Can you setup a device using the mac address when you are using WPA-PSK? Every time I enter the key it is not accepted....any suggestions?

Are you saying that your WPA key is not accepted, or the MAC address is not accepted? If you are talking about the MAC address, where are you trying to put it?
If you are having trouble with your WPA key, read on:
If you are trying to run WPA-PSK with AES, this is equal to WPA2.
If you are also running Windows XP, please note that Windows XP requires a patch to run WPA2. Go to Microsoft Knowledge base, article ID=893357 and it will direct you to the patch.
Sadly, the patch is not part of the automatic Windows XP updates, so lots of people are missing the patch.

Cannot get slide show in full screen mode to come up on secondary monitor regardless of how I set up show it always opens on primary screen. Need some help here.

Slide show in PowerPosint for mac 2011 on iMac will not open full screen mode on secondary monitor. Regardless of how I set the slide show preferences it always opens on primary monior with secondardy monitor having totally balck screen. Need some help if anyone else has run into this problem.

all connected to my airport extreme
I noticed that the clients on the base system jumped from 4 to 6 recently and the clients on the express jumped from 2 to 3. This is in the airport utility.
I have also noticed speed differences... should I be using another utility to confirm my acquisition?
Also... It was a wpa network im trying to switch it over to mac address control, or is there a possibility that he will be able to bypass this as well? and any suggestions on setting this up...

go to a website with a wpa (wpa2/personal) passphrase generator. such as grc.com/passwords. use "all printable characters" and use all 63 characters.
confirm you are not using WEP
all printable characters and 63 digits long results in 10^150 possible
combinations. someone hacking your passphrase would take 10^100 years
to get it.
with a long enough passphrase, there should be no need to keep a mac address table.
if someone is still breaking into your network (dont forget that bootcamp or other virtual machines also have thier own mac addresses) then someone is either breaking into your house to get it, or one of the people that live with you is giving it away.

entering 63 characters is kind of cumbersome when entering into clients.
look for ways to automate this, such as:
1) wifi protected setup. newer airports sort of support this, the newer airports can automatically send the passphrase to a client based on a PIN number, this is in airport utility, add clients.
2) keep the passphrase in a text file on a usb stick to copy and paste the passphrase into other clients
3) if you have an iphone or an ipod touch, you could use notes in mail as a clipboard to copy and paste the passphrase into your iphone or itouch
4) dont forget about "windows connect now" , you save the wifi config to the usb stick, and once u put that usb stick into any windows xp, vista, windows 7 computer, it will autorun, and copy the passphrase and add the computer to the network automatically. this even works on printers, like my hp photosmart 3310
5) as a last result you have to manually type in all 63 characters and you get annoyed, use the airport apps "equivalent network password" this will make it a bit easier. especially on devices like nook

Problems with the address book server! Really need some help here!

Hello everyone!
for about some time now, we're having some troubbles with the address book server located on our Mac Pro Server running SL Server. The connected clients somehow show multiple entries of groups, contacts and everything else address book can show. Sometimes you see one group or contact about 20-30 times or even more.
How can the addressbook server on SL Server be configured that these faults won't show up again. With this present, using address book server is useless. As far as my knowledge goes, I've tried everything I can. I deleted the address book account set up on each client, readded it, but no help. I stopped the address book server on the Mac pro, but no help either.
For your further information: we're connecting 14 clients. Moste of the rum Lion, three run ML and several iDevices connect via WiFi.
Please help me, as this really is frustrating!

With your external drive attached, open Disk Utility, found in Applications/Utilities. Choose your drive on the left, and use the Partition tab to set up the number and type of partitions. Partitioning will delete all data on the drive.

Don't forget that the Mac, just like Windows, is multi-user. You can set up a user for yourself and one for guests or specific people. Nobody can see anybody else's files. You can lock your computer when you go away from the desk if you want absolute privacy.
Or, you can create an encrypted disk image (also using Disk Utility) to store private files if you really want to stick with one user account.

Do you mean VMWare Fusion? I believe iSight support is included in the VMWare Tools - when you're running Fusion, there's a menu option to install/update those tools.

I believe it's Mac only, so you should check the Windows specs (RAM requirements, graphic card VRAM, etc) to see if you can run it within a virtual Windows on your Macbook.

VOICE over UDP need some help here

I have attached a vi i have been working on and i am having a litte trouble. I want to do somethink like voice over ip. Currently i have a setup that broadcasts the data to a client. The mic is sent over udp to the clients speakers and vice versa. I ingore anything that comes from one's one ip address. This works just great, but the problem is i need more than 2 on at a time. I dont want to mess with entering specific ip address ect. At most i only want to have to enter ones own ip address as i have in the example.
When i start running 3 of these vi's on separate machines, i can probe the address which the data is being received, and it seems to only get data from one address, not two like i would expect. Is there a buffer being cleared when read or something? Any help would be appreciated.

Here is how I have dealt with the port problem in the past (albeit, not
in labview, but lets hope LabView's usage of UDP is consistent with
other programming languages ) is you always have clients connect to
a listen port on the server. You will have a thread watching for
incoming connections on that port. When one is detected, you
create a new "personalized" connection for that client to use to
communicate with the server. Part of this process involves
assigning that conenction a new port. This assignment is
dynamic--the server just assigns some random available port (so in
other words, you don't have to hard code one in).
So once a client connects, the server responds from the new port, the
client receives that datagram and checks where it came from (address
and port) and sends all future messages to that port on the server.
Does this make sense? I'm afraid I won't be much help with
anything aside from theory as I haven't actually played with the
network functionality in labview--all my network programming comes from
C and Java.
As to combining the sounds, I'm afraid I don't know. I think the
simplest system would be a half-duplex system whereby clients can only
send data when they are not receiving it (or rather, 1 person talks at
a time). I can understand how this isn't ideal. I wonder
how this is accomplished in other, similar voice-chat programs?
One final thought: I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to make a wild stab
in the dark and say you might run into bandwidth problems if you're
transmitting an unencoded (uncompressed) voice signal. This is
undoubtably more complex than you want to get, but you might look
around for ways to reduce the amount of bandwidth you're going to
use. And if you'd like examples of programs that will allow this
kind of chat go check out Teamspeak (http://www.teamspeak.org/) or
Skype (http://www.skype.com/). Both these programs allow
multiuser voice chat (teamspeak is intended for chatting with your team
in video games). Skype is a very professional, very high quality
voice chat program that works more or less the same, with higher
quality voice. Oh and both are free

Hey MSIer, I just did a complete wipe on my hard drive and now there's totally nothing left on the drive like really nothing so what I wanna ask is that how do I get back all the pre installed software including windows 8.1 itself, how?

Need some help with wi-fi setup, please

I have just upgraded from Broadband opt 3 to infinity, currently getting stunning performance, but only when wired !
Have been running a wifi network on a Draytek 2600G for several years now without any problems, comprising 1 desktop, 1 laptop, together with PSP's, Playstation, ipods, Nintendo DS etc, etc. Not surprisingly the HH3 doesn't seem to like this setup and runs like a dog.
Seems to me that I should be able to connect my Vigor 2600G to (either) the Openreach modem, or the HH3, and turn off the facilities that I don't want - i.e. use the connectivity of the HH3 with the wifi facilities of the Vigor 2600G?
Any suggestions or advice on how to achieve this would be most welcome.

I think that the Vigor 2600 has some PPPoE functionality, but my understanding was that it is not a VDSL router, so will not stand in totally for the HH3.
What I have been able to do is to;
a/   switch off HH3 wifi
b/   assign IP address to the Vigor 2600 from the range used by HH3
c/   switch off Vigor 2600's DHCP functions
d/   cable from HH3 Ethternet to Vigor 2600
Now connected with all devices talking to Vigor 2600 wifi, and via cable to HH3 & 'Net. It's not clear to me if I can move the DHCP functions to the Vigor, for ease pf management, but a workable solution, albeit involving 3 mains connections as compared with one previously. (Looks like the Draytek 2750 will replace all this with a one box solution)
Some speed numbers; (all downloads)
We previously had BT Broadband running at approx 7.5 MB
Cable connection to HH3 & Infinity runs at 35-37MB
HH3 Wifi produces speeds in the region of 1-2 MB (actually, on my MacBook - the iMac in the corner of the living room refused to connect to the HH3 at all)
Using HH3 with Vigor 2600 wifi gives between 18 & 21 MB

I have the ipod connected via the USB cable. I have the newest updated program and itunes installed. For some reason the iupod is not being recognized. anyone know what i can do??

What's on the screen of your iPod?
Try resetting it: Make sure the hold switch is OFF so that there's no orange color showing. Then hold down the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons for about 10 seconds, and you should get an Apple logo on the screen. When you do, you can release the buttons and try again.
You can also try connecting the iPod to a different USB port, preferably one on the back of the computer if you're on a desktop computer.

all it do, is: read the text, decompose it, so it dosnt have any spaces, and then, it create an array whit the dimension of the text^1/2 +1 if the text/2==true or the other writted there; then it fills the array (0.0, 1.0, 2.0....,0.1,1.1,...etc), and then it show u the encripted text.
