• Trying to install flashplayer 10 it says I need to close mozilla firefox how do I do that?

I am trying to install flash player # 10 and get a warning that I need to close mozilla firefox can you tell me how to do that?

File > Exit or Firefox Button > Exit
Then verify that Firefox is completely down, give it 30 seconds before checking then
use Ctrl+Shift+Ext switch to the "Processes" tab ( win7 only shortcut) then
if firefox.exe is running end the process
if plugin-container.exe is running end the process

• Can't download Firefox because it says must close Mozilla Firefox first. Can't find anything open.

Have been on Mozilla for months. Lost it a few days ago and can't get back. Can't download because it says must close Firefox first. Cannot find open Mozilla Firefox.

Create a new profile to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

• I want to download Adobe flash player 11.1 and when I try to download a message pops up that I need to close Mozilla Firefox. How do I close Firefox to download and then reopen it? Thank you

I am trying to log into a web based system, called Mortgage Coach from my laptop, in order for me to log onto Mortgage coach a message says that I need to download Adobe flash 11.1. Adobe cannot be installed until Mozilla is closed. I do not know how to close Firefox so that I can do the Adobe download and then reopen again to have Firefox. Help!

After the file is downloaded, you begin the installation. When the installation starts, bring Firefox down with "Alt+F" (File) > Quit that is the proper way to bring Firefox down.
If Firefox is still running after a few minutes then take firefox.exe down from the Windows Task Manager, from the "Processes" Tab. Also you might want to take down the plugin-container.exe as well.

• Adobe flashplayer won't continue downloading until I close Mozilla Foxfire,Adobe says it's conflicting the download. How do I close Mozilla Firefox?

Adobe flashplayer won't continue downloading until I close Mozilla Foxfire. Adobe says it's conflicting the download. How do I close Mozilla Firefox so I can finish my download of Adobe Flash Player? And then how will I turn Foxfire back on once Adobe Flash Player is done downloading?

To close Firefox, in the menus select "File > Exit", you can start Firefox by using the same shortcut that you used to open Firefox originally.
I would ignore the instructions from Adobe. Adobe uses its own download manager but it is not required. All you need to do to install Adobe Flash is download the Adobe Flash manual installer and run it. For details on doing that see the Adobe troubleshooting article - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller

Do i absolutely need to install Mozilla Firefox on my pc to run/use MozFireFoxPortable ?
i've been trying to use MFFPortable for several days and am as confused as hell whether i'm in FF or FFPortable
FFPortable says their product is sooooooooo easy to install; they don't say it is easy to use with confidence
can i just install FFPortable on an external (thumb) drive as seems to be its intention and purpose for security reasons without any parts of MozFireFox on the computer hard drive ?
thnx, john

You can copy the contents of your regular Firefox profile into your Firefox Portable profile folder. This way you'll have all your regular data like bookmarks, saved passwords, cookies, and so on.
* [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]]
* http://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#local_profile
If you still want to export and import bookmarks manually, see

You launch Firefox Portable, you type something into the address bar and press Enter, and your local version of Firefox starts? If so, that simply shouldn't happen, and I can't imagine why it does. I suggest you continue the conversation that you started over on the Firefox Portable support forum:

• I am trying to download Adobe Flash player and it is asking me to close Mozilla Firefox, how do I do this?

I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player and it is asking me to close Mozilla Firefox before it will download. How do I do this?

Save the Flash installer to the desktop and close Firefox via File > Exit or Firefox > Exit.
Then run the Flash installer with a double lick on that desktop icon.
You may need to use "Run as Administrator" via the right-click context menu of that file.

• "Microsoft Office has encountered a problem with licensing and will need to close. If this problem persists, uninstall and reinstall your product."

Hi Guys!I am not it pro. but i need your HELP.Pls my microsoft Word and Excel starter were working fine, but after playing with my laptop, downloading , removing smth , i cannot open them proper anymore, cos this message comes up:
“Microsoft Office has encountered a problem with licensing and will need to close. If this problem persists, uninstall and reinstall your product.”What can i do to make it work fine back? plssss need Help! thank u i n advance!!!!!!

