Water spilled onto macbook - Need emergency help now, please!

Hello,
Last night about one cup of water spilled onto my macbook. Basically, it shut down and I made the mistake of trying to turn it on (multiple times).
It is now dry, but it still will not turn on. I do not have apple care, but I still do have a limited warranty.
My question is: what are my options? I need it repaired a.s.a.p. I know everybody says this, but I really do need it for college.
Anyway, again, what is the best option? Can I mail it it for them to fix? What NEEDS to be fixed? If I take it to an apple store (the nearest is about 300 miles away), can they fix it (and on the spot)? How much should this cost?

You can call Apple service. They will have to see it before they can quote a repair price. Not sure what country your in but if it is the US you could also try http://www.macservice.com/macbook.html, They will check it out and give you a quote and they are usually cheaper than Apple on most repairs. You can also do a search for MacBook Repairs and find numerous other sources for repair that may be very close to where you live.

Need tech help to fill in forms on iPad 4

I have an iPAD 4. I RECEIVED A form from a client that needs to be filled out and returned.
I have Adobe reader and Acrobat, I saw on Acrobat that I need to purchase something called Export pdf for iOs etc. which I don't understand. Is this what I need to be able to convert the form and type on it. Or is this something that allows me to make up a form, type on it and then send it out? I need a program that allows me to type on forms or contracts that customers send me.....HELP....I NEED IT LIKE YESTERDAY. THX IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP I CAN GET...ASAP

You don't need ExportPDF to fill in a form.
You can download Adobe Reader from the App Store on your iPad. It lets you fill out forms. Then you can email the filled out form by using the Share button. Good luck.

Need Tech Help

I am trying to install Linux-Mandrake without repartitioning my harddisk on my HP Pavilion notebook. It runs Windows ME and the cdrom wont boot normally so I downloaded onto floppy the bootdisk they tell you to if it doesnt boot normally and this still doesn't work. I tried it on my desktop and it worked(although i stopped because I want Linux on the notebook)
What am I doing wrong?

I tried to load mandrake on my Pavilion desktop and when I got to the partioning part it just froze but I did read the provided manuel and it talked about some bios settings that you may need unfortunetly when I looked on my Pavilion's bios setup the setting didn't exist but look in the book anyway

Need tech help creating project with PE11, Windows 7

I still need help creating a slideshow set to music for DVD playback at my 50th high school reunion.
Video Media = 700 still images in .jpg or .tff format. Pixel sizes range from 200x200 to over 3000x4000.
I first created this project using PE's presets and original image sizes. Images added to PE were more blurred than originals & images burned to DVD were even more blurred so I asked for advice.
Last week several people in the forum tried to help. I really appreciate everyone's suggestions but would still appreciate further advice.
Forum experts said to restart my project with project settings changed to DV 720x480...and to resize my images to 1000x750 pixels. Then today in a PE11 chat session, I was told something different: use project settings changed to DVD 720p 30 and resize only larger images down to 1280 x 720 (leave smaller images alone).
So what project settings and resizing should I use for better image clarity? How do I change project settings? By clicking on "new" under "file" >change project settings >DVD 720p 30 or something else?

Up-rezzing small Still Images, regardless of the program and the Scaling algorithm used, can lead to a diminished quality. As Steve says, pixels are created, where none existed. I try to stay away from up-rezzing, whenever possible, due to that diminished qualtiy.
If I have to work with very small Images, I often use another workflow, and a different asethetic choice. When faced with the prospect of using small Images, I will create a background of some sort (many options here), and then use that small Image at its original size, "framed" within that background - no Scaling involved, but obviously, that small Image will not fill the screen. The viewer usually has fewer problems with the small Image, than one that is larger, but has started to fall apart, due to the up-rezzing.
One "trick" that I use is to use that small Image AS the background, but alter it greatly, probably dropping its contrast and upping its brightness, and even adding a Blur to it, then do a PiP (Picture in Picture) of the Image at its original size. I might even create a "picture frame" in Photoshop, to really set that small Image apart from the background. That is but one of dozens of such possible treatments, and one is only limited by their imagination.
Another possible treatment would be to do a "photo wall" with several of the small Images in say a 3 x 2 matrix of PiP's. Sort of like a Contact Sheet.

Need desperate help, now sure where to put this

I have a Zenworks 10.3 server that was running fine...all of a sudden, it says database will not start. I reboot and stopped and started database manually I THINK bu going to CL and typing:
/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure -c Start
I chose ZEN database and stopped and starting it, about 2 minutes later I get an error, and it says use dbsupport to virw it, but I cannot seem to invole this tool from the CL...anways, if anyone has any suggestion, I would GREATLY appreciate it as of right now I am dead in the water. PS- I do not have a zman back up....I am hopeing I can look at the log and rescue this db...I am open to suggestions....

Whatever you do, backup the files before doing anything else.
Most Likely the Transaction Log is corrupt.
Do you have a recent database backup?
If so, I would recommend restoring it.
If not, you may be able to start the database without the transaction log.
Here are some tips for an older version of Sybase that still generally

CS5 no longer loads: preferences file is invalid. [was: need tech help]

My copy of CS 5 no longer loads. get a message stating ".... could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file is invalid 9 it was deleted ) " how do I fix this ????

If its just that the Preference files are corrupt you can have Photoshop Delete them and generate a new set. Start PS an immediately press and hold Ctrt+Alt+Shift reply yes to Photoshop Prompt about deleting your preferences.

I just found a way to recover Lenovo S2110/Vodafone Smart tab II 10 from bootloop.

BUT coming from an original Vodafone firmware I've lost 3g with the "SIM card not found" error.
After checkign partitions details and finding that the /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 is the modem, I've got it extracted from the original Vodafone firmware and replaced on my system, but nothing...still can't find the SIM card!
Is there someone with deeper technical knowledge that can give me any advice and suggestion ?

Yesterday night loaded my iphone 5 with a charger that was not original apple. At 5 in the morning I want to set the time and I did not walk me iphone was only black screen, tried the button "home" and sleep and not react. What I can do?

Try charging it with the correct charger. If you cannot get it to work then make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

Need tech help for MSI VGA Fan controller for gtx 780 SLI

Just curios how to get the VGA Fan controller to work on the 2nd card that's in SLI? I can get the 2 fans to run 100% with afterburner but the middle one wont on the 2nd card? Thanks!

I have the same problem.
On GTX 780 Lightning, Afterburner will control both cards 90mm fans. Afterburner will not control the middle fan (fan 2).
The MSI fan controller will only control one card, not both. I think there was a major oversight here. They either weren't thinking anyone would SLi GTX 780 Lightning when they made the fan controller or its horribly broken. In my case Rakunvar, my bottom card (PCI-E slot 5) is controlled while the top card (PCI-E slot 2) is ignored.
I heard somewhere, they plan to fix Afterburner so it will correctly work with the 780 lightning. It seems to me they put the MSI fan controller in the box with the GTX 780 Lightning because they must've known that the current beta Afterburner wouldn't control the middle fan.

You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com.
