Need Sonic DVD/CD burning software

My Equium laptop came with Sonic burning s/w pre-loaded. Unfortunately my PC has Nero which is notoriously fickle when paired with XP. Does anyone know where I can download the Sonic s/w to my PC so that I can transfer data on disc between the two? [I know I can e-mail it if all else fails but I would like to be able to burn and shar discs between the two.
AL

Hi
In my knowledge the Sonic software is a part of the Toshiba recovery CD and its not possible to download the full version from the web.
If you want to use it you have to recover the notebook but you will lose the previous OS, data and files.
PS: I use the Nero with WinXP and Im satisfied no problems at all.

  • Re-installing iTunes to install DVD/CD burning software

When I load iTunes, a message come up saying that there is no component to allow DVD/CD burning....could be cause by installing other DVD/CD burning software and to re-stall iTunes. I have re-installed twice and re-booted and still get the same error message. I am trying to back-up my iPod library and can't burn to disk through iTunes. In addition, I find that my iTunes library now has about 40% of the tunes with an exclamation point next to the song list and if I try to play it, as error message comes up saying file can't be found. That's why I want to back up my iPod before I try to load my music from my iPod back onto my computer. HELP! Any ideas about how I can solve these problems?

  • Best DVD/CD burning software

I am new to Mac's. Can anyone tell me what the best burning software is right now? Thanks

    Hi sctrojans1
As mentioned by others here, Roxio Toast is the most comprehensive software for cd/dvd burning, but before you go get it, you might want to try a pretty slick little shareware application that does a lot for the price (25 bucks). Like Toast, it will do incremental backups on cds and on dvd+rw disks. I've used it for over a year and am very satisfied with it. You can get a trial version here:

  • Faulty DVD Drive/Burning Software?

Hi, I have a macbook pro and for some strange reason, the DVD drive or the software won't burn any DVD's I try to make. In iDVD, during the burning stages it get to the very near last stages of burning and then it ejects it before it has actually completed burning, thus giving me a blank disk. Also I have Final Cut Pro X which for some reason won't burn onto the DVD's as well. It says that it doesnt like the disk I used. However before it had this issue it was alright using the disk. The software had did have an update bhack in march/april and since that update it hasnt been the same since. The DVD's I have tried to use are Sony DVD-R 4.7GB. I would like some information or advice that could help reslove my problems if possible?

Another help source (if you haven't already done so).
Go to your OS Help Menu.  In the search field type dvd
Click on all the troubleshooting topics & Support Articles that pertain to  your issue.
You can also do the same in Disk Utility.  Open same up.
At the bottom left of the window, click on the purple button w/the "?" in the middle.
This will bring up the Help Menu.

  • I need advice on a burner

I am using a cd cyclone burner right now and i hate it right now its wont read my blank cds and when i use iTunes it just says checking media and doesnt do anything or it says the its unable to burn. Is there any external cd burners that is compatible with mac? I think if i remember LaCie is affiliated with Apple can someone verify that with me? Is there any cd burner that doesnt need to use another burning software and can just burn directly from iTunes. And to top if off i cant even burn cd-rw becuase it says its to fast I need to retire this burner any suggestions?

    Hello, Bruce,
I'd suggest you try asking in the area appropriate for your model of iMac. This forum is for the new Intel-based iMac and so perhaps not the most likely place for you to get a quick and accurate response.
    Good luck.

  • What software would I need to copy and burn DVD's

What software would I need to copy and burn DVD's

Copy what kind/type of DVDs?  For non-copy protected DVDs you can use Disk Utility (in the Applications folder) to make a disk image of the DVD disk and then burn it back to a disk.

  • When I attempt to log on to I tunes I get the following message  "The registry settings used by the I tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software  Please reinstall

When I attempt to log on to I tunes I get the following message:
"The registry settings used by the I Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.
This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install I Tunes."
To my knowledge no new software has been installed.  I have tried un-installing and re-installing I Tunes but I still
    get the same message.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?  Do I need to download a new driver?
    Bill Martin

I can get down as far as step 11 but it shows nothing about upper filters and when I type on "If the Upper Filters entry is missing follow these instructions" nothing happens
Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

  • Tecra M5: UJ-841s not recognised as DVD/RW by any burning software

I have seen on other posts that it is common for the drive to be identified in the Device Manager as a DVD-RAM (which is what is happening) but my DVD Multi-recorder (on a Tecra M5) is not recognised by any DVD burning software.
Is there an update or driver I should have?
    Thanks

    Hi
My first question: Do you use the Toshiba OS from the Toshiba recovery CD?
Did you install and use several burning applications together?
In my practical knowledge its not advisable to use different burning programs together.
You should use only one. I recommend Nero. Its nice.
If the sonic is installed on the HDD, try to remove it and use only the nero.
If the drive will be not able to handle the DVD medias, you should check different brands.

Using export slide show from iphoto, I am trying to create a DVD of photos and vid clips in large format. The vid clips do not work using burn software. Any idea?

Have used large format, but using the 'burn' software, I am not getting seamless video quality on DVD even though I am burning at 2* speed. Any ideas? Do I need better software? Or is there a problem with the SuperDrive?

  • Media MAnger uninstalls DVD burning software?

I just purchased my first Blackberry and find it very nice to use. Yesterday I installed the Desktop MAnager software and as part of that install Roxio Media Manager was installed with it. During the install process my Roxio CD and DVD Burning software was uninstalled. The Media Manager installation said it found an earlier version of the software and needed to uninstall it.
How do I install the desktop manager application without uninstalling my DVD burning software? Why would Blackberry design their installs to do this very terrible thing? It's uninstalling software that is not even used by the smartphone.

you want to install the Desktop Manager.
but what you really installed is "Desktop Manager" and "Roxio Media Manager". Since the installer of Roxio products is "not perfect", there are problems like the one you have experienced.
I suggest you to install your other Roxio software, then install the "Desktop Manager without Media Manager", which you have to download first.

  • What is the best dvd burning software

what is the best software to use on my macbook pro to burn videos from a video camera sd card onto a dvd

If you actually want to create a DVD that can be watched on any DVD player, you'll need some DVD authoring software. Apple used to sell iDVD, which was great and very simple, but it's been discontinued now. You can, however, still get it if you buy one of the iLife '11 packages from Amazon. You also could use Roxio's Toast Titanium (new version out just now) 12. There are some shareware apps out there, I believe, but I'm only familiar with iDVD and Toast.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
