Need some much NEEDED help:)

Just purchased my 32 gig WIFI only version of the ipad on monday, and must say it really is a "magical and revolutionary device". However the reason i am here is to get some help as to how i can go about getting wifi on this sucker.
Ok, I live in the middle of nowhere, and the Internet access i have is a Mobile broadband card through VerizonWireless, It's a USB modem. I have a windows laptop with visa as the OS. I go to create my ad-hoc network for my ipad, that all works fine BUT the ipad will NOT connect to the network. My computer says "network is ready for use" and the ipad picks up the network with full signal but will not connect. I have turned on the ICS option on the mobile braodband card and the whole 9 yards:/.

Ok, your iPad recognizes there is a wireless network...first, did you go to Settings > WiFi and Choose Network? Did it ask you for any security information if you have set your Vista (I assume you did not really mean Visa) PC to require security? Does your iPad, when you go to Settings > WiFi and choose the network then when you tap on the network show you IP address, etc?
Have you gone to Settings > Safari and turned AutoFill to OFF if it was not?
Have you entered your email information, incoming and outgoing servers, passwords, protocols (POP or IMAP for incoming)?
As much information as you have, short of actual userids and passwords, of course, will help a lot.

I need help with some technical YouTube Settings, third party tools page
How can I add ios mobile Safari, back to my google + third-party tools page? I updated my ipad 2 to ios7 and could no longer upload videos to youtube for my blog. YouTube had been saying unrecognized file type because it's not longer compatible with ios mobile photos app.
I went into settings via the google/youtube help files and removed some old stuff from the third party apps, like blogger-an inactive blog and obviously deleted the ios moblie too that was right underneath blogger. tried jumping through their hoops, add a phone number, verify your account, lengthen your video time, add 2 step verification (which was horrible and I went back in and removed it), add a password for ipad, etc.
They (youtube/google??) have been working on stuff because there is all kinds of new things the second day I tried to figure this out via their help/redirect links. ios mobile was there before and now it's gone, even though I did not choose/select it. But I have noticed that the ipad screen is much more sensitive than it was before the ios7 update. I don't even have to touch the screen for some things, it accepts and goes on it's own while my finger is hovering over the screen.

It's now November 1st. LOL 53 folks have read my problem and it only gets better. I pleaded with Google/YouTube via Feedback form (because they are one and the same now) to please add ios mobile back to Google 3rd party apps and after checking every single day, someone finally added it back for me. Yay! Then I asked if I needed to "revoke" Google+ in the 3rd party apps because some of the help files suggested Google+ is attached to your YouTube channel and might affect uploading of videos? For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get it off my YouTube channel. And the help files didn't take me to a place to change it. Upon checking 3rd party apps, I could no longer find the page they were on, and the Google+ app icon now goes no where.
Hey, but there are new menus with all kinds of statistics now about your account, like how many subscribers you have, what the average number of minutes people watch your videos,etc. Hmm... so I tried uploading a video and it worked. I got the message that ios7.0.3 with bug fixes was available a few days ago and updated to that. I'm back to, no longer upload videos, yesterday it was still freezing on the upload screen, where you add the title of your video and all of the specs, it appears to be half uploaded with a solid blue bar half way and goes no where. I have to close the app after an hour or more. I have rebooted a couple of times every day. Today it says, we could not upload your video, we did not recognize the format of this file. And when I go to YouTube and can see all of my videos, my subscriptions, I can not remove the videos that tried to upload, they are blank gray squares. A few days ago I could edit them out. I guess they are still working on it. These are the same self recorded videos, that I have been uploading for a year, same ipad. I have sent feedback to Google/YouTube once again.
I'm completely at their mercy. I have yahoo mail, so I can't send my videos via email, even though my channel has a special email address to send videos to for upload. Yahoo will not send a video more than a minute or so. I created an AT&T email address today, and it's the same there, will not send a 15 minute video. The upload link on YouTube no longer works, there on the same page with your special email address to mail your videos in, even though there is no email that supports a 15 minute video. My husband suggested video compressing program. I have not tried to upload from a PC, I do have icloud, so that may be my next route. Other forums say they/Google/YouTube are fully aware of it and are working on it. Still 30+ days in...
It's a shame these companies can't work together, it's a shame that there is no answer, because we all have these devices we spent hundreds of dollars on and want them to work. I have been searching the web for 30+ days and no one knows the answer. Hard to believe I'm the only person having this ipad issue. -
I need help with uninstalling FP so I can install FP or some hemlock
I cannot get flash player to install, uninstall so that I can install, as all the instructions tell us to do. That insane crazy pop up that tells you to install FP, that you can only say no to so that it will go away is making me want to eat a bullet. I cannot take it much longer. I have no idea what to do. And, the crazy thing is that I did do something a couple weeks ago that made it all stop and then somehow it started again. Sux to fix something but not know what you did, so that you break it again. Anywho, I have tried everything from doing a manual install with the downloader, tried downloading an older vs, but I could not find one that was compatible with Vista, which is my operating system (32 bit). I did go to the hyperlink provided on another persons delimna and the site said that I have the most current vs of FP installed. But, it is not showing in my programs list nor is it in my files in my C drive, nor a trace of it in common files. It is not in regedit in local machine/software/adobe. I cannot find it, only the saved programs to uninstall or install it saved to desktop. Wait, I just rechecked my programs and features and it shows flashplayer 10 Actuve X and shockwave player 11.5, both of which are not found anywhere else in my computer. I am so weary of all of this. I just need help. Please, please please, It is horrible because you have to have fp to run certain programs, but it will not run and I do not know if this is a Adobe issue, Windows issue or a Vaio issue.
Hokay, I have Norton 360, it is run regularily, I also ran ESET this week, I use malwarebytes, pest patrol, registry repair. I took adaware and mcafee off my system as I was told that too many virus softwares conflict and can cause problems. I have had my email stolen, along with the book, it appears someone stripped my email and sold it to a spammer. It is not coming from my computer. Makes me very upset. I have turned this into the FBI cyber crimes site, AOL and Yahoo, since the link emails in the details are yahoo accounts. I get the spam emails as well. Ppl who click on the hyperlinks, some of them are getting viruses, but as I said, these are not being generated by me, but rather from the web. I hate these ppl. My system appears clean.
The pop ups are what everyone who is complaining about this issue are getting, I am assuming. I am seeing this complaint all over. Here is the information about the pop up:
It pops up with any navigation you try to do in IE....any. It will pop up ten times in a row during simple functions. Makes you insane. And the only way you can answer it is to click don't allow. End of story. over and over and over. If you research, web wide you are told to uninstall FP and then reinstall, and there are hyper links provided to do it with, and then you are told to try doing it manually with the Adobe downloader. NOTHING works. I am truly so upset, I cannot use my laptop, a storm surge ate my desktop and I am waiting on insurance to replace that the the iPad is limited. I have no idea which or what is the prob, IE, Adobe or Vaio, which is my make of computer. But, this is so ridiculous. -

