Need to clear 'other' data on my iphone5 running ios 6.1.3

Ok so ive been scrolling through every link on this forum and theres a lot of people who have no clue on what it is. They just say 'restore' or download a fileapp such as 'diskaid' my point being I shouldnt have to do this to clear the corrupted data. No one seems to be able to privide a proper solution but just throw different ideas at what they guess it could be. Im pretty savvy with the systems operation and what not. But this one has stumped me, ive reset my phone. restored from backup (which would only do it again as its a mirror image of the old phone). and tried to find the corrupted data and its just proving a thorn in my side its been at 9.5 gb and I want to find a way around this issue without restoring from new as I dont believe i should have to do that.
Any help on this 'reoccurring' issue would be great!

From Apple's stable no other solution except what you wrote. Could use iCloud to restore from backup.
Google Search for a third party utility.

• Other data has gone massive since iOS 5

Will i have to restore completely to get the other data from the 3.4Gig that it is post iOS 5 back to iOS 4.3.3 0.7Gig?!

Just got off the phone with Apple, and a senior advisor told me I should restore the phone without restoring from backup. Ugh. Pain.
He did also mention, however, that it could likely be an application that isn't using the proper storage guidelines for iOS5, and thus isn't reporting its used data, and that data isn't being cleaned up.
But all in all, since my "other" jumped when I installed iOS5, he thinks it's something that is a fault in my backup.

• Clearing "other" data on your iPhone 4

I am looking for an Apple - Based solution for examining and clearing the iPhone data known as "Other" through iTunes. If not an Apple solution, maybe a third party software that allows one to go in and take a look at exactly what occupies that space. I am wondering if with this insight a person can remove Apps that may directly or indirectly effect this un-accounted for data consumption. I have a 16GB iPhone 4 and need the space.

I don't think that you are able to. I'm pretty sure the other contains the hardware that your phone needss to properly work.

• UIX form need to clear cached data within session

HELP! I have some UIX forms created with JHeadStart, thay work fine except but when the underling table data changes (from another user session or an update trigger from different table) the forms will NOT show refreshed data, unless I delete my browser session cookie. Is there one place to clear the cache, and force the data to be reloaded each time it’s displayed?

In your struts diagram, rightclick the page and pick 'goto code'
This will overwrite your data action. There overwrite the method you use, most likely onCommit(....)
Use the appmodule to find your viewobjects there and clear the cache.

• How do I disable iCloud on iPhone5 running IOS 7?

How do I stop iCloud from running on my iPhone5 after upgrading to IOS7?
Roughly 24 hours after upgrading to IOS7, my iPhone incessantly started popping up an iCloud login window.
Canceling out of iCloud window, resuled in a new iCloud login window popping up.
The iCloud popup window would not give me enough time to do anything on my iPhone. Including turning off Airplane mode, so entering my iCloud password would actually do some good. Took three tries after getting iPhone connected, as if iPhone was sending garbage for password.
Never had this problem before, never got a request from iCloud for login; until I made mistake of upgrading to IOS7.
I don't use iCloud for anything, and don't want too.

• Questions on getting "other" data off ipad

I have been reading the threads, but before I do a full restore I have a few questions.
I have about 2GB of "other" space on my 8GB ipad 2 (OS 7 withou the latest patch). I need to get rid of it because I can't load the new OS and I have the ipad down to bare bones.
Anyway, I was reading that "other" could be corrupted data or stuff that apps are using. I got rid of my photos. All I have is apps, and music plus the files I store in pages.
1. How can I tell which apps are sucking up space?
2. If I do a restore, will the corrupted data just come back from my MBP onto my ipad? I am backing up to the MBP and also syncing everything in icloud. This is where my brain gets lost because I don't understand where the bad data is being stored.
Any thoughts or hints would be appreciated before I start doing neurosurgery.
Thanks in advance!

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

• What to do to back Clear private data and other things I loose?

It has about 15 days ago, it appear window Firefox on my desktop, to download 3.6.13 version. Inside this window wrote "URGENT" in yellow color, and attention, "computer online attack". When I finish to install this Firefox, I saw that I loose Clear Private Data and other things I had in the first line, on the top of computer (sign of mail etc.), and things where is the star and flash. 1. Was it yours or send it to me someone else...? 2. Does this 3.6.13 include Clear private data? 3. What to do to have again Clear private data? Please, wrote step by step, 4. What to do to back other important things I loose?

