Need to create a ? mark in G510n password
I had to have a new router and laptop replaced The compter recognizes the printer, but cannot commumicate. My new lptop does not have a CD player. Is there any way to type in a ? in the password when inputing the pasword from the printer number pad?

You have to keep pressing the keys over and over to cycle through the letters, numbers and symbols. However, if there id no ? available you will have to change your wireless password to not incluce a ?.

At one time only Email IDs from Apple (when it was just @Mac.com) were referred to as "Apple IDs"
Other IDs such as to log in to Discussions were know as Discussion IDs
Things like the Online Store and iTunes and Apple realising that people would prefer one ID to have access to Everything tended to move things together.

Potentially the issue may be the combination of actual distance and the presence of any Wi-Fi interference at the location of the AirPort Express that may be the culprit here. The bottom line is you would want the Express to be within a 25+ dB range of the Extreme to be sure that it can consistently stay connected to it.

You can try the following to reset the password without the DVD:
How to change your username and/or password from the Terminal
1. Boot into single-user or verbose mode
2. At the prompt enter the following commands. Press RETURN after each:
fsck -fy
mount -uw /
launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist
dscl . -passwd /Users/username password
Replace username with the targeted user and password with the desired password.
reboot

You need an installer disc in order to reset an admin password. I don't know if the following will work on your system, but give it a try:
You can also reset the password by printing out (or writing down) and carefully following these steps.
First, find the short name of the admin user on the machine. The easiest way of doing this is by looking at what their directory is called in the Users folder.
Now, start up the computer while holding down Cmd-S. It should boot into a command line. (If it doesn't, you may need to reset the firmware password, which is detailed elsewhere.)
Type these exact lines:
mount -uw /
ifconfig lo0 up
cd /var/db/netinfo
netinfod -s local
Now you'll need that short name. (You did write it down, didn't you?) Type "passwd", a space, and the short name of the admin. For example, if the admin was - rather prosaically - called "admin", you'd type "passwd admin".
The computer will now prompt you to change the password for "admin" (or whatever the short name was). Go ahead and type a new password.
Now, type:
sync
reboot
and the machine will reboot. The admin password should now be changed. -
Hi, I'm a pc user and am trying to access an ical via the icloud. This ical houses information about work etc and it is quite important that I can gain access to it. To that end I have created an apple id and password and downloaded the icloud for the pc. However , when I get to the sign in page and use my apple id, I get a message to the effect that my apple id is ok, but its no good for an icloud account/ or I dont have an icloud account. I've trawled thru lots of help pages and nothing points me in the right direction. I've been on this for over 3 hours today and getting nowhere....Can somebody please help, I'm starting to lose the will to live over this

FYI, iCal is an application that can display calendars from iCloud (and others) it is not a calendar itself, merely a calendar client. In Windows Outlook is the calendar client. -

me the code.I assume the application is connecting to Oracle using an application ID/password. If so, check to see if that user has a private synonyn to the table. If so drop it since you have a public synonym.
Verify that the public synonym is in fact correct. Drop and recreate the public synonym if you cannot select against the synonym name using an ID that can perform select * from inhouse.icltm where rownum = 1. That is if this other user cannot issue select * from icltm where rownum = 1 without an error.
Check that the application ID has the necessary object privileges on the table.

You may find both public and private synonms. Either fix or delete. (Some may reference someelses.icltm table if one exists)

Hi, I can't insert a pontuaction mark in a password (which I did until yesterday) to acess one of my accounts. I don't remember the master password, so I can't change that one. I have a MacBook Pro and 10.6.8. Could you help me, please.
What I'd do in this situation:
connect both macs to same LAN
turn them on
login to new mac
go network, find your old mac
connect using "connect as" button (up right of window)
use credentials from login you can't access - mean user name and password. If you still can't add that ~ you can copypaste password there from any text editor
You will get full access to all data of that blocked account - just copy all you need
Other way:
connect both macs to same LAN
turn them on
login to new mac
on new mac run "migration assistant" from Utilities folder
tell there that you want import account data from other mac
follow instructions of migration assistant
thus you'll import account to new mac - but probably with filewault enabled and same password, I didn't check this in such situation

As rex already mentioned, Apps and other content are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. No transfers. No combining Apple IDs. Forever means forever.
In practice, this means any apps you currently have - free or paid - will need to be either repurchased using your new Apple ID or downloaded again if free. Until you refresh all of your apps, your iPad will ask for credentials to the old Apple ID any time one of the apps is updated.

I'm using pages to make a 24 page booklet. To send this to printers they all require 'crop marks' and 'bleed'. Is there any way of creating crop marks in pages?
I can't find any way of doing itbut it seems staggering that it wouldn't be able to generate these.
What am I missing people!!

dean.Pages can't generate crop marks natively (and I know of no other $40 application that does). If you are starting a new project, you can set up a custom template to do this. In Page Setup, set the page size to a custom size larger than the page you need (e.g., a few centimetres larger horizontal and vertical than the final page size). In the new page that appears, set the page guides to mark the border of the document, then set the crop and bleed marks where specified by your printer.
Note that this won't really help if the document already exists, since changing the page size may mess up existing formatting. -

You cannot get around Activation Lock without the oringinal owner disassociating the iPad from their account.

I need to create a policy form in Dreamweaver CS4 that a user needs to accept, or not, before proceeding further to another page in my site? After they accept the form the functionality needs to take the individual to another page where they are able to make charitable contributions using credit cards that would be sent directly to the organizations bank. They are trying to avoid using PayPal.

SwanyUnfortunately it's not perfect. With the other recommendation a user could simply go to the URL without viewing the policy page and thus not accepting the terms. For instance in the example anyone could just go to http://google.com without accepting the terms. Just view source code and see where GoTo URL directs upon accept. Also because there is no server side restriction to the page then the page is crawled by search engines so someone searching for your page online may go to your form page without first being redirected to the policy page.
With server side restriction the page is not crawled by search engines so the page will not come up in search results and users could not simply visit the URL because it would restrict access and redirect to the "login" AKA policy page first. Server side authentication is always the best method.
If you'd still like to go about doing it the recommended way let me know and I can walk you through the process. Basically just create a MySQL database table for the users username and password then user Dreamweaver Server behaviors to create the restrict access page and login page. It's pretty straight-forward to use the server behaviors in Dreamweaver once the database is setup. I walked someone through how to setup a database with GoDaddy recently and it's a similar process with other hosts.
If the other imperfect method that can be worked around works for you then that's great!