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
Paste into the window of another application.
Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Hi, I had recently purchased ipad3 and but obviously have been having issues with heating up and some minor issues with video playback etc. Apple has agreed to replace my device. I need help in deciding whether i should get a new ipad3 or opt for ipad2. Seller is willing to replace it with ipad2 as well..

Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard. -

Unfortunately, there is pretty much nothing you can do. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the lock. If you can't contact whoever you purchased it from, or if they can't or won't remove the lock, then it's a brick. There is a very real chance that it's stolen.

I need help with starting a script that does the following:
-within a base folder it takes an inventory (list?) of all the files (which happen to be image files).
-creates a new folder inside the base folder and calls it imagesX where X increases by one every time the script is run
-moves all the files into the images folder
-within the base folder it creates a new text file and calls it imagesX.js
-writes a "//-" into imagesX.js
-then writes the list of filenames into the imagesX.js twice, separated by an empty line, and adds a semicolon to the end of each filename and saves imagesX.js
-from a folder a level above the base folder it copies a file called index.html into the base folder and renames in indexX.html
-in indexX.html it replaces a string "replaceThis" with "imagesX.js"
The task is more complex but this would help me tremendously do the rest.
If I am asking for too much on this forum please let me knowThis should get you started.
The description of how you want to write the data isn't clear, but the rest should work (untested):

Connect the iPod to your syncing computer and restore it via iTunes. However, if iTunes asks for the unknown passcode you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod from backup. For recovey mode see:

This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. I went through the same thing. Searched again for another error I was seeing and found this help from Delgadoh and this finally fixed me! He mentioned this article: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. But I had not read it. I went straight to his instructions below.
If you haven't already tried these steps:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer.
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects. -

I am in the process of making a new template for my site.
I can't really provide any code and here's why, I need help finding the code that I need to change. The new template is actually being designed here.
If you scroll over the home link you will find a sub-menu pops up, if you scroll over the menu items they get bigger and come 'at" you, if you hover over sub-2 and then hover over sub-3 you will notice there is a wild transition effect, I need to know how to get rid of those, it is a different CSS code from another template link to my site. I can't find out how, if somebody could please help me out it would be wonderful. Thank you a whole bunch in advance.Your menu moves for a couple of reasons first, you have a border in the hover, which is going to move all of the text. You can get rid of the border in the hover or add a border of the same size/style in the active.
The second reason it appears you have some paddng in the hover that moves the text.
Find those and you can solve the issue.

I'v tried many times to update my applications however, my account can't do it because security code for my card is incorrect note that I'm sure my card details are correct completely so i need help to fix it as much as you can plz. ThnksLook, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -
