I'm not sure what is going on but try this.
Open a program which allows you to edit text (on Windows I would suggest NotePad but I don't know what to use on MAC) You want a very simple text editor.
Type your username as you want it.
Highlight it and copy it to the clipboard. Go to the log on page and paste in the name from the clipboard.
Maybe that will work.
All I can think of about the first character becoming an upper case character is that it reminds me of some word processing programs - such as Word or Works - which always assume the first word of a sentence will begin with a capital letter and they change it for you.
I don't know why this would be happening in your case, but that is what it reminds me of.
Is there a spelling add-on or plug-in that might be coming into play here?
I assume that you have no problems at work (you say this is happening on your home computer) so I would begin to look at differences between the two as to software installed, browser add-ons and plug-ins, etc.
Maybe someone at the computer department at the school can help you track this down.

Open Messages on your Mac, click on Preferences>Accounts. At the bottom you will see "Start New Messages From" - click on your iPhone number from the dropdown.

I highlight emails I need to follow up on. Recently these highlights have all just dissappeared. This has happened a few times. How do I prevent this?

after reading an email, or not I keep highlighted or mark as unread so I know I need to follow up on. 3 times in the last year, twice on my computer, and once on my phone. These highlighted emails lose their highlight status. They are still in the system as a read email,, but now I have to spend hours trying to find them as they are mixed up with the 100's of emails I get.
Do you know why this happens?
Is there a way to prevent it from happening?

Read status is synchronized in IMAP mail accounts between all devices. What triggers a change of read status is really hard to guess. It might be turning on a laptop that has been in the cupboard for 6 months. Might I suggest you try tagging your mail instead. Try pressing the 1 on the keyboard to mark it a important and change it's color to red. The other 8 numeric keys also have an attached label and a different colour
Note tags are not universally supported by mail servers. Change one and wait a while to see if the server sets it back to black on the next synchronization (about 15-20 minutes usually)

I have Itunes Music and Itunes Media folders that have almost the same gigs in them, the media is larger. Do I need both of these? The only way to clear out that remaining balance is to contact iTunes Customer Service.
Once they remove it, you can then change the country.

Why is my iMessage going from its email not the mobile number any more?

MMy imessage you to be sent from my mobile number on both my ipad and my iPhone although for some reason I'm getting losds of people texting me back asking who it is texting them as it's now being sent from my email address which is very very annoying! Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can change it back to the mobile number?
i Have gone on settings and the. Messages gone down to Imessage and it says (start a new convocation from) and my mobile number is there greyed out but still tick and none of my email address are ticked so I'm very confused to why it's doing this.

I need to change my iCloud username as the email address has changed

I have changed my email address for my iphone and successfully changed the apple id. However , now my icloud on my phone won't work as it has the old email address and i cannot find where I can change it as the username is greyed out in settings. Any ideas?
