Need to Apply validation to Address Line1 in Self Service HR

Hi all,
Currently user is able to enter any no. of characters in Address Line1 through Self Service HR (ie. web). We would like to resctrict user to enter not more than 20 Chars in Address Line1.
Could anyone please let me know whats the best method to have this done.
Thanks,
Nagesh

Hi Nagesh,
Employee personal address comes from the DFF called "Personal Address Information" Select the Localization Address which you are using from Context Field Value, select the segment and check under Address Line one and set the value set to 20 Characters (Mandator).
Note: this does not require any personalization.
I hope this helps you.

  • Provide self-service user with information about his/her VM? IP address at a minimum?

    Just setup a private cloud using VMM 2012 Sp1 as well as app controller 2012 SP1 fresh installs on Server 2012.  Since it's a lab, app con is installed on VMM server.
    I have the cloud and templates and service templates and self service working as well as an IP pool handing out IPs.  I was wondering if there was a relatively simple way to provide at least the IP address of the self-service provisioned VM to the self-service
    user who requested it, preferably through the app con site somehow.
    There's 2 reasons behind this:
    1.  I'd like to avoid having them console in, get the IP, and then log out and RDP in.  I'd prefer they just RDP directly to the IP the first time and go about their day.
    2.  Our DNS is not MS and does not allow auto registering, so connecting via RDP through the app controller site doesn't work because the FQDN is not reachable after VM is provisioned.
    Any way to get that info easily to the user?

    Hi C. Baum,
    App Controller doesn't have the ability to provide the IP address of virtual machines.
    My recommendation is to have the name of the virtual machine register in DNS -- its much easier for most people to deal with hostnames rather than IP addresses.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard

  • I have just updated my iphone4 and now I can't download any apps, its saying I need a valid US address?? any how much appreciated.

    Any helpful suggestions to explain why I can't download any apps will be appreciated.
    Its saying I need a valid US address I live in Australia? dont know why its asking that.

    You can only access the Store of that country your account is registered for. Did you buy the apps using the same account? If you have a billing address registered in Australia, you can't buy in the US Store.
    Can you update the apps in iTunes on your computer?
    Did you log into your iTunes account and check your info?

  • TS3212 You must enter a valid email address while reviewing new account information

    I have just recently set up an iTunes account.  When I try to go to the iTunes store I am receiving message that I have not used this ID yet and must review my info.  When I go to review my info it keeps telling me I must enter a valid email address.  What gives here?  Have been trying to get in for 2 hours.  Ridiculous!

    If you have been looking at these discussion pages for a while (even though you have only just created an ID for them), you would know that it's the question that needs to be asked.
    If you would have had the same problem as the original poster you would know that the question is valid. I have the sam problem and I know that there is no such valid email address that qualifies.
    If the (most obvious) answer to your question is yes, what is the contribution of your post to this topic? It would be nice to post the answer to both options. That is if you them.
    What you think is the possibility to try to fill the apple id field for two hours and not even by accident fill in a string that is a valid email address. Let me assure you that if someone tries to fill a field for two hours he will try everything that fits. Including an email address.
    Luckily I found a solution to this problem elsewhere although I don't know if it can be applied on a Windows machine. The solution I found was this:

    You might want to rethink your thoughts about making transferring authority easier.  Making it too easy would certainly degrade your account's security.  If you still believe it should be easier, you can send feedback directly to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
    You will not get a response, but you can be certain that the responsible Apple people will see your input for consideration in FaceTime product development.

    It might be logical to someone, but not to me. I agree it's a pain.
    How did you change your Apple ID? Creating a new one is not what you want to do, but if you changed the ID associated with your purchases then that might have worked. You would need to sign in with the Apple ID on both your iPod Touch as well as in iTunes. I'm not sure how you changed it but clearly they need to match.
    If it's just your password that is not getting recognized reset it here: http://iforgot.apple.com/
    It will send an email confirmation to the email address associated with that Apple ID. The email address you elect to use might not look anything like your Apple ID. If you don't appear to get an email check your spam filter.

