Need step by step instructions to rebuild HD after fatal crash Pavilion dv6 Product #A1U59AV
Factory installed HD suffered fatal crash - nothing recoverable. Unfortunately cannot clone no image of the old HD is available.
Downloaded and installed Windows Home premium 64 bit iso from digital river but it does not seem to have any drivers. Also it does not seem to let me change the activation code with - right click Computer then properties. I want to rebuild exactly as it came from HP when new. Everything else on the computer seems to work since I have been able install Ubunu from Live CD with no problems.
Please help with step by step instructions how to rebuild. I am also awaiting recovery disks by mail.

Just wait until you get the recovery disks. HP does not make a great many of the apps available to download. If you just want to restore drivers they are here at this website. After a digital river OS install you will need to use the Microsoft phone activation using the Key Code on the sticker. And yes, the digital river disk is generic and might not have drivers you need.

Sure - just reload it from the backup you routinely keep updated on your external hard drive. Ummm...you do keep a backup, right?

In the meantime, get yourself the appropriate 3rd party software (TouchCopy, for example) to work around the iPhone's enforced one-way (computer to iPhone) sync. But remember - the iPhone is not a backup device! -

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. A bootable clone is an exact copy of your drive which is capable of booting your computer. Making a copy of your computer which is capable of actually starting the computer requires special copying procedures which simply dragging files in Finder won't achieve. I am a complete newbie when it comes to adding a barcode to a form, so I need simple step-by-step instructions on how to do it.
I am not familiar with scripting, and am hoping to do most things through the toobars & object detail menus, etc.
I do know how to wrap objects in a sub-form, however.

Form with numerous text fields and a few checkboxes
Need to add a barcode:
Type: Paper Forms Barcode
Symbology: PDF417
Scanning Method: Handheld Scanner
Barcode must capture information from 6 text fields + 1 checkbox

I am using the 'automatic scripting' feature as I don't know scripting.
The barcode displays data from a 'collection' I created by selecting 6 fields.
However, I want the barcode to encode the field information (field name, field data) IN A SPECIFIC ORDER.

Firefox is not enabling me to cut and paste when I'm working on my business website. I can tried the key commands and they didn't work either.
