Need Replacement . . .

I am needing a new cord that hooks my 'iPod mini' into my computer. I have broken my head phones before and got new once but, I cannot find the form to get a new cord. Can someone help me? p.s. and its to late to call the support lines either...argh I wish they were 24 hours.

How is the cord broken? I'm not sure Apple will replace the cord if the damage was caused by you. If it just malfunctioned of its own accord and you're still within 1 year of purchase then go here for service:
http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Otherwise you can purchase a new one here for $19:

  • Apple says "logic board needs replaced" because MBP won't turn on w/o SMC reset but I think I can fix it; can you help?

    Hello,
Less than a year after purchasing a brand new, early-2011 Macbook Pro (still covered under Extended Apple Care) and, sadly, only a week or two after finally upgrading to 8GB RAM, I returned to my notebook after taking a shower and watched it suddenly shut itself down. It has not been responsive to the power button since then (although, see below.. I think I can fix it).
Genius Bar took one look at the visible moisture sensor you can see underneath where the RAM sits and declared it water-damaged. While I agree that either a short and/or corrosion is causing my MBP to malfunction, I don't believe it should void my warranty because the problem isn't that I spilled something on it.1
I hope someone can give me some insight into fixing this myself. Apple says "the Logic Board needs replaced" (a common CS response, I've noticed) the water damage voids my Extended Care + that it'll be at least $1200 and several weeks. Here's the situation:
MBP will not turn on just by pressing the power button. However, MBP consistently (every time) powers up when I do an SMC reset.
I have it in verbose mode and it begins booting. But, it will invariably turn off without warning anywhere between 30 seconds and 8-10 minutes after powering up.

I have it in verbose mode and it begins booting. But, it will invariably turn off without warning anywhere between 30 seconds and 5 minutes of powering up.
Eighty percent of the time, it turns off during the pre-Xorg boot. However, I have also seen it fully boot, I log in, I'm able to peruse logfiles/etc. Safe Mode (holding shift) crashes early. Single-user mode makes no difference. PRAM/NVRAM/etc makes no difference. I can boot to the Recovery Partition but it turns off just the same (disk utility scan takes too long).
I haven't been able to really test the Internet Recovery because the hotel wireless takes too long. I did boot into Hardware Test and it passed the basic and extended tests (although it seemed to just be testing the RAM integrity.
I can boot from the optical drive with a FreeBSD 9 livecd and an Ubuntu 11.04 livecd. Of note is that the laptop shuts off consistently when FreeBSD begins the journaling services for the ZFS filesystem (every time).
Here is where this leads me to believe I'm at (I am not dogmatic here and would appreciate any corrections or insight):
It seems like there may be corrosive damage on the logic board but maybe it's isolated given the various consistencies in what's happening. It seems like whenever SATA is use, I lose power. When SATA isn't really used (the HW Test), the laptop has literally stayed on for days and days.
I want to get in there and clean up any corrosion with 91% isopropyl alcohol (9% distilled, non-conductive water).
I want to use a bootable OSX livecd with an "emergency console" so I can, basically, use boot options to step throught the boot process and see if I can isolate the problem.
Here is what I'm uncertain about and could use guidance:
Does any of this sound remotely reasonable to anyone who has been through this or am I delusional?
Any tips on identifying and cleaning any corrosion?
While I had made a bootable version of Lion via Disk Utility and a rescue disk with some third-party app, they are MIA and I don't have another Mac at the moment. Do I have any other options? Again, an install dvd is not exactly what I want -- more like a rescue dvd. I had read about some Apple Stores giving/copying bootable USB thumb drives like this to customers. But, I noticed that this is now on sale there for $80. I would use this like once and, ideally, could use my MBP to make more. $80 seems a bit much.
I should be able to step through the boot process in a way like what's possible with FreeBSD, no?
Anyone have any other specific troubleshooting tips?
I really, reallly need my MBP back as soon as possible. I'd really appreciate any wisdom and insight! Thank you,
    -ryan
To be totally honest, about 3 weeks prior I spilled some milk from cereal on the desk and a little bit got onto the battery. However, the notebook worked fine for the following weeks. I believe that the problems have been caused by ambient humidity ... I've been staying in a hotel that steams up the entire room when I take a shower. The windows are covered in water droplets so why wouldnt the MBP be affected? As noted, these problems began after I lingered in a hot shower.

    I don't think you have a case.
You can replace the logic board yourself if you are a DIY'er and save some money.

  • HT3669 With recent upgrade to my Mac I can no longer get supply report on ink status in my printer-light is blinking and unable to tell which cartridge needs replacing?

With the recent upgrade to my computer I can no longer get Supply reports from my printer:  a red light is flashing and I don't know which ink cartridge needs replacing?

I happen to have an Epson printer as well - WorkForce 645 - that does show the supply levels.
Since I have one, I know that Apple recently updated the Epson printer software (less than two weeks ago).  Do you have the latest software?  If not, you can get it through the App Store or here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
Try it if you don't currently have it.  If you're not sure, you can download it - it can't hurt.

  • My 24" iMac (2007/2008) display is "going yellow"...what needs replacing?

Everything else is working fine. There appears to be "wave of yellow" in the display and limited brightness...
I do a lot of graphics work, and this is distracting...
How do I get it back to  a nice, clean crisp white display? What needs replacing? Video card?
    Thanks for any help/direction,
    Sunny

Yes, I tried doing all those normal things.
If someone was not used to this computer they might not have noticed although it certainly does not "pop"
I noticed it being dingy as soon as I turned it on and I also have another 24" next to it. There is a big difference.
I suspect the seller was getting rid of a leon.

  • Have a message on startup," low internal battery". Need replacement and instructions on replacing

HP Pavilion dv7-1127d, Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition.  Message on start up "low battery, internal".  Need replacement part identifcation and replacement instructions.

Sounds like your iCloud backup isn't happening.
Check Settings / icloud / storage & backup.  See if you have enough available storage.  If you don't, you will need to purchase additional storage (First 5GB is free), or alter your backup settings to free up space.  Camera Roll is the biggest offender.

  • What exactly do I even need replaced!?

I bought a 32gb iphone 4 (and 8gb 3g) today for $60. The screen on the iphone 4 is cracked but the person I bought it from said that it did work. I was worried when I plugged it into my computer and itunes wouldn't find it but after charging it with a wall charger for awhile, it appears that it was just extremely dead. However the screen still did not power on but at least I know the phone does work once it was charged enough. After looking at the phone I noticed that it had definitley been taken apart previously but I'm not sure how far apart so I don't know if the person just didn't put it back together right or broke something. I live in a small town so the closest iphone repair place is about 2 hours away. I was looking into the werx screen replacement thing where you send it in but at this point I'm not sure what I need replaced. Any ideas? Suggestions on where to get it fixed?

All you need is your MacBook Pro, it comes with wireless capability.
There is no need to purchase a base station to access an existing wireless network.
You may wish to get an Airport Express if the hotel has only a WIRED network and you wish to be wireless, but this is not necessary of the hotel has a WIRELESS network.

ASk your friend who unlock the phone for him/her.
ONly the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.
bAse on your description, it sounds like your friend had his/her phone hacked to unlock it from the original carrier.

  • I bought my iphone 5s in USA  and now i have come back to my country, India. My iPhone 5s battery needs replacement what should I do?

    Hello!
My iPhone 5s battery needs replacement and I am not sure where to buy it from. I bought the phone when I was in USA but mow I am in my home country India and I am confused how to find an Apple Store in India so that I can get my phone repaired or battery replaced by them.
    Waiting for suggestions.

The Warranty on phones is not international.  You will need to send the phone to someone in the US to start the replacement process (or repair), and when they receive the replacement (repaired device), they will need to send it back to you.

  • Is there any way to save data(pictures and videos) on a iPhone 3GS with no backup and the battery needs replaced?

I have an iPhone 3GS, the battery is dead and needs replaced. Is there any way to have the battery replaced and save all the photos and videos that are very important of family and friends that are irreplaceable on it? There has been no back up done on the phone that I know of. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have to think you have tried operating the iPhone with the charging cable plugged into a charger and outlet or USB.  It is likely you have tried this and it failed to operate.  Have you tried a Reset on the iPhone to see if that will cause the battery to function ling enough to do an iCloud backup or iTunes backup?

  • Factory faulty HDD needs replacement and hence new OS.

My HP Probook 4545s was shipped with an HDD fault, the system would not book and hence go into the black and white diagnostics screen, the after it failed HDD tests it would say no operating system found etc. I went to my local HP reps and they said the HDD needed replacing and I would have to install a new OS. With the HDD replaced, I would have to install a new OS, however, I was given an OS CD (one for w7 and one for w8, the pc was displayed as w8, but came as w7) on purchase, but it did not come with a CD Key. I do not want to have the activate windows prompt coming onto my screen ever so often, so I was wondering if I could somehow source a CD Key for my OS CD. The normal answer would be to buy a new genuine copy, however, this was not my fault as it was, as stated, a faulty HDD.
    This question was solved.

No-the info is in BIOS, not on the old hdd.

  • IPad Mini Retina Screen needs replacing

I recently dropped and damaged the screen of my iPad Mini Retina and it does need replacing. The iPad is out of warranty.
Can anyone tell me how much Apple will cost to replace the Mini Retina Screen (I live in the UK) Perhaps I'm not reaching the right websites but I've come across poster saying that it can cost £200 plus to have Apple fix a screen, is this correct?  Third Party firms appear to be doing the same job for much less, but I do appreciate that by going that route Apple will wash their hands of any future faults.
On their support website Apple have this to say. 'What does it cost? Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPad model and your AppleCare product coverage. Accidental damage isn’t covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty. '
I live in a small town quite a bit away from an official Apple outlet can anyone advise me if Apple licence thrid parties to do repairs, there is a wel established iPhone shop in my town and they do repairs but would these be 'official' repairs?
I'm sure some members have had cracked screens over the years, what did you do? Let Apple do the fix or go independant?
As always many thanks for your advice
    Kevin

This is the US page about Apple's repair policy for iPad screens: https://www.apple.com/support/ipad/repair/screen-damage/
If you choose to have anyone other than Apple work on the iPad, any and all support for the iPad by Apple won't be available to you anymore.
For what it's worth, I had an independent company (really just one guy running a shop) repair my iPad's cracked screen. The screen was damaged a few months after I'd purchased the iPad, and I paid around $100 for the work.
It's just about 3 years old now and the only issue I had was that the front camera didn't work after the screen was replaced. I brought the iPad back and he double-checked his work and got the camera functioning again. I haven't had any other issues.
If you're willing to take the risk of it being damaged and are OK with paying for a replacement device outright if something goes wrong after the repair, you may as well go with the third-party.
If you'd like the extra insurance (if you will) of Apple's support being available to you, then pay the ~$200 for them to do the work.

  • RAID ALERT: (0x0008/3) - Battery needs replacement - SOH Bad

I've installed a new C350 recently. After a few days, I receive a warning message from IronPort (RAID ALERT: (0x0008/3) - Battery needs replacement - SOH Bad). What does it mean? Is it a hardware failure?

This indicates that the RAID battery is fully discharged and cannot be charged. Essentially, a bad RAID battery. I would recommend getting in touch with Ironport support to get the appropriate RMA initiated.

The touch pad on my Mac book Pro is very sensitive and causes changes without hardly touching it. Can this be changed or does it need replacement?

    Touchpads are just that, touchpads.
You touch it and something happens unfortunately, you can't rest your fingers on it while your waiting to do something else or it triggers a response.
You either have to train yourself to remove your fingers and keep them suspended, causing wrist, arm and hand pain, or plug in a standard mouse where nothing happens until you press the button, like years of ergonomic experience has shown is a much superior method.
Touchpads are likely less expensive to produce and breakdown less often under warranty, so just like less expensive to produce glossy screens, it's a cost cutting measure they were  incorporated into our devices and required users to adapt to sweeps, gestures and other useless actions for little benefit.
I've owned my Early 2011 MacBook Pro for a year now and have only used the trackpad once, the mushy keyboard perhaps only a couple of dozen times. Preferring external devices where I can rest my digits and nothing happens until I apply pressure or use a scroll wheel.
Needless to say my keyboard area is in brand new condiiton, remains covered from the original packaging, protects against dirt and spills too.
Mac's keyboard and trackpad area tend to wear out pretty fast, like in about 3 years, making one consider getting a new machine long before it physically fails.
