Hi,
You would like to retrieve the returning value of the dynpro in a Batch input session ?
bad idea
try to make a CALL TRANSACTION inside a program. But you can't add you own logic inside a batch-input.
Maybe you could do this using eCAT

  • Need to have the keyboard and mouse 100 feet away from Mac

I need to have the Keyboard and Mouse/Track-pad 100 feet away from Mac Mini.
    What are my options ?
    Thanks

In your case with the need to control it from multiple locations the best and realistically only solution is to use Screen Sharing to remotely control the Mac.
With this solution you can control it from anywhere you have a network connection and could use a laptop to control the Mac mini. This is the solution I use in a very similar situation.
Bluetooth does not have enough range, even RF wireless keyboard and mice devices also would not have the range, and I don't believe there is a suitable USB solution.
The only other possibility that occurs to me is to use an IP based KVM. A KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse) switch box allows multiple computers to be controlled from typically a single keyboard and mouse. However there are versions which allows you to do this over a TCP/IP network i.e. Ethernet. Then again you would be able to do this anywhere on your network. Here is one example - http://www.aten-usa.com/products/productItem.php?model_no=CN8600
Personally I still strongly recommend using Screen Sharing. Its built-in and completely free!

  • How can I get my iPhone 4 repaired while away from home?

I will be working in Manila in the Philippines for the next few months.
My iPhone 4 has developed a hardware fault and needs to be repaired. It is out of warranty, but I am willing to pay for the cost of the repair myself. The Apple Authorized Service Providers here inform me that the only organizations who carry out repairs are the two official iPhone distributors in the country. Unfortunately, neither of these companies are willing to repair my iPhone because it was not purchased from them.
I am told that I will have to fly back to the country I originally purchased the unit from to have the work carried out there.
People travel and work all around the world these days. Do Apple really expect their customers to fly to a different country just to get their phone
repaired? How is someone travelling on a business trip supposed to manage without his phone if it develops a fault while he is away from
    home?
Does anyone know a way I can get my iPhone fixed while I am here?
    Chris

As I explained, I'm not asking for Apple to provide warranty support. I'm quite willing to pay for the cost myself. The problem is that none of the authorized Apple service centers are willing to accept the unit for repair because it wasn't purchased from them.
Its quite shameful that Apple permits its official support organizations to behave in this way. Someone working away from home should be able to get their phone repaired if it develops a fault. These things are not toys for many of us. A lot of people depend on them to carry out their business.

  • Want to have My iPod Touch to be connected to a WiFi while away From Home

While at Home I am connected to my WiFi through my computer system but when I am away from home there isn't very much WiFi Hot spots in my area except when I am in a Star bucks or in a business that says that they have "Free" WiFi. I have a few WiFi iPod Touch Apps that are able to locate Free WiFi Hot Spots but when I go and try to use them when I am away from home I am not able to use it at all.
Is there a way that I can have my iPod Touch to be set up where I can be connect to any WiFis when I am away from Home? or have my iPod Touch to be able to search for any WiFis in my area?
Note: I have a MobileMe Account and I have a email account with my local Isp which is a Pop account.

I'll add another positive review about the MiFi device and its use with a Touch. I've had this for about 2 months, and it works very well. And I'll disagree with the poster who said "get an iPhone".
The MiFi has several advantages over the iPhone -- First, it's a mobile hotspot that can provide WiFi for up to 5 devices simultaneously (the iPhone can't do that, even once AT&T enables tethering); Second, the MiFi allows use of a network other than AT&T (which many users may appreciate)...aside from Verizon, Sprint sells a version that works on its network; Finally, the price of the MiFi and its usage plan may well end up being less expensive than an iPhone.
It's not cheap, but then again, neither is an iPhone and its usage plan. I spend nearly $60/month on the expensive MiFi plan, but can switch down (and then back up) to the lower-priced $40/month plan if I don't need the full 5gb a month that the higher plan provides.
Sure, you don't get a telephone with the Touch + MiFi solution (although Skype works well if you add a microphone to your Touch), but not everyone wants/needs a phone...and for those who want primarily data/WiFi/Web, the MiFi with a Touch will give an iPhone a real run for its money.
I'll also add that the original poster may just need access to more hotspots - i.e., other than those that advertise "free" WiFi. If that's the case, she might consider something like a Boingo membership which will get her online in many places...including just about every McDonalds in the US.

