It is easier to downgrade a stronger video card to lesser LCD like you're proposing than trying to upgrade weaker cards to better panels.
Nothing is certain in Lenovo land and there are numerous instances of undocumented features like systems that can accept more RAM than you'd believe.
A good reference for your model is the ITWbook and HMM but just glancing through ITW it seems all the x200s have the Intel GMA4500 video card and if the same card equips the entire line, your question may be easily answered for downgrade clearance.
The HMM (2nd link serves as the reference for assembly / disassembly)
Personally, I'd skip the swap and just buy a used x200 to replace or provide what I need, the prices have declined and marginally more expensive than a used LCD and I hate replacing LCD's in any fashion.

Replacement LCD for Curve 8530

A few days ago I cracked the LCD on my 8530 Curve, and I've already disassembled it and have the LCD removed from the phone and from the thin metal casing that surrounds it, but I'm finding as I search online that there are a few different LCD models for the 8530, and I want to make sure I order the corect one, but can't seem to find any information anywhere to lead me to the correct purchase. The only numbers visible on the front of the LCD are I209 on the bottom left and LMS246GF01 on the right. Both numbers are engraved in the LCD's metal frame. On the back is the number HB100222IM6 (the last digit may be a G, it's hard to tell).
Can someone tell me, based on that information, which model LCD of the 004/005, 001/004, etc, I should be buying?

I don't know that model. Does it have a separate removable screen over the LCD? If so, and the LCD screen itself is undamaged, you might find one that will fit on eBay. Otherwise, I think it may be prohibitively expensive to replace.

The eBay "knockoff" batteries all come from similar sources. They are made in sweatshops in the Far East. Generally, they are good batteries perfectly adequate for older laptops that don't leave the desk very much. What is the worst that happens if it is bad at $15? The better ones have a 3 year warranty as does the seller you ask about, but hardly anyone ever makes a claim because it is easier to just buy another one at that price than to pay return shipping. If you look at all the eBay auctions you will notice that all the pictures and text are very similar. In other words, there seems to be a "Chinese laptop battery" consortium of some sort out there. I do buy these frequently when the situation calls for it and very, very rarely have a problem. I look for the best consistent feedback and a high score. I say go for it.

My hard drive on my MacBook Pro is crapping out on me and refuses to let me make a full bootable backup so I can replace the disk. Problem is that I've foolishly managed to lose my physical disks for Creative Suite CS3 Design Standard so I can't do a reinstall. Can anyone on the forum help? Thanks in advance.

WE love Macs is a joke. 650 new and 550 refurbished. Plus their phone people are dumb as ____. These prices I assume are = to what the "genius" bar would charge. I love those geniuses last time I talked to them they tried to argue that os x could not read nor write to ntfs disks. OBviously they cannot write to them ( I'm sure there is software out there that makes it possible, but not natively) I was speaking to a supervisor to!!!
Anyways I digress, the second option seems interesting what did they charge you? Any surprises?
