Need SQR ODBC Drivers / Download +Installer

Can someone help me? We are using an old version of SQR (6.1.3 Bld 90), from the days just after Brio bought it. We are having trouble with our ODBC drivers, as we migrate the developers' PCs to WinXP / Win2k. All was fine in NT. Reinstalling from the disk is possible, but the ODBC install overwrites stuff (doesn't give option to just install the drivers) ... the Oracle drivers work fine, once a report is compiled, but ... we can't compile because the registry referents are out of whack, and we discovered this too late to save a version that WAS working. So ... we need either (a) drivers and a way to install them or (b) a way to unpack them from the data.z file on the install disk ... or some other answer. We cannot upgrade for a whole variety of reasons at the present time (maybe later in the year, but not now). PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!! Thanks for getting back to me.
I currently have Developer 2000, R2.1, but i want to be able to install the ODBC drivers on other machines that do not have any other Oracle software installed.
Surely there's any easier way to do this. Am i missing something? What is the pathway to install Oracle ODBC drivers on machines that have no other oracle software installed?

Cannot download ODBC drivers

I am attempting to download ODBC drivers for use with Oracle 10g via the following location.

No matter which version I attempt to download (10.1.0.5.0, 10.1.0.4.0, 10.1.0.3.1) I receive a connection timeout. Any thoughts as to why?

ODBC Drivers for Oracle 8.1.6 Doesn't work on Windows ME

Hello. I am in the need of running some aplications (ArcView, in fact) that needs connection to an Oracle 8.1.6 installed on a sun ultra machine. My client machine runs that awful Windows ME.
The matter is that i've tried installing the Oracle 8i Client, the Oracle 8i Enterprise Manager, and even the Oracle Enterprise Manager Cache (that had worked to me earlier over Win98).
All of that clients use the Oracle Universal Installer (Java-Based) and when is time for choose the oracle_home for installation that doesn't appear, just the box ready for enter the destination path. I did that, the installer reads the package list and then there are en error message: "There was a problem in the staging area. Please check the source an destination paths are correct". And, of course, that paths are good. Trying to install just the odbc driver (downloaded), causes the same. Anyway the driver needs the net client.
I've tried installing Oracle 8 client (8.0.4), but the drivers doesn't work at all.
the microsoft ODBC driver is just for 7.3 versions of Oracle, and is too out of date for my purposes.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Last I heard, the Oracle client wasn't certified on Windows ME. There are folks who have posted to the Oracle newsgroups with registry hacks to work around the problem if you're interested in going down that path.

ODBC: Oracle Universal Installer Crash on Windows 7 (Workaround found)

Clicking 'next' on first screen in the 10g installer makes the installer crash, showing a message 'Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occurred. Please provide the following files to Oracle Support: "Unknown" "Unknown" "Unknown". Goal for the moment is just to install ODBC. The read me in the ODBC driver 10.2.0.2.0 .exe says: This section assumes the following: Oracle Universal Installer shipping with 10.2.0.0.0 has already been installed on your system. Presuming that 10.2.0.0.0 is referring to another ODBC installer, this exe is not available, so how to install this? Since the installer from 10g is crashing, tried older ones, without success. What is going on? Is it a windows setting somewhere? How to just simply install the Oracle ODBC? Really no problems installing any other software. Avoiding of space in pathnames does not make any difference. Selecting optionbutton 'basic installation' and 'advanced installation' in installer gui both crash when continuing with 'next' ('advanced' does not have any values in that stage).

How to just simply install the Oracle ODBC?Probably what you're after is an oracle client install, no need to install a database if you just want ODBC. There is a small Express client on the XE download page, although I'm not sure if it includes ODBC drivers. The full 11g client software is at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/112010_win32soft.html
There is a support note 781054.1, if you're on 64-bit hardware with some how-tos on getting to the 32 bit ODBC drivers.

Please help me how to install ODBC Drivers on Unix platforms....You should be able to install them as a component of your client (or server) installation. Just use the Oracle Installer to add them.

How to install ODBC drivers ALONE in OUI?

Hi, I need to install ODBC drivers in oracle clients, so I choose "Customized" installation and then the "Oracle Windows Interfaces" component. However, OUI will also try to intall the Microsoft Transaction Server component under the previous mentioned node, and also "Oracle Object for OLE" and "Oracle Provider for OLE DB".
The question is: how can I install the ODBC drivers ALONE? I want to keep my clients with the minimal possible installation.

Have you looked at the 10g Instant Client? That's going to be a lot smaller and a lot easier to install.

Multiple ODBC drivers in W2K

Is there any known problems with having 2 different version of the Oracle ODBC driver installed on one Windows 2000 client? I have the 8.1.7 driver and the 9.2.54 driver installed. When I attempted to set up an ODBC data source for the 8.1.7 driver, I get the following message from "SQORAS32: An unsupported operation was attempted".
How can I figure out what the problem is?

