Need the ability to export rule file field mappings

Hi. I have a number of rule files that have a large number of field mappings (i.e. the Replace -> With options on the Global Properties tab). I was just wondering if anyone has found a way to export these to excel or similar.

So I've got a project I've been working on, and at this point I only want to export a specific section on it. From what I can tell, I can no longer export that specific footage. Is this really the case, and what the heck am I supposed to do? I tried to copy to another project, but my title sequence didn't come with it.

You could also select the part you want, do a COPY, then open a new project, PASTE, then export.
I didn't use iMovie 5 through '06, but as I recall in v4, you never had the ability to export a selection of a project, just clips. So if the part you wanted only was part of clips (and not the whole clip(s)) then you had to COPY then paste to make it a new whole clip before you could export it.

File to IDOC ( need advise on how to map file fields )

Hello friends,
I spent quite some time reading all the helpful blogs and threads regarding File to Idoc scenario. However I had a very basic question ( maybe its trivial as I am just new to XI).
In my scenario I have Bank Master data (in a CSV file) and it does not correspond exactly to Bank Master IDOC structure BANK_CREATE01.
I understand that I will need to use File adapter to get this file into XI and then use an IDOC adapter to send it to R/3. (Pl correct me if I am wrong)
Now when I use file adapter, how will I do the data mapping. I mean do I need to create a structure which corresponds to file fields and then XI will automatically load my file fields into this structure and then I can use this structure to map fields to IDOC.
My only issue seems to be how will I see the FLAT FILE data in XML FORM in XI.
To explain it further my CSV file looks like
"GB,123456,11223344,GBP, London,.."
where
GB corresponds to country,
123456 corresponds to Bank key,
112233445566 corresponds to Bank account,
GBP is currency and so on
So should I create a data type maintaining same sequence of fields above without using any hierarchy like in the IDOC.
If this is not possible then will I need to transform my input file exactly into IDOC structure and then use it.
Hope I have manged to explain it.

First of all The CSV file has to be changed in to an XML file , To achieve this File Content Conversion has to be done.Once this is done, please make the following changes in R/3 and PI to push Idoc in to PI.
Configuration required at Xi side:
Go to IDX1: configure the port.
Go to IDX2: load the DOC metadata.
Go to SM59: Create RFC destination which points to R3 system this is require in the case where your IDOC is sent to R 3 system,
Configiration required at R3 side:
Maintain Logical System for PI (SALE transaction):
Maintain Partner Profile for XI system(WE20):

I would like to see the ability to export/import chapter lists

I use Encore CS3. I use an external mpeg-2 encoder to create my M2Vs. I usually make 2 M2Vs, one for single layer disks and one for Dual layer disks.
- so I have 2 M2V files, both the same length but one has a higher bitrate than the other.
In the timeline in Encore, if I delete a video, the chapter points are deleted with it.
All I want is a feature where I can export the Encore chapters as a file, then import or apply the chapter file onto a different timeline

Remove quotes from the data when building rule file

I get double quotes in one of the field in the file. e.g. Part descirpiton as inches. I have to join part number and part descrption to create one field and create level 0 dimension. When I try to replace " with space after joining the two fields, it does not replace the quotes. If I replace it first and then join the fields, it gives me error "The field type for this field is not valid for the build method associated with this field's dimension."
What am I doing wrong?

A double quote is one of the problem children of Essbase. If this is coming in from SQL, you could do a replace on the character to remove it. If it is a flat file, if it is always in the same location, you could split the field on the character and ignore it. It has been a long time since I've had to deal with the problem, but I think I ran my file through some preprocessing to remove it.

I lost the ability to drag & drop files from the finder to dreamweaver

I recently upgraded to OSX Maverick and I lost the ability to drag and drop files to dreamweaver.
Is there a setting that I am unaware that restores this functionality?

Enabling the ability to uncheck QT file associations in Default Programs

I have Windows 7 here, and it comes with this nice little utility that lets you set the default programs for various file types (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Set Program Associations). When I select Quicktime, there are various boxes that I can check, but there are also various boxes that are pre-checked. I would like to uncheck them, but they are greyed out. How can I uncheck them?
I hope Apple engineers understand the absurdity of having a specific tool for setting file type associations, and them making that tool unable to set file type associations. It sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it?
For the record, I am administrator and UAC is disabled.

File associations are a mess right now. Many programs (Opera included) handle them their own way. There's a project underway to handle associations in a standard way (see MIME actions, shared MIME info, desktop entries, all at freedesktop.org), but not all software uses it; KDE is a notable holdout (3 at least, not sure about 4).
Note that that first spec link, MIME actions, is currently "in the requirements-gathering / early-planning stages." That means there is no spec for that. As I said, a mess.
Most likely, Opera and Thunderbird detected you were running KDE and special-cased their association-finder to ask KDE instead. Now that you aren't, they're falling back to their normal behavior: use the first .desktop file to claim the MIME type. As I recall, both applications offer ways to specify associations in their preferences; you might just want to stick to that for now. Or use a desktop environment.
The kernel-level MIME support is designed to allow execution of strange files using interpreters. For example, you could directly execute Windows applications (as in "./notepad.exe") by setting the kernel to "interpret" application/exe files using wine. No applications use it for opening files.

Needs the table from which "project definition" field is to be extracted

As a requirement in BW, we have to add the new field project definition in the BW cube 0COOM_C02(description of the cube:- CO-OM: Costs and Allocations Project (Delta Extraction)).For this, we have to add the same in all the data sources related to this cube.
Data sources under this cube are:
0CO_OM_CCA_9 (Cost Centers: Actual Costs Through Delta Extraction)
Take any one of the data source and search that in the R/3 side tcode RSA6, double click and you will find the entire structure (fields) for that data source.Double click the extract structure appearing above it to find the technical details of each field.
Now we have to add the field project definition in the data source.For extracting the same, we have to write the logic which will extract the value of project field from a table.
We dont have any problem in writing the code but
Our requirement is that during coding, from which table we should extract the value ? and also on what basis?(means what should be the selecting criteria for populating that field) .

I don't need the thousands of foreign language files. How do I NOT install them?

Why does Adobe insist on barfing thousands of files on the hard drive when many aren't needed by most users. I'm not saying specific ones aren't needed period. I just don't have a need for them. Someone that doesn't speak my language may not need mine. Why are we forced to fill the drive up with this and what is the method for NOT installing them?

But, in general (it has been awhile since I installed CS5 Master Collection, so I don't remember the exact screens) you need to actually read the options on the screen
If you accept the "default" install option, you get just that... if you want a custom install where YOU choose the options, you need to select that and check, or un-check, according to your needs

All the PG.xml files are placed under $APPL_TOP/mds(ex:oracle/bne/11.5.0/mds/pageflow/webui/BneCreateDocPage)

Why have I lost the ability to print pdf files?

All of a sudden I can't print pdf files. The print screen shows a blank file and it prints blank, of course.

This doesn't sound like it is a FornsCentral issue unless you have this problem only with PDF generated from FormsCentral.
Let me know if that is the case. Otherwise you should ask your question on the Acrobat or Reader forum
