A few suggestions:
1. Either slow down your animations, or make one of them
stop. It makes me a bit dizzy looking at both moving all the time.
2. Get someone to edit your text for you. There is too much
repetition, the lists are too long, and there are many grammatical

Personally, I found the color scheme very drab and depressing. On the Welcome page and the info on Maria Montessori, it's all grey on grey (background and font and pics). Even something as subtle as making the small topic title headings a color will really make the page pop and bring the page to life.
What about adding some pics of the facility? Just a thought.

I would suggest that you purchase the SSD through a third party source. You will save money that way.
Regarding the performance, go to the OWC web site. They have bench tested their SSD vs conventional HDD and have published the results for anyone to see,
The difference between the 128GB and the 256GB drives is capacity, no practical change to performance.

There is something mysterious in people's behaviour. If they bought something and they never experienced any problem with it, they tend to stay with that brand, but if they encountered difficulties and especially if that happened more than once, they tend to steer away from that brand. If you buy a certain brand of car and it is at the dealer for repairs more often than you like, your next car will probably be another brand.
I have had my share of problems with Seagate disks (7200.11 series that were notoriously bad and had a failure rate of more than 100% after several were replaced under warranty), so my natural tendency was to steer away from Seagate and look for other options. However, when I considered the price of their 7200.14 series, I was tempted again, but at the same time turned off by their meager 1 year warranty and the reviews on for instance NewEgg. Those reviews are generally rather meaningless, because you never know how people have handled and installed their stuff, but nevertheless it was a mark on the wall for me. In my specific case I needed 25 identical disks to start with and based on price, warranty and reputation I selected Seagate Constellation ES (the Enterprise editions) drives, which up to now have performed flawlessly for 6 months. I have to admit I have never used WD drives at all apart from the Velociraptor which is still going strong in my old system, but they seem to have a good reputation, have a nice warranty period and are somewhat reasonable priced.
I have no idea how much space you need, what future plans you have (do you need to get a parity raid in the future) and stuff like that, but WD Caviar Blacks have a solid reputation for single disk use or in striped arrays. OTOH in parity arrays they are lousy, so if you may consider a parity array on a dedicated controller, the Blacks are out.

I'm using reiser4... I build kernel myself, so I patched reiser4 for 2.6.28.1 + additional little __grab_cache_page patch which I made myself, like 2-3 days ago or so... Worked like a charm...
Do You have any special complaints about reiser4?
As for the -ice thing, I tried it, I see logs that say pm-utils are replace by tuxonice, but my stupid nvidia doesn't hibernate and hangs up, there was that page allowance thing I think... Is it so that -ice + page allowance needs hibernate script? I would like to use standard gnome power manager, so I can hibernate / suspend easily, is there a workaround for gnome to use hibernate script?
Sorry, but I don't know details or whatever else about hibernate script and integration with gnome, so any suggestion would be beneficial...

if you have a lot of time you can follow some of the larger threads on AskTom. I think Mr. Kyte can do almost anything with SQL. And there are also some recurrent contributors as Stew Ashton provinding very interesting solutions.
Another option is to take a look at the answers in this forums: some participiants as Frank Kulash or Solomon Yakobson (to name just two of them) come up with astonishing pieces of SQL frequently.

Need some help and guidance please!

Hi everyone,
I desperately need some help because I am at my wits end. In September I purchased a Compaq Presario CQ60-450US. Shortly after purchasing, I fresh installed Windows 7 Professional. Recently I decided to tried to dual boot ubuntu on the machine only to find that the installation failed because of CD read error. I know for a fact that the CD is not the issue because I have used this CD three other times to install ubuntu thus I came to the conclusion that the CD/DVD drive was bad.
I called HP support to get a new CD/DVD drive replaced only to spend 2 hours on the phone with a individual that decided to troubleshoot first trying to install ubuntu remotely (I informed the indiviual that the remote session would end), then by playing a DVD and "skipping throughout" the movie. He/she said that she could see no issue. (no diagnostic was run)I informed the individual that I had issues with buring as well. He/she proceeded to go online and install software asking me to demonstrate the issue after which the call got dropped mysteriously.
I called HP support back and told them that I am having an issue now burning. They proceed to connect remotely and look at the software the previous support individual downloaded and said that the software was not supported by HP. I informed the individual that I give permission to install any software needed to troubleshoot but the individual said that I could not be suppoted because I wasn't using the OS installed by HP. I was instructed to recover my machine to the OS that was installed with the machine if I was to continue to get support.
I informed the individual that the drivers and software are the same for either OS considering the CD/DVD rom is a plug and play device. The individual refused to help and told me I had lost my warranty because of my decision to install an OS directly from Microsoft or a third paper vendor.
That is where I stand. HP is refusing to give me support because I am not running their Vista Home edition even though my issue is hardware. I cannot find any warrent information stating that I need to have the original operating system installed on the machine to receive support. Can anyone point me to a reputable division that can help me with my issue? I feel I was just thrown aside so that they don't have to initiate a repair. If not has anyone filed a compalint against this outrageous support requirement?

I would like to say that I have some good -- or at least encouraging -- advice. Regretfully, I do not. I had issues with my dv7 practically since purchasing it a year ago specifically so I would have a reliable computer for school. My first problem: I bought my laptop a mere 7 weeks before HP started offering their free upgrade to Windows 7. Consequently, I was forced to purchase the full installation retail or continue to deal with the wonton freezes and system failures that inevitably occurred while I was working on homework -- courtesy of HP's installation of Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Thankfully, I was able to purchase a copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit through a significant student discount offer from Microsoft, and I had my new OS downloaded the evening of October 23, 2009; I had to give their servers time to free up, since it seemed like everyone and their dogs were also downloading what the reviews posted on CNET and PC World touted as being more reliable. I recall (I can't remember exactly which site this appeared) the statement, "Windows 7 is what Vista should have been from the beginning."
I was all excited and happy now that I had a laptop for school that had everything I was looking for: decent size hard drive, a fair amount of RAM, great 17.3" display with awesome colors, and a CDRW/DVDRW/Blu-Ray disk drive in the bay. Not only was I very satisfied with the hardware; it also came with a decent host of software that are thought was pretty cool, too. It came with CyberLink's DVD Suite 6 that I could activate simply by touching a soft button above the keyboard. Aside from Vista Home Premium crashing on me at the most inopportune times, I was exceedingly happy with my $1000 purchase and investment. Then came the "upgrade" to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit...Because I didn't have a "compatible" version of Vista, I had to do a full ("custom") install. In other words, I lost all of the cool features I originally bought the machine for in the first place...no more cool one-finger's brush software activation (still don't have that working), and HP Chat Support told me the same thing they told you. The following is a direct copy/paste quote from an email response I received from HP Total Care: "In order to help you relevantly I would like to request you to please revert back to Vista operating system and check whether the issue is persisting or not. If the issue is still persisting after reverting the operating system back to vista then we need to perform system recovery."
After pursuing my case for 6 months -- finally getting my case escalated to two HP Customer Care Case Managers in Texas/Oklahoma -- the best "customer support" I received was what I'm sure was a truly heartfelt and sincere apology... Oh, neither case manager was "able" to send me either the true upgrade disks that would have preserved the features purchased, nor were they willing to send me a stand-alone installation of the CyberLink’s DVD Suite 6 that is currently offered with the HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition series. (In massive frustration and anger, I bought the CyberLink’s DVD software - $100 I didn't have to spend on something I had already bought...)
A month later (late March), MY CD-RW/DVD-RW/Blu-Ray drive stopped working. After an hour online with Customer Care, I had finally convinced the rep that the drive was working fine after my ditching Vista Home Premium, and that its failure had absolutely nothing to do with Windows 7 Pro. After giving the guy my credit card number as security, I had a replacement drive shipped to me.
My personal recommendation: clearly state that the hardware failure had nothing to do with whatever software or OS you chose to install. Bottom line: your computer is only 8 months old and is still covered under warranty, they can replace the defective part, or you can return the entire machine. You probably want to be the "Nice Guy" but you need to remind them that you have other brands available to purchase.
I don't know if that helps or not, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent! :-)

This is the third time you've asked somebody to do your homework for you. Read the javadocs, check out the tutorials, test the code yourself and experiment with it.

Dear Friends,
I have two selects running something like this:
select <column-names> from <table-names> where <conditions>
union
select <column-names> from <table-names> where <conditions>.
there are three outer-join conditions in the first select and
three outer joins in the second like:
c=l(+)[in the first select]
d=m(+)
e=n(+)
and
f=l(+) [in the second select]
g=m(+)
h=n(+)
The result here generates 52 rows which is correct.
Now the case is that I am removing the union clause from the above SQL
and converting it like this.
select <column-names[1]>+<column-names[2]> from <table-names[1]>+<table-names[2]> where <conditions[1]>+<conditions[2]>
but i get the error:
same table cannot be outerjoined to two tables in the same query because i now have this
in the new query :
c=l(+)[from the first select]
d=m(+)
e=n(+)
f=l(+) [from the second select]
g=m(+)
h=n(+)
if I remove the join like:
c=l[from the first select]
d=m
e=n
f=l(+) [from the second select]
g=m(+)
h=n(+)
the query executes but results into 160 rows too much of unneeded redundancy, which is wrong.
My question is that:"Is there any way to do this? I mean to remove the union and combine the two selects into one without affecting the result of the Query which should be 52 rows only (while not affecting the joins I think this should also be the case)".

