Need to arrange an appointment with Openreach

After a long series of very complicated and frustrated problems I'm finally at the point where there is a recognised fault on my line. The fault report said that an engineer would have this resolved by the 18th (with the original report being from the 2nd) but I had a phonecall today telling me that I need to contact BT to arrange a date for the engineer to come into my house (they can't arrange this themselves for some reason). Please tell me I don't have to call faults...

I also had a fault over the weekend and needed/wanted to talk to the engineers. My house does not have the set-up detailed on India's checklist so they finally said they were unable to help unless I agreed to a visit which could cost me £99. I refused as their tests had shown the fault was on the exchange. I have spoken with the engineer in the past but was told I couldn't even talk to someone in the UK. This is unacceptable. It is not the fault of the operator that he cannot understand I do not have a master socket, nor one by the front door,
I have just tried to suggest that it would be in their interest to come free oif charge to put in a master socket to make it easier in the future but now the fault is fixed (miraculously) they will not consider it.

    There's no way around it other than to back it up using the computer you normally sync with. If you haven't been syncing/backing up on a regular basis, you're hosed.

    Sorry you've decided this is a rant but the objective observer would know that  all I want is a solution to at least the 3 issues mentioned. I spent the better part of 2 nights with techs that had me doing all the standard refresh items, i.e. setting the PRAM... and as time goes on my frustration grows. Last week spent days trying to find the driver software Maverick now needs and Apple is supposed to have it and doesn't. So at what point does this become a rant? I've done things the right way had mucho patience thus far and as a kicker, Apple won't let me download Mountain Lion to reinstall and rid my self of Maverick. Tell me, would you complain?

    Downgrading the iOS is not supported. If you are using Safari this try clearing its cache via Settings > Safari.
    If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different.

    The Apple Genius' were stumped by my laptop issues and said they'd never seen anything like it before and recommended I did a clean install. Below you can see my trash bin, and if you look at the "Empty" button it reads "N201" and then there's the "N39" to the left of it. You can also see these numbers over by the folder area--"SD5, SD6, SD7." But that's not all...
    When I right click on items I see the numbers again. Instead of "Open with" I get "N152" and there's an "N35" and "LB1" towards the bottom.
    I have no idea what's going on so I'm just going to do a clean install on my machine but I don't want to lose my apps. I don't have the original install DVDs for them anymore. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

    You don't lose them.  You can always redownload them from the app store after you log back in with your Apple ID.

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
    iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

    Did you actually watch the movie? You get 30 days in which to view it and if you didn't watch it, that could be why you are getting that message. If you have watched the movie and you're sure that is has expired by now, contact iTunes Store Support and seek their help.
    Change the country in the upper left. - and click on Purchases, billing and redemption to proceed.

  • I can no longer receive or send calls because i need to restore my iphone with itunes how do i do this?

    The back of my iphone 4 got smashed and it worked fine for about 3 hours.
    Then in the top left corner of my screen where normaly my service bars are, it said "searching".

    If you have the computer that you first setup the phone with iTunes then just connect the phone to that computer via. the USB cable and see if a sync can be done.

    Why do you need to sync your iPhone with iTunes - for what purpose?
    You can transfer iTunes content and photos from one computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided beforehand indicating this will occur.
