Need some help choosing what web service technology to use

I'm going to be developing a project which will expose a wen service on a WebLogic 11g server. The web service needs to have security options such as SSL, message encryption and/or access control security.
What I am struggling to determine is what is the best web service framework to use.
I'd like to know which one is easiest for WebLogic to handle - is it Axis2 ? How is Metro handled by WebLogic?
Basically I want to avoid wasting time configuring things or having conflicts between what the web service api needs and what weblogic has by default.

HELP I need some help choosing the right laptop

Hello there. I am a student and I am looking to buy a Apple laptop. I have around 700GBP to spend, but I do not wish to spend all of that. As I do not use Macs that often I dont think I need the newer Macbooks or the Macbook Pros as I feel that it is a waste of power. My friend said the 12" Powerbook was the way to go. There are several different models out there and I was wondering if anyone could help me choose one. It will be used mostly for word processing and admin based work, but I would like to have enough power to be able to run some graphic based activities. I wont be using high level apps that much but it would be nice to know if the opportunity was there, then i I have sufficient power to be able to run them. My friend said an 867mhz G4 with upgraded hdd and ram would do the trick, but I have found out that the specs range all the way up to 1.5ghz. I like the look of the powerbook and I have heard they are more reliable than an ibook which is why I dont really want to choose one of those. Thanks for any help!

The biggest advantage of the 12PB is its portability, but you didn't include that in your specs.
The graphics are very good for the small screen. If you need more intense graphics you should consider a larger screen.
I use mine for mostly word processing and e-mail. I am also the IT guy in my small office and I manage networked PCs from my PB. I use an external monitor and screen spanning for extra work area. I thought long and hard before I bought my PB, as I had used PCs extensively all my life. The configuration that was recommended to you will work fine.

OK, so i just got CS6 and have been watching lynda,com videos on flash pro. Im wanting to build a website like the one at helpmeinc.com. What im confused with is what programs with cs do i need to make a menu like that. Do i need to create a SWF file for each item and have a video play with a EventListener for a hover from the mouse because that seems like a lot of work. Do i need to work in dreamweaver as well as flash builder and flash pro? what programs do i need to learn to accomplish what i want? ( moreso the menu function and how to build a nice interactive menu)

From what I can see the site you identified is what would be considered a Flash site, meaning it is a single Flash swf file that contains every section of the site, including the animated menu and the pages that the menu accesses. I did not go thru the entire menu to confirm that though.
So what you might want to do is search Google using terms like "Flash website tutorial"... I don't know if Lynda.com has any, but if you are familiar with things there you might check it out.

Need some help with backing up external hard drive using Time Machine

Hi all, I'm trying to work out the best way to back up multiple iPhoto libraries using Time Machine.
At the moment I have got an iMac and Macbook Pro, both of which have an iPhoto library (with different content). Currently these are not backed up at all. So what I want to do is back both up to an NAS drive, which I know is straightforward.
What I also want to do is create one iPhoto library on an external hard drive that I can use with my MBP, and then delete the iPhoto library on my MBP to free up some hard drive space (it's running slower and slower and I'm hoping that this might help it run quicker).
So, as I want to have the library on two seperate drives in case one fails, what I want to know is whether I could use Time Machine to back up my external hard drive as well as the internal drive of my MBP? Also, would I need to have the external drive connected at all times for Time Machine to "see" it?
I hope that makes sense, all I seem to be doing currently is going round and round and can't work out whether what I want to do is possible or not.

If I understand your goal correctly, you're considering using Time Machine as external storage, and it doesn't work that way. Time Machine keeps around what it can, and older stuff gets flushed as the storage available to Time Machine reaches its lower threshold due to the addition of newer stuff. When the older stuff gets flushed is not predictable.
It is possible to have several Time Machine backups aimed at the same target (this can be done with Apple Time Capsule, for instance), though you might want to partition the disks to ensure that the intended amount of storage is available. Different NAS drives have different features here.
NAS is only as fast as your network connection, and that's almost always much slower than the in-box I/O connections; a local disk will be far faster than a NAS disk, just because of the bottleneck that is wired gigabit Ethernet, and most WiFi is slower and sometimes far slower than wired gigabit Ethernet. FWIW.
If your MacBook Pro is old enough and you have $$ but aren't in a position to spend $$$$$ on a newer model, then consider an in-place drive upgrade.
If your network connection is fast enough to transfer the amount of data you're dealing with in a reasonable time, there are also hosted storage options.
You can use a NAS drive as storage independent of Time Machine, and relocate stuff there. (You'll still want to have backups of that data, as NAS drives — even NAS with RAID — can still lose files, become corrupted or otherwise ruin your data day.
As for your performance, keeping about 10% or so free on the disks is the local preference, but it's worth reviewing the performance of the whole system — Performance Monitor, Console.app, etc — to see if there's something else going on, or if your system load and personal performance expectations are exceeding what your MacBook Pro can provide.