  • Time Capsule does not have a valid IP address

    We have 2 computers in our home office: a Win 7 desktop and an iMac.
    We have cable internet; the cable modem (Toshiba PCX2500) is plugged (ethernet) directly into the Time Capsule, which we use as our router to the two computers (also by ethernet).
    The wireless functionality of the Time Capsule has been turned off.
    We’ve been using the Time Capsule like this for the past 18 months (we purchased it new) without any problems.
    Last month, however, we began losing our internet connection regularly (about 3-4 times per day) and getting the dreaded golden flashing light (as opposed to solid green) along with the error (paraphrasing here) “the Apple Wi-Fi does not have a valid IP address.”
    We hadn’t made any changes in our hardware; it just showed up out of the blue.
    After contacting our ISP, we were advised to unplug the cable modem for about 30 seconds, then plug it back it. Most of the time this worked; if not, we had to “cycle” the Time Capsule as well.
    We’re now having to do this about 4-5 times per day.
    Sometimes the Time Capsule’s status light is still green when we have no internet connection. Out of the blue the connection just isn’t there.
    We “cycle” the cable modem and we’re back in business every time.
    Additionally, when we actually do have an internet connection, the speeds fluctuate wildly. We’re paying for 15 Mb service; as of the past 4-5 weeks, we get 15Mb about 50% of the time. The other 50% it generally averages between 3Mb and 6Mb.
    The ISP’s tech support (we’ve contacted them no less than once a week since this started) swears up and down that it’s the router, not their signal or their equipment in any way. They deny all culpability.
    We even had the ISP’s repair people come out on an occasion about 10 days ago to test the signal strength; they reported no problems. “You’ve got great signal strength to your home…” were the exact words.
    Similarly, after calling Apple on 2-3 occasions, we get the exact same response: “It’s not the Time Capsule router, it’s your ISP.”
    The last Apple technician we spoke with (yesterday) said, “I’ve been doing wireless/Internet tech support for years and I can guarantee you – 100% -- that it’s a ‘DNS caching’ issue. I’m 100% positive that’s your problem, and I’m also 100% positive it’s your ISP’s fault.”
    After contacting the ISP again we were informed that they don’t have any such caching problems.
    We’re tired and frustrated! Please help.

    I would suggest running the network via a pc for the day.. pick either your Mac or win7 pc.. you will need to do a bit of fiddling.. even better would be to just borrow a router. Or buy one on a 7day return .. !! Beg borrow.. don't steal. Just get a router other than TC. it won't take long to determine if the TC is the issue.
    IMO at 18months you are suffering failure of the TC power supply. early days but it is showing signs of delinquency. And will get worse. But another router will show it up.. if the PC has dual ethernet cards you can run ICS.. or same sort of thing on the imac to the wireless .. ie the PC or Mac becomes the router with direct connection to the cable modem. Then share internet from there.
    Once you do that for a day or two, you will quickly be able to track down if the issue is cable service/modem or the TC as router.

  • "" does not appear to be a valid email address. Verify the address and try again.

    I am getting this error whenever I copy an email address from somewhere and paste it into the 'To' field.
    “” does not appear to be a valid email address. Verify the address and try again.
    Whattup with that?
    Only way to get around it seems to be either typing the whole address in (uh!) or clicking on the email address and letting Mail create the new message. Both are not the way I need to do things and it used to work perfectly in Snow Leopard, as would be expected for such a basic sort of command.

    I had the same problem with multiple adressess:
    I used the " ; "  as a seperator.
    The message was sent with no trouble at all as soon as I used the " , " (comma) instead.
    Hope this helps

  • How do I get a valid IP address for airport express?

    I am trying to set up my airport express.  All the steps work fine except for when I get to the end it says I need a valid IP address for airport.  Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm not sure what you're trying to set up here? Are you trying to set up the AX to provide wireless access to the internet, or to extend an existing network?????

  • Need to apply payment for delivered items only, not full down payment

    Version: (8.8 PL18)
    Description of requirements: (Be able to handle the right amount of down payment when we copy a sales order to an invoice and there is a back order for some items. It actually works fine when we go on an invoice and we copy from a sales order, the system handles correctly the down payment amount when there is a back order. )
    Valid as of: (29/07/2011)
    Business needs: (They need to apply only the part of the payment for the delivered quantities, not ALL the payment.  In addition, the risk of errors to choose the wrong order is higher when you use the u2018copy fromu2019 function)
    Examples: (When you create a sales order with a down payment and you copy this document to an invoice and there is a back order, the amount of down payments should be adjusted according to the back order as it works now for the u2018copy fromu2019 function)
    Current Workaround:
    (We use the u2018Copy fromu2019 function.)
    Proposed solution:
    (The u2018Copy tou2019 function should work exactly as the u2018Copy fromu2019 function)

    It's not just a licensing requirement. Without the RIKLA you cannot make Reader plug-ins at all. Adobe will vet your proposal and decide if they will permit it, and what license fee you will pay.

  • Cannot get a valid IP address for Airport

    I bought a fitness tracker which uses a USB device to wirelessly upload data.
    Since plugging it in and installing their software on my MacBook Pro, I can no longer obtain a valid IP address on either a broadcast wireless SSID or a non-broadcase secure (WPA2 Enterprise) wireless network.
    I deleted the fitness tracker device from the network configurations, deleted the Airport from Network and added it back and removed the SystemConfiguration folder from Library/Preferences, rebooted and still have the same problem.
    Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can get the Airport back to normal?
    I did contact tech support at the fitness device company on Friday, but no response yet.
    I really need to be able to use the wireless when mobile.

    It finally seems to be working.

  • Validating email address - please help?

    hi,
    i have registration form in jsf, and i have a field for an email address, i was wandering if anyone knows how to validate the email address, when this is submitted to a javabean, to make sure it is an actual valid email address and that both email addresses ( re-entered ) entered are the same.
    so what i really want is the javacode for the javabean that can validate the email address to make sure it is valid.
    any help is appreciated
    thanks.

    Here's how I did a Postal code validation:
    public void validatePostalCode(FacesContext context, UIComponent toValidate, java.lang.Object inputValue) throws
    ValidatorException {
    Pattern pattern;
    String expression = "\\D{1}\\d{1}\\D{1}\\d{1}\\D{1}\\d{1}"; // x9x9x9
    String value = null;
    try {
    value = inputValue.toString();
    pattern = Pattern.compile(expression);
    this.postalCodeValidationError = !pattern.matcher(value).matches();
    } catch (ClassCastException e) {
    throw new ValidatorException(
    new FacesMessage(
    "Validation Error: Value " +
    "cannot be converted to String.",
    null));
    if (this.postalCodeValidationError) {
    // Here you do what ever you want when the validation fails
    // Like generating an error in JSF ... see ValidatorException
    On your JSP page add "validator="#{yourBean.validatePostalCode}"" to your inputText tag.
    It would be a good idea to read on Java's regular expression stuff to fihure out the expression you need to pass to Pattern.compile(expression) in order to validate the email address.
    Hope this help. Cheers

  • I need to change the "from" address (the "add to addressbook" address) in the first line of emails that I send. How do I do this?

    I need to change the "from" address (the "add to addressbook" address) in the first line of emails that I send so that people reply to my email alias not the address where my emails originate. How do I do this?

    So you have added a new 'Identity' to your existing email address.
    If someone sends an email using that 'other identity'
    you have a choice of where those received emails can go. they can be received into the original mail account, like a collect all in the one Inbox or perhaps sent to Local Folders, so you can see them as separate. Or you can filter on that identity to put those emails in a specific folder.
    When you REply to any incoming mail that has used that new identity email address, it will use the new identity in the Email address in FROM assuming the received email in the main mail account of which the new identity email is applied.
    This should also now offer the added identity email address as an option in the FROM drop down list. So you can easily swap when sending an email if required.
    If you want to send using your default email address to people, but want their reply to use the identity email address:
    Tools > Account Settings
    select the original email address mail account name
    Where it says: 'Reply to addresses: enter the reply to identity email address.
    click on OK
    This means when they click on 'Reply' it will auto insert the Reply-to option.
    This will work providing it is a 'Reply' to an email you sent which contains the Reply-to email address.
    If someone is not actually replying by using the Reply-to new identity email address:
    In other words they are sending you a new email using the original email address because perhaps that is the one in their address book or the one they located on a webpage etc.
    Then, when you select to Reply to that email, it will use the email address to which it was sent to in the FROM field - the original email address. Hence why you would need to select the new identity FROM in the drop down list.
    One way to get around this is set out below.
    If you do not use an identity - instead you create another existing mail account for the 'identity' email address, so you have two mail accounts for the two email addresses.
    You can move selected emails manually or perhaps using a filter to screen them from the original mail account into the newly created mail account.
    Then when you click on Reply, it will use the new mail account email address instead of the original email address.

  • Validating IP address

    I need to validate an IP address through a Develop 6i Forms application.
    Rules are:
    1. w.x.y.z where w, x, y and Z between 0-255
    2. Their has to be a valid format
    of type w.x.y.z where w,x,y and z
    are all integers.
    Are there any built-in functions to perform such checks. If any one has created such a
    function, can you share the information.
    null

    OK... I'm not getting drawn into a war on this. I will just point out that RFC790 is about Assigned Numbers and doesn't say how an IP address MUST be formatted. It does mention that IP addresses are 32 bits long and divided into network and local portions. It then goes on to say:
    One notation for internet host addresses commonly used divides the 32-bit address into four 8-bit fields and specifies the value of each field as a decimal number with the fields separated by periods. For example, the internet address of ISIF is 010.020.000.052.
    This notation will be used in the listing of assigned network numbers.
    Notice that this is just one common notation and is the one that they select to represent address on the Assigned Numbers list.

  • Can't Get Valid IP Address

    I have a cable DSL Modem that runs into a Netgear five port hub. I have two brand new extreme base stations plugged into the hub.
    One base station works fine. The other cannot obtain a valid IP Address but was working fine until I plugged the other base station into the hub. Is there a problem with running two base stations off the hub ? Why can't I obtain a valid IP Address ?

    You have several choices. Each base station needs to be configured as a bridge so that the Linksys (if you go that route) will provide both NAT & DHCP services for all the devices (wired or wireless) connected to your home network.
    You can either set up a roaming network or each base station can have its own network. I recommend that later since you have a mix of clients to attach to them. For example, you can set up the 802.11n base station to operate on "n" only mode for speed, and the AXs would (of course) be 802.11g to support older clients. (ref: Designing AirPort Networks Using AirPort Utility)
    I have an old imac in the house that seems to only have WEP security settings. Should I use WEP on the wireless network or can I upgrade that computer's settings ?
    I strongly suggest using WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal as WEP is no longer considered secure.
    Here are the minimum requirements for either WPA or WPA2...
    Minumum Requirements for WPA
    o AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) w/firmware 5.5, or
    o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) w/firmware 7.0, or
    o AirPort Express Base Station (AX) w/firmware 6.1
    o AirPort Extreme Card or AirPort Card clients running Mac OS X 10.3 or later
    o AirPort for Mac or AirPort for Windows 3.3
    Minimum Requirements for WPA2
    o AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) w/firmware 5.7, or
    o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) w/firmware 7.0, or
    o AirPort Express Base Station (AX) w/firmware 6.3
    o AirPort Extreme Card clients running Mac OS X 10.3 or later
    o AirPort for Mac or AirPort for Windows 4.2 or AirPort Utility 5.0