  • Network equipment away from mac, but have time capsule

i plan on moving my cable modem, router, switch away from my room because it just makes alot of clutter. and i plan on moving the equipment to a closet in the hall way thats by all the cable cable splitters. and i can easily run a cable from the splitter to the cable modem and set it up in the closet.
however, i want to buy a time capsule, and obviously i want it by my mac so how do i go about doing this?

Of course! It only needs to be on the same network. As I say, you can either keep your current router and use the TC as a wired client, or swap out the TC for the router and let the TC manage your network. Either way, the Mac will be able to back up wirelessly to the Time Capsule.

  • How can i update my iTunes account while away from my computer?

I received a new debit card in the mail the other day, making my old one invalid.  I am away from my computer and wanted to update my account information so it reflects the new debit card.
Is there any way to do this or do i have to wait until i get home to update it?
    Thanks

    Hello,
You can only change your payment type or credit card information in iTunes on your Mac or an iOS device.

  • On project load, CC7.2 on Windows 8 forces me to change scratch disk location away from Mac-formatted external HDD

When I open a project saved on my external hard drive it wants to change the scratch disks to My Documents Folder.
Once I accept it, it opens the project and then I am actually able to change the scratch disks back. Weird.
It's worth mentioning that my external drive is formatted for Mac and I bought a driver from Paragon allowing my PC to read and write to it. Idk if this is where Pr gets confused.
    Windows 8.0
Pr CC latest update (todays date: 19 dec 13)
I hope someone is able to fix it.

    Hi frbra1,
The reason why you are getting this prompt is just beacause the files that are saved on your scratch disk while working on MAC have location "/Volume/name of the HD/program or file name", but when you connect that drive to windows the location changes to "Drive Name:\" . So. it is the adressing issue of the drive that you are facing with the drives. It is alo not always necessary that the drives get same name when they are attached to the machine.

  • Can Mail be set up to work while away from home?

When I tried using mail with my powerbook G4, using a free wireless system at the library, I received a message that it needed authentication. Is it possible to use Mail away from home or do I have to use Webmail? I use Comcast broadband at home.

You were exactly right! All it took is going to Mail preferences, clicking on server settings, checking authentication, and adding my user id and password. I tried using the library's WiFi and mail came through.
    Thanks

  • How to backup while away from usual Time Machine destination?

When at home, I have Time Machine backup to a Time Capsule (and a couple of external drives that I rotate off-site).
I'd like to guard against losing any files changed while I'm away from home for some days should I lose my hard disk. One possibility is having an external HD with a full TM backup on it but this isn't appealing to me because the HD would end up being stored close to my Macbook and it's possible they could disappear togather. The volume of modified data to backup would easily fit on a USB stick or SD card that I could keep in my pocket.
Is there a way to backup only those files modified since my last backup to Time Capsule (to my SD card)? Some reading about rsync, mtmd and mtmfs didn't yield anything useful.
My current workaround is to create a smart folder in Finder of files modified after a specified date and copy these to the SD card. This doesn't preserve the directory structure.

First, understand that having one, and only one, backup isn't that much safer than having none.  I can't count the number of times I've seen someone lose the internal hard drive only to discover a previously undetected problem with the one and only backup drive.  It sounds too coincidental to be likely, but gut feelings in this case have little to do with reality.
So, that said, I wouldn't try to limit this secondary backup method as you stated.  I would create a full secondary backup plan.  Use some online service, like CrashPlan or Carbonite.  Note that I don't use those (not away from home enough to warrant it), so don't take that as an endorsement of those two particular services!

  • Recently a software update 7.1 presented itself on my phone. Since attempting to download it, I have lost the ability to search the internet while away from my computer. As well I can't call an one. And they can't call me. The 7.1 update keeps popping up.

Since attempting to download the latest update of 7.1. the download confirmation showed a pop up saying; unable to install. Can't re attempt to install. Lost internet ability when away from computer and I can't be called, nor can I call anyone. Please, can anyone help me with this? I'll even go back to what I had, had before attempting the 7.1 download.

Sounds like your only able to use Wifi on your device currently which indicates you have lost network connection with your cellular provider ....you can call them to troubleshoot this but one common issue in some countries is that if you are on a 3G only network this can become turned off after a software update...go to settings > cellular/mobile > and see if enable 3G  or enable 4G/LTE is off or on try turning it on and then power off phone and on again and this will probably fix it, so you can make calls etc and use the internet away from the computer.  As for the update always do an itunes backup first and they make sure you have long enough for this update to run through on wifi and then try it again.  Good Luck

  • HT4623 I upgraded my iphone to iOS 7 while away from home, and it tells me when I plug it into a new iTunes that the phone needs to be restored.  Because of lack of space I don't have all of my phone's info on iCloud, and I'm afraid I'll lose information

Anyway to go back? (I guess it's downloaded but not installed) I'm keeping my phone off, but not dure that will be enough.
    Thanks

The iPhone can only be synced with one iTunes on one computer. If you plug it into a new iTunes on a different computer it's going to ask to sync it to the new iTunes. So don't sync anything unless you want to lose your info.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Guest user account logged into while away from house/computer!!!

    Warning: I am not a tech-pro!
Okay, I have a 2011 Mac Book Pro running OS X LION 10.75 (11G63) unsure what those last numbers mean but they were there so I thought perhaps it might be helpful to add them.
Recently I moved into a granny flat and pay $10 a week to use their unlimited internet wifi. I log into my wifi through this device called a WiFi Repeater? It's plugged into the wall in my unit, as I warned I am not incredibly tech savvy so I am only guessing when I say I suppose this extends the main wifi signal from the actual home owners upstairs big modem? Any who.... A few times I have seen in the Finder Memu ot says 'Shared' and under that 'Wendys PC' (Wendy is the homeowner) then if you click on it it tries to connect but won't or there is a 'Connect As' option which brings up a little screen saying - connect as wendy, which requires a password or connect as guest which doesn't look like it requires a password- I'm not certain because I've never tried to connect any further, I only pressed that initial connect button when I had mentioned to Wendy I could see her PC & she asked me to press connect & prove I could not in fact connect (I'm starting to despise the word 'connect' since having to type this post about connection). So... We just kind of let it go. It did really worry me that Wendy (who worked in the tech field for years in particular with an Internet provider, could possibly connect to my computer and nosey through all my files- and to be honest, that would not actually suprise me. She is incredibly 'inquisitive'... And that's putting it mildly. I do have a password on my Mac Book Pro but I don't think that would be that hard to break through/hack if you have the knowledge/software. And yes, I do have confidential files on there! Banking/business/private photos (I'm trying to lose weight so take one nude photo per day to do a time lapse of myself in a year or two- obviously for myself not for others eyes lol and I would literally die in the *** if someone ever saw these). So basically I have good reason to protect my privacy. As does everyone! Anyway my first question is - Could she log in and how could I tell if she had? Now, the second part of this ridiculously long question (my apologies) is I was logged into my personal account all last night & this morning. As I stated- it IS password protected. The user account is not. Before I went out (and I can't actually recall if I closed the lid or not when I rushed out today... Usually I do but maybe I didnt... Whatevs) So, I get home and activate the screen by moving my finger on the touch pad and lo & behold I'm straight away looking at a totally different screen? It took me a few seconds to realise why my desktop looked completely different with none of my files etc... It was - as you've probably guessed- because I was in fact in the guest user account. Now, I didn't even have to click ON 'Guest User' as I normally have to. When you turn my Mac on it always comes up with - 'My Full Name' (one account login) and then 'Guest User' (the second account login option).... So you HAVE to choose which one you want! But my screen was straight away logged into the Guest Users desktop! I did NOT do this guys! So, of course now I'm extremely concerned that either she, her husband or their son whom is visiting for the weekend - have either a) logged in remotely on one of their computers or b) have come into my home and tried logging in & then forgot to log out of the guest account. I want to know if there is any way to find out what they did, what they opened if they did, how to stop it from both happening at all or if my suspicions are in fact happeninh AGAIN   And I guess on a more personal, less tech involved note - how would you all deal with such a situation? Let it go? Or be upfront about the fears/concerns I am experiencing since moving in just over a month ago. AND most importantly - IS there any other reason -other than someone physically logging into my guest user account & failing/forgetting to log back out so that when I got home & activated my screen I was actually looking at the guest user desktop's account instead of the Mail application screen in the 'My Full Name' password protected user account where I had actually left it before rushing out.... Like, is there ANY other possibly explanation for my user account being logged into when I'd left it on my own account t before I left that doesn't include someone in the house hacking/breaking into/snooping through my Mac? Also- you should understand that when I leave my Mac for just a few minutes I have it set up so that the computer screen 'sleeps' (I'm assuming that's the correct term) so that if for instance -exactly like this morning- I have to rush out and don't want to/don't have time to save work/quit applications/shut down etc... I can walk away leaving the laptop as is knowing within a few minutes the screen saver comes up (and if that's ledr for long enough it goes into sleep mode) and no one can actually enter my private account without my password. I feel safe knowing that.
    Sorry.... I FELT safe.
I'm truly sorry for how long-winded this question has become, I simply wanted to give anyone possibly willing to help me sort out this issue, as much information as possible. I think I have actually only posted here once before (I find these sort of forums quite intimidating) and I often see people getting bashed for not providing enough information. So, I'm pretty sure I'll get picked on for too many words if anything!!?! Lol
Thank you, in advance for your help!
    Olivia;-).

