Need the newest flash player for imac osx 10.4.11
Hi, I have an iMac OSX 10.4.11 & everything I used to use won't work because it tells me to update my flash player to version 10. But when I try, it says that it's not supported by my operating system. I can't upgrade the system, I have no budget for that. I don't know what to do. I need a flash player that will make things work for me again, but I can't upgrade, what do I do?
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.

A lot of people are reporting this today. Can you check whether it works in Firefox's Safe Mode (with add-ons disabled)?
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, try starting Firefox in

Does YouTube work in that mode? If so, one of your add-ons, particularly one in the Extensions category, is a prime suspect. -

In short;
been running Win 8 Pro 64-bit for a couple of days now. Decided it was time to try out some software so installed a trial of Fix It Utilities Professional (bad decision).
Installed it, played around for a bit and after a while I came up with the brilliant idea of running a registry clean/fix (insert facepalm) and some overall clean-up, just curious
to seel the results.
Being stupid and feeling lazy, cleaned everything and didn't create a backup. Everything seemed fine afterwards. Only the internal flash player for IE 10 dissapeared
from the Add-ons list, hence the plugin itself stopped working.I've tried everything I think I've tried all the help options I could find on the Adobe site, but nothing seems to work (un-install tool,
delete files and folders, IE's security settings back to default, checked ActiveX status and permissons, reset all data and settings for IE10 etc) Something must have been modified in the registry
but I'm just unable to locate the problem. I also installed the latest beta for Chrome and that's working like a charm, no problems at all and the performance is great.
So this is the error I receive:
I'm kinda stuck now; the installer won't let me installl it because IE has a built in plugin, but it's not working in IE. It's not even visible in the add-on menu.
I know it was a pretty stupid thing to do, but I still hope someone here knows what to do. I;m kinda running out of ideas/options (not going to edit the registry myself, because you can

the last thing I can think of is that OpenOffice and Windows Live Messenger also use flash, if i'm correct. E.g. in the OpenOffice folder there is a flash.dll file. Could these files be of real
influence?

I do not have Windows 8 / IE10, so I don't know anything about it.
You may have to wait until US daytime; maybe someone from the Adobe staff knows the answer. But you may be better off asking in a IE10 forum.

recently certain video or pictorial attachments to my e-mails be opened because the system requires the installation of the Adobe Flash player with Java plug-ins. The message also gives a link for installation. It appears to install but nothing really happens. Then the message advises that it will install automatically once security is uninstalled or when Firefox is off. Nothing seems to work. Please help. P.S. I've been trying to find the right flash player to install on my mac osx 10.5.8 using safari. I can't play video on youtube or facebook because it says im missing plug-in. This issue keeps coming up. I have in the past few months uninstalled the version i had and installed an older version of flash 10.1 but then that stopped working a few days ago, and now nothing works. I have tried uninstalling old versions,and searched every forum about this but i cant find an answer.Does anybody have an answer to this issue?

I downloaded the newest flash player 10..... but it wont work? why?
when i go to a site that needs this newer flash player it says that i need to download the most recent. but i already did? i have ie windows 7. anybody having the same problem? this problem just occured about 2 days ago.

I am getting very confused with emails from your forum. I started receiving 60-70 emails from forum support each day and from all different subject lines than my original question. The above was not my original question either. Most refer to different issues and different operation systems than mine. My original question was "Is updated Adobe 10.2.159.1 and FF4 compatible?"
Is Pat handling my problem now? Why am I receiving all of these emails from him with different subject lines?
The last few request I received from you were to go to Tools,Help,get version #. I replied there was no help button in tools menu. I looked everywhere I could think, sent you what I could find, but, now I don't think my reply was correct. I did not look for the Kill-bit Key email from Pat because he was replying to someone else and copying me. I am sorry, but, I think I may have deleted his instructions on how to do it, because I did not realize he was asking me also. Again, the subject was different than my question.
I am so sorry for being so stupid about computers, but, all I ever had to use them for was work and personal. Internet browsing was mainly used to play Pogo and Facebook and occasionally check out a web-site.
I have not been able to go into the registry and find a log from Malware System. I see Malware progam listed, went into each file, the only thing I can find is licensing files and such. I cannot find a log of my scan.
I didn't follow your request to go to web address, install Malware & update yet until I hear back. I told you sometime last week that I had installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, per an email from your Forum support. I ran a full scan and found email worm and followed their instructions to quarantine. Should it be deleted instead? If so, sorry again, but, you will have to tell me how. I had always quarantined per my programs instruction. Found the following about email worm:

My version of Malwarebytes is version1.50.1.1100. Is this old? Should I go to web site and download again?

I am participating the the original thread, but "eidnolb" suggested i start a new one since my setup is slightly different.
To sumarize, I have turned off my anti virus, unistalled the latest version, rebooted, installed the latest version from the desktop Adobe installer, rebooted and checked for the latest version at the Adobe site and found that it was not installed at all, although the Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX shows as an active program on my Control Panel. No error messages either in the uninstall or install. Also, Shockware Flash Object does not show on my Manage Add In Tool. I have done this same process many times with no success. Additionally, i have looked in my Registry and the Kill Bit Key posted in the other thread by eidnolb (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}) is not there.
System specifics. VISTA OS. McAfee Anti Virus and Firewall. IE7 but I also dowloaded IE9 with the same negative result. I went back to IE7 with the idea of resetting the system in it's original form which came with the HP computer. (is this a good idea)
I believe this started when my system was contaminated by the E-Set Antivirus 2011 malware. This nasty beast hijacked my IE and protects itself so that I could do nothing. Used my laptop and Googled the malware which resulted in several sites offering solutions. I went to bleepingcomputer.com and followed their instructions for getting rid of the malware. This included starting in "safe mode with networking" downloading a program call RKill to temporaily disable the malware and then downloading and running Malwarebytes Anti Malware. This program cleaned the malware from the PC. However, i don't know what it did to the registry, but I believe that's where the problem is. There is a paper published by Adobe at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html which describes the symptoms i've encoutered and describes a Microsoft process to reset the registry. i'm hesitant to try it since an error would likely cause some really serious problems and i'm not an IT guy
