Need some help-getting an error while installing
Hi all..
I am having a problem while installing Java applications via GPRS. The application's working fine when i download it from a remote site and install it on the emulator. But when i try downloading and installing it via GPRS on to a java enabled phone it gives me en error "Invalid Application". And on another phone tells me "Downloaded jar file are invalid"
Please give me your suggestions on how to solve this error.
Sound like a corrupted jad-file. Check if MIDP and CLDC version are set correctly and also take care that the jar-file does not exceed the filesize limitation of your phone.

Does anyone have any experience with this unit or another SCSI adaptor that may be of help.

Maui, HawaiiDan Page-
I've not used this card, but a quick scan of the web page says that it is compatible with Mac OSX 10.3.X. You may want to contact them to verify that it will work with your system.

Please help.> I face this problem while installing SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 for MAXDB on Windows 2003 . DO you have any idea what happens with my installation?*
I HIGHLY recommend not using a 32bit operating system for Solution Manager, you will run into lots of problems and issues concerning memory usage and limitations of the 32bit platform.> 08.06.11 10:21:42 com.sap.inst.jload.Jload logStackTrace

It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

I get an error while installing Ovi suite.
I can't install the Ovi suite. I'm trying to update my firmware and get the free maps to my phone. I've loaded the newest version, but I get an error.

The installer is trying to install Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 runtimes to your machine when the error appears.

Many other programs install the same component and if you try to google this issue you will find quite many people strugling with the same issue even though they would be trying to install something totally different application. Unfortunately, there is no single solution that would fix this issue. Anyway there are some ways to figure out what is causing the error.
First step is to try to find the actual hresult error code. It should be something like -2343434.
Download the package from the link above and try to install that. You should get the same error message. Then type %temp% to you address bar and press enter. Sort the files by date. There should be very recent log file. Try to look for this hresult code or some other hint from the log file. Attach it also here.
You can get more information and solve tips from these links:
http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/797226.htm
error 1935 troubleshooting guide: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2004/11/10/255346.aspx
There are also several different direct solve solutions which may or may not work in your case. I'll list couple of them here with references:
1)
Please go to %windir%\WinSxS and rename each *vc80* file to a different name. Then re-run setup.
http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/121817/error-1935-an-error-occurred-durin...
I would definately go back to WinSxS and rename those *vc80* folders back that didn't appear after re-running setup.
2)
Ckeck if the "Windows Modules Installer" service is started. If not, try to start it from the services console. If you receive an error "1450 Insufficient System resources" error, then follow this steps:
1) Open regedit and replace the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
Key: RegistrySizeLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0xFFFFFF (4294967295)
2) Reboot
3) Open a command prompt as administrator and run SFC /SCANNOW to check the integrity of system modules.
4) Install pending windows updates
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/1099136a-03df-4da4-966c-5a4e56b8f...
ps. I've also seen comments that you should repair .net 2.x. -

Need some help getting my iTunes over to my new Mabook pro
Hi:
I am trying to populate the iTunes application on my new laptop with my song from my G5 desk top. I failed trying to burn the songs to a DVD. I needed three dvd's to hold all my songs. The process failed on disk one. But it did totally fill the disk with something as the is now worthless. it is not recognized by iDVD.
Help need some ideas.
Thanks
Dan Page
Maui, HawaiiHi:
Thank you for the reply, most appreciated.
Did you burn as a data disc? Yes, I used iTunes "file/back up to disc".
Why are you using iDVD to import you music?
I had to use a DVD because I have many songs.
The only error I got was that the first of three DVD's was not usable. I did not burn the next two.
Thanks

Need some help getting iTunes installed
I already know that I have a problem installing iTunes and its during the "publishing product information" part of the installation. I got my hands on a Windows XP Home Edition disc . . . I attempted to do the installation repair . . . part way through it I was asked to give the "administrators password" . . . this I do not know. After the third wrong password I was told that I needed to reboot and start over. I am trying to avoid the re-installing windows b/c of all the factory crap that I have on this comptuer.
Is there anyone out there that can break this down to me big bird and barney style?? I have been on the phone waiting to talk to someone at compaq from more than 80 mins now!!
Thanks
Puckhi puckusmc!

okay, it sounds like you've already found the correct KB doc for the "vanishing installation" problem:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300361
... so you're on the right track.
what administrative rights do you have on that PC?
if you don't have administrative rights, can you contact the administrator to get them to do the install for you?

Need some help getting my system running again.
So the other day I decided to do a full system upgrade with pacman -Syu. It then asked me to exit X and reload the Nvidia drivers. Now, somehow switching to consoles got broken on my system (the ctrl+alt+F? key combination does nothing) so instead of exiting X I had to reboot. Something must have gone wrong with the kernel install because when I booted up I got a segmentation fault when trying to mount the local file system. Utilizing the fallback kernel didn't work, probably because I tried to install the kernel twice as the first time pacman gave me some errors. So then I booted up with the install CD and did a chroot back to my hard drive's root directory and tried to reinstall the kernel. What I ended up getting were a bunch of errors regarding line 60 of /lib/initcpio/functions. There was another line mentioned as well, line 132 or something like that, I can't remember exactly. After that I tried to reinstall mkinitcpio but I kept getting the same errors. Finally I just started removing every package I could find references to to reinstall later (which I'll admit was a rather irrational decision) and I apparently ended up removing something that pacman depends on so now I can't remove or install any packages (I really wish I actually knew what I was doing sometimes). Anyway I was wondering if any of you had any bright ideas as to how I can get my system up and running again without doing a clean install. I have a lot of stuff on there that I don't want to lose but I'm not sure where it all is so I'd have a tough time trying to back it up.

All I can say is "WOW".
You're probably as old as me.
Actually I'm 19. I just found it out in the garage one day while I was collecting parts for my system build.
EDIT: OK yeah, now I'm sure it's my keyboard that's the problem. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the combinations worked for 3-4 minutes then stopped again.
EDIT 2: I just did some more experimentation and it turns out my alt keys don't work at all. Why it's only my alt keys and why it's both of them, I have no idea.

[SOLVED] Need some help getting the sound to work again
Recently I changed the motherboard and CPU to an AM3 platform, everything works with my previous setup except sound.
Reinstalling alsa-utils and rebooting had absolutely no effect. Google didn't help either.

The motherboard documentation refers to it as "VIA VTI708S".
VLC complains about alsa-lib. Reinstalling it also didn't help.

Edit:
Damn ASUS font... It's "VIA VT1708S" (number one, not the letter "i") ! Duh. No wonder Google couldn't find any info.
Still, any ideas ? Or would you just rather let me squirm a little and diagnose the problem myself ?
Last edited by DSpider (2010-11-28 18:15:41)sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel
(I think it's what you tried to tell me, igndenok)
Great. It took the bulk of my day trying to figure out how to get this thing to work.
VolWheel is now set to adjust "Master Front" (it was previously set to "Master" with the old motherboard) and the Sonata volume bar apparently works too, just like I wanted (adjusting the PCM volume by default). Good. Great ! Now I just need to set the "snd-hda-intel" module to load at boot so I don't have to type "sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel" all the time and this thread can be considered SOLVED.
sudo nano /etc/rc.conf
...and add the following:
MODULES="... snd-hda-intel ..."
(also removed snd-ac97-codec from the list because that's what the old mobo used)
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP !
PS: Just out of curiosity, why is it called "snd-hda-intel" ? Why intel ? The CPU is AMD, the chipset is Nvidia nForce, sound is VIA...
Anyone know ? I'll subscribe to this topic just in case anyone knows. Thanks again.
