Need to block spam calls from 201-*

I'm getting many spam calls from numbers like 201-340-1009, but the right-ward numbers keep changing.
I'm told this is someone mis-using (or just using) PINGER. I'd like to just block all
calls from 201 area code (New Jersey, not waiting for Snookie call). Can I do this?
If not, any other recommendations?

You can also list your cell number(s) on the U.S. government's Do Not Call registry by going to https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx. I believe this helps, as I haven't been getting spam calls or texts (though I never got very many) after giving my registration there 31 days to become effective. If they do persist in calling, this gives you a mechanism to report them. This way you only have to register your number, not all the numbers that might be trying to call you.
And (of course) when we go to that site we learn that "Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry." D'oh!

I guess I'm thankful I can block the five numbers for free with an indefinite times I can renew the block every 90 days. I hear that you would have to subscribe to blocking control to block just one number if you are an AT&T customer.

That's not possible - nor necessary. Just adjust your "privacy" parameters

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

NEED HELP BLOCKING A CALL

I keep getting a call from a 9 digit number, call doesn't come through but phone rings until I answer, can't block it because it's only 9 numbers, please help ! They are waking me, annoying me, getting very frustrated, can't get in touch w/Verizon people !

That sounds very annoying lluscher! Please try tapping the i in the circle on the right side of that number from your call log, then scroll down and tap block number. This has worked for me with any number. I have the latest iOS version 7.1, if you don't have this version please update your software and then try the above steps. Keep us posted.

Need assistance using coherence calls from an ejb, get exception

I've added some Coherence calls to a simple EJB, that can be called from a plain java client or a jsp. The bean code is attached as well as the call stack for the exceptions, first
for plain java client, second for jsp. Have also run Web installer, this file
is attached too.

I had added C:/tangosol/lib/tangosol.jar;C:/tangosol/lib/coherence.jar
to my classpath originally and could not find the classes. After I copied both jars into
my Sun/AppServer/lib path, the jars were found, yet I
get another exception, which is attached.
My server is Sun Java Application Server 8 Q1.

Blocking Facetime calls from strangers

We have received a call during the middle of the night on facetime from a stranger. How can you block such calls.
We did not answer it.

I am surprised... we received another call during the middle of the night from the same person - again we ignored it, as much as I wanted to answer and say something (that can't be mentioned on this forum!).
I have removed one of the facetime emails addresses, the next step is to turn off facetime at night, though I expected something better from Apple than having to turn the feature off!!!

Update - made an appointment at Genius bar today (chadstone, Victoria, Australia).
Genius examined phone, replicated the issue and identified a malfunctioning main microphone. He noted that the reason I could still talk to the other party when I activated the 'speakerphone' function is that the speakerphone has a (second) noise cancelling microphone/speaker at the top of the handset. He replaced the phone under warranty, and offered to help me to set up the new phone. In and out in less than 15 minutes, with new phone operational.
Very knowledgable, very polite and just great service.. Thank you Apple team at Chadstone.

How to block Spam text from random number

So, here's the story. I somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
Is there any way to stop this nonsense?
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts?
How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?

As for app I can say that anyway texts are coming to your phone...I have got Call Control installed and I even wrote to their tech support. I got an answer that it is just impossible not to direct texts to your phone. And not one app does this. Yes, you will not see them if the number is blocked, but texts will be there.
In some situations it is even comfortable - if I block someone's number so that he or she doesn't call but still want to read texts)))

No, but if you are in the US you can call AT&T and give them the numbers the Extended Vehicle Warranty they are currently using so they can block them.

I'm wrapping a load of flash/html eLearning content into air
packages - or at least I was!
The content is really old - flash 6 - and part of how it
works is once it has loaded, it calls a javascript function, via a
frame action. Each eLearning module relies on this call getting
made...
Sadly, this javascript call is never received - and having
done a test it is purely down to the call being from a frame rather
than a button (or other user interaction).
eg. a movie with 10 frames. frame 10 has this action:
(remember this is flash 6!)
stop();
getURL("javascript:foo());
foo is never called.
But put a button in with:
on(release){
getURL("javascript:foo());
that works fine. Same call, but via a button.
So really the question is - with air (or even is it something
in new flash security?) - is there some reason why a frame action
cannot call javascript? And if so - is there a parameter that can
be set (like allowScriptAccess type thing - although tried that!)
that will allow it again? Basically with over 1000 different flash
movies, I'm not really in a position to re-code (eg.
ExternalInterface does work! But can't recode 1000 movies to use
that!).
I've searched and can't see anything saying specifically a
frame action call to javascript will be ignored, but clearly it
is...
Any idea, anyone?

You are calling the script while the mouse button is still
down-- a
hijacking truck.
While it still works in older/unpatched IE, Microsoft has
disabled
resizeBy/To and moveBy/To while the mouse button is down.
Obviously, when
you have to click the Alert dialog's OK button, the mouse is
no longer down.
You'll need to take a different approach.

I need to block a number from my iphone5 completely but the number can still get through FaceTime. What can I do? I already blocked the number on sprints side.