Yes. Perhaps the installs were not performed correctly and need to be re-installed. Is there anything in the registry that I can use to verify? I've been told that it's not possible to have two Oracle ODBC drivers installed at the same time. Is it possible? The older driver is 8.1.7.2. Thanks

Install only the 9i ODBC drivers

Is there a way to have only the 9i ODBC drivers installed? I don't want this user to even have a hint of a chance to explore with the tools like SQL*Plus to the Oracle server. I understand the need to have the Net Configuration Manager installed so that a help desk person can configure the connection but can a custom install for only the ODBC drivers with the Net Configuration Manager work properly?

First, try doing a custom client install where you select only the ODBC drivers. That should, hopefully, install just the ODBC drivers and whatever supporting bits the ODBC drivers need. If that installs a tool like SQL*Plus, you can always delete the executables from the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory (or deny the user permission to them).
A friendly warning that if you're looking to do something like this you probably haven't implemented security properly in the database. Users should be given only the permissions they actually need to do their jobs, and shouldn't have permissions you wouldn't want them using when connected with any tool.

Oracle 11g FREE download installation issues

I am installing this database on an HP Pavilion Desktop
I essentially have TWO (2) issues.
1st ISSUE
I was able to successfully run the setup.exe and my Oracle 11g is now installed.
When I go to start, programs, Oracle, Application Development, SQL Plus
it opens a windown for SQL plus, however, I am not able to do anything.
I followed the install instructions about setting up the ODBC drivers, however I still
can not get this to work. Would also like to know how to set access to this up as a desktop icon.
2nd ISSUE
Acording to the README..for the Oracle Enterprise Edition, I was only required to download

The Oracle Fusion Middleware download V18762-01 they said was OPTIONAL (O)
Because I was having problems with the install where it was coming up with errors about
not finding files, I downloaded ALL the ones from the list which were for 64bit INCLUDING Orcale Fusion Middleware.
Only then did my install work properly.
What I need to know is, on a desktop where I will be the only user,
IS THE ORACLE FUSION MIDDLEWARE REQIRED?
If NOT, and I completed the install, what will happen if I delete that folder (size is 11G)?
Please advise!

Broken Links / Drivers / Downloads

Dear Friends, a few queries
1) For my MSI K8T Neo MS-6702 VER1.0 Motherboard this MSI site http://msicomputer.co.uk/Products.aspx?product_id=703428&cat_id=77 has none of its links for drivers etc working. Where can i get the downloads?
I tried via MSI LIVEUPDATE and :
2) It doesnt have drivers for the onboard Audio
3) AMD CPU and AMD AWAY Driver - do i need these?
4) Should i install the MSI Realtek driver or stick with the windows SP2 one that it installed?
5) What about VIA CHIPSET drivers, do i need them?
6) VIA SATA/IDE Drivers ... is their anyway i can download these spearetly and place onto floppy so that i may use it with my new windows installation?
I was also reading through the stickies esp by tiresmoke and a lot of the links seem to be broken for dowloads, drivers etc. Is there anyway around this?

HT2305 I have a new computer with Windows 8 OS. Do I need to install drivers so that my Ipod Nano will sync with this new computer:

My daughter gave me a new Ipod (Nano) for Christmas. I had no problem download my songs from my old Ipod (Shuffle) to the new one. However - since I do not buy songs on a regular basis, I did not buy a new song until 4/29/13. Now for information...sometime in March my old laptop died, completely. I had to go buy a new one - which I did and this new one has Windows 8 Operating System on it (which I hate, btw).
Now, when I bout a song on Tuesday, the song did not go to my new Ipod. I tried everything and finally had to talk to a tech - who was very kind in helping me and we did get all my songs from Itunes to this new computer. I thought the song I bought would then go on the Ipod - but it did not. I had already hung up from the tech - since we had been talking on the phone for about an hour. He informed me that he was giving me a "courtesy break" because it has been over 90 days since my new Ipod was purchased ---- just my darn luck!
Anyway, I have figured out on my own that the new Ipod Nano is not synced with the new laptop with Windows 8. I have been trying for the last 2 hours to get it to do so and in doing so, found out that Windows 8 is not mentioned in any of the help forums. So...my question is: Do I need to install drivers on the computer or what? I will not be purchasing anymore music from Itunes until I get this matter resolved. Any help will be apreciated. Thank you.

Problem with Installing 8.0.5 ODBC Drivers

I have been having a problem getting the ODBC for the 8.0.5 client. The installation runs fine, I use Net8 Easy Config and setup and running. I setup the datasources and sucessfully "Test" the connection with the login and password. When I go to the MS ODBC control panel, I see the Oracle ODBC, select it and then nothing happens. It just stops setting up the ODBC and MS Access cannot access the server.
Any suggestions

The version is the 8.0.5.10.0 ODBC drivers. I am assisting another user in this process and I do ot have the version info.
What I did was install the 8.0.5.0.0 originally and used the Oracle installer to install the 8.0.5.10.0 ODBC and stepped the user thru the same on his end. After installing the Net8 utility test fine, it's the control panel aplet that fails.