You may have picked up a malware infection by allowing that install.
You should never respond to such unrequested pop-ups.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
• I need to clear out all the data on my phone so I can give it to someone

I need to clear out all the data on my phone so I can give it to someone

There are two ways you could do this.
1. Go to settings>general>reset then select the option "erase all content and settings"
2. Restore to factory settings with iTunes on a PC/Mac. The article below can show you how to do this:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Hope this helps

• I am about to replace my hard drive with Apple. Do I need to format my existing drive to clear my data?

I am about to replace my hard drive with Apple. Do I need to format my existing drive to clear my data?

In my view, definitely. Make sure you have reliable and tested backup of all your important data by way of TIme Machine or a clone (preferably both) so that you can restore once the drive is replaced and then erase the internal drive.

• TS1503 How do I clear the 'other data' on my iPhone 4S? It is using 25% of the available memory. I do not want to have to wipe it and then reset every thing I use. That's why I have restore. Except restore puts the other data back on the phone.

I've come to the conclusion that Apple is no better than Microsoft. There was a functional iTunes. I could sync music, playlists, etc; across my iPad and iPhone. I can't now. It now eats up storage on my devices with 'other data', and Apple is silent on what is going on. I currently have 2 iMacs, 2 iPads, a Macbook Pro, and an AirBook Pro. I will stop purchasing Apple products. It is a royal pain to fix anything. This support page tries my patience to use. I used to enjoy working with Apple products, simply because they functioned and where intuitive to use. No more. Music is impossible to sync across platforms using the same account. Songs only, no playlists. This is step back to the early year of systems. No common data formats, zero portablity, and labor intensive.
Way to go Apple, you've destroyed your reputation!

Similar issue -- this is the third time in as many months that I've had to restore my iPad. It's a iPad Mini w/ 32GB (ME277LL/A), running the latest iOS8.1.2. The "other" data starts off about 1GB and will bob around that. I was careful about games this time, seeing only a slight rise in the data. Once it started to rise, I deleted all of the game and the data on Game Center. No joy -- the data stays about the same.
Then I noticed it was really climbing -- shooting up to about 10GB and sitting there, no matter what I did: sync it: nothing. Deleting music (on the off chance it was album art or some such: nothing. Deleted all the books in iBooks: no effect -- still 10GB. Cleared the iCloud storage, cleared caches repeatedly: nothing. Reset everything: no effect. Only Restoring the iPad -- which takes forever and is a gigantic pain in the @$$ -- gets it down. This is exactly the same thing that happened the other two times -- I lose about 10GB to "other."
I now suspect, thinking on what I was doing with the device, that pulling movies from iTunes seems to be the culprit. Deleting the movies might take the movie "off the iPad", but there seems to be a corresponding jump in Other. My guess is there's some glitch dumping the information elsewhere.
It makes a 32GB iPad pretty frickin' close to useless in a remarkable amount of time. I've not had this issue until this iPad (bought last summer) with the iOS8 upgrade. I don't see this happen on the iPhone 5S with the same OS...that's why I dialed down to iTunes (when is it not smack in the middle of issues?) and Video as the culprit; I don't watch movies on the phone.
I've noticed a massive amount of posts in support and around the web on this matter...it might be time for Apple to shift it and do something about the matter. If I'm going to be restricted to surfing the web, email, and little else thanks to the Other issue, it really doesn't make sense to stick with this device. I can doo all that on my laptop, can't it?

• I need to clear space on my mac and have 2 other devices I need space on- IpHone and Ipad. I have Itunes match. If I delete the library from my computer, how can I play music from the cloud on all devices. S

I am almost out of space on my mac and Ipad. Need to clear songs off, but afraid I won't be able to listen without going to my external hard drive. I have Itunes match but don't know how they are accessed from the cloud. Thoroughly confused and frustrated. Hope someone can help.
Another question is my Iphotos are taking up tons of space and I don't know if they are in cloud or best way to back up. Any thoughts?

If you have iTunes Match, and your music is in your Match library, you can access it from iCloud on all your devices, provided they are signed into your iTunes Match account. Make sure you keep a backup of your music somewhere though as the match process isnt' perfect and you may find that some of your iTunes Match music isn't exactly the same as the original (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112).
The best way to back up your photos is to import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you are out of room on your Mac, get an inexpensive external drive to save your photos on.
