Need Shutdown Patch - X-Fi Titanium

#I just installed X-Fi Titanium Pro on my dual boot XP/Win 7 machine.
I need the patch or fix to resolve the shutdown lag issue.
Using driver 2.7.0007.
Tried using driver 2.8.003 but that would not detect my hardware (tried installing the fix that would supposedly resolve the Windows 7 hardware detection issue but that didn't work either.. this also didn't work in XP).
The 2.7.0007 driver actually seems to function so would like to just use that plus whatever fix is available for the shutdown issue.
Thanks.
UPDATE - Well, no shutdown issues with driver 2.7.0007 in my XP partition.
I just don't have any sound at all.
This is awesome.

UPDATE IV - WTF
Ok, well by unstalling and reinstalling the driver for my Logitech G35 headset it SEEMED to solve the shutdown issue in my XP partition.
I can get successful shutdowns if my headset is plugged in but ONLY if it is plugged in. Otherwise, it is waiting on G35 to shut down.
This did not happen before I installed the X-Fi Soundblaster Pro Titanium sound card FYI - was able to shut down XP or Win7 partition with no problems whatsoever regardless of whether G35 headset was plugged in.
This is getting weirder.
I am going to try and disable the G35 program on startup in msconfig - it shouldn't need it unless I actually plug in my headset which isn't all the time.

Your system is missing a couple DLLs that LR needs, but the fix at Adobe is to copy them to the LR folder which gets replaced for each install, so you have to redo it after each LR install.  It would be worth documenting the process and saving the DLLs so you don’t have to ask about it each time:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html
You might also use the AIO210 program to add them as detailed in this YouTube video—maybe this is a more permanent fix, but since the files are from media-fire be very careful about what you do so as not to install a virus on your computer.
I’d scan the downloaded ZIP you download with whatever virus and internet security software you have and don’t be fooled by extraneous popups you might see during the download process.  I was able to download the aio210.zip after authorizing one Captcha window and closed at least one bogus popup trying to get me to install other software.  I also scanned the downloaded zip with two virus scanners and both said it was clean.  Here is the YouTube video, where the link to the ZIP to download is in the description once you expand it:

in addition to checking windowsudpate.log (usually found at c:\windows), you should also check the ConfigMgr client logs (usually found at c:\windows\ccm\logs, or, c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs)

You would think that Oracle should put a better release (for RHEL 3) at least one that is installable!
But maybe you also should ask: is it ok to redistribute these patches? Is it ok to access these files without a support contract? (I don't have the details available but I'd guess that there are restrictions...)

  • I need to patch 9.3.1 to 9.3.3 - I can not find the list of patches ?

    Hi,
I need to patch my hyperion 9.3.1 to 9.3.3, so that I can keep it ready to use much awaited 11.1.2 migration wizard.
can you please let me know any doc/Url/pdf etc which tells me the patch numbers tobe applied for upgrading to 9.3.3 from 9.3.1
Any help in this direction will be very helpful.
    thanks,
    Ankit

    thats correct..thanks.
Is there a sequence to be followed to do this?
If I have the following products installed on 9.3.1:
    1. HSS
    2.Essbase server
    3.EAS.
    4.Planning
    6. EIS
    7.DIM
what sequence should be followed? - I understand HSS would be the firstone to go
what services should be up or down when doing a particular component, as this wld be product by product patching?
can this information be obtained from somewhere?
    thanks,

  • Do I need a patch set?

I am working to install OAM 10.1.4.0.1 to accomplish an IIS SSO integration. I have installed the 10.1.4.0.1 Idendity Server and WebPass on a windows install of OID. Looks like I now need to install Policy Manager and Access Server as well. Finally I will be able to install and configure the IIS WebGate to get SSO functionality. It is my impression I need the 10.1.4.2.0 patch set for this to all work. I am looking at the download page and see the "Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g (10.1.4.2.0)" and the "Oracle Virtual Directory 10.1.4.2 Patchset". I do not see an OIS 10.1.4.2 patchset. Can someone please provide some guidance on this.
    Thanks,
    John

IIS SSO will work on OAM 10.1.4.0.1.
10.1.4.2.0. is a full patch set that you can apply to all components. Many folks are running 10.1.4.0.1 in production today.
You don't need to touch OVD or OAAM based on your stated goal.

  • I need the patch #2376472 from Metalink - Can anyone tell me  how 2 get it

Please note I have a CSI # which I was told has expired. I need to obtain this patch and am disparately trying to obtain it with little success thus far
You would think Oracle would let third party support people download and distribute as is such a patch but Oracle does not allow such distribution.
Can anyone one advise me on the best means to obtain this patch - Getting a cheap metalink account would probably be my best bet but Oracle makes getting such an account very hard to do. You would think this would not be such a huge problem but it is !