Need some help with Mail settings

I need some help on what mail settings to use. Basically I want my Mac's Mail.app synced with my iPhone's mail.app and everything on the gmail server to be archived and have it so that i do not need to download all the archived emails that are on gmail to either mail.app, if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

You are not alone. I can't get mail to work with our exchange server no matter what I do. I set Entourage up in less than 2 minutes by entering some simple information. I am using the latest versions of Leopard and Mail and it just refuses to connect.
For instance, in Entourage I entered my user name, password and the exchange server name and that was it. Got my mail and it works great. Mail wants to know the SMTP server name? What SMTP server? No matter what information I put in that field it gives me an error saying it can'tr connect to the SMTP server. That is because it is an exchange server not an SMTP server I guess. Also, even when I enter the exact same information as I did with Entourage, mail refuses to connect with it saying to "check the connection". The connection works fine, as Entourage is having no problems sending or receiving mail. With Entourage there is a LDAP setting but no where in Mail can you enter what the LDAP server is. At least is doesn't use that terminology anywhere.
What do you have to do to get Mail to work with an exchange server?

If the file was not originally from iTunes, you'll need to redownload it from it's original source or rerip it from the CD. Files can sometimes go bad and become corrupted. As to how or why that happens, there are a number of ways.
What format are the problematic tracks in? Have you tried converting them to another format in iTunes?

@ Gary: No, there is no need to specify an editable region in the page title.
If you make a template from a page, by saving it as a template (using "save as template"), the page title is automatically made editable.
@ Jesus: if you look into the code of your template or of any childpage, it should read like this:

<title>Mi PageTitle</title>

meaning that the page title is indeed editable.
If it does not look like this, something went wrong.
Maybe do a little test, save your page as a template and see if the code reads as above.
It is important that you keep your templates in the Templates folder in your root folder
Do not move the folder or change its name, otherwise it will not work.

A Web Service is as the name implies, a service offered over the internet. For example, the weather service. Internally, it could be a java or a .net web service or any language, for that matter. The only thing that matters is the two-way communication. What makes it so special? Because, it is universal and no matter which platform I'm running on, I can utilize a web service. To make it universal (platform independent), there are some standardized ways on how the communication should happen. The communication happens via XML/SOAP, since it is universal and all major platforms support it. XML/SOAP acts as the middleman. We don't bother how the application works in the 'inside. We put our request(say, I want to know the weather in a particular city) in XML format and send it to the web service. The web service replies back with another XML data, which we can read. The exact signatures(like import export parameters for calling a method/FM) for utilizing the web service are available in a WSDL file that the web service provider makes available publicly. Very popular web services are listed in the UDDI.

I could not get a clear idea of which technolgy to use.
Which Java web service technology will be the best to develop web services independant of language, platform.

Java by nature is a cross-platform language, so if your focus is on the need for portability, the choisce of WS should not be a problem. However, each WS is best suited for paricular uses.
SAAJ, a low-level level API, offers much simplicity, but is not the first choice for programmers, as SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)messages need to be constructed piece by piece, making it a quite arduous code to program.
If you are not familiar with XML, your best bet would be to use JAX-RPC (Java API for XML-Remote Procedure Calls), as it hides the underlying detail from the programmer, in terms of SOAP and XML. The shortcoming with RPC-based WS is that it is "restricted to the local programming experience". Another failing is that assumes there is a network path- a reliability concern.
If your program will be contacting other services during downtimes, unlike JAX-RPC, JAXM is quite useful. However, your listing did not mention it, so I wont cover it.
JAXR is a client-side only API that acts as an interface between registries (not referring to JAXP)

Assuming you are familiarized with the J2EE platform (now changed to Java EE SDK), the NetBeans IDE (either 5.5, 5.5.1 or the latest editiion) is quite useful. I am using 5.5.1, but have found that it is quite buggy, especially when adding WS operations, a core requirement of a WS. if you will be using to devlop a service for an immediate need, you may find the learning curve to be a bit high, in terms of getting to grips with how to use it. Apache Axis2, Geronimo and JiBX allows fast development of WS, or so the creators profess.
The PHP environment- you could try NuSPHERE PHPed. According to one website, with it you can develop a web service in under an hour.

Soo i opened my start menu then went on all programs then clicked on Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6 then i clicked on the dreamweaver CS6 then when i clicked on it i heard my computer shut down then it shuted down when i opened it straight away then it turns it self back on
What did i do about this when it happened?
I made a question so please can telll me what to do or what ever
Why did i download it?
i downloaded it because i am making a website and i want to use dreamweaver CS6 because i use notepad++ i do not like the notepad++ its harder and dreamweaver helps a bit i think because i watched a video of it

Well, i will be very angry because i am making a good website its gonna be my frist publish website ever i made 20 websites but i never published them i deleted them because i wiped my computer

No.
Service Pack 3 just updates your OS. All of your files, folders and programs will still be there.
You will start running into more problems like this the longer you stick with XP though. That particular OS is over 11 years old, service pack 3 hs been out for over 4 years.
It may be time for a system upgrade. I personally went from XP to Windows 7 and I haven't looked back one bit.

Need some help after inserting CMS system

Hi on my site ive inserted an CMS system from Cushy. It all work that isnt the problem. The problem is that my page is a mess now.. The only thing ive addes is a cms code so im hoping the solution isnt hard to do.
There are three pages that are complete changed.
The home page

The text colomn right under is moved.How can i place this back?
on http://www.dorff.nl/ you can see how it was before i add the CMS.
The next page is:

You can see there is a lot extra space between the head and the text. And you see that the text is not only at the right side anymmore.
This is how it should be:

I will try to explain again what is wrong. On my site you see this page:

Problem is that the picture below is on the right side of the page instead of the left like the other pictures.
On:

You can see how it should looks.. Pictures to the left and text on the right. Dont know what happened when im adding the Cuschy CMS. Hope you can see what is wrong.
