Help needed to sync new ipad mini to mac 10.5.8

Just got new ipad mini and tried to sync to my mac OS X 10.5.8. Won't allow me to as it says I need the latest version of itunes. The latest version I have is 10.6. and I can't update to the latest version of itunes as I need to have OS X 10.6 mac. How do I get round this? Thanks for any suggestions offered.

It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

Before I start I have searched for the answers via Google but I'm still getting maybe type results.
Can OSX automatically map drives to a Windows server/NAS when the user logs in?
Can OSX maintain the shares when users fast switch between accounts on the same iMac?
Will OSX reconnect to the mapped drive when coming out of sleep/suspend mode?
I'm not talking AD (Active Directory) just Windows Work Group authentication.
For me this could be a deal breaker if OSX can't do the above.

We have cifs file servers at work, I have no problem connecting to them. To make an automatic connection at login, first time you connect, check the "remember password" checkbox and then drag the mounted server icon into your login items in System Preferences > Accounts > your account. Personally, I like dragging the connected share icon onto the dock, then I have a single-click user/password-less dynamic mount as needed, when needed, rather than always autoconnecting at login whether I need it or not.

seems to -- I slept my computer when I had a cifs drive mounted -- upon awakening, it was like my cifs mount never left.

I don't know much about that, my work is a Windoze World and I don't even know if I have to worry about that -- they haven't been by to integrate me into AD, yet, though, although they keep threatening to do so, if they ever get all their other Windows network problems fixed. http://ifelix.net/tech might have some info that might be helpful to you insofar as file sharing between other Windows clients and printing to Windows print servers. Not for the latest OSs of each though, but some of the older OS-pairings are pretty well documented there.

What exactly are you trying to do? Bookmarks can be opened in tabs, a list of web pages can be opened, etc. If you are wanting to do something like get a bunch of links from a web page somewhere and then just touch the linked pages, an AppleScript action can be written to step through each item in the list (wherever you are getting the links from) and set the URL of the front document, otherwise you will wind up with a whole bunch of windows or tabs. There may also be page load timing issues if you are wanting to open them one at a time, so it would help to have some clarification.

If they are Photoshop files, just place them on a FAT or FAT32 formatted Flash drive. Both the Mac and PC can recognize the drive.
Make sure your files have an extension .jpg/.png/.psd and so on.
Photoshop Mac or PC can open the files.

Going by your profile your Mac has v10.5.8 installed. That is the most recent version available for Leopard.
You may be able to upgrade to v10.6 Snow Leopard > Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications
Snow Leopard is available for purchase from the Apple online store > Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.)
With Snow Leopard installed, iTunes would be updated for you.

IPod Formatting Question....New Mac Computer...

i just ordered a new macbook, my first mac computer, yay! i have a 30g iPod Classic-Video. I have put music on it using both my old PC and 3 of my friends Macs. My iPod is Windows formatted. Do I need to change anything when I get my new Mac? Will the Ipod be fine staying in Windows format? i am thinking of trying to use one of the third party programs to put my iPod music onto my new computer but I am nervous about losing the music i collected on my iPod.