The union set operator performs a sort and deletes duplicates as a part of its definition.
If your revised query gives you the correct results only with duplicate rows then a select distinct may be all you need.
The cost of the sort and duplicate delete operation will affect your query performance but as the output result set is fairly small I do not think it will make much of a difference.

Warnings and observations- need some explications and opinions

I'm new to Java and using Eclipse for coding. I copied the following code from a book, but Eclipse gives me some yellow flagged warnings (not critical). There are few I can't understand. This would help me a lot in understanding Java better, as I couldn't find answers. Thank you.
warnings I get:

interesting observations:
3) If I delete setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); and setContentPane(ca);, the program works as before. Are they necessary?
4) Which Layout do you use? Border layout looks for me very unuseful if you can only add 5 buttons, you can' arrange tham ore leave spaces between. Do you use Gridbag Layout in application ore what other, so that I know which is the best
5) I also get the warning : The local variable win is never read     demo.java     teste/src     line 6     Java Problem. Is there any problem IF I have warnings in my code? I don't need to do anything else with the win variable? Should I add some parameters to the variable or leave the warning message.

1. You simply haven't defined the static long serialVersionId variable (not really necessary).
2. blm.CENTER should be BorderLayout.CENTER (No biggie but should definately be changed).

part a. The default action is dispose on close, but since your program does nothing other than this simple GUI it will also exit at that point. So, in this case, it doesn't matter, but is better to set it, if that is what you want to have happen.
part b. since ca is defined with getContentPane(), using setContentPane() is not needed.
Judging by the stuff shown, if this is a true copy of the example from the book you used, and not edited by yourself, then I would say to find a new book. These things may only be warnings, and no real big thing, but in a book they are signs of disaster. As it will either cause bad habits in the person using them, or even cause real problems in other areas. If they are this sloppy in such a simple example, I would hate to see anything more complicated from them.

I want to copy my dvds so that I can take the copies along when I travel rather than the originals. I know of two applications - Mac the Ripper and Popcorn that can do this but which one would work best with my Powerbook? I'd like to copy them onto a single DVD without the menu, extras, etc.
I'm totally a newbie at this so any help is much appreciated!

If you want to simply copy the main feature of a DVD to a DVD±R/RW then Roxio Popcorn/Toast Titanium 7 will be your best best. MacTheRipper will only rip a DVD to your hard disk so you will need to subsequently compress and burn with other tools.
Now, if you join more than one feature so that you can burn it to a single DVD±R/RW then I would suggest you look at DVD2OneX…

Need some advice and information

I have been working with a Palm tungsten T5 (palm os) on windows XP for the past 2/3 years and have lots of information on tungsten to include health file plus. I recently purchased a new laptop with windows vista. Which I haven't had any problems downloading the Palm OS for vista, as well as the healthfile plus for vista. I have been looking at upgrading my phone and combine my pda with my phone on a Treo pro. 1. I wondered if I can upgrade from Palm OS to windows mobile, and any suggestions on smartphones, I currently have at&t as a phone carrier.. Thanks you all for your time....

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums. If you upgrade to the Treo Pro you should have no problem migrating your data. You will have to have MicroSoft Outlook however. The Treo Pro is a windows mobile device not palm os and only syncs with outlook. To migrate you would first insure the palm desktop / hotsync conduits are set to sync to outlook and sync your data into outlook. Then do the setup for the Treo pro and sync which should pull the outlook data in. Now any 3rd party programs that you have such as your Healthfile plus will need to be a windows mobile 6.1 compatable version as palm os compatible software will not work on windows mobile.

BEST BUY ONLINE NEEDS SOME HELP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS TO BE HELPFUL

After having just spent an hour trying to order something that the website says was in stock, and then finding it really wasn't available, it became obvious to me that Best Buy online leaves something to be desired. It seems like a classic bait and switch. Get people to the website with a low priced "deal", only to find it isn't available, however a more expensive version is available.
So, I call customer service. I get someone who assures me the order will go through, provide my credit card, redeem my points, and only to find it would not work after all, as it didn't for me. So I ask for a supervisor. And I get someone who says "I don't know" and has no answers except that this is the way it is. To add salt to the wound, he announces that unlocked phones cannot be ordered via telephone. When asked why the rep didn't know that, yes, another "I don't know".
As a Best Buy customer who spends way too much money at Best Buy, I find this entire situation unacceptable. As they say, vote with your feet, I will be exploring other stores to spend my money at. A website that says something is available, and then isn't, simply is bad business. And customer service who can only say "I don't know" isn't really customer service at all.
A "out of the box" idea would be to listen to what I'm saying, and fix it; this isn't the first time this has happened. Simply saying "I don't know" is only irritating customers who are trying to buy things from Best Buy. I am so frustrated with the situation and I assure you I will look elsewhere for future needs/wants.
