Need to block certain site!

Guys, I desperately need to block one shitty site, called "www.livejasmin.com", which always jumps on my desktop after clicking to "view" a certain picture on a photo hosting or other site. I have set "blocking pop-ups", but it doesn't help a bit with this shitty "livejasmine"! I so tired to close down hundreds of pop-up "livejasmins", you can't even imagine! Plese, please help me to block those bastards once and for good, or I'll go kill somebody! P.S. Sometimes those suckers' address looks like "http://creatives.livejasmin.com/puw2/i/im/imagebam/rus/index.php?psid=ed_imbamw2ru&pstool=149_13656_151&pstour=t1&psprogram=REVS&site=jsm" and so on...

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

But that is going to accessible to the user, so you're better off blocking specific websites on your intranet server if you're using a Local Area Network.
If each PC has their own connection to the intranet, setting up the block is best done with the HOSTS files. <br />

  • Certain Sites Blocked / Others Displayed Improperly

Safari is blocking certain sites, such as www.apple.com oddly enough. The problem is intermittent, at times I'm able to get on the site. More frequently what happens is sites will load but the pages are improperly displayed, images don't load, text is bumped all over the place. Its like a tornado came through.
And to make it more bizarre this isn't just a problem with Safari. The same things are happening to me in Firefox and Chrome. Any ideas here? Its getting really annoying. Won an auction the other day on ebay and couldn't use my computer to pay for the item. Had to log on with my phone to do it. Really, my phone is more useful than my $2000 laptop? Please help - thanks!

By any chance, do you have the Mac version of Kaspersky Antivirus installed on your Mac? (A few months ago, on the PC side of things, there was a rash of similar trouble with Kaspersky blocking and/or causing rendering issues with apple.com.)

I am trying to block cookies from a certain site, in this case criteo.com, which seems to be causing banner ads that mess with the visual of my netflix and facebook accounts because of their size. I tried following directions on the criteo site, but the blocking is not working!

I need explorer for certain web sites, how do I get it back for those? I had an icon in case I needed Explorer, but now Firefox comes up. How do I change that back?
    Thank you!

You can launch Internet Explorer from its icon on the desktop, Start Menu or the Quick Launch section of the taskbar. If you've lost the shortcuts somehow, you can create one as follows:
    # Right-click the desktop and choose New, then Shortcut.
    # Click the Browse button and select the following file:
    #* C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
    # Give the shortcut a name, like ''Internet Explorer'' then click the Finish button.

    According to this thread > http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f65/blocking-individual-web-sites-on-safa ri-226175.html
You can use the Terminal app to block individual sites but be aware, unless you are familiar using Terminal, best to click your Apple menu  (top left in your screen) then click Block Pop-Up Windows from the drop down menu instead.

  • How can I block bogus web site that keeps trying to update firefox? Need to identify bogus site too.

How can I block bogus web site that keeps trying to update firefox? Need to identify bogus site too.

hello, this is a scam tactic that is trying to trick you into installing malware, so don't download or execute this kind of stuff - updates are handled automatically by firefox so you don't have to download anything (you can always initiate a manual check for updates in ''firefox > help > about firefox'').
you might also want to run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan] in order to make sure that there isn't already some sort of malware active on your system that triggers these false alerts.
[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]
you could also help by pressing F10 & going to ''help > report web forgery'' while you're on this dubious page - this might get the page into the list of malicious sites that get blocked in firefox (the actual list is maintained by google) or when such pages use the firefox logos or trademarks to trick users into downloading malware you could also file it at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/.

  • When I set the content settings to block images and try to navigate certain sites, the browser freezes.

I can stop the browser from displaying images from websites by clicking on the Firefox icon, then clicking on Options from the drop-down menu, then clicking on options from the new drop-down menu, then clicking on the Content tab, and finally un-exing the box next to "Display images." Now the browser won't display images. But when I visit certain sites while in this mode, such as Yahoo! or Goodsearch, and try to navigate within these sites, I find that the browser has frozen up. There seems no way to unfreeze it except to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, log off, log on again, and unblock images before proceeding further. How do I prevent this freezing problem?

    Disable Addons like Adblock plus.
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Abobe reader blocked from site

    Ok,
Adobe reader blocked from site -- message that appears after clicking on a pdf on the following sites. Does not occur on all sites but increasingly so.
    Tested on these sites:
    www.vmware.com
    www.uscis.gov -->http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/n-400.pdf
    http://www.bsatroop321.org/BSATroop321/Troops_MB_files/Citizenship%20World%20Troop%20321.p df
    Symptoms
    1. Go to site
    2. Click on PDF found on a web page on the site
    3. Get 'black screen'
    4. Asked to trust or cancel. Also instructions to go to preferences and set trust or not for site
    5. Select 'trust'
    6. Go back to URL of PDF and all that appears is a solid black screen with no message.
    Running Mac OS 7.5.1
Replicated problem on both Chrome (latest version) and Safari 6.1.
Have tried 'allow', 'always allow' under Safari's security preferences for 11.0.4 in Safari's preferences menu. Doesn't help.
Have latest version of Reader, 11.0.4 or 11.4 installed (installed this 3 days ago). BTW, Adobe Reader v 7 was working fine!
A resolution to this would be great because I need certain PDFs for work or to train Boy Scouts in their merit badge class.

    Hello Kirk.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there.
If it doesn't help, you may want to consider asking ESET about what they're doing with Firefox...
