Need script to export Indesign to word and keep word index codes

Hi,
I have a document and the index was created by importing word docs with indexentries. Now the client wants to revise the book and wants the text converted back to Word, but he wants to keep the orginal word index codes. Is that possible? Exporting as tagged text results in showing the index codes, but also much other codes which are not needed.
Would be greatfuull for some tips, or preferable a script that does the trick.

What were you going to do with this Tagged Text file? That's only good for re-importing it back into InDesign.
Anyway, it doesn't require a script at all. I had the clever idea of testing this, and indeed: index entries in InDesign are exported in RTF.

Need script for exporting images to EPS

I need to write a script to export a whole bunch of files from Indesign CS3 to EPS files. Right now we do them one at a time...here are the steps we take that we would need included in the script...
Select all (Control A), ungroup, convert to outlines (control-shift O), export (need to be able to say black or white or RGB) and then close the file without saving.
and if there was anyway to loop this script for 20 files at a time that would be really helpful.
Can any help or direct me to a website that can help.

Need help. Exporting pdf to Word or cretaing live fields in doc

I need to take a 180pg doc and save it as a word doc or manage to turn all the necessary areas into live fields. I've tried going to export > word document or File > export to anything really and I keep getting this error message
Adobe was unabl;e to make this document accessible becuase of the following error:
Bad PDF; could not read page structure. Bad PDF; error in processing fonts cannot find CMap resource file> [3]
I received this document form a client overseas. I can't get them to resend another copy.
Anyway's I can get around this error? I'm desperate I have 9 other docs with the same amount of page to make live

Sounds that you want to make the PDF files live and then edit them in Word? Why not directly edit them in Adobe Acrobat? It can help directly edit PDF, the conversion is unnecessary. And if you really want to export PDF to Word but the acrobat can help you little, you would try free PDF to Word Converter, which may help you for the conversion. However, I am not sure you would do that work well. Because I am a little confused about the problem you described. Just have a try and it may helps.

I tried to do as you said. Its creating spool request and status to completed (sm37 instead of sm36 bcoz i don't hv authorization in production server). Now I didn't see any errors in job log. But data coming to ztable is as usual ( all are ZEROS).

I found that my job with completed status but with in job log i found error of type I means that the error is with notfound type in exceptions.

How do I import an index into Indesign for epub and keep the links live?

What is the best way to import a subject index (the indexer uses skyindex, and has an option to output index links to indesign para numbers), but he currently provides a word file for import into Indesign 5.5 with dead page numbers. We need to retain that for print publishing, but change the index numbers for epub, to links in both directions. Whats the best way to tackle this? I hope someone out there has done this!

Page numbers do not exist in epub.

How to export video to quicktime and keep it looking good?

Hi,
I am just wondering, what is the best codec and what are the best export settings to use to take DVCpro50 footage to something that looks good for web/browser viewing? is it recommended to use the animation codec at 100%?, and then via quicktime export to something like mp4?
When I try to export from FCP to mp4 (h.264), I get "codec error".. Which always makes me just export to dv ntsc, and then from quicktime I convert to mp4.. However, when going to DV NTSC, the picture immediately becomes blurry and fuzzy..
Would love to know how is the best way to do this.

Not sure why you are getting a codec error...
Try this method first...
File - Export - Quicktime Conversion... then when the window comes up change the default (or Recent Settings) to BROADBAND HIGH... then, click OPTIONS and change the size to something you want... if you choose 480x270 it will be widescreen 480x320 will be 4:3.
This will give you great clarity at about 3megs a minute.

Hello all! I have no experience with AppleScript, but I heard it should be possible to write a script which helps to copy/export a iPhoto album structure into an according directory structure. Does anybody already have such a script?

I have created an AppleScript along with the TextCommands OSAX that duplicates all of the albums in iPhoto to a folder called "Albums" on the desktop. It is quite slow because of the need to open an Info window in Finder to get the path to the original photo but gets the job done.
If you wish it could be modified to provide an ability to select individual albums for duplication. Let me know if you are interested in the latter. I am also seeing whether the album structure can be created directly in a burn folder so that CDs/DVDs can be rapidly burned.

Exporting RAW to jpeg and keeping the develop changes?

Hi. I have my RAW files and catalogs safely backed up on external drives. Now I want to export some files to DVD's. I want these to be hi res jpegs with all the develop changes I made to them in LR, in case I ever want to go back and work on them again. I've done some tests and when I look at these exported photos in LR I see the photo as it was when I finished developing it but with none of my develop settings. How can I do this? Thanks

I understand the need for redundant raw files and catalogs, that's why I have 3 copies on various drives at home. I'm looking for off site storage (and I hate monthly fees to store them in the cloud) so I thought I'd put them on DVDs and store them at work. These are copies I hope I never have to use but if I do I'd like the originals and all my edits. I was hoping to use jpegs to save a little space.
JimHess says I can't do it and 99jon I tried your method but I must be doing something wrong because it didn't work. If you all tell me I should just use my OS to copy the original RAW files and the catalog to DVD (that how I backup to internal and external drives now), I'll do that, I was just looking for a way to do it in LR.

JTable Moving Columns and keeping the index for re-display

I have a JTable with data. The data in the table is refreshed every two minutes. The user is allowed to move the columns around, but when the refresh happens, the columns go back to their original layout. I have a TableColumnModelListener attached to the table and I know that there is a columnMoved method and I can capture the the "toIndex" but where do I set this new index in the model?

The TableColumnModel controls the ordering of the the Table columns.
When you use the setModel(...) method the fireTableStructureDataChanged() event is fired. This causes the TableColumnModel to be recreated. However you can turn this off, assuming the structure of the TableModel is the same, and only the data has changed. After creating the table the first time you can use:
table.setAutoCreateColumnsFromModel( false );

Although it's a better bet with a 2330 than a 2349, I'd try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
