenly stopped reading discs! I rand Apple tech support for help and I asked them if I could simply buy a usb external DVD drive and re-install that way? Since I will also have to reinstall from DVD; Logic and Pro-Tools.   He said no!   Consequently I'm booked in for repair next week at an Apple store.
Is that a way of Apple making money and I CAN actually repair the HD via an external usb hard drive??  Did he convince me to take it to an Apple store so they gain cash from me that way?
Do I take it in for repair?  The Apple Tech Support guy gave me no clue as to how much this is going to cost.
Or don't take for repair and buy an external usb DVD drive?
I struggle with computers at the best of times!
    Any help greatly appreciated.

I've used ancient Compaq "Multi-bay" external drives and a variety of other random-vendor external USB drives with Apple laptops and Apple servers, and they've worked.  In several cases, I was using the old Compaq drives because the integrated DVD drivers were dusty or had failed — DVD drives of all sorts can and do fail, Apple, third-party and otherwise — and the Compaq drives were handy.  That Compaq Multi-bay drive booted an Apple Xserve Intel box with a bad slot-loader, too.
If one drive fails, debugging suggests trying a different drive.
If you don't want to be concerned about compatibility, order one of those (not cheap) Apple external DVD drives.  I now have a couple of those around, and they work.
It's quite true that newer Apple laptops don't have DVD drives, though most of these systems offer a recovery partition on the disk, the ability to create external recovery partitions on the device of your choice, newer ones have Internet-based recovery if you're lacking a drive (booting from Apple's servers via the Internet), and the Mac boxes I've tried will boot from various random USB devices including the old other-vendor DVD drives, and from the Apple external DVD drives.  With another Mac with a compatible wiring connection (Thunderbolt and cable on newer Mac systems, and FireWire and cable with a pair of older Mac systems), Target Disk Mode (TDM) can be used.  The installations can also be copied to other hard disks, and it's also possible to network-boot most any Mac system, if you have a server around.  And there's also the remote disk installations that some Mac systems can offer.   Put another way, there are various and good alternatives to device-integrated DVD drives.
DVD is an old and mechanical technology, and it's variously a flaky one.  Given a choice, I'd rather boot OS X off an external hard disk or solid state or flash device or via TDM, just because it's faster and more compact.  This because I'd rather not carry around the weight and volume of that DVD drive all the time, on the off chance I might sometime eventually need to recover.  But an external random DVD device does work, too.
As was mentioned else-thread, there is no special chip required in the drives.  Given the command set and status-level differences from drive to drive I've seen and given the failure rates I've witnessed with DVD and CD drives from all vendors including Apple, I wouldn't expect every drive to work, but I've seen nothing that Apple does here that would prevents a random drive from working.  And I've used random drives...

  • Internal Disc Needs Repair - Archiving TC?

The hard drive on my Time Capsule suddenly stopped working and where no longer visible or accessible, with the message “internal drive needs repair”. I googled the internet, called the apple service provider and more. They said that to go to a data extractor wouldcost me S$ 600-700, more than my Time Capsule cost me in the first place, on google they said you could open the Time Capsule and access the hard drive there, but I’m no computer wizard and would probably just mess things up(and mess up the warranty as well).
I read something about archive, but I am not sure if I have understood how it works completely. Can I archive the files on my disk(the filesis a bit over 1 TB) to an external drive, get a new Time Capsule(covered by thewarranty) and then just upload all my files, and it would be as nothing happend? Is it that easy? Would the archived files downloaded to my external hard drive be accessible files(usable from the external drive)? Or just one file that needs to be transferred back to the new Time Capsule? It is not the settings, nor the back up of the Mac that is important, but years of pictures taken on travels, documents from school etc.
I am afraid that if I "select archive to transfer the data from my Time Capsule to and AirPort disc connected via USB" I might not get the result i had hoped for(the full access to my files as they used to appare on my old TC) and by the time I get my new Time Capsule(and deliver my old broken one to Apple) it would be to late if this do not work.
Hope anyone can help me! What is the best, easiest and cheapest way to get my files back?
Thank you all for your help

    Hard to tell, yet.
It's not clear whether there's a problem with the drive, or if the backups on it are corrupted.  Try repairing them, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.  The results of that should tell us something.
If the internal HD really has failed or is failing, you probably can't "archive" it, per the green box in #Q6 of Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.
If the backups are corrupted beyond repair, the best you can hope for is to copy them "as is."  But it's quite likely the copy will be even worse than the original.

  • Time Capsule internal disc needs repair

Have erased my Time Capsule version 7.6.4 and it now has a flashing yellow light , says Internal disc needs repair

It depends .. read the bottom .. first line of the rubber molding.. A1302 it is Gen2.
    A1355 it is Gen3.
They use very different drives.. the Gen2 often have issues with WD black which could be dead but it can also be the power supply.
Gen 3 use 1TB samsung, 2TB WD green and the power supply is usually ok.
If you can access it in the Airport Utility do a full low level format.
Choose the one pass erase. Called Zero Out Data.
If this doesn't work or is not available you can have other issues.. replace the power supply if gen2 or replace the disk if gen3.
    See http://embeddedideation.com/2014/03/dissecting-the-airport-express/
Pull out the drive and test it in a USB to sata holder.. if it works ok then power supply is bad. That is common on gen2.
But the WD black are also pretty poor after 5years.. you really have had full and fruitful life out of it.

    One stage at a time!
    1. Can't empty trash:

    2. Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.

An article on troubleshooting Permissions can be found here:

By the way, you can ignore any messages about SUID or ACL file permissions, as explained here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?
If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

Mac OS X has a built-in disk diagnostic and repair program called fsck or file system consistency check. Here’s how to verify and repair your startup disk with fsck.  As soon as you hear the startup tone, press and hold Command-S on the keyboard. Keep holding down those keys until you see a black screen with white lettering. This is called “booting into Single User Mode.”  As the Mac boots in this mode, the screen reports each step of the process. The line should end in root#.  Right after the root# prompt, enter the following: /sbin/fsck -fy
If repairing the disk in single user mode fails, it means one of two things. Either your hard drive itself is failing (a hardware failure), or the directory damage on your hard drive is beyond the capability of the built-in repair procedures in OS X.