    Ouch.
Not easily. You could try data recovery software... maybe SubRosaSoft's File Salvage or the like.

  • Need help on upgrading operating system from Mac OSX 10.3.9

We have a Imac G5 with Mac OS X v 10.3.9. We want an upgrade to run new ILife stuff. We don't know what we are doing.
What should we get to update the operating system, where, and how do we upgrade the system?
Are there any particular requirements that my computer will need? How do I know that I have them?
Is there anything in particular in the System Profile that I need to make sure that I have?
    Thanks.

You don't say what iMac G5 you have, but here's the *Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard installation system requirements* http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24950 You may have to increase your RAM. A minimum of 1GB is recommended. If you click on About This Mac, you will see how much RAM is currently installed.
Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store *but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)*.
Suggest you download the two PDF documents at the top of this link.

  • Unplugping power when away from Mac for a long time

I finally got an APC UPS for my G4 dual 450 and my 3 external LaCie HDs (one of which runs Tiger and is my startup disk).
In the past, (before UPS) when we traveled for weeks to months at a time, we unplugged all the computer stuff even though everything IS plugged in to surge protectors. Better safe than sorry.
Now, I wonder how to unplug.
I assume the sequence to be with the computer off and the HDs therefore off as well, turn off the power on the UPS and then unplug it from the wall outlet. But - will the UPS's internal battery still be running something in the G4 (that little battery that keeps the memory going?) and will this run down the UPS battery so much that I should unplug the computer from the UPS as well?
And does it shorten the life of the UPS battery if it is left unplugged for a month or so? (or does this in fact work to my advantage, since APC says the life of the battery is shortened by numerous power outages (which we don't have anyway!)
    Mrs H

    Hi, Mrs H -
Expanding a bit on Jeff's comments...
Lightning seeks ground. It may travel on anything conductive, even leaping from one path to another, but what it is seeking is a connection to ground. Turning a computer and its peripherals off does not interrupt their ground connection; ditto the UPS and any other normal surge protection devices. The switches on all of that equipment interrupt only the power (hot) leads, not the ground connections.
The only way to interrupt the ground connections reliably is to unplug everything. One advantage of using a UPS and/or surge protector strips is that it makes interrupting the ground connection easier - just unplug the UPS and/or the surge strips from the wall outlet.
However, that is not quite sufficient: it is also necessary to disconnect any internet connection. Unplug the phone wire for dial-up or DSL connections, or the cable for cable broadband connections.
I had first-hand experience with such a few years ago. I was pushing the envelope, thinking I had some time yet before a coming electrical storm got close enough to be of concern. While I was using the computer, lightning struck a school across the street. A stray twinkle of lightning passed through my home office, about two feet in front of me (I say 'twinkle' because it was midday and that's all my eyes were able to register).
The computer immediately displayed a message that it had lost communication with a firewire drive, then froze. First thing I did was a force-restart, which was successful - even the firewire drive referenced in the message was back.
What was not back was ethernet - no comm with my printer or the internet. After a bout of testing I isolated the problem - my ethernet hub and one ethernet cable were fried. Nothing else was damaged. I had spares for both on hand, so was back to normal a few minutes later.
Having learned the lesson relatively painlessly, I now unplug everything much sooner when such a storm is impending.

  • What are the things we need to take care while moving from 11g to 12c.

    Dear All,
One of my client having the application running on 11g and now he wants to move it on 12c.
Now he is asking to me that, what are the things will not work or impacted due to this. Any code level changes, syntax, functions etc are working in 11g and now there is difference or not working in 12c. Could you please help me in this.
Is there any document for all these thing. I searched on google but not able to find any specific doc.

Database in 11g will now act as PDB's in 12c.
And what makes you say so? What about the changes/fixes done in the optimizer that would alter the plans? What about if the client wants to use in-memory database option? And your statement that database in 11g will now act as PDB in 12c doesn't make any sense. What if the client is not willing to move to multitenancy? What about the scripts that are running in 11g without any issues and suddenly, will break in 12c  due to PDB's ? Do you have any technical reference to validate your claim that there won't be any impact ?
