  • Need to clear Java cache programmatically - WinXP

    Gurus,
    I need a script, preferably vbs, to clear the cache on Java 1.6.0 at login.
    Many thanks,
    Harry

    This isn't really a Java question. Find out where your Java temporary files are kept; this site shows how to do that: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020300.xml
    Then, pick your favorite script and delete the temporary files there when you login, be it something like vbs or a simple .bat.

  • My email provider says I need to clear the cache - toolbar doesnt' display

    I don't know how to make the toolbar display so I can click on tools to go in and clear my cache or clear my cookies. Please help

    Firefox doesn't have a "compatibility view", Internet Explorer does.
    If your issue is with Firefox, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

  • How to clear the caching realm?

    Hello,
    WebLogic Server 5.1 SP 6 on W2k Server
    Is it possible to emtpy the caching realm inside of an EJB?
    The class weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm

    to get the actual cache object within an EJB in the WebLogic

    yeah word
    This works for sure in a servlet or jsp

    out.println("No pluggable Realm = no Cachingrealm!");

    Is there anyway to clear a particular user from the cache. When the user's
    password
    is changed in the database, i would like to remove this user from the
    Caching
    realm. If i call authUserPassword() with incorrect password, will it
    remove the
    User object from Cache?
    Also, in a cluster, how do i remove the User from all WLS instances.
    thanks for your help.

    Why do you need to clear the caching realm?
    Anyway, I think you can do it by (I haven't tried this):
    import weblogic.security.acl.Realm;
    import weblogic.security.acl.Security;
    import weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm;
    Realm genericRealm = Security.getRealm();
    CachingRealm cachingRealm = (CachingRealm)genericRealm;
    cachingRealm.clearCaches();

  • If I clear browser cache, will it delete my opened tabs?

    I have many opened tabs. Now I need to clear the cache. If I do this, my opened tabs will be lost or not?

    If you value your currently open tabs then you can either right-click the Tab bar and choose "Bookmark All Tabs" to bookmark the currently open tabs or you can create a backup copy of the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox Profile Folder to be able to restore a session in case of problems.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
    If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the "Browsing History" then you will lose open tabs.<br />
    It shouldn't happen under other conditions unless you close a window to quit Firefox via the close X on the tittle bar and had missed that there are other windows still open. You can avoid such an issue by always using the Exit Firefox command in the Firefox or File menu.

  • Safe Practice for Clearing Project Cache in Cap v.5

    Does anyone have a documented safe practice for clearing the Project Cache for Captivate v.5 projects?  Adobe has a fix for clearing cache for multiple projects in one step, but I'm wondering when is the best time to clear cache for a project.  My concern is clearing the project cache and then not being able to recover the project if the file get's corrupt (which is the original purpose for the cache in the first place).
    I've already done this once where I cleared the project cache and then couldn't open the file, then I didn't have the cached project available to recover the project.  Now I'm understandably a little gun-shy when using the Clear Cache option, but the alternative is to deal with a large amount of my computer storage being used for a bunch of files that I probably don't need.
    If anyone has the recommended list of steps and in the correct order, I'd really appreciate it.

    I don't know that there is any "documented safe practice" for when to clear the cache, but if you have Cp5 set to create backup files as well, even if you DO clear your cache, you should be able to recreate your project by renaming the backup file.
    I've been using Cp5 every day since it was in Alpha and I've only ever needed to restore a project from cache once.  In that case, my PC crashed while Cp was open and corrupted a project file.  But Captivate 5 has crashed plenty of times over the past year for one reason or another and yet I've never lost any more than a couple of hours work at worst.
    You are most likely to need this project restore feature if you've made the classic error of working from files stored on a network drive instead of your own hard drive.  If you only work from hard drive, install all the latest patches, keep your drivers and OS up to date, turn on the Cp backup file option, plus keep backups of all project files outside your PC, this is all the documented safe practice you need.
    Clearing the cache seems to solve quite a few otherwise baffling Cp issues.  I think you are more at risk by keeping the cache full than by clearing it.

  • After Effects  clear images cache programmatically?

    hi,
    i'm currently developing an AE effect plugin.
    i want to be able to clear the cache programmatically
    from my effect plugin code.
    is there any way to do this?
    thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    May I ask why you need to clear image cache from your effect plug-in?
    It may be a bug (either in Plug-in or AE) if you need to do so for some reason.
    I can read Japanese, if you prefer to use Japanese.
    Thanks,

    Yes. Always keep the default settings unless you have a specific reason not to.
    If you are a heavy user of Java programs or applets, you may need to clear the cache files after Java updates because the old caches may interfere.

  • I'm downloading a file which I know has been updated on the server but I'm still getting the old one... I think there is a cache somewhere I need to clear but I'm not sure ?

    I have a file on my own server which is available to the public to download I uploaded a new version so I know it replaced the existing one. But when I try downloading it through Firefox I just get the older version and not the new one... I seem to remember having this problem before and was given details of how to clear the cache concerned, but I don't know for sure. Any help would be appreciated thanks

    Ctrl F5 doesn't do anything. (I'm on a Mac if that makes a difference.) The link is to the online page and it does prompt me for the id and password for that page.
    The page is designed in htm.
    This is driving me a little nuts. I suspect there is a library file somewhere that itsn't being cleared out, but I can't figure out where.

  • Two Clear System Cache Needed in Two Days since 602 Update

    I found out why my battery is worse with the 602 update. Appararently my phone is NEVER GOING TO SLEEP. I forget the name of the service that was keeping it awake. I think it was com.motorola.service.main. After the clear cache, it was good for a day. I took a couple of phone calls and exchanged some text messages and noticed again that my phone was warm. Sure enough, it was stuck again (100% AWAKE even when screen was off for long periods). I cleared the cache again and it has been fine overnight.
    I really hope we do get another update because this one is not working too well on my phone (which had few issues with the prior 596 update).

    You need to look at what you have installed.....if you have done a factory reset, leave all your apps off for a day and see if the phone itself is draining the battery. I just did a factory reset this past weekend (8/27) and before that, my battery use was attrocious, but after the reset it's not using up the battery as much. Before the factory reset, I had AFK (task killer) installed and I really think it was draining my battery, along with WeatherBug. I don't have those installed after the reset and I see a remarkable difference. Before it, I was having to charge my battery at work by the time it was noon (it sits on the charger at night so it has 100% when I leave for work), but since the reset, I have not had to hook it up to the charger at work. My battery mode is set to performance mode and that doesn't seem to make a difference, even though alot here would say it is gonna drain it the most.
    You just have to play with it and see what works and what may be causing it, if that means taking off apps completely and putting them back on one by one to find any differences.

  • Clearing my cache,why do I need to do this & consequences

    Hi, I am new to iPad, I have an ipad4. I am not great on techy stuff.
    The Admin of a site (one of my Spanish expat forums) suggests I clear my cache as his site does not show as it should on my iPad, it shows fine on his. I don't have this problem with other sites so I'm loathe to do what he says. Won't clearing my cache lose me everything on iPad? I need advice please?

    On iPad you can delete history, cookies and data.   Tap Settings > Safari. Tap to clear cookies, history, and data.   < same as clearing the cache.
    No, clearing the cache does not delete everything on your iPad.
    Keep in mind, not all websites render the same on an iOS device such as your iPad as they will on a Mac. Two different operating systems. Mac OS X vs iOS.