I faced similar challenge. Re-installation did not solve the problem due to unsuccessful un-installation of ‘Microsoft Click to run 2010’. The following steps worked for me. Please use your discretion to try and see if it works for you too..
1 Uninstall Microsoft office Starter 2010. If
‘MS click to run 2010’ doesn't get uninstalled use Microsoft fix it tool meant for installing and uninstalling programmes, to uninstall the same.
2 Download ‘Microsoft Office Starter 2010’ from internet.
3 Before launching, right click the executable file and click the 'properties'. Go to
‘compatability’ tab and choose appropriate 'compatibility mode' as per your OS. Tick the check box to use admin privilege under
privilege level section.
4 Launch the executable to install Microsoft Office Starter 2010 afresh. It should go through four steps during installation now. Complete the steps and enjoy. Thanks !

• I need to download mozilla firefox version 2.0, where can I find it?

I can only find version 7, but I need 2.0.

You can install the portable Firefox 2.0.0.20 version to access websites that need that old version
You can find the portable Firefox 2.0.0.20 version under "Mozilla Firefox, P.E. Legacy > Mozilla Firefox":

• Adobe flash won't download because I forst have to close Mozilla Firefox How do I do that

when I go to Comcast and try to watch any video it says that I must install Adobe Flash Player first. so I try and get thru all the screens except the last....which says: The installer will automatically continue when the conflicting applications are closed: Mozilla Firefox.
Well closing it shuts everything off because I am using it to run my site. This is sort of " Catch 22 " . Strange--- when I go to MSN and then bring up comcast I can view the videos. But I use Morningstat and other sites like MSM.com and videos are blocket there also with the same must download Adobe Flashplayer and I get blocked by that same screen. So how do I block you and keep you on so I can download this Adobe Flashplayer? I am not a computer genius. [email protected]

1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version].
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
See this:
• How do I close Mozilla Firefox in order to instal an update of Adobe Flash Player?

I installed FF very recently at the recommendation of Blue Mountain.com as I was unable to send their e-cards with messages. Now I'm trying to update Adobe Flash Player and cannot do so because of the message 'close Moxilla Firefox to continue'. I've tried but have not been successful. Can you please help me? Thank you.

To close Firefox, in the menus select "File > Exit", you can start Firefox by using the same shortcut that you used to open Firefox originally.

• An Incompatible Browser Has Been Detected need Windows 7 - Mozilla Firefox 3.5.x and 3.6.x

I'm trying to apply for FASFA student aid. When I click on the "apply now" button the "An Incompatible Browser Has Been Detected" page displays. The Mozilla Firefox requirements for Windows 7 is the 3.5.x and3.6 x version. I had already downloaded the 5.0. Have probably made a mess of things, I think I disabled the 5.0 but need the 3.5x etc. to be able to complete the FASFA form.

You could install the portable Firefox version 3.6 to avoid a conflict with the newer version. If you can contact the person running the page itself, you could advise him that Firefox is now up to version 6, and version 7 will be available soon.

• I want to add a desktop app to Mozilla Firefox, so I can unpin firefox from the takbar. How do I do that?

I use a Windows 8.1 operating system. Not the RT version or a new version; just the standard version of Windows 8.1. I have an app for Mozilla Firefox on my start screen, and one pinned to my task bar. I deleted the shortcut to Firefox from the desktop, and deleted it from the hard drive, but now I wish I hadn't I can't find an operating system option to create another shortcut, and I can't find the same or similar option on Firefox. Please help. Thanks.

Hi, I have Win 7, so can only generalize, but I would enter '''Firefox''' into the PCs search box, then right click > Send To Desktop.
Hope that may help.

• When I run a application in fullscreen mode while using the Firefox browser, the application automatically minimizes, e gets back to normal only if I close the Firefox. How can I solve this problem?

Hello, I'm writing it to inform you that I am having some problems with mozilla firefox 3.6.10, and I know that other people are having the same problem: Ever I run any fullscreen application, like games, while using mozilla firefox 3.6.10, it automatically minimizes (the program, not the browser). I'd like to find a solution. Sorry about the bad english, I'm a brazilian. My operational system is Windows 7 x86, and I have a Pentium E5300 processor, motherboard MSI (MS-7267), and 2GB of RAM DDR2. It's a Desktop Computer. Thanks for all.