I believe in general the cheapest Metalink access is to purchase a copy of Personal Oracle with a support contract.
From a legal standpoint, though, I would tend to question why you are downloading a patch for a product whose support contract has expired. If you have a product that needs patching and an expired CSI, that would imply to me that you purchased a product and an initial support contract, then let the support contract expire. If that's the case, you'd no longer be eligible for patch updates. You'd need to talk to your Oracle Sales rep to figure out how to bring the support agreement current.

  • 10.2.0.3 on solaris 9, need mandatory patch 5252399 or not?

We are going to install oracle 10.2.0.3 on a Solaris 9 box. According to Note 406472.1, Mandatory Patch 5752399 is needed for 10.2.0.3 on Solaris 64-bit and Filesystems Managed By Veritas or Solstice Disk Suite software. Our system is not on SAN, only local disks, so I'm sure we don't use veritas file system. But I'm not sure if we still use Solstice Disk Suite software. Sun said that in Solaris 9, Solstice Disk Suite is renamed to Solaris volume manager and it is bundled in Solaris 9. Does this mean Solaris 9 is using Solstice Disk Suite by default and we have to apply patch 5752399?
How can I verify which file manager we are using? (Our sys adm is not quite sure).
If we apply the patch no matter we really need it or not, what impact to the system?
    Please advise. Thanks!

10.2.0.3 on solaris 9(Sparc 64 bit), patch 5257399 needed or not?

    Moderator Advice:
    Welcome to the OTN forums.
This is your very first post to the forums, so before you go any further, a piece of advice:
When you give your post a title of "Hi All" it does not tell anyone anything about what your inquiry might be.
The topic title that you place onto each one of your posts is just as important as what you place into your post. It tells everyone whether they need to spend any time with it. It tells everyone whether you are worth spending time with, whether you will be able to understand what they type in a reply, how technical they can be in a response.
These are technical forums. They are not chat rooms for casual feel-good gatherings. They are not `blogs`. The site is also NOT a way to make contact to Oracle's technical support staff. The OTN community is from the entire globe and is from end-users that happen to have an interest in the topics you read here.
Spend some time reading the forum FAQ,
    https://wikis.oracle.com/display/Forums/Forums+FAQ
which is linked at the top corner of every page.
Also, spend some time with the forums Terms Of Use
    http://www.oracle.com/us/legal/terms/index.html
which is linked at the bottom of every page.
In particular, spend some time reviewing section #6 in that T.O.U.
When you make your posts more informative and easier to read then responses will be more helpful.
... now go back and edit your post. Change the title to something that better describes your actual question.

  • Need help patching a kernel to use new ALSA

I have a friend who's just starting out with Arch, and I've been getting him started on his install. His system uses a Biostar 6100-939 motherboard and an Athlon64 processor.
Everything has been working so far except sound. According to documentation, the correct ALSA driver for his nForce4 chipset should be the snd_intel8x0 module. However, loading this module didn't make any soundcards available to alsamixer.
We started to investigate the problem, and recently found this: http://jrbelvin.freeshell.org/weblog/linux/mcp51-alsa stating that the problem is fixed with the 1.0.11rc3 release of ALSA. We also found this : http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=60493 covering the same issue. We tried applying the patch listed in that forum to a build of the ArchCK kernel. While we were able to confirm that our patch really did patch the kernel, and that the patched kernel built, the snd_intel8x0 module still didn't work when we loaded our patched kernel.
So now it seems like we'll have to properly use the 1.0.11rc3 release of ALSA to get sound working on his computer until 1.0.11 is finalized and merged into the kernel. Does anyone have any experience on patching a kernel to use a different release of ALSA? Any help would be appreciated.
    Woogie

I had the same problem with my new computer (less than a week old) using an ASRock K8NF4G-SATA2 board. For me the problem stopped when I switched to the 2.6.16 kernel then in testing but now in current. If it's not working with that kernel try modprobing snd-intel8x0 by hand and running alsaconf.
I actually made packages of alsa-lib and alsa-driver 1.0.11rc4 for myself in the process, but I've switched away from those again, so I don't think they should be needed for NF4/MCP51 to work. That said if your problem doesn't go away I'll be happy to post the PKGBUILDs I modified or even send the packages themselves (with absolutely no guarantees).

  • Need for patches

    Hi
I administer Oracle 8i, 8.1.7.4.0 on a Linux server. I have been to support why I need to implement the Critical patch-July 2006, in layman's language.
I have read other threads on the same subject but they do not say exactly why one needs to update the patches,
    Can anyone help me???

Because Critical patch is fixing vulnerabilities (security holes) which was discovered to protect against potential attacks (in layman's language).
    Risk matrix is here:
